Snooki covers Us Weekly with her 42-pound weight loss: she looks good?

Snooki

I have a serious problem, people. Okay, it’s not actually serious, but it’s fairly annoying. You see, I’m still watching “Snooki & J-Woww,” and I cannot stop. That’s how I unwind on Saturdays after beating myself up in the gym or on the roads — by pouring some boxed wine and checking out what the orange-tanned species is doing that week. The addiction isn’t as bad as it was last year because at least I haven’t lowered myself to watching “The Pauly D Project” or Vinny Guadagnino’s new MTV show, but still, I’d like to kick the habit altogether. Hopefully, next week’s episode with the girls will finally reveal J-Woww’s tacky, pink diamond engagement ring, which is the point at which I had hoped to go cold turkey. But who knows if this plan will work.

Anyway, Snooki’s celebration of losing her baby weight covers this week’s issue of Us Weekly, and Kaiser, CB, and myself are all wondering, “Why?” I think Us is merely holding up their end of the bargain where they pretty much paid Snooki for all of her baby stories (although People ran a birth announcement cover, so my theory could be wrong). Us runs a lot of weird covers though, including the “Bachelor” exclusives, which make no sense. Here, Snooki is talking all about her 42-pound accomplishment, which is hopefully a healthy one. Instead, I’m afraid that she’s probably dropped some weight from nursing and most of it from diet pills. Clearly, she’s sucking it in, and there’s some Photoshop at work too — at least on her face. Here is a preview of the Us story:

There’s a little bit less of Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi to go around these days — 42 pounds’ worth! The former Jersey Shore party girl, 25, has experienced a complete life makeover since last year, thanks to her engagement to boyfriend Jionni LaValle, her first-ever pregnancy, and the August birth of her adorable baby boy Lorenzo.

“When you have a baby, everything changes,” the 4-foot-9 star says in the new issue of Us Weekly. Part of Snooki’s transformation? She’s shed an astounding 42 pounds since giving birth, weighing in at a 102 pounds and revealing the sexy results for Us in body-revealing bikinis.

“I lost it for me,” she tells Us, “but I also wanted Jionni to know that I can be hot as a mom.” For more exclusive shots of Snooki’s amazing post-baby body, how she dropped the weight (including fitness and diet tips) and her new life with her boys, pick up the new issue of Us Weekly, on stands Friday!

At least Snooki is admitting that she didn’t lose the weight just for herself but also to impress Jionni because (as demonstrated in recent episodes) she’s had some major issues with Jionni devoting a ton of energy and time to Lorenzo. Snooki keeps whining about how he never cuddles or kisses her any more, but she has to realize that it’s not all about Snooki anymore. They’re both new, exhausted parents, so this is to be expected, but I suspect that Snooki whines a lot more than the average brand new mom.

Here are some photos of Snooki and J-Woww hosting the 5th season premiere of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” on 1/25. Snooki does look like she’s lost a lot of weight in these photos, but she’ll never lose her trashy ways of dressing.

She tweets about going to the gym a lot. I don’t think a nursing mother would be too keen on diet pills…

  2. Yellowshaba says:

Weight loss? I cant get past her teeth!!

    • mari says:

Yeah. The veneers complitely killed all cuteness she had.

It’s also pretty diffucult to tell that Snookie and Jwoww are genuine women as opposed to those drag queens…

  3. lucy2 says:

    Thinner, yes, but good? No.

  4. BLOGAHOLIC says:

She looks good. Time to hit the gym

  5. marie says:

hasn’t that photo been used before? I seem to remember something like it, although I could be wrong..

  6. Christy says:

I had a hard time picking the two out of the drag queens.

    • RHONYC says:

lmao! i was thinking the same thing. love how they just blend in with the Queens, honey. *2 snaps up* 😆

  7. elceibeno08 says:

Congratulations on losing the weight but that bow on your head looks ridiculous.

  8. lisa says:

her face is a hot mess, i dont know if that is bad work or a naturally grown mess with too much tranny makeup

  9. Bean says:

Is it wrong that I thought the before pic was Bobby Moynahan from SNL?

  10. lem says:

the blonde drag queen second from the right looks like leann rimes.

    • Masque says:

Don’t be rude. That queen didn’t deserve that comment.

      (sarcasm)

    • dave says:

In the drag queen photos Snooki looks like Bristol Palin!

    • hatsumomo says:

      That was way harsh, Tai!

    • deehunny says:

On second thought, she does look a bit like Rhymes. She was one of the first eliminated in the season, and many commented on what a pretty face she had (looked very much like a woman).

Anyone else finds it comical that Coco is the one that is taking up all the attention and is standing all in the front? It’s always all about Coco

  11. annabelle says:

J-Woww (really?) is one application of overly dark lip liner away from drag queen status. I honestly could not tell if that was her or one of Ru’s contestants.

    • Haolebunny says:

+1- and what is up with all the fillers in her face? She looks completely deformed!

  12. Jen34 says:

I know some women will disagree, but I have felt that nursing= weight loss is a myth. In the first place, you have to eat a lot of calories to nurse, otherwise you won’t produce enough milk.

Secondly, nursing keeps the water weight on. At least that has been my experience after having and nursing/attempting to nurse 3 kids.

    • Mr. Stinky FishFace says:

I have to agree! I nursed my youngest for 2 years (yes I’m a crunchy mom) and the weight didn’t start coming off til I started to wean her. But when it came off it CAME OFF. I dropped almost 35lbs in almost 2 months!

    • Bridget says:

In some women the body actually releases a hormone that makes it want to hold onto the extra weight, so it’ll be able to continue to produce milk. It’s really, really tough and I know a lot of moms (who are also really active and eat well) who simply don’t lose the baby weight until after baby is born.

    • Marigold says:

I think it’s true for some women and not for others. I have lost a lot of weight since breastfeeding. It burns up to 500 calories a day if you do it exclusively. The math works out. However, with some women, burning 500 calories is going to make them hungry so they either maintain their weight or gain weight. But if you keep a healthy diet, you can absolutely lose weight if you have that kind of metabolism. I know for me, I try to make up for the 500 calorie loss but it’s actually hard with a new baby to even find time to eat, let alone eat a little extra like you’re supposed to. Also, losing water weight was a huge part of my weight loss after giving birth. So it just shows everyone’s experience is different, not that one way or the other is a myth.

She looks good but her face looks like a hot mess idk she looks weird…. But good for her

  14. Bridget says:

Somehow Snookie doesn’t bug me. She clearly loves her own style and thinks that she looks great, so more power to her. I wish that we could all be so confident in ourselves!

  15. Joanna says:

I like Snooki and jWoww. i watched jersey shore. both of them are nice people with good hearts. they just need to cut back on the drinking and stop dressing so trashy. but seriously, though, it seems women dress trashier in recent years. if they toned down the makeup and went for a more natural look, they both would be gorgeous.

  16. Lisa says:

    She looks 42.

  17. Noi says:

i can’t say she looks good her body seems to be in a better shape her head and face is another story

  18. MJ says:

No lie, I thought this was a photo of the newest wax figure unveiling at Madame Tussauds!

  19. Meanchick says:

    Cheek implants?

  20. KellyinSeattle says:

All I want to say is that I’m tired of people making the “rapper’s sign” with their hands all the time….we need to come up with a better option.

  21. Ang says:

I don’t like her but as someone her height I know how hard it is to stay thin so good for her!

  22. jwoolman says:

I think Snooki actually has been this size for a good portion of her teens and adulthood – the extra weight was more of an anomaly. Long before she was pregnant, she also shed considerable weight and said that it was actually her more normal condition. At her height, any extra weight is more obvious than for someone taller.

  23. Jack says:

I think she looks good has red head but i cant get pasted the plastic face..Hollywood needs to stop with the botox unmoving faces it annoying.

  24. Cletus says:

WTF is with her face, though? She looks bizarre… IS it the teeth? I can’t tell. It’s SOMEthing, though. She’s just, she looks like what an alien woudl look like if it tried to dress up like a human. All seamless, and weird colored, and…wrong.
