Pierce Brosnan, 59 years old, looks awesome in Venice: would you hit it?

Pierce Brosnan has been in Venice for the past few days to promote his latest film, Love Is All You Need. I kept staring at photos of Pierce from the photo call and premiere, and finally decided to just cover the pics because Pierce looks so great. You know what I love about him? Everything, really. But specifically, I love that Pierce doesn’t look Botoxed or tweaked, that his skin looks kind of sun-damaged and he looks his age in general – certainly, he looks good for his age (59!!), but you can tell that he’s a man in his 50s.

So… would you hit it? If he wasn’t married to Keely, I mean. Even though he’s so much older than me… yes, I would hit it like a house on fire. God, I love an Irishman.

As for the film… it seems like it’s just supposed to be a sweet romantic comedy. You can read more about it here – I like that Pierce has consistently shown an ability to flex his acting chops, post-James Bond, in action films, rom-coms, dramas, etc. For my money, Pierce is maybe the best actor to fill the “007” role, and he’s shown the most range. Don’t yell about Sean Connery! I love Sean Connery, but I really think Pierce has more range.

    Yes, yes, yes.

  2. pretty says:

No… him in beige jacket… he looks like 80 years old..omg..
I couldn’t believe my eye for a second.

    • Belly says:

I know! Beige jacket with coordinating hair…
I’d probably still give it a nudge though – I’ve had a crush on this fella since I was seven, thanks to Mum watching Remington Steele. Yummo!

  3. Bite me aka aniston says:

    Damn sunscreen people

  4. samanthalous says:

Maybe if I were 80 I would hit it, or had some strange fetish for grandpa, otherwise that is gross.

  5. shellshell says:

To me I will always recognize him as the most handsome James Bond. He ages like wine!

  6. Ari says:

It’s those magnificent eyebrows. He does look great but I last version of Brosnan I would do would be from the Thomas Crown Affair. That’s pretty much it.

    • Raven says:

I just watched that film again recently and he was gorgeous. I’m older and I’d definitely hit that.

    • Jaxx says:

Oh yes, he was yummy in that, and so was Rene! But I agree, that’s the last time I lusted after him.

I have to respect people who don’t cut up their faces, but there are things that could remove those freckles all over his forehead and peels that would freshen his skin.

And that dye job in the second picture? Yuk! He’s looking so old anyway, why not go with silver hair, instead of that flat, dead, brown stuff?

    • Trashaddict says:

My thoughts exactly. I would do Thomas Crown, but just for a weekend because I’m not a jet-setter at heart. It would be a really good weekend.

  7. kc says:

I love me some Pierce. I think he was a good James B., but Daniel Craig (apart from Sean Connery who will always rule supreme) “gets” Bond more than Pierce did.

  8. MommaK18 says:

Yesss, though I have a thing for older men.
    Maybe not 60.
But my husband is 11 years my senior, older men just know how to handle a woman.
Soooo if I was in my late 40s, early 50s perhaps!

    • lafairy says:

“older men just know how to handle a woman.”

Because a woman has or need to be handled *roll eyes* *shrugs*

      • sunshine says:

Some women do, myself included. When I ran my own life “all on my own” like a good little modern woman, it was a mess and an utter nightmare. Then I met my husband (who is 12 years older) and let him do most of the decision making. It was the best decision I’ve ever made (lol)! I don’t snark or hate on women who can handle their lives on their own, I just respect their choices. Isn’t that the point, that women can choose what we want?

      • sunshine says:

I forgot to say that I also have always had a thing for older men…my love for Pierce Brosnan is because he looks like one of my mom’s friends when I was a kid. He was mid-30’s and I was 4 and I LOVED him. I wanted to marry him I loved him so much. He gave me a stuffed animal that I still have to this day. He died when I was 14 but whenever I see Pierce I think of him. My other childhood crushes were Gene Wilder and Burt Convy, both probably in their 40’s or 50’s at the time. It’s just a preference, some probably find it weird but I cannot even think of being with someone younger than I am, it grosses me out (not judging, just how I feel personally in my own life) so I guess viva la difference?

      • lafairy says:

        @sunshine:
Yes it is a choice, your or mommyk18’s choice, implying that this your decision as individuals not as being representative of all our gender and that’s what bothered me in mommyk18’s comment.

No women, as a whole gender, don’t need to get handled.

Maybe you need it or mommyk needs it.

But it is nowadays far from being an accurate representative situation of most women and it is just a personal choice that CAN NOT be tied to the fact of simply being a woman.
Implying otherwise besides being totally backwards is definitely sexist and what amazes me is that this kind of sexism is maintained by women.
Otherwise I cannot agree with you more on “vive la différence” in dating because older men that try to chat me up totally gross me out…;)LOL!

      • NYC_girl says:

I take “handling a woman” not as dominating her, or manipulating her, but there is something to be said about being with an older man, especially sexually. They have more life experience too. When I was 28 I dated a 40 year old, and he was probably the love of my life, and really “got me” emotionally. At this point (I’m 43), I would welcome the change, esp after meeting some of the d**chebags in this city who are in their 30s and 40s. Not hating on anyone, just sayin’.

      • Dahlia1947 says:

        Yeah in bed. That’s hot.

      • lafairy says:

@nycgirl:I am 25 and even if I never dated older men, I have pretty brutal and not so flattering feedbacks from many of my slicely older girlfriends who did and most of them actually told me that sexually it is way way overrated and some of them even defined it as the “worse”, one went from her worst (38yr old man) to her best (24) lover, I think that associating older men with better sex is just a myth to justify why you should waste your youth being the arm candy of some middle-aged dude, there are gifted and not so gifted men, in that specific area age do not matter, “skills” do.

So to each his own but I don’t find it natural that men in their 40’s hit on girls my age, they are just showing how immature and intellectually limited they are to pursue way much younger women because if they were otherwise they would try to snatch a hot mature woman their age with whom they could share their experience and deep thoughts;so to me the whole handling or protecting stuff is just akward and kind of dated.

      • lafairy says:

@Isa: not really a controversy but in the initial comment it’s the word “handle” that bothered me.

you can handle things, puppies, toddlers… not a woman that was my only point. After that to each his own, if some like old men good for them, if some like young men good for them either.

    • Lukie says:

      Handle?

Do you mean handle a woman in life or sexually, because either way, I don’t agree with that statement. Maybe it is because I am almost 40 and know that the only reason many younger women think that way is because they haven’t realized that many men, regardless of age, are often not on a woman’s level in the first place.

With that said, I will add “in my opinion” to your statement…much better.

eh to each his own, I guess. I’ll play in my own age group (+/- 5 years) I’m not ready for wrinkled balls just yet 😉

      • Isa says:

I don’t understand the controversy. She said, “older men know how to handle a woman.” She didn’t say women NEEDED to be handled by older men.

      • Lukie says:

        +1 Lafairy

@Isa: Who made it a controversy?

        I asked for a clarification.

I apologize if it hit a nerve, but i do believe i have a right to my opinion, no?

      • Isa says:

Lukie you most certainly do have the right to your opinion. I just don’t understand how it went from a simple statement “older men know how to handle women” to assuming she was speaking for the wants and desires of all women.

      • MommaK18 says:

Ahh wowza. To clarify what *I* meant, was an older man seems to be able to handle a woman because of maturity levels. And no, not every case. In my own, I have dated younger and older. When I met my husband, he was young at heart. I was early 2o’s and he was 32. By my 20s I had started my own business and graduated with 2 bachelors. Men my age werent able to keep up in many ways. Emotionally, financially and so forth. Most men at 21 and 22 are not thinking of buying a house and paying off debts and saving for the future. Then again, maybe I dated the wrong ones!

I felt I lived a few life times. So my husband, was a wonderful change. I am an older soul and he was younger in nature. We meshed well. And he taught me a lot…
So yes, each his own. Perhaps next time I’ll say *my older man* can handle me well. Lol

    • Devyn says:

I’ve always been drawn to much older men. It’s not that I *need* a father/authority figure, but still… the idea of being taken care of and guided (not bossed around or controlled) is extremely appealing imo. Of course the feminists would have me shot for this.

  9. mln76 says:

To me he will always be Remington Steele-totally would hit it!

    • mia girl says:

YES!!! I loved that program. I had such a crush on him, even though he was so much older.

      I love Pierce.

    • j.eyre says:

An emphatic yes. He and Stephanie Zimbalist lit the screen on fire. I adored him than and do still now.

    • Carolyn says:

I still remember watching Remington Steele as a kid (with my mum) and both of us thinking he’d be great as Bond.

Thomas Crowne Affair, Bond, even singing in Mama Mia…adorable. Nice smile. Think of all the opps he’s had to cheat on his wife. And he hasn’t. Must be a really nice guy.

PS. Connery is over-rated. Liked him in Hunt for Red October though!

  10. Brown says:

Yes. I’m 23 and I would wreck that.

  11. RocketMerry says:

He’s absolutely gorgeous, but I would not hit on him, simply because I have a sweet, romantic adoration of all nicely-aged people. I feel like just looking at them makes me cheerful and happy, I would never contaminate that with sexual desires.

And my only one and forever James Bond, for me, is Sean Connery, his royal scottishness.

    • geekychick says:

Oh Connery, oh, oh Connery. He really is like fine wine. I love his Bond, but I kind of grew up with Pierce-version, so he’s my Bond. Although, yeah-Connery just has to say a word, and I’m already hot and bothered. It’s crazy and it’s pervy, but OMG that voice, that accent! 🙂

    • Ruby Red Lips says:

Roger Moore is the best James Bond IMO – those old bond films are fab with Moore & Connery – so of their time but the best

  12. mrsezc says:

Damn he’s still got it … yes I’d hit it .. over and over again!!

  13. geekychick says:

I’d always, always hit it. He’s like an European Clooney, with much more interesting life. He reminds me of actors (or the image they were selling) of Old HW: handsome, charming, talented, classy. UNF!

  14. Lisa says:

Just rewatched The Thomas Crowne Affair last night (about the 15th time I’ve watched parts of it). He was so GREAT in that. And people, this is what 60 looks like if you are not Botoxed, etc. (Most people his age did not wear sunscreen in their youth.)

    • geekychick says:

That’s it!I’ll have to re-watch it tonight. I can’t help it! (and yes, it seems we agree on everything Brosnan-related) 😉

    • NYC_girl says:

I just mentioned that movie to someone above. LOVE it. He is so sexy in it, and so is Rene Russo – I wanted every piece of clothing she was wearing, including that black dress. Great move.

  15. RHONYC says:

his Remington ‘STEELE’ will always have a special place in my loi–,
ahem, heart…a special place in my heart. 😛

  16. Green_Eyes says:

Wow! My hubby will be 66 this month & w/ no surgical or any other kind of enhancement looks much much younger than Pierce’s 59 ..or most 59 in general to be fair. (When hubby asks for Sr. discount he gets refused). Hubby is 19 hrs older than I am, so its not Pierce’s age that is distracting…it’s how he looks more like my 82 yr old dad (well no daddy looks younger & not just my opinion). Ok now I want to know why the men in my family are aging better than we women are?!? Though I am often mistaken by as the youngest sister.. I’ll take that 5 hrs lol.

  17. PrettyTarheel says:

The timing on this post is excellent-I just watched the Thomas Crowne Affair yesterday for possibly the 400th time. I’d hit it if he wasn’t married, but he and Keely are such a cute married couple!

  18. Mira says:

I like him but I won’t hit on him. He’s gorgeous but he’s also my least preferred Bond. He was suave and sexy as Bond, that’s it. Craig is the BEST bond so far for what he has done to the character. Craig is to Bond like Bale is to Bruce Wayne.

    • sunshine says:

Ew NO! Daniel Craig looks like a foot and cannot hold a candle to Pierce Brosnan who IS Bond. Rarely do they ever get it right but when I think Bond Pierce is the EXACT image that comes to mind. If only he had been the original and only Bond….when he was young during his “Remington Steele” days. OMG *sigh*

      • Mira says:

@sunshine – I agree that Brosnan was very smart and suave as bond. But having read a few Bond novels, I love the dimensions Craig has brought to Bond. He’s not just a gook-looking, lady-killer character as made popular in Bond movies. He’s darker than how he has been portrayed and that’s what Craig has managed to capture. For me it’s more interesting to watch a tormented Bond than just an awesome looking one.

      • sunshine says:

I haven’t read the books so I will defer to your knowledge there! It’s really just because I love Brosnan so much that anything he does is the best, hands down. And Daniel Craig is so unattractive to me that it’s hard for me to really pay attention to his acting, I’m always distracted by that face lol!

    • v says:

Yes Craig all the way :).Brosnan hasn’t lost his charm though.

    • Amelia says:

I completely agree, Mira, I think the reboot of Casino Royale meant a rebooted Bond character too, one which was far more faithful to the novels.
Pierce was in that transition phase between the campy gadget version Bond and the darker, higher stakes version of Bond.
Brosnan was suaver, but Craig is gritter. And Connery was just plain brilliant. Horses for courses, I suppose.

  19. Ruby Red Lips says:

I never got him until I watched Mama Mia & then… I suddenly found him incredibly sxy…yum! 😉

  20. Darlene says:

I read your headline on the main page and said “absolutely” out loud at my desk.

    So, apparently, ABSOLUTELY.

    He’s hot.

  21. serena says:

He could be my father but who cares, he looks great!
Not even questioning, I’d love a piece of Pierce.. mmn!

  22. kells-bells says:

    Hell yeah I’d “hit it!”

  23. sunshine says:

I absolutely LOVE Pierce Brosnan. He is the one male celeb that I really go crazy for. He is the best Bond and anyone else is just a poor imitation, especially Daniel “looks like a foot” Craig. Also, he loves and is supposedly faithful to his fat wife, so he’s the perfect man. I choose to believe only good things about him, he is not involved in the nastiness of Hollywood, dammit! LOVE HIM!

  24. Grace says:

    Oh dear God yes.

  25. sefuah@gmail.com says:

    I ADORE this man!!!!

  26. ladybert62 says:

He is wonderful looking – he may be 59 and he looks 59 – but he looks fantastic!

I also love an Irishman – especially with black hair and blue eyes – be still my beating heart!!! ha ha

  27. NerdMomma says:

Oh my goodness…he is almost 30 years older than I am but yes I would. I love the smile lines. His eyes, ohhhh the Pierce Brosnan eyes! He’s gorgeous.

  28. Luise says:

Oh yeah…..I would definitely be hitting that. He is way hot.

  29. Jennifer says:

    Hell yeah!

  30. HoustonGrl says:

    mmmm, Pierce. Always and forever.

  31. Blupp says:

for all the people here who love Sean Connery:

    Sean Connery on slapping women:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FgMLROTqJ0

    • danielle says:

glad you posted that. Have never been able to stomach Connery after hearing that.

    • F*ck you, I'm going to Guam! says:

      Wow.
I knew there was a reason why he always rubbed me the wrong way.
“Best Bond” my a*s. I remember a Bond movie he was in where he pushed a woman or hit her so she flew backwards on bed….I was a kid but I remember how nasty I thought he was.
I always preferred Roger Moore because of his sense of humor (and I also think he’s better looking so there).

  32. Chickie Baby says:

Heck, YEAH! Any day, any time. Would never turn down Remington Steele!

  33. Sabrine says:

Piercin’ the Brosnan? He’s getting a little long in the tooth now…still..ya, sure why not.

    • apsutter says:

Haha…I love your long pondering and considering of him while ultimately accepting the challenge lol

  34. cellabowi says:

    In a heartbeat

  35. Not the other Diva says:

WoW! I would so hit that!….lol He’s only 12 years older than I am!.. mmmmmm so super sexy still…

  36. Jen34 says:

I bet Pierce would be fun in bed. He seems like a guy who appreciates women. So, of course.

  37. pebbles says:

    yes, oh, yes.

  38. Mara says:

The most handsome actor in Hollywood .

  39. mar says:

Oh yeah! And I like it that he’s is married to a curvey woman and not a stick with a lollypop head.

    • Jayna says:

Curvy? She has a weight problem. He doesn’t have to be with a stick, but his wife has weight issues the last photo I saw. I was shocked at how much weight she had gained from when she had gained weight and was what I would call curvy. I applaud him for not dumping her for the next skinny actress, but I think she has some self-control issues about food and exercise, because she has not been heavy all her adult life.

      • mar says:

Pierce himself has stated” I love my wife’s curves”…Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

      • someone says:

Not to be mean, but I was thinking the same thing. A few years back when the National Enquirer first ran beach photos of her, people were claiming she had a medical issue that caused her to gain weight. They never stated what the medical issue was tho. Now she is even bigger. Not sure I’ve ever seen as dramatic a change as Keely since she married Pierce.

  40. vixo says:

It’s always fab to see someone aging gracefully !

  41. Jayna says:

I love Irish actors, but Liam Neeson is my older man.

  42. Christiana says:

Would I hit my beloved Pierce – oh yes in a heartbeat. He is without doubt the most handsome, sexy, affable and “normal” Hollywood star ever. and I love the fact that he and Keely are totally loved up, but wish it was me (sigh!). The best Bond and the best man ever.

  43. DreamyK says:

A conditional yes…bleach out the huge grandpa freckles first.

What a lovely man he is. He was also smoking hot in “Taffin” so check that movie out too, ladies.

  44. Dahlia1947 says:

Hhhmm.. I might hit it. He’s a sexy, older man and he seems pretty sophisticated and I like that. So yes I think I would.

  45. F*ck you, I'm going to Guam! says:

    No.
    Old(er) men gross me out.
I prefer guys my own age.

He is very attractive though but if hitting it means him inserting his peen into my vaj then no, absolutely not. That’s so gross to even think about.
But sip on a glass of red in front of the fire place and cuddle while staring into his sparkly blue eyes…yes. Absolutely.
    But that’s it!

  46. GrandPoobah says:

    Oh yes, over and over.

I met him on a commercial set and he’s DARLING. Just the sweetest person. And he said my name in his gentle lilt of an accent and asked how I was doing and I almost puddled on the floor right there.

So on top of being damn handsome, he’s a very nice guy. *sigh*

He’s even better in person too. Tall and soooo handsome and dignified. Classic, classy man.

  47. apsutter says:

Oh yea! He looks dashing as hell here.

  48. Celt Lady says:

Love Pierce….oh yeah, I’d hit it…..often…if not for the fact that he is happily married.

So sad for the rest of us.

  49. iloveparis says:

I would hit that like a god damn red headed stepchild. Has been and always will be the love of my life – even (and sometimes especially) when he was Remmington Steele.

  50. Joan says:

“…yes, I would hit it like a house on fire.”
    made my day 🙂

and hell to yes! i would!
    BEST BOND EVER!

  51. Carrie UK says:

Aw man I just love this guy, he’s smooth! Look at him, he’s just great 🙂 not a Bond fan but Thomas Crown Affair oh yes!!

  52. dorothy says:

    Where does the line form?

  53. Ginger says:

He is looking like a mighty fine older man!

  54. Snowbunny says:

Love this guy, wrinkles and all. The Thomas Crown Affair is one of my favorites and all his Bond movies (he was the best IMO). He defended his wife after the tabloids called her fat and for that he will always be a class act.

    • Green_Eyes says:

Totally agree best BOND EVER (IMO). Thought it showed he is. Class act the way he stood by his wife during her weight problem & his first wife during her tragically unsuccessful fight w/ cancer. I have heard he is a genuine nice guy.

  55. Camille (The original) says:

He looks great, very handsome man. I love his twinkly eyed smile.

  56. aang says:

    YES! <3 Remington Steele <3

  57. JRenee says:

TCA is one of my top 10. He and Rene were hot, hot hot! He seems charming and is still quite handsome!

  58. vviles says:

I wouldn’t hit it- not feelin the love 😉

  59. skuddles says:

I might not hit it but I’d let him talk dirty to me… he gives great voice!

  60. Loulou says:

He’s absolutely stunningly handsome with each line and grey hair. I loved him as Remington Steele and prefer him as Bond to at least Craig. He’s just so suave and human at the same time. I love that he married an older woman and stuck with her through her illness and death. I love that he mourned her for a long time. I also love that he stays with the mother of his children through her weight battles. He’s charming and charmed.

  61. kitty-bye says:

YES!, I don’t know why he didn’t get to stay on as 007, loved him in Mama Mia hehe…

  62. CM says:

Always thought Timothy Dalton was the best-looking James Bond, and the truest in character to the Ian Fleming novels. Still, Pierce does seem like a nice guy. I’ve been a fan since ‘Remington Steele’.

  63. Debra says:

I think that all Bond actors were very attractive guys except of Roger Moore. The best Bonds for me are Connery, Craigh and Dalton.
