Miley Cyrus is not corrupting kids: ‘If they have an iPhone, they’re watching pr0n’

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus … won’t stop. I guess she’s living up to the name of her ubiquitous single by doing interviews with a decent chunk of Europe in the space of just a few days. Since we last spoke of Miley, she’s gone from Germany to the UK, but I had to raid her Instagram account for some photos that we haven’t posted yet. There’s a whole ton of news bites from various Miley interviews floating around out there, and I’m going to borrow Kaiser’s bullet-point method to hit them all:

Miley Cyrus

* Miley has been tweeting and deleting again, this time about Xanax. She apparently got all weepy over her jet lag and tweeted that she was “taking a zany trying to pass out” while “crying herself to sleep.” Then she followed up with “Never mind. Realized I’m just an idiot & somehow I butt tweeted my conversation. Missing home.” Then she reportedly almost missed her BILD meet & greet due to “sushi food poisoning.

* Miley gave a weird interview to Promiflash (in Germany) and talked about how everyone is copying her hair: “Hopefully my hair grows really quick and next time you see me I’ll have a pony down to my butt. I just always want to be different. Everyone else has cut their hair to look just like me, so now I got to do something different. I don’t like when you walk in and you see a bunch of other yous. This video of the interview is kind of hilarious because as soon as Miley complains about people copying her hair, they show a video of Elsa Pataky on the red carpet before cutting back to Miley, who giggles, “Elvis said that ‘It’s the greatest form of flattery when people copy you,’ so I agree.” (And you people thought there was nothing to this story.)

* Miley revealed to The Sun that pot is still her favorite thing in the world: “When I smoke, I don’t get the sick feeling I get when I drink, or that anger rising up. There’s a reason Bob Marley was like some kind of musical Rasta Mother Theresa!

* Miley also told The Sun that her “We Can’t Stop” video might be sexy, but “Kids know everything under the sun. If they have an iPhone, they’re watching pr0n. Watching me grinding a little in my white leggings, it’s nothing compared to what your 12-year-old son is watching under the sheets. Siri will even tell you how to dispose of a dead body.

* Miley asked a RTL Now camera crew about the nearest location of a “tr*nny bar.” Yes, she was totally serious.

* Miley bestowed this little gem upon UK’s “Daybreak” show: “I’ve seen karma bite so many people. I’ve been lucky because the universe has done something right for me — karmically it’s always been really good to me. I must have done something right in my past life.” She added that life will be great “if you make music because you love it and you don’t make it for any self-absorbed reasons, and you work really hard.

Good god, I remain amazed at the sheer percentage of people (famous or not) that don’t know the actual meaning of the word “karma.” Beyond this righteous mess of a PR tour (for a freaking single, not an album), I’m shaking my head at Miley’s take on the youth of today. Sure, maybe some kids get away with watching pr0n, but I can assure you that my 12-year-old is not doing anything on the internet that isn’t closely monitored with all sorts of parental protection rules intact. Maybe I sound gullible about this sort of thing, but I know my kid, and I watch what she’s doing — and never once has she tried to pull a fast one with her time on the net. What kinds of “kids” does Miley hang out with, anyway? Yeah, I know — it’s best not to get wound up by remarks from a person who thinks that doing drugs is proof of a “grown up status.”

Oh, and here’s the official “director’s cut” of Miley’s “We Can’t Stop” video that she said the UK censors nixed. It’s got a higher butt-cheek quotient and a little more fake rebellion, but it’s about the same level of “WTF?” as the previously released version.

It happens more than you think. You wouldn’t believe how many kids watch porn, at a very young age. My little sister, while still in elementary school was looking up “girls kissing” on youtube because her friend told her to. It is a lack of parental guidance and supervision, in the majority of cases. When I was in sixth grade I knew nothing about sex, didn’t want to know, but now that’s all these kids can talk about. And I’m being completely serious. It’s a troubling. After that happened with my little sister, my parents moved our family computers from the upstairs playroom to the downstairs living room.

    • Esmom says:

“It is a lack of parental guidance and supervision, in the majority of cases.”

Yes. One of my sons is 12 and there is a huge difference in the activities and interests of him and his friends, who have involved parents, and a group of their classmates, who roam around town aimlessly and hang out at the park every night with little to no supervision. Those kids have grown up too fast.

      • Virgilia Coriolanus says:

That’s how my family’s always been. I live in a small town, that has a lot of drunks (there are four bars, right in a row on our mainstreet-right next to the bank) and sex offenders-my mom checks every once in a while, and there are at least six of them in my town. Knowing all of this, you wouldn’t believe how many people just let their kids do whatever. My little sister has a friend who lives up the street, at the top of the hill. That’s a five minute walk….which she will do in pitch black darkness, while her mom won’t come and get her. My mom makes my brother walk her home, because she doesn’t want some drunk to intercept a 12 year old girl from our house to hers. Which would be very easy, as those bars that I mentioned, are only two streets away from us. I can walk to all the bars in our town in less than five minutes.

I’m a little more sensitive to things like that because I see it every day. People just, for whatever reason, where I live do not raise their kids at all. And I mean it quit seriously. The majority of them, I think will have quite the issue of growing up because they’re used to having every new gadget, being coddled by their parents, by teachers-never really having to take responsibility for anything.

I mean, I have one year left of school and I’m worried about what I’m going to do for a job, as I haven’t ever had a job-the only jobs around here for teenagers is fast food, I know that I will have to take care of myself one day, and that does worry me.

    • Sabrine says:

Her comments aren’t so ridiculous. My son told me long ago that kids were able to disable the parental controls. It was a big joke. He said he was watching porn by the age of 11 as were all his friends.

Parents can only do so much. They can’t be with their children 24/7 to monitor them. So quit blaming them.

      • Kword210 says:

Shade on the supervision comment. I am a vigilant mother but I also want them to develop self control and responsibility. Much to my amazement my SEVEN yo daughter had been watching Japanese aname(sp?) about sex. She learned it from a neighbor boy (8 yo). It’s happening whether you supervise or not. Talk about sex with your kids.

      • Hannah says:

Agreed. And I LOLed at her ‘Siri will tell you how to dispose a dead body’. So true.

But think abou it — kids (esp boys) will do whatever it takes to learn about sex. At least your son was honest. Sounds like you guys have a great relationship. 🙂

      • Esmom says:

Of course parents can’t be with their kids 24/7, nor should they be by the time kids hit 12 or so. But still, that’s not the time to step away as a parent and say that whatever happens is out of your hands. There’s still a lot of parenting to do when kids reach that age and beyond, imo, even if you want your kids to be independent and responsible.

And I guess what I meant by “supervision” was really “involvement.” My kids do lots of stuff unsupervised but I’m still in touch with what’s going on with them. But many parents are just not, and that’s where the trouble starts, I think.

      • TheOriginalKitten says:

I remember a dude bringing a copy of his dad’s Playboy into class in 4th grade and I recall thinking he was “bad”. Ah, remember the olden days before internet pr0n?

I think 5th grade was when my friends and I started talking about wieners and reading those sex ed books like “Our Bodies, Ourselves..” or whatever that shit was. Of course none of us had any real experience with dongs, it was more to make us giggle.

Anyway, I think kids have a natural curiosity about that stuff. The point is to communicate and engage, talk to them about sex and the consequences of sex.

      • Jayna says:

        So true.

      • Kcaia says:

Exactly. I had seen porn by 12, and we didn’t have internet. My mom still thought I was an innocent baby, and I kind of was. I wasn’t near thinking of sex, but I was curious, and if there’s one word to describe children, its curious. I think as parents its important to remember that kids will do what they really want to do, no matter how many parental controls and restrictions you put in place. And to the people that say celebrities need to be better Influences for their children, if your child is that easily influenced to do wrong and follow others, its only a matter of time before they meet someone in the real world that will be happy to steer them wrong.

      • Kcaia says:

      • Emma13 says:

I still haven’t watched pron and I’m 23, but that was a choice. I’m not a picture type of person. I’d rather read it. I read my first piece of smut and it was Harry Potter fanfiction at 13. I had no idea it was going to be in the story!!! I think if a kid really wants to see it he/she will find a way.

      • Bijlee says:

@Emma13 LOL! That was my introduction too!!!

      • Hakura says:

@Kword210 – “ Much to my amazement my SEVEN yo daughter had been watching Japanese aname(sp?) about sex.

Anime xD A small vocabulary lesson from a hard-core anime-fan (maybe it can help some parents out there!):
        ** ‘Hentai – ‘ is anime porn,
        ** ‘Yaoi‘ – is male/male,
        ** ‘Yuri‘ – is female/female.

It can be pretty sneaky, actually, being able to search sexually explicit material, just using another language (which means unless parents know the words, they probably won’t program them (& likely won’t be pre-set) into the ‘blocking’ security programming they set up to prevent kids from using/searching certain words.

Not to mention a lot of parents probably see something animated & don’t really worry about ‘porn’. (While this isn’t true of ALL of it, some anime porn can be the most twisted, disturbing shit out there, be warned!)

    • Lucrezia says:

VC – how old is 6th grade where you are?

When/where I went to school, 6th grade was the year you turned 11. Basic sex-ed started in yr 4 (logical, since it’s not that uncommon for girls to start puberty that early). So we definitely all knew about sex.

I probably saw my first porno when I was about 12. But this was in the days before smart-phones, so it was via the traditional method: we sneakily watched a video belonging to my friend’s parents.

      • Virgilia Coriolanus says:

I turned twelve in sixth grade….when I say I didn’t know about sex, I meant it in a sense that I know what goes where. I know that. I was not interested AT ALL in experiencing that-still aren’t all that excited, to be honest. But nowadays it’s different. I mean my younger cousin is in sixth grade now, and is completely sex obsessed. Why?

Because his mother (who I love dearly, but doesn’t raise ANY of her kids properly) let him hang with teenage girls-who talk about sex. All the time. My brother hung out with those teenage girls a few times, and he said that whenever they were alone, they would always talk about how many guys they slept with, how many girls (at least one of them is bisexual), how they did it, when, and so on. And my cousin was around 9 or 10 when he started hanging around them…he’s 12 now. And it’s because his mother didn’t have enough sense to vet the people who hang around her son. How many teenage girls do you think want to hang around their friend’s father’s girlfriend’s son ALL THE TIME, without complaining?

    • only1shmoo says:

You guys are probably right, but what irks me about Miley’s comments is that she’s basically saying, “I’m absolved of any responsibility here because even though I’m glorifying hard partying and drug use, someone out there done something more offensive than I have.”

Doing everything but hiring a blimp to advertise that you’re schtooping until you’re blue in the face, experimenting with drugs and metaphorically giving Disney the middle finger isn’t a sign of maturity — it’s the behaviour of a petulant child begging for attention.

    • Becky1 says:

Yeah, I saw porn when I was a kid and this was back in the 1980’s. My Dad had Playboys and Penthouses that he thought were well hidden. I also used to sneak downstairs and watch soft core stuff on HBO when everyone else was asleep. It wasn’t a good thing and it would have been better if I hadn’t been exposed but I didn’t have sex until I was 19 so it certainly didn’t push me into early sexual activity.

I think parents delude themselves sometimes about what their child sees and knows. Even if you monitor your child on the net and don’t keep porn in the house, etc. there are other kids who have parents who aren’t as vigilant. Plus, kids are usually very curious and can be very sneaky if it’s something they are interested in-particularly if it’s something forbidden.

      • Hakura says:

@Becky1 – “ Plus, kids are usually very curious and can be very sneaky if it’s something they are interested in-particularly if it’s something forbidden.

You’re so right about the ‘forbidden’ aspect. The less ‘upfront’ a parent is about sexuality, the worse that curiosity, too. (NOT to say a kid wouldn’t be super curious, even given the run-down from parents. There are tons of factors). But when a kid is determined, they will find a way.

  2. blue marie says:

well, her attitude is typical of her age. wait till she gets a bit older and looks back, she’ll realize how dumb and self centered she sounds. she’s getting way too much air-play.

as for the haircut, she does realize Pink did it first, right? and before Pink there was someone else?

    • amelia says:

      Annie Lennox?

      • blue marie says:

yes, and she did it better than both.

      • Cherry says:

Mia Farrow? Audrey Hepburn? Grace Jones? Halle Berry? Madonna? Audrey Tatou? Emma Watson? Agyness Deyn? Amber Rose? Posh Spice? Michelle Williams?
Seriously, google ‘famous pixie haircuts’. You’d have to be pretty ignorant to claim you’re the only one who ever thought of cutting your hair short.

      • Tiffany :) says:

“You’d have to be pretty ignorant to claim you’re the only one who ever thought of cutting your hair short.”

        YESSSS!!!!!!

You’d not only have to be ignorant, you’d have to be arrogant too.

    • Liv says:

She’s really getting on my nerves!

Didn’t she say she loves her short hair so much that she wants to wear it like that FOREVER? She actually said this! So stupid.

    • TheOriginalKitten says:

THIS! She’s not the first girl to have short hair. Michelle Williams has been wearing her hair short for almost her entire career-she OWNS the pixie cut, and yeah Lennox, Pink…all trademarked short hair well before Miley.

      She needs to STFU.

      • Mourning the Death of Music says:

It reminds me of the comments Avril Lavigne made when she was in the early stage of her career. She claimed to be so punk and threw serious shade against [blonde] pop singers at the time, but basically ‘got her hypocrite on’ several years later by reverting to similar antics.

I’m very certain we’ll see a good bit of it from Miley over the next several years.

  3. emmie_a says:

    STFU already. And go away.

  4. Buckwild says:

I have to kind of agree with Miley on the kids and accessing anything online. Even if you have controls in place, they can easily access that stuff at a friends house. My friend is a highschool teacher and she was saying how many parents do not fully understand the world teens live in nowadays – if they want to see it, they will see it. You think you know your kid, until you don’t. I think the only way to really “control” your child is to teach them about good judgment and have an open line of communication so your child feels comfortable telling you something.

    • Sixer says:

I’m gonna agree. Kids can find what they want to find – they all know how to bypass controls, use proxies, etc. The best defence isn’t censoring them rigidly or making stuff forbidden fruit: it’s bringing them up to make smart decisions about a) what they want and enjoy doing and b) avoiding trouble. And it’s about expressing opinions about ethics and morals openly and generally as a part of everyday conversation instead of sitting them down for endless worthy lectures.

Even so, I can’t imagine why primary school children are taking smartphones to bed. Bed is for sleeping. Smartphones and computers should live downstairs when kids are little.

And even so again, none of this is to defend Miley, who seems to be the type of person every parent would prefer their kids NOT to grow up to be.

      • The real me says:

So true!! It’s funny that when we become parents we think that our kids won’t be devious at times like we were. I had protective parents who were very involved and I pulled the wool over their eyes at times. I’m not arrogant enough to believe that mine won’t try and succeed at times. You do the best you can and hope they’ve listened to at least half of what you’ve said 🙂

    • msw says:

I agree. Celebrities and teachers are not supposed to raise my kids. And censorship is not the answer, imo. I’ve been teaching my daughter from a young age that i want her to ask me about adult situations if she has any questions, even if she is embarassed. We’re working on building a lifelong relationship of trust and emotional opnness that I hope will last through the time she needs it most. Miley won’t be around to teach her how to make good choices– I will be. Blaming celebs is a cop out. The best we can do is talk to our kids, build trust so they will come to you for answers andnot celebrities or friends, and hope for the best.

I can’t control Miley. I can control my own hands on role as a parent.

      • Hakura says:

@msw – Your approach is the best, as far as building an open line of communication between you & your child. That is *the* most important thing, because it will give you the opportunity to teach them rights & wrongs throughout their whole lives, not just as kids… & you’ll get chances to support them in ways you may otherwise have never had.

My brother is 21 now, & has always been *incredibly* open w/my mom & I about his relationships. (Not inappropriately so, but talking about sex in general terms, about girlfriends, where they are in their relationship, the condom he accidentally left in his pocket. She gave it to him & told him it’s much better to keep it in his wallet, so it won’t get all bent up xD!)

I feel the same way, & can talk to her about anything. It may weird some people out that we can be that open (within reason, of course), but I think it’s a beautiful thing that all parents should strive for.

  5. Shauna says:

Someone needs to get over herself. Most 20 year olds are either in college or working – ie, not focusing on how awesome they are 24/7.

    • Esmom says:

Seriously. I was always kind of neutral about her but recently I’ve come to actively dislike her.

      • TheOriginalKitten says:

Me too. I actually used to defend her now and then..no more. She needs to go away for a while.

      • Bijlee says:

I didn’t care at all in the beginning. I used to get annoyed with people that called her fat, but now I just find her annoying. I especially find her fans annoying and all this dang drama around her. It all makes me want to start an anti-fan club. I plan to call it Frowners.

1st order of business. Gather the squirrels and make them take back their queen miley cyrus. It’ll take care of Liam too, he’ll follow those squirrels.

2nd: Turn the beliebers into un-beliebers. Then we can start taking care of Jbieber and his bony ass

I have so many goals for this anti-fan-club.

      • Hakura says:

@Bijlee – “ It all makes me want to start an anti-fan club. I plan to call it Frowners.

xD! I assume the name (‘Frowners‘) is in reference to where she got the name ‘Miley’? (Just for those who don’t know: Her dad explained she smiled so much as a kid, they started calling her ‘Smiley‘, then once accidentally called her ‘Miley‘, & she decided she liked it more.)

    • Amanduh says:

Good call…it amazes me that these people have access to the most amazing educational institutions and don’t even bother.

    • whipmyhair says:

I understand what your saying, and agree to some extent; but how many other celebs her age are doing similar things? Drinking, drugs, partying (or dancing if you prefer alliteration)

I personally haven’t heard other celebs getting flak for their lifestyle; maybe Miley just brings up a strong reaction in people.

    • Mourning the Death of Music says:

Wouldn’t one need to actually BE awesome first? 😉

  6. Tapioca says:

I blame Rihanna for all of this!

If she hadn’t left her trash can of rejected tracks out where just about anyone could rummage through it, we wouldn’t have had to deal with the We Can’t Stop press tour.

Still, Miley already stole her hair, clothes, tatts, piercings and wholesale image so why stop there…

    • Pastyousayyouneverknew says:

HAHA! That’s true actually, I forgot that We Can’t Stop is a rihanna reject, and Miley seems to be borrowing a lot of the same IDGAF behaviour. Hmm.

    • KatieD says:

I can’t get over the fact that singers record something that wasn’t written by them or even FOR them, and then try to pretend it describes them perfectly, such as Miley & this horrible single. I suppose one try-hard’s trash is another try-hard’s treasure!

    • Hakura says:

@Tapioca – “Still, Miley already stole her hair, clothes, tatts, piercings and wholesale image so why stop there…

Let us not forget the crotch-grabbing, ass-shaking, pot-smoking-obsession, & raunchy ‘I am *SO* totally bisexual, guys!‘ behavior at various strip clubs.

Now all she needs is to play ‘yo-yo’ with a ‘true love‘ that beat the hell out of her, & she’ll be all set.
***(& that is NOT meant as making fun of that occurrence in any way, either).

  7. Leigh says:

She’s going to feel so ridiculous in 5 years when she looks back at this gem of a video and all her silly sound bytes.

    • whipmyhair says:

I think most of us feel that way.

I went through some old photo albums and I had a strong urge to chuck out all of my photos of my 17yr old self- my foundadtion was two shades to light… I looked like a ghost or a wannabe goth who just can’t get it right!

    • Chicagogurl says:

Agree about the sound-bytes. She’s not that intelligent and she comes off as so pretentious…she doesn’t get a pass for stupid just because she’s hot, but she does seem more harmless than most, stunted by Disney and fake rebelling at 20 y’all.

Admittedly, I had her body, I too would make a music video where I was mostly naked and I would watch they hell out of it when i was older (albeit on mute). I don’t remember what my thighs looked like without cellulite.

  8. Eleonor says:

As far as I know Pink has been wearing that haircut for let’s say 10 years before you.

  9. anneesezz says:

How can she take selfies with her head so far up her own A$$? Agree with the person that said (hopefully) she will be embarassed by how ridiculous she sounds and looks in 10 years. But, hopefully she won’t be relevant by then. She really isn’t that talented. It’s all style over substance and the style ain’t all that.

    • curegirl0421 says:

Hahahaha that’s awesome – and an excellent question. All I can think every time I see her these days is “MILEY STAHP” and “Dammit girl put your tongue back in your mouth.” Soooo trashy.

As to the pr0n issue, so she’s saying that because kids have access to it she should have no qualms about tarting herself around and acting like a hooker. Got it. And taking drugs = adulthood. Check. *eyeroll*

  10. Kate says:

Does your child go to school with anyone who has a smartphone? Because they get passed around.

Eight years ago kids at my school were watching porn, beheadings and all kinds of other stuff on their phones during classes. I can’t imagine what it’s like now.

    • Nicolette says:

It’s sick isn’t it? The internet is great for a lot of things, but there’s a lot of bad that goes along with it. Too much. That anyone can watch someone being beheaded is disturbing, even more so is why they would want to watch that. Kids today see so much at such young ages that nothing phases them later on. The innocence of childhood is rapidly disappearing. No matter how hard we as parents try to shield them and keep that innocence a little longer, it’s becoming increasingly difficult if not impossible.

  11. Willa says:

How many selfies does she need!!!???

    • mac says:

The extreme close up of her face is actually the first time I’ve thought she looks pretty. Something weird happens in her nose/mouth area when she wears a lot of makeup.

  12. bns says:

She is SO annoying. More try hard than Kristen Stewart.

  13. “Siri can even tell you how to dispose of a dead body”. That was actually pretty funny Miley! No, I still don’t like you.

  14. Melibea4ever says:

    Everybody is copying her?? Please!!

  15. A says:

That’s naive, maybe your daughter doesn’t want to see porn and such, but if she wanted to I guaranteed she could – by disabling parental controls, at a friends house, at school on someone’s phone…….

  16. stevie says:

I love that she says Karma is to be thanked for her current excessive wealth and ability to smoke weed all day ( well I guess, thanking Disney for making her famous is too mainstream?) And I guess that children raised in poverty did something bad in their past life to deserve that. STFU Miley.

    • Hakura says:

@stevie – “And I guess that children raised in poverty did something bad in their past life to deserve that. STFU Miley.

I am not defending, or trying to imply she’s not an entitled/arrogant moron w/an especially big mouth. But I *honestly* don’t think the comment was meant to imply that people who *aren’t* as privileged did something negative at some point to *deserve* it.

She obviously doesn’t *think* before she says things, & just needs to shut up in general.

  17. lisa says:

    photo #5 is unusually bucktoothed

  18. Kiddo says:

She sounds a bit lost and floundering to find herself. But she is right, she doesn’t have an obligation to raise, direct, or be a role model for children. That’s the parents’ jobs.

    • TG says:

You are right and since all of her fans are children if the parents were doing their job this ignorant trash would be out of a job. Same goes for that toddler Beiber.

  19. bowers says:

She’s probably not that educated; she’s at that totally self-centered age; she’s always been rich, and at least she’s not Paris Hilton.

She IS trying too hard though.

  20. poppy says:

still believe she is justin bieber’s twin sister but they have to share that one non-functioning brain.

“I’ve seen karma bite so many people. I’ve been lucky because the universe has done something right for me — karmically it’s always been really good to me. I must have done something right in my past life.” I get sick of this karma thing thrown around. Spare me.

So the three women held hostage and raped and tortured and beaten for over 10 years had bad karma when abducted in their teens? The young, innocent teen who went to the store and on the way back to her car in the parking lot was abducted and raped and killed had bad karma?

    Gag me.

    • TG says:

I also can’t stand when rich folks talk about how blessed they are. Like they are so special God blessed them and made everybody else suffer. It is called luck and/or hard work.

  23. TheOneAndOnlyOnly says:

She’s obsessed with social media because that’s the only thing that’s keeping her in the spotlight; God knows, it isn’t her beauty, charm, charisma, talent or magnificent singing voice – I just want to know who the hell are the tone deaf wonders that are her “fans?” Or is she mistaking her media followers as actual discerning music fans?

  24. Mayda says:

I like her better when she doesn’t talk.

  25. Hateonit. says:

Okay, yes, the generation of kids these days are terrible. Way worse than we probably could ever imagine. She is not the sole person to influence them in any way, shape or form. I’m not defending her because honestly I can’t stand the bitch butttttt I’m just saying. At the same time why ffs could she not just make a freakin normal video without sayin Molly, lines in the bathroom, twerking, and rolling around in the bed? She horribly unladylike in every way possible. The grillz are terrible on females. They just don’t go well with ANYTHING. EVER. her clothes are atrocious. She’s skinny but I doubt it’s because of any excercise. she sounds horrible in interviews and everyone keeps praising her for “finding herself” like no. she’s offensive. Her whole being annoys the crap out of me. She needs to learn she has ZERO sex appeal and to stick her freakin tounge back in her mouth before I shove it down her throat.

  26. ZigZagZoey says:

    Okay…Dumb question here….
Why is it pr0n, and not p0rn?
I know the zero is used to get by computers looking for the word porn, but why switch it to pron?

    • Nicolette says:

Thanks for asking, I was wondering the same thing.

    • UghInsomnia says:

It’s an intentional misspelling that started a long time ago. Like “teh.” Not sure about the motivation behind it.

    • Mourning the Death of Music says:

To further expand on what UghInsomnia said, it’s also a way to get around chat filters which would otherwise censor the word.

    • Lucrezia says:

I agree with everyone above: it came about due to people trying to avoid filters/searches.

The reason there are so many variants (porn/p0rn/pron/p0rn/p01n) is because the people who make filters aren’t dumb. As various forums add more words to their filter, the preferred misspelling changes.

However, the change isn’t that rapid these days. Even “porn” itself is rarely filtered … people use it in totally innocent ways, like talking about recipes/meals as “food-porn”.

  27. Jennifer12 says:

It sounds like Miley wants to hold on to her young audience, because they are the ones who will think she’s edgy, and because she knows they loved her when she was Hannah Montana. I never minded this girl, but she is really getting irritating. Who the hell out there is copying her? She really isn’t a major player at this point. She reminds me of Christina Aguilera, who is another person who is now embarrassed about her Disney involvement, and who blames her record company (as Miley does Disney) for her having a too-sweet image that wasn’t her and tries to be provocative to counter what she doesn’t want people to remember (Miley now and Xtina in her “Stripped” days). Todd at I Don’t Like You In That Way wrote something hilarious about Miley, about this rebel who got in her limo and had her makeup artists, stylists and hairdresser fix her up and then shot a druglord on her way to the interview.

    LILO 2.0. Mark my words.

    • Bijlee says:

Nah. As much as I dislike Miley Cyrus. She has good people around her. Her dad, her mom, and her faerie godmother DOLLY PARTON!!!!

Lilo had NONE of that. No one except users and abusers around her since her birth. The person I see becoming Lilo 2.0 is Justin Bieber. That boy is in similar circumstances. Honestly sometimes I feel so bad for that kid. Everyone uses him and contrary to popular belief that kid has been criticized incessantly and made fun of since he started. I really wonder what that feels like, when no one gives a sh*t about you except for your fame and money. I mean even his grandparents and mom and dad use him.

Besides Tish Cyrus is a motherfreakin genius. Her daughter is her cash cow and Tish is the reason Miley and Billy are so successful despite their mediocrity. THAT’S RIGHT SMILERS I SAID IT! COME AT ME B*TCHES!!! The woman has amazing hustle. She would NOT let that happen to Miley.

      • Tiffany :) says:

I agree that Beiber is going to be Lilo 2.0, BUT I think the Miley could easily suffer the same fate. Her parents are constantly on/off/on/off. When they are off, it seems they end up battling each other for her affection because she is the cash cow. (I gather this from their conversations over twitter and tmz, etc.)

It seems like Miley likes her parents as enablers, and if they don’t do or allow what she wants, then she sides with the other parent. That could lead to parents that look the other way at questionable behavior because they want to be in her good graces.

Being the parent of a wealthy, famous child is seriously challenging, especially when they are a legal adult. They can cut you out of their life in seconds.

      • Bijlee says:

@Tiffany It’s possible, but I don’t see it as likely as others. Her, Demi, and Selena seem to have more stable backgrounds than the Biebs. I feel like their falls will be less than Biebsters.

    • ZigZagZoey says:

      Mark my words..

      B+?

  30. KatieD says:

This girl is an insufferable poser. Everything that comes out of her mouth is a desperate attempt to seem grown-up and sophisticated. Miley, you are about as sophisticated as the 10 yr olds with Bieber posters on their walls. Get over yourself already.

    • TG says:

@KatieD you bring up a good point about how uninteresting Miley is and I realized that many of these celebs, Miley included, lack even a basic education and have only been surrounded by enablers and people who tell them how important and wonderful they are so their life experiences are going to be shallow and stupid. I mean I bet she has never followed any world event let alone a national event. Their world is all about them and that means partying, drugs, cutting their hair, tattoos and other nonsense. They have nothing interesting about them, no original thought. They are basically empty vessels going thru life but not really seeing anything. Basically I am describing the Kartrashians and Miley and all the rest.

      • Bijlee says:

A lot of her contemporaries are like this. Alot of actirs are likw that too. No education whatsoever. Which is why I’m always suspicious of what they say. When you don’t have that knowledge I feel like they rely heavily on what their managers and pr people tell them. Sorry but street smarts just don’t cut it anymore. More than half these people are probably manipulated and groomed to death. There’s just too much control and most of them just aren’t that bright. Their worlds are vapid and mostly empty with touring and ‘songwriting’ and endless partying, clothes, drugs, sex, and excercise. I don’t see the substance. They never seem to know anything beyond the good pr approved words they think are intelligent and who knows who approved that or wrote it. So I’m very untrusting of all this because it all seems so fake.

      • TheOneAndOnlyOnly says:

Excellent comment and also Bijlee’s; Beyonce certainly fits the bill, also.

  31. LilyT says:

  32. CatJ says:

If she would just go away until her real hair grew into a ponytail down to her butt, then she could give us a much needed break.
Does she really think anyone really cares about what she thinks of herself? This endless self-promotion and self-awareness is exhausting, and empty. Do something with your life Mylie, instead of talking about yourself all the time!!!

  33. tifzlan says:

Yeah, coz you’re the VERY FIRST WOMAN ON EARTH EVER to cut your hair short. *rolls eyes*

    Just disappear already.

  35. Kat says:

She literally makes me sick. Please simmer down, Miley, and refrain from putting what you call “music” and other useless comments out into this world of ours.

  36. AngelaH says:

She added that life will be great “if you make music because you love it and you don’t make it for any self-absorbed reasons, and you work really hard.”

I’m sure the piles of gold she has to live off of have nothing to do with that. We all know that only the most talented and deserving are successful…If you aren’t, you just aren’t working hard enough. It has nothing to do with who you know and what you were born into (and those checks from Disney). It’s only about the music (and the drugs, and partying and parading around in as little clothing as possible and posting selfies all the time and making sure everyone knows she went to Chanel).

    • Hakura says:

I’ve been having trouble sleeping the last few days. I think I’ve hit the wall of ‘over-tired’….Your apology brought to mind an image of the doorknob from (old-school animated) ‘Alice in Wonderland’, dictating as the White Rabbit hurriedly types up a displeased reply to your comment (on his smart phone, of course), so the doorknob will let him through (because he’s LATE!).

      …I haven’t been smoking anything, I swear!

  39. Norman says:

I know Miley Cyrus is an example of what a girl should not be in America but I am more concerned about the lack of parenting and on the other side helicopter parenting, lack of parental communication, poor state of public education and the removal of comprehensive sex ed from our public schools than I am worried about than the shenanigans of a wannabe bad girl.

  40. Dommy Dearest says:

I’m almost completely convinced Justin and Miley are the same person.

  41. St says:

She’s gonna be so embarrassed by this “phase” in a few years. And Bieber will be so embarrassed of those diaper pants in few years too. Just like Zac Efron is, i’m sure, embarrassed for that ridiculous haircut he was proudly wearing few years back. Specially now that he so desperately wants to grow into real adult actor.

And the most funny part is that he was wearing that hair to become popular and stay relevant. Mission accomplished. People knew who he was after he showed up at every even with that stupid hair. But now those same people can’t take him serious in his adult life. He will always be that teen with that silly hair. When other young actors even like Josh Hutcherson or Nicolas Hoult can star in big movies in supporting roles and people accept them as actors – Zac still can’t get any respect for his work. No one takes him seriously.

And you know in few years Miley will finish her slutty years and will want to become serious singer and will be surprised that people only take as that idiot who was undressing herself on every occasion. Just like Megan Fox likes to complain.

And people seriously were blaming Liam for dumping Miley. This is probably the way she behaves home too now. Like all: “I’m so sexy, dirty, streetly, punk, from the hood, smart, new icon for teens” and stuff.

    • Bijlee says:

Please. Liam sticks around for her money and fame. That’s possibly the only reason he agrees to this sham relationship. Liam is the lesser hemsworth. So far his roles have not been high profile and nowhere has his acting been lauded. I’m appalled he got top billing for Hunger games when he was in the movie for all of 10 minutes. Two of his movies have already gone straight to dvd. You would think hollywood would find him bankable (thors brother and being considered attractive across the board) but apparently not.

The only one that hasn’t is that paranoia film. And that’s only because there are actually other “serious” actors in that movie. The kid is not a great actor, nor does he seem a bankable star. He’s paired with the perfect girl who also CANNOT act to save her life.

He’s sticking around until his career actually takes off (lol if it EVER does), then he will dump her. For some reason she can’t let go of him. She needs to.
