Vivica A. Fox is the latest celebrity to be busted for DUI

The latest celebrity busted for DUI is plastic-surgery challenged Vivica A. Fox. She was busted on the freeway going 80 in her Escalade. When she got pulled over she failed the field sobriety test and was hauled in to jail, where they gave her two breathalyzer tests. Cops didn’t reveal how far off the legal impairment limit she registered, but they say it was “definitely over” the .08 level.

It happened last night on the 101 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley at 10:57 PM. We’re told Fox passed a marked black and white while going approximately 80 mph. Sources say the officers went after the 2007 Cadillac Escalade she was driving.

The officers administered a field sobriety test — which Fox was unable to perform. The former “Dancing With the Stars” contestant was then placed under arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Fox was taken to Van Nuys jail where she submitted to two breathalyzer tests. CHP spokesman Leland Tang told TMZ, “It was definitely over the .08 legal limit.”

I’ve heard of Fox but I don’t really know why she’s famous. A cursory IMDB glance shows that she’s been in a lot of television shows and crappier movies. I sort-of remember her in Kill Bill. She was also on “Dancing with the Stars” last year, where judges praised her, but she didn’t get enough call-in votes to remain in the competition.

Can I just say that the public transportation in America is lousy? I don’t want to stir up a whole controversy here, but we have one car in Switzerland and the tram and bus are so convenient and easy to use that I would rather take them than drive.

People definitely need to take responsibility and be harshly punished for driving drunk. There need to be alternatives too though. It’s not a cut and dried solution since the roads and infastructure in the states were built for cars. It’s big in America and would not be as simple to set up reliable and convenient transportation for each small city and town. Still, the few times I tried to take the bus I got confused and couldn’t understand the schedules and stuff. The commuter trains were a lot easier.

My point is that there needs to be a better way to get home than driving drunk. There are always cabs and friends to call, though, and Fox should have known way better.

What is with all these drunk driving celebrities lately? Like they can’t afford cab fare. I can’t say I never did when I was young and stupid but you eventually have to grow up and realize you are an idiot. I wish there was a way to get it into people’s heads before they do it that it’s wrong.

America is indeed a big place and many cities are known for their excellent public transportation systems. Not my city of course, but many are. They’re putting in a lightrail system here which I think is not going to help a thing and our bus system sucks royally.

The punishment for drunk drivers should be MUCH HARSHER than it is.

There is ZERO excuse for drunk driving. If you cannot afford to take a cab, then do get yourself into the position.

Jail time should be mandatory for all DUI’s.

    No lienancy.

Too many families have been the victims of negligence of drunk drivers.

In the middle east they chop off hands for stealing, which of course is a bridge too far, but I think the method has proven to be a pretty big detterent. We should institue much harsher punishments for drunk drivers.

This lady is terrible to do this, and I am glad she is caught, particularly as she has means enough to afford cab rides and or a personal driver, lack of good public transportation aside.
Thank God, that with money does it, because they have the means to afford a personal driver.

I agree she needs to get some poor guy to haul her around. Where are her friends?

I am in Geneva Switzerland and love life sans car. With the rail, tram and bus lines one cannot go wrong. Oh yeah also the most punctual in the world!

I remember telling my in-laws we would ride the bus to the museum…crickets where chirping. But after seeing little old ladies in fur coats, beautiful people in Gucci, business people as well as teens and familes all riding the bus togerther they got over it. Imagine.
