Isla Fisher wore Oscar de la Renta at the SAGs last night and positively killed it on the red carpet. I always wished Isla became a bigger star after her well-timed comedy in Wedding Crashers many years ago. Mostly her career has derailed due to some awful role choices, so maybe she’ll make a comeback. This dress is a decent start.
This is one of my favorite looks of the evening. Isla looks fantastic in white, and this satin dress looks like it was made specifically for her body. Her hair rolls in glamourous waves, and that red lipstick is perfect. Isla accessorized with a Ferragamo clutch and Bulgari jewels. My absolute favorite part of this look is a mere detail: that emerald/diamond wrap bracelet. Stunning.
Sarah Paulson went all cutesey in a white, ruffly Rochas gown. This is far too much pouf and petticoat for the red carpet. Poor Sarah looks like a 1950s debutante in such a dress. I guess that was the point? Sarah accessorized with Lorraine Schwartz jewels. I do dig the bobbed haircut. She pulls it off very well. The hot pink lipstick though? Way too precious.
Elisabeth Rohm wore Marchesa, and I’m amazed because I actually like this dress. It’s a little bit bridal but still cool. This dress hugs in all the right places, and the usual Marchesa lacy details come together like they never have until now. Elisabeth’s hair and makeup are done but yet undone, and the messy updo is perfection.
Hannah Simone wore … you guessed it. Now this is the Marchesa I know and hate so well. This dress got all of the feathers and looks like a bridemaid’s dress from hell.
Gretchen Mol was on hand for Boardwalk Empire. She used to be an “it” girl, remember? Gretchen wore J. Mendel with Kwiat jewels. This was a pretty bland look except for the leg slit. At least it wasn’t Marchesa.

Everyone apart from Hannah and Sarah looks great.
I confused Gretchen Mol for Kate Hudson. They could be twins.
Isla Fisher looks lovely. I agree that she should have became a bigger star after Wedding Crashers, but she made some poor choices and also had a break after having children.

Isla – perfection. The rest are too something for me – too poofy, to lacy, too ruffley, too bland. Not everyone looks great in white.
Isla killed it. This is one of the best looks she has ever had. I wish Hannah would take some fashion risks. She’s so freakin gorgeous but doesn’t really play up any of her wonderful features.

Gretchen intrigues me. Maybe it’s her creepy character on Boardwalk Empire. All I know is I notice her now in a way I never did before.

I think that Hannah Simone looks very pretty, very 60s. Maybe she didn’t want to do the sex-bomb thing since that’s how she’s typecast on New Girl, as the sexy, “exotic” girl. Ugh, I hate that show so much.
Isla look gorgeous! Sarah Paulson looks silly…if you put two bright, round circles on her cheeks, she would look like a little girls doll….the rest look meh!

Exactly what I thought re: Gretchen Mol and Marchesa. Given the (admittedly gossip-based) history there, I don’t think Marchesa is dressing Gretchen Mol.
Was she involved with Weinstein? How this man gets women – other than the obvious – I’ll ever know.
@mayamae: It’s gossip, but there were very persistent rumors that she had a fling with Weinstein back in the day, which is how she got that Vanity Fair cover touting her as the “New It Girl” when nobody really knew who she was. I’m pretty sure this was before he got together with Georgina Chapman… However, he has definitely strong-armed actresses to wear his wife’s designs.
Loving Isla’s gown, it’s old Hollywood glamour to me.

Do you really think Gretchen Mol will ever wear Marchesa given her history with Harvey Weinstein? I think not. Isla looks gorgeous. I think she must have the patience of a saint given who her husband is (was? Are they still together?
Isla Fisher’s warm skin tone (combined with the red hair) does not look good in a cool colour – she needs warm, rich colours. Sarah Paulson is the same – and her dyed hair makes things even worse…such a bad choice.
On the other hand, Kate Hudson and Hannah Simone have cool skin/eye tones and look good in the colour of their dresses.
