Victoria Beckham to star in NBC reality show

There have been rumors of a Victoria and David Beckham reality show or some time, and it looks like it’s finally going to happen. Victoria Beckham has signed a $19.6 million deal with NBC for a reality series. It will chronicle her move from Britain to LA and will have her as the focal point. David is said to be involved, but Posh will dominate the show. Her three children will not feature prominently as she wants them out of the spotlight.

Former Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller – who also brokered David Beckham’s $250 million (£127 million) move to LA Galaxy – was in charge of sealing the NBC deal for Posh.

He told Daily Mail sister paper London Lite: “The Americans were falling over themselves to sign Victoria up for a TV show but we had to choose the right deal for her. NBC won out in the end as they have really taken a shine to Vic’s hilarious sense of humour and they want to capitalise on this.

“She is a funny lady and this new series will show this to the world.”

Vic, 32, has signed up for one series of the fly-on-the-wall show, which will follow her move to America. Producers want to see how popular it is before agreeing to recommission it. Hubby David, 31, will feature in the show, but we’re told he doesn’t want a very hands-on role… it’s all about Posh.

And she doesn’t want her three sons Brooklyn, seven, Romeo, four and two-year-old Cruz, involved as she’s always claimed she wants them to lead as normal a life as possible.

Her main priority is finding them a good school in LA, not to make them TV stars before they’re even 10 years old.

I’m sure she thinks it will let people know the “real” her. When I’ve seen her in interviews I’ve been impressed with how normal and personable she is compared to prim skinny orange image she projects. There’s always the danger though that the series will get out of hand and show aspects of her life she wants to keep private or twist events in an unflattering way. Maybe she thinks she’s in control of the angle it will take, and it sounds like they’re gunning to make her likeable and funny.

It’s good money and all but she doesn’t need it. It seems she wants people to know who she is and strives to be as famous in the states as she is in the UK. She’s already mobbed by photographers. It just seems like it’s going to backfire to me.

There’s a story in this week’s National Enquirer [print edition, March 5, 2007] that she’s made some outrageous demands at the private schools she’s reviewing for her boys. She told one that the athletic field needed to be cleared of all children twice a day so that her boys could practice soccer undisturbed. At another she pissed off faculty and ritsy parents when she brought a camera crew with her on campus. And there was said to be an incident with a pet potbellied pig at one of the science classrooms that chased her around the room. She was screaming and running in her tottering heels. Now that would have made for decent television.

Here she is at Elton John’s Oscar party AIDS Foundation benefit on 2/25. Pictures from Gossip Rocks.

Nobody is really interested in her Topaz and she knows it. Thast’s why she is so desperate to stay in the limelight that she will sacrifice her husband’s career, her children’s privacy and put her own marriage in jeopardy to do it. That makes her one fucking dumb, misguided and pretty darn unattractive bimbo.

Oh, puke-a-rama! Now we have to see her even more?? damn. Go away, Pugsly.

I’m mystified as to why anyone cares about this woman.

  4. julie says:

She can kiss that marriage goodbye. Who has been able to do a reality show and maintain a marriage? (Aside form the Osbourne’s, but they have drug-adled brains on their side.)

  5. Ocean says:

Does this woman ever smile? She looks like she’s ready to be stuffed into a coffin (a very small coffin)

eh, another reality TV show I will never watch. Face it, these celeb’s must believe they are genuinely liked by people. I look at them like a freak show.
