Scarlett Johansson on the set of the Cinderella photoshoot

Scarlett Johansson appears as Cinderella in new ads shot by Annie Liebovitz for Disney World’s Year of a Million Dreams campaign. Other celebrities dressed as Disney characters in the ads include Beyonce as Alice in Wonderland, and David Beckham as the prince from Sleeping Beauty.

Liebovitz says that Johansson loved dressing up as Cinderella and couldn’t wait to put on the $325,000 diamond Harry Winston tiara.

Johansson, 22, is photographed as Cinderella after the fairy godmother treatment, wearing a designer ball gown and a diamond tiara reports BBC.

“Scarlett Johansson couldn’t wait to put on that tiara,” Leibovitz says. The Harry Winston creation is valued at $325,000. The glass slipper was made for the shoot by Steuben. Says Johansson, 22, via e-mail, “It wasn’t hard to coax my foot into the iconic glass slipper; it’s every little girl’s dream, mine included.”

Here are Liebovitz’s other gorgeous photos in this ad campaign:

Ugh I hate this. Why do they have to use celebrities to market EVERYTHING these days? FGS, this is for kids. Why should they care about stupid old fish lips Scarlett? She doesn’t look like Cinderella and Beyonce looks ridiculous as Alice. I really hate the fact that they feel the need to attach a celebrity to everything.

  2. Jenna says:

I think ScarJo works as Cinderella, but Beyonce as Alice? Was everybody else busy that day?

  3. Anne (in Reno) says:

Who is with Beyonce there? One guy looks kind of like Lyle Lovett.

  4. ER says:

Am I the only one who thinks Scarlett looks manly? She may have perfect hair, lucious lips and big boobs but she must have a lot of testosterone coursing through her veins because she just so….masculine!

  5. Action says:

Personally, I think they’re great pictures and well done. But it’s definitely for the parents and not for the kids. The kids only want to see their tried-and-true animated version. And you’re right, they shouldn’t need celebrities to sell this.

  6. Fabiola says:

That guy looks like Lyle Lovett because he IS Lyle Lovett!

I think it’s a very neat artistic thing, much better than ANYTHING that has come out of Disney (not counting Pixar) for the past five years or so. I think it’s really cool seeing real people as classic Disney characters.

I do think the Beyonce as Alice is a bit odd, but I don’t see any reason to be quite so negative about the whole thing. They’re beautiful photos, and as an art geek I can’t wait to see the ads so I can look at them closer.

And the other guy is Oliver Platt. LOVE him!

Heheh I once wore a bridesmaid dress just like what Scarlett is wearing.

Sheesh, there are more important things to get worked up about. Its a bit of fantasy for pete’s sake.

Scarlet is a perfect choice for the Cinderella part because she’s gorgeous, FEMININE and talented and in my opinion, deserves kudos for conducting herself like a young lady and not a cheap, drug addled, pox ridden skank like some of her contemporaries.
