It looks like Bethenny Frankel won’t have to worry about competing with Kris Jenner to land C and D list guests. Kris Jenner’s talk show has been canceled after just a six week trial run. Many people predicted this outcome and now it’s come to fruition. Sources say Kris’ show is all but over, although it’s worth noting that Kardashian sources are insisting nothing has been determined yet. Of course they are.
The mother-of-six turned manager was recently told, “There is no chance the talk show is going to get a green light from FOX. The ratings were averaging an abysmal 0.8 and advertisers were less than enthusiastic about it.”
“Kris did get a ratings bump for her last show when Kanye West revealed the first baby pic of daughter, North West, with Kim, but that was a one time shot in the arm and it wouldn’t be indicative of what the ratings trend would be,” the source close to the production told RadarOnline.com.
The revelation about Jenner’s demise leaves few standing in the crowded field of daytime talkers, including Katie Couric, Steve Harvey, as well as fall hopefuls Queen Latifah and Bethenny Frankel.
Jeff Probst and Ricki Lake were also cancelled after one season.
“It’s a very crowded market and Kris didn’t do anything to set herself apart from the field. Believe it or not, most of America doesn’t want to hear about the Kardashian’s for an hour everyday,” the source revealed.
FOX’s panel-format talk show The Real — which, like Kris, launched its test run on July 15 — is “expected to be picked up” after it edged out Kris in the key female demographics.
FOX isn’t expected to make a formal announcement for a few weeks, out of respect to current situation engulfing the family — the marital crisis of Khloe Kardashian and husband Lamar Odom.
“It will be announced in a low key fashion, probably on a Friday afternoon so it won’t generate a ton of negative press for Kris,” the insider added.
A source close to Jenner said: “There have been absolutely no discussions about this and FOX and Kris will not know for at least another month whether or not the show is coming back.”
All the stunt queen antics, baby reveals and rotating guest hosts weren’t enough to compete in a space where even standouts like Anderson Cooper didn’t last. Kris’ lame family stories and lackluster interviews just weren’t interesting enough.
As Kaiser reported earlier, Kris’ failed marriage to Bruce Jenner is featured on the upcoming cover of In Touch with her daughter Khloe’s marital problems. Apparently Kris isn’t wearing her wedding ring, and we’ve heard for months that she and Bruce are living apart. I think they’re separated but that they’ll get a divorce over Kris’ dead body. She’s not going to admit defeat, especially when Khloe is going through such public problems. Can you imagine, though, how she’ll smear Bruce in the press if he ever dares to talk?

I so happy it’s getting canceled. As a side note, Probst’s show was downright boring. I think a problem is that they run out if things to do every bloody day. I remember Nate Berkus (whose show was slightly more entertaining) stating that he made the big mistake of making his show daily and it got canceled…he also pointed out how hard it is to do a talk a show that lasts. Another problem is the hosts just think that having B and C stars is enough. The hosts need to be interesting and need to be able to take the reigns and not just rely on the stars to do the talking. Ellen is successful because she is a great host and owns that show.
I agree, not everyone can pull a talkshow off. The Kardashians and anyone associated with them need to be contained to one show on one channel, that way we know what channel to avoid at what time! It’s better for the world this way, the other option involves Aladdin, a magic carpet, a lamp, and a blue man …… but nevermind!

I know I’m totally cynical about most things, & even now, I can’t help wondering if this is the network’s attempt to create a ‘black’ version of Ellen. QL is extremely funny & likeable, & also gay, not that the topics of Ellen’s shows revolve around that fact, or anything.
I actually sort of wonder… if Kris was busy with her own talk show, how much would she have left her children alone? Would it have been a relief for them, and for all of us, if Kris could have had her little outlet? Almost too bad we won’t find out. She’s back on the phone with TMZ yammering about Lamar and whatever, bugging Kim about losing that baby weight, etc.
