Bill Gates leaves The Daily Show before his interview is over

Bill Gates was on The Daily Show to promote Windows Vista, and he left really quickly before Jon Stewart was even done talking. It’s odd that he would be so busy he would leave the stage like that, but what’s even better is how they parody it the next night.

Did anyone see that episode and did something happen that would make Gates take off like that? I tried to find it on YouTube, but couldn’t.

I watched it. I think he was probably busy and had to get somewhere. The interview WAS over and Jon Stewart was just wrapping up and after he said Thanks to Gates and started talking to the audience, Bill Gates got up and walked away. I don’t honestly think Bill Gates does too much media stuff so its possible that he assumed since it was over he had to vacate the chair.

Good comeback by Jon. Problem’s indeed.

So he’s not too media savvy … I guess he didn’t want to sit around making small talk … can’t blame him.

He just looked like he didnt know what to do…Bill Gates that is. Like he didnt know if he was suppose to stay or go.

He’s such a dork! I watched the interview and he just thought it was over and got up from his chair.. it was not really that awkward but must guests stay on until the commercial break. I think he just didn’t know what to do.

As has been said, the interview WAS over. Typicially, though, guests stick around and chat briefly with Jon after the cameras stop rolling. This time, he just got up, said goodbye, and left. It was unusual, but he’s a busy and very focused man, so it’s not too outlandish for him, I don’t think.

Yes, the man is a nerd, but let’s not forget he’s a great man. His charitable work is virtually unmatched, these days. And whether you’re a Mac person or a PC person (my door swings both ways) you have to admit that he’s done a lot for the computing world, despite Microsoft’s and Windows’ flaws.

Comedy Central posts all their Daily Show episodes on their website–did you try there? We have it on DVR, but we haven’t seen it yet.

Bill Gates is just a little nerdy and like someone else, doesn’t seem particularly media savvy. He was having a fun time the whole interview and just seemed to think that he was supposed to leave after Jon wrapped up the interview. He just was confused

He probably needed to rush off to steal more of Apple’s ideas. Vista microsofts answer to Mac OS X…..too funny.

    Fuck Bill.
