Chris Brown ‘knows he has a temper problem’ but it’s ‘too little, too late’

It only took Chris Brown a couple of days to check into “anger management rehab” in Malibu after he was arrested in DC for beating the hell out of some random guy. Word is that Chris could stay in “rehab” for as long as three months, which I think is a pipe dream considering he’s there voluntarily and he’s really only there to look good for his probation hearing in a few weeks. So what does the LA County Probation Department think about this? They are unimpressed.

Chris Brown hopes his stint in rehab for anger management may help him dodge a bullet in the Rihanna probation case … but our sources say probation officials see right through what he’s trying to do.

Sources connected with the L.A. County Probation Dept. tell TMZ … probation officials think Brown’s violent outbursts have escalated and checking into a rehab facility now is “too little, too late.”

The Probation Dept. is aggressively investigating last weekend’s incident in Washington D.C. where Chris was arrested for assault. As we first reported, probation officers interviewed Chris on Monday, hours before he checked himself into a Malibu rehab joint.

One source familiar with the case tells TMZ, “Probation is gunning for this guy. They’re embarrassed by what he’s done over the last 2 years and they’ve had it.”

We’re told the die has already been cast … Probation will submit a scathing report to the judge, who will decide whether to revoke Chris’ probation. If that happens, Brown could be sentenced to prison for as long as 4 years.

Yeah, don’t get too excited. “Probation is gunning for this guy” just means that the state of California will give Chris TWO slaps on the wrist instead of just one. And after the two slaps, Chris will cry and whine about the racist DA, the racist probation department, and how he’s just like Trayvon. TMZ also reports that Chris is now “admitting he has a problem”:

Chris Brown met with his probation officer Friday, and he squarely acknowledged he has a BIG problem with his temper … TMZ has learned.

Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ … Brown and his lawyer, Mark Geragos, went to the L.A. County Dept. of Probation Friday afternoon and had an hour-long chit-chat with his new probation officer. It’s unclear to us why a new officer was assigned.

We’re told Brown did not talk about allegedly throwing a punch at a guy in D.C. last Sunday. He did talk a lot about his current stint at a Malibu rehab joint, and the treatment he’s receiving. We’re told that treatment includes a heavy dose of psychological counseling.

As TMZ first reported … Brown could be in the rehab facility for as long as 90 days.

As for whether the Probation Dept. is impressed … we’re told not so much. As one well-placed source put it, “They’re gunning for Chris.”

We’ve learned the Probation Dept. will submit a report to the judge in the Rihanna case next week. The judge could revoke Brown’s probation and if that happens he could get as much as 4 years in State prison.

[From TMZ]

Four years in state prison? Don’t hold your breath, although let’s just spend a happy moment thinking about how awesome it would be if Chris actually did have to do four years…sigh. That would be amazing. But it won’t happen. If they’re talking about “four years” right now, that translates to “four days in jail plus some more community service which he’ll just end up lying about anyway.”

    EVERYONE is unimpressed.

LA county worships celebrities. Mis lawyer got a new probation officer who will give Chris a pass, the judge will give him a pass and he will check out of that country club I mean “rehab” the very next day. We all know the deal by now.

  3. Kristin says:

I was reading somewhere that this rehab was apart of a behind the scenes deal where Brown would go for a few months to avoid jail time, but it’s made to look voluntary for publicity.

It’s the only I can see why that usually mandatory drug test was dropped and why it was brought down to a misdemeanor, but who knows.

    • TheOriginalKitten says:

Yeah I was wondering if it was part of a deal…because you just know there’s no way Fist would do this out of a sense of moral obligation, or you know, sincerity.

  4. Eileen says:

I don’t think even the Clockwork Orange Therapy would work on this guy.

    • Katija says:

Nope. Full-frontal lobotomy is clearly the only way to go at this point.

    • ncmagnolia says:

God, if only this asshat didn’t have millions for attorney fees and back-room deals. Beater belongs in prison. In general population. Period.

I love the “two slaps on the writs instead of one”! And isn’t it the truth. When does this guy ever have to live with the consequences of his violent actions? It seems like never to me so he will continue to do this until he goes too far and kills someone. This is a sad situation.

  6. lovegossip says:

They aren’t going to do anything to him. Even if probation is revoked and jail time is recommended, the judge that makes the final decision will let him go, he will pay off the guy he beat up (if he hasn’t already) and go on his merry way. Rinse and repeat. Meanwhile, the random dude or dudette caught with a gram of pot will go down for 5 years. Ridiculous. 🙁

Sad little angry man-child. My nephew use to love and look up to Chris Brown when he first started singing. Once he hit RiRi, he lost all respect for him. I’m disappointed in him too because he’s very talented, but acts like a complete tool. He needs to grow the hell up and take responsibity for his actions!

    • Katija says:

At least he lost respect for him. I worry about the kids who can’t differentiate the music and the person. Remember all those “Chris Brown can beat me!” Tweets?

  8. socalgal says:

Chris it’s ‘Too late to apologize.’

    I’ll see myself out…..

  9. Samtha says:

Face it. Unless celebs screw with the IRS, they can get away with anything.

  10. TherapyCranes says:

I wish he would get punished like he deserves. Maybe then he would stop acting like a little brat and actually grow up. LA county is so nauseating.

  11. oldschool says:

I hope you doing well Chris
    God bless you
