Chris Evans in the new ‘Captain America: Winter Soldier’ trailer: intriguing?

Chris Evans

Here’s the latest poster for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The Photoshop factor here is enormous. Both Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson have had their hips whittled and waists elongated. I guess they truly look like action figures now, which is kind of spooky. I do think the internet has finally worked past the dreadful rumors that Evans might be replaced as Cap after this sequel or Avengers: Age of Ultron. I doubt that will happen. That story was scandalous enough that it caused a bit of a furor because Chris has been wholly cooperative throughout all of his professional duties for Marvel. He gives great interviews, and he’s not only the face but the booty of the franchise.

Speaking of fine booty, Marvel and Evans delivered well in the first trailer for The Winter Soldier. Now the latest trailer has premiered at the Super Bowl, and we’re getting a whole lot more of Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier. Oh and Kaiser’s man, Anthony Mackie gets some decent airtime as Falcon. Let’s do this:

So I’m assuming that Scarlett’s Black Widow is on hand to explain the Soviet origins of the Winter Soldier. The dude is super strong (which we hear as he kicks some poor fellow into a quinjet) and delights in pulling the steering wheel out of a car. Winter Solder is one scary mofo and knocks poor Falcon out of the sky. The ex-Bucky even tosses Cap’s shield right back at him, which has to be super painful. It also looks there’s some good guy-on-guy, hand-to-hand combat between Evans and Sebastian Stan. Oh, and who the heck was the dead character underneath that sheet? INTRIGUE. Thank goodness it isn’t Cap unless he managed to pull a Loki and be two places at once in the same frame. I’m glad to see that Black Widow is still holding her own in the Marvel universe. She can’t jiggle too much in this outfit, but that’s a good thing when one leaps from tall distances.

A 30-second big-game spot can be seen here. It’s pretty much a shorter version of the trailer. I can’t wait for this sequel. I gleefully skipped Thor 2 in the theaters but plan on making it for dat Cap ass.

I say this as a merely enthusiastic and only vaguely knowledgeable Marvel fan – YUSS! To ALL the things!!

They should be ashamed at what they’ve done to Scarlett Johansson on that poster though. Was it really necessary to also add in the pubic shadow triangle of doom in there?!? (Please tell me I’m not the only one who sees it)

I always laugh at how much money these Marvel comic movies make because other than the effects the movies are crap. They turn even the best actors into terrible ones. I still laugh at how bad ScarJo, Renner, Portman, Pearce and Ruffalo were in their respective movies.

I wait till they come on HBO.

I thought Ruffalo was fun as Hulk but for the others

    • SonjaMarmeladova says:

I agree on everyone apart from Ruffalo. He’s my favourite Hulk.
I only saw Avengers and Thor 1 & ” because of Tom Hiddleston, are other movies any good?

The movies are entertaining for what they are. I like the Iron Man movies best but I would not actively go to a theater to see one. I am just bored with comic book movies. Too much hype and not enough substance in my opinion.

I personally loved the first “Captain America” movie. Hayley Atwell is awesome as the female lead, the supporting cast of “sidekick” characters are really good and it’s fun seeing the links to the other parts of the Marvel Universe (Howard Stark, Tony’s Dad, having a hand in the development of Captain America). Plus seeing Chris Evans as a weedy little dude for the first half of the movie is just hilarious.

Comic Book movies are usually geared towards younger boys and comic book fans. Geez people lighten up, they are not trying to produce oscar worthy material. Next I guess you’re going to have a problem with movies like Toy Story or Cars.

        +1000

It’s just trying to be a fun movie! Plus I think the movies are geared to not only comic fans and younger crowd but also to just pop culture fans in general and people are buying it. Avengers box office alone is a testament to that. +1Billion dollars, and it was critically well received on top of that. Even critics realize it’s not going for the oscar but just going for fun.

These movies are fantastic pieces of lady porn. Nothing more, nothing less. And I am extremely thankful they exist. Dat Cap Asssssss! *hearteyes*

All the people you listed as people with stand alones, you’re wrong. Not a single person has had a stand alone Marvel film. Cheese? Hi, did you read the comics? Did you know Disney owns Marvel? Blame them for the PG/PG-13 ratings. Iron Man one was the only good movie out of that trilogy. The comics held light hearted themes and they have some pretty intense shit that happens (Lookin’ at you, DC). So knowing that Disney owns them you can’t expect them to be what they should be which is danger, killing, addictions, etc that make the characters dark. If they actually had Stark the way he was from the comics he wouldn’t have the huge fanbase he has now ever since the movies came out (Not AS big mind you). I’d personally love to see a channel like HBO or Showtime make mini-series of some of the comics. THAT would be worth watching and paying cause you’d actually get the world of comics translated to the screen.

Love Sebastian Stan!!! So good looking.

I had no idea who this guy was until he portrayed my beloved Bucky Barnes in the first movie, and now I love him. I hope he gets to do lots and lots of interviews and photo ops this time around. I’m also looking forward to him being in another movie I can stomach to watch. He’s a decent actor but good lord, he is in so many terrible things. Right now all I have to work with is Captain A 1, two episodes of OAUT (the others are too terrible to sit through), and Political Animals (and I fast-forward through huge chunks of that mediocrity to get to his scenes).

I’m calling dibs on Sebastian Stan right now.

    • Annabelle says:

He really is! He’s also doing a great job at portraying a villain. The Winter Soldier looks really badass.

  4. Mia4S says:

It looks….meh? It looks like I should be really really excited, but in all honesty it’s just more of the same. I guess I’m a bit more excited for Guardians of the Galaxy because at least it’s trying something different.

  5. MonicaQ says:

This and the T-Mobile commercials are the only things that made the Super Bowl bearable oh god yes.

  6. Ellen says:

I’m not sure they are keeping the Soviet origins of the Winter Soldier. Or, if those were the origins, I’m not sure he’s working for Russia anymore. But I never know whether to believe the comic-book sites or not. (I love the idea of the rumored change, although I loved the original comic-book story, too.)

  7. Lipsy says:

I doubt Anthony Mackie will be in much promotion for this film due to his latest DUI.

  8. Tiffany27 says:

READY FOR THIS. BRING ON THAT CAP A**!

  9. Jenna says:

Dat Cap Ass……Me gusta. That is all.

  10. 'p'enny says:

“This outfit it is so tight, want to have a rousing discussion about truth, honour and patriotism….”

    sorry, couldn’t resist.

I like Chris Evans, Cap in Avengers, but he isn’t all there in the brains dept and his acting in the clips for this new film is rather wooden. However, the guy with long dark hair…mmmmm might be worth watching.

  11. T. Fanty Fan says:

NO. There is nothing about this man or this character that is interesting. Ever. I love everyone else. Chris Evans is pitiful

  12. Dommy Dearest says:

    SO READY.

Also: Widow and Bucky use to date (pretty seriously). That’s why she’s in the movie. She’s there to ‘possibly’ bring Winter Solider to the good side. And give major feels.

  13. ns says:

why did they need to halve the size of SJ’s waist here? so incredibly gross.

  14. INeedANap says:

I LOVE YOU MAD HATTER!!! #OUaT

    Sorry, what?
