Angelina Jolie: ‘Knoxy made me a picture of Maleficent that they made into a ring’

jolie1

So far, Angelina Jolie’s press in advance of Maleficent has been a goldmine of Jolie-Pitt information. In her ELLE interview, we learned: that Zahara’s nickname is “ZZ”; that Vivienne refuses to leave her mom’s side, and that Brad Pitt brought a neverending love to The Leg’s Cold Heart. Now, in Angelina’s People Mag cover story this week, Angie is revealing so much more. Vivienne’s nickname is “Vivi”. Knox is called “Knoxy” (Foxy Knoxy? Perhaps when he’s older) and Brad inspires the kids to be creative:

Angelina has been wearing a Maleficent ring that Knox designed: “Brad’s really creative with the kids, so they made a bunch of things like pillows and notebooks. Knoxy made me a picture of Maleficent that they made into a ring.”

Vivienne helped decorate Angelina’s office: “Vivi made me stationery and pillows for my office.”

Pax draws too: “I loved Goofy when I was little. So Pax drew me a Goofy shirt. I wore that with a crown Vivienne found for me.”

The kids as wedding planners: “We are discussing it with the children and how they imagine it might be. Which is verging on hysterical, how kids envision a wedding. They will, in a way, be the wedding planners. It’s going to be Disney or paintball – one or the other!”

Parenthood with Brad: “You’re not lovers or boyfriend and girlfriend as much as you are a family.”

What’s your favorite nickname so far? I’m partial to Vivi and Knoxy. I like ZZ, but I think it’s cuter when we call Zahara “Z” or “Queen Z.” I’m sure Maddox has lots of nicknames too – didn’t she used to call him Madness? Pax is already a short name and it sort of sounds like a nickname already, so I guess he doesn’t get one. And Shiloh? Angelina tends to call her “Shi,” right?

I’m including the best shot I can find of Knoxy’s ring, you can see a better version here.

“Vivi” is cute, although I know a little Vivienne who goes by “Viv” and I like that, too. “Knoxy,” not so much. I see that as more of a parental endearment than an actual nickname. And “ZZ” reminds me too much of ZZ Top, which my teenage son has recently discovered, lol.

Vivian Leigh used to be called “Vivling” by her friends, and I always thought that was very charming. 🙂

I will never understand why AJ is ever photochopped…they took her mole above her eyebrow and everything.

    • doofus says:

I wonder, too. the woman is gorgeous with no ‘shopping…even her skin in RC photos looks flawless.

and it’s depressing…if they feel they have to photoshop a beauty like that, what does that say about the rest of us “unwashed masses”? 😉

    • Esmom says:

I think people who do retouching just can’t help themselves. They will always find something…a job security issue maybe. 🙂

  3. MrsBPitt says:

How cool that they took the kids drawings and had pillows and things made…what great memories to keep, and I’m sure the kids thought that was awesome. I have to admit whenever I see pics of the kids, Knox is becoming my favorite. He is so calm, cool, and always smiling…he is going to grow up to be a handsome guy, just like his daddy…

    • lisa2 says:

IIRC she said that one year for Mother’s Day or Christmas Brad made a blanket for her of the kids drawings.. I love that. It is beyond sweet and all about the kids giving their mother something.

    • KodochiiR says:

      Knox is adorable.

I think I recall her just calling Maddox “Madd” never heard any other name.

  5. Andrea1 says:

Sounds like a very cool family 🙂
She has an amazing face that’s all…

I have often wondered if all the personal interviews really increase the number of people who see a movie?

As for the family – I think all families are pretty neat – each has their own special thing they do. As for hollywood many of them do not talk about such personal information so we never know what they did for mothers days. Well except for Kim and Kayne and the likes.

    • lisa2 says:

They may not talk about it but they put it on Instagram and such. Angie doesn’t give interviews to my knowledge unless she is promoting. I don’t think she really gave any true personal details. She told a few things the kids made. there were no pictures of them in the article. We know they made her pillows she didn’t show them. She had that ring on way before the article came out. nobody said anything about it. Now after they went searching. I don’t ever see personal pictures of them in their home outside W Magazine. And even then you didn’t see full face on the kids.

do these things put butts in the seats.. no don’t think so; but it is giving the fans information from her instead of the tabloids.

Nice try – but Cate Blanchett and Nic Kidman and Naomi Watts and other celeb mom’s were all asked about mothers day at Cannes and elsewhere..stars who happen to be Moms are typically asked what they did for Mothers day (and on other holidays), especially if they’re doing press junkets for films when Mother’s day rolls around. DUH.

It’s s nothing new and didn’t start with Angelina Jolie. I’m sure Liz Taylor and Joanne Woodward got asked the same things back in 1964.

I think those like you find it upsetting because you kind of wish, perhaps like anuston, that you didn’t ever have to hear or see anything about Angelina and her lovely children or her adoring man.

Sad, creepy and horrifyingly pathetic considering it’s been a decade since two people decided to mutually end a 4 yr childless rebound union that they were both miserable in and which had nothing to do with you.

and nothing to do with you, either, and yet you were the first to bring it up.

        Hence, BALLS.

      • Just Passing Through says:

BALLS. (the legitimate reason, depsite what others profess them to be)

      • lenje says:

Hi tiny, do you see lisa2’s comment above? That’s how to answer an innocent question decently.

      • Ashley says:

Sad,creepy and horrifyling pathetic-pretty much sums up you and your entire post tinyjones.

    • tinyjones says:

Actress Moms doing press junkets absolutely talk about their families, and Mother’s Days as well if the holiday falls during the press junkets. They ask about Christmas and Thanksgiving and assorted other hokidays as well. So please get off it. Just because you get irate over only Angie’s discussion of her family, is no reason to pretend ignorance. I learned about Cate, and Kate and Gwyn and Nicole and Meryl’s families from their own interviews. So why get on only Angelina’s case?

Also question for Mindy…or maybe more of a statement…if aniston ever in life decides to adopt a child or have a surrogate have one for her..or by some miracle at her advanced age has her own..will you really be upset and/or making some snide comment if some hapless entertainment reporter asks her how HER Mother’s Day was, and she answers? I in it hard to believe you’d begrudge Rachel from waxing lyrical about her behbehs.

Afterall it’s not too different from aniston going on ellen for no reason and bringing bald tiny hipsters dancing shoes so ellen can ask him to dance the following day on her show. Nor is it diff from baking a cake at home with your douche love John Mayer and sharing pics of that with oprah. I don’t recall the snide insinuations of personal over share then?

      • Esmom says:

Geez, I don’t see mention of Aniston anywhere in what she wrote and you think she’s being creepy and horrifying? Lighten up a bit.

Comments like this are what BALLS are made for.

      • Just Passing Through says:

        BALLS squared.

      • Tulip Garden says:

Esmom, agree that posts like this just beg for BALLS….so I will toss one of mine in as well. 🙂

      • Maggie says:

        Here’s a few more…. BALLS!

      • Cecilia says:

I’ve got a few extra BALLS to throw in. PLAY BALL(S) !!

  7. Kim1 says:

I don’t believe anything written in the tabloids even if it is positive
