Halle Berry gave birth to her first child last March, a daughter she named Nahla Ariela. Before she got pregnant, Halle was always very open about her desire to have a baby. Then after she announced her pregnancy, she told Oprah how much fun she and her live-in boyfriend, Gabriel Aubrey, had trying to get pregnant.
Halle is now telling People Magazine that she and Gabriel would like to have another child. And the little heartbreaker-in-training Nahla is already talking!
She may be their only child for now, but Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry’s daughter, Nahla Ariela, will be getting a brother or sister – if the proud papa gets his way.
“She needs a sibling,” Aubry told PEOPLE at Monday’s Callaway Golf Foundation Challenge at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif., to benefit the Entertainment Industry Foundation. “I think it’s important.”
“I’ve never known anybody who’s had a single child [and] I’ve always been around big families,” adds Aubry, who comes from a family of eight children. “I believe in big families.”
And what does Berry, 42, think of his plans to expand the family?
“She’s okay with it,” he says. “Absolutely.”
Aubry says toddler Nahla is walking and talking, and even practicing a second language.
“I don’t want to say [what her first words were] but it was probably ‘dada,’ ” he says. “She doesn’t say ‘dad.’ She says ‘papa,’ which is the French version of it.”
But to not hurt anyone’s feelings, says Aubry, “Let’s just say she said, ‘mama.’ “

“Papa”? How cute, because he’s French-Canadian. I saw a couple of gossipy reports this morning that Halle is actually pregnant again right now, but I doubt it. If she were already knocked up, I think she would’ve marched down to Oprah’s studio to share the good news.
I really hope Halle gets pregnant again – she and Aubry sound like wonderful parents, and their genes are magnificent!

She looks like she might be pregnant. But because of her “advanced maternal age”-she may be waiting to announce after she has a cvs or amnio.
I do hope she’s preggers again. She’s always talked about how she’s wanted kids and adores kids so much. It’s always nice when someone who really wants children finally gets them 🙂
I really love Halle. She’s had some turbulent years in the spotlight but she seems so centered and grounded now. Mommyhood looks good on her!
I just think that baby is one of the most gorgeous little munchkins I’ve ever seen. I hope they have another healthy baby.
Quit talking about it and get going on it! Wanting and doing are two separate things.
If she is already pregnant (and I wouldn’t be surprised if that were the case) she is likely waiting until they’re far enough along to say anything. No one wants to be Lily Allen – and a number of pregnancies do end in the first trimester. Plus, in Halle’s case, as with a lot of celebs, she’ll start getting double the pap attention as soon as she announces. Double for Halle would pretty frightening!
’42’ is not really advanced maternal age anymore….it’s fairly common (among people I know)….esp. since she already has a child;conception is more likely to take [if it were her first at 42,then yes,it is harder statistically to conceive and sustain.]So many times,it’s the mind that gets in the way-i’ve heard so many stories of women I know,around 40,who had to contend with negative comments from drs.,friends,family about whether they could or should conceive-the stress absolutely affects outcome in this case.

Papa… to cute! I love to see two people who want and love children. I also think she’s already pregnant. Last time she didn’t tell until her 3rd month. Plus she’s been looking a little run down since she got back from DC. I think its morning sickness. But if not Happy Humping!
Douby if the pap attention will double (post 6) because Nahla isn’t what you would call a knock-out; especially considering who her parents are. She is not as photogenic (gifted in the looks department) as the Jolie-Pitt clan.

11mons and she’s already speaking some words in French. Looks like Gabriel is making sure his kids will speak french as well as english. This family is to cute.
Good luck to them! I knew Gabriel would want more than one kid. Halle is already 42 so better get cracking on the second kid considering she has diabetes and there’s health concerns the older she gets. Then again maybe she was smart when she was much younger and froze some eggs.
Irm, 42 really IS advanced maternal age. It is becoming more common, so it seems like it isn’t…but it is still older than ideal for having a baby. It’s not stress and worry that cause the problems, as you imply. It is the physiological changes that a woman’s body goes through once she gets past around age 35. This is why risks for birth defects go up so dramatically and why pregnancies in older moms are watched so much more carefully.
I don’t think there is a thing in the world wrong with a woman in her 40s giving birth, so don’t bash me. I’m just pointing out that a 22 year old body is different than a 42 year old body, and those differences are very real and must be accounted for when considering a pregnancy.
Medically 42 is very much AMA (Advanced Maternal Age). After 35 yo is considered AMA. Also, not everyone gets a CVS or Amnio when they are AMA. Either way she will make another super cute baby!!

42 is old no matter how many women do it. I have friends who are honest; they say while glad they could have children at 40+ that it is more exhausting to be an older mom. (Of course no one admits this in Hollywood) Those who could compare having had children in their 20’s and 40’s admit it was physically harder to do as much of the running up down, playground, playdate things that they had the energy to do with their first children, many stated those later babies were forced to endure a more sedate upbringing lol. I think Halle has a good chance for another baby, she has taken care of herself and has the right situation to offset being in her 40’s
No matter how good you might look your body knows how long its been here; at 40 you’re 2 generations in whether you have had a baby or not.lol
I think she needs to be put on birth control as well as Angelina. Not good role models for being a mom. Get married instead of fornicating with toy boy. She’s as bad as the old farts with the young girls
