Rob Kardashian ‘feels that the reality show has truly ruined his family’

Rob Kardashian

These are photos of Rob Kardashian leaving Gunnar Peterson’s gym a few days ago. TMZ says that Rob nearly drove over the paparazzi, but alternate theories hold that Kris Jenner directed Rob to get papped at a gym. Any gym. Gunnar is the same trainer who has been chatting up Rob’s weight loss strategy. Gunnar is a very well-known celebrity trainer in his own right, so I don’t know why he’s talking to the press — unless it’s a prearranged deal. Which it very well may be.

The last time we touched base with Rob, he was arguing with Kim. She thought he was bringing down the family name with his fatness. That’s hilarious because we know the whole family is famous because of Kim, and we all remember how she came to fame. Rob’s family and friends are supposedly full of concern, but Kendall and Kylie Jenner think he’s just fine. The youngest Jenners visited GMA yesterday and said “He’s doing really well.” For a guy who, you know, fled his sister’s wedding after she bashed his weight.

Radar has a new report about Rob and how he’s planning to ditch his family. I have no idea if this is true or part of the Kris Jenner orchestra:

He’s had enough.

Rob Kardashian no longer wants to be a part of Keeping Up With The Kardashians and has drastically cut back on filming, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

Since returning from sister Kim Kardashian‘s wedding, which Rob chose not to attend, the sock mogul “has been holed up in his house, and hasn’t been returning calls from concerned family members. Rob made the decision months ago that he didn’t want to have a recurring storyline on the upcoming season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians and drastically cut back on filming,” a source told Radar.

“Rob feels that the reality show has truly ruined his family, and that momager Kris Jenner is always on the look out for the next big deal for one of her daughters. His significant weight gain has only added to the stress in his life. He has been working out but has very bad eating habits. He just feels very alone.”

Upon returning to Los Angeles, Rob deleted all his old Twitter postings and started fresh.

Radar broke the story: After Rob arrived in Paris for Kim‘s wedding, the siblings got into a heated argument in which the sex tape star accused her brother of leaking negative stories about her to the media. Adding insult to injury, the source claims Kim also hurt Rob’s feelings by bringing up his weight.

With sister Khloe Kardashian filming out of state for Kourtney & Khloe Take The Hamptons, “Rob feels more isolated than ever. Everyone in his family is off doing their own thing, but no one seems that concerned with Rob’s well-being,” the insider added.

[From Radar]

Do you really believe that Rob, “sock mogul,” is planning to leave the Klan for good? He probably doesn’t receive residuals for his past appearances on KUWTK. I doubt his sock business would support him. Rob sells socks for $30 per pair, but no one really buys them. I think he’s trapped in the family business until he decides to go back to school or get a different job. What do I really want for Rob? For him to be happy, healthy, and to wake up from the materialistic ways of the Klan. He could forge his own way by shunning the family business and becoming a better person. I have no problem believing that the E! family shows have ruined the Klan for good. Rob still has a chance to escape.

    Hahahahaha “sock mogul”, really? Reallllly?

Ok, on a more serious note I do hope that he can get away from the show / Kris / etc and get help, if this truly is a case of him slipping into depression and whatnot. I still sorta wonder if this isn’t all staged for the TV show but at the same time he doesn’t seem to be happy at all, so who knows? Just get away from Kris, Rob…run!

    • Lollipop says:

I’ve seen an E! special on Spencer and Heidi Pratt. He went back to school and they seem to be doing okay. Robb could do the same.

      • yuck says:

I’ve always thought that would be the smart thing for him to do. If you’re not reasonably good-looking (or willing to be tweaked to become more attractive) in the Kardashian family, I don’t believe they have much time for you. I hope he sorts himself out, I always thought he was way more “real” than any of his sisters and CERTAINLY a whole lot more than his PimpMom.

      • me says:

Spencer went back to school after his fame vanished and the public didn’t care anymore. With Rob, his family is still very much in the spotlight. The paps would still be following him on campus…unless he goes to school out of state, like Iowa or something…but then he’d have to deal with other students mocking him or taking pics and vids of him and selling them to TMZ. He might as well just write a tell-all book lol trust me it would sell.

    • HH says:

I still remember that episode of KUWTK when they did a supposed family therapy session. Rob broke down crying and only Khloe ran after him. Kourtney was also sympathetic and in tears, but Kris and Kim just sort of sat there. All of her kids have stated multiple times that they feel Kim is the favorite child (and I believe Kris may have admitted this) and this should absolutely HURT any *good* mother. For any of your children to feel less important than another child should be upsetting. Everything about that moment was so…. odd and frustrating. It may or may not have been staged, but if Kris was willing to let herself look so awful on TV and embarrass her son, then she truly is a monster.

      • me says:

They did a lie detector test on their show once. They hooked PMK up to the machine and had someone interpret the results. They asked her if Kim was her favorite child and she said yes. The test showed she was telling the truth. How horrible of her.

      • Bob Loblaw says:

It’s not that unusual for a parent to favor one child over another. I agree Kris is far too extreme in her favoritism but it is a very common family dynamic. Being the favorite doesn’t have to come at the expense of your siblings.

  2. Ollyholly says:

I have a hard time understanding why now that he’s fat and depressed people think we should be on his side, when he has a documented past of calling other people fat, calling ex girlfriends whores and sluts, and being a general douche.

But yeah, he’s fat now, so all is forgiven? He’s no better than the others.

    • hotnerd says:

      AMEN.

    • eliza says:

      Could not agree more.

People conveniently (or maybe are blissfully unaware) he is a cheater, a former fat shamer himself, a misogynist and all around ill tempered brat.

He was despicable to both that Cheetah Girl and Rita Ora.

    • neelyo says:

Yep. Still an asshole, now just overweight.

    • kimber says:

I know a guy who was the same way calling people fat and names. He gained tons of weight. He re-evaluated his life, lost the weight and became a better person. It’s the whole, “..walk a mile. ..” thing. Another thing why I support his whole life reboot is because the environment where they live is (ridiculous) sort of real life satire that they actually take seriously and we laugh at hysterically because it’s not real. Away from LA/hollywood his life could be better.

      • decorative item says:

True, but he stays there because he wants it. He is not a victim, he has choices and means.

    • The Original Mia says:

      Preach it!

    • MediaMaven says:

      Karma is a bitch.

    • wow says:

      Co-signing OllyHolly.

Sorry, Rob. It’s in your blood. You’re stuck with them.

      He’ll be alright.

    • (The original, not CDAN) Violet says:

      Word!

    • gem says:

He seems very sinister to me. He has badness in him!

    • decorative item says:

      Thank you!
Perhaps, he has finally found his own shtick for the show.

  3. Eleonor says:

My theory: if this was a plot for the next season we would have something different special of him going to the gym and his supporting family for example. Or “Rob weigh tbattle”.
If he really had enough of PMK I hope che can get rid of all of them and have a healthy happy life.

  4. NewWester says:

Rob should just cut off ties with his family. Go move to Florida where his alleged son lives and spend time with him. Then Rob should focus on a career far away from the Kardashian snake pit and in particular the High Priestess of the dark side Lucifer’s Homegirl
Many of us had to make the choice to cut ties with toxic families. He has opportunities that he is not taking advantage of, instead of complaining to “friends” just make the changes!!

    • kri says:

I still don’t know if this is for real or just another plot twist from his mother, The Womb Of Doom. I can see her calling up Peterson and pitching him a shw with Rob as the sacrificial lamb.

    • Hibitta says:

He has a son? Can you please elaborate?

  5. GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I can’t imagine being sucked into that soulless Kardashian circle of hell. I hope he can get out and get well.

  6. Anthea says:

I just saw ‘Sock Mogul’ and started laughing so hard I couldn’t read the rest.

I do feel sympathetic towards him because his mother is THE WORST. She’s a terrible human being. She may not have actually committed any criminal acts but she’s not a good person. So while I can see why some people think a man of resources like this should pull himself together because his situation is not so tough as that faced by many others, I also think that people who face up to hardships are often able to do so because they have had support from people in their lives which helps on some sort of subliminal level.

I don’t know. I’m not a psychologist or anything and I don’t know him. I just know that if I were the sort of mother to my son that Kris Jenner is to him, there would come a point in my life where I would feel a lot of remorse for how I brought up my child.

  7. T.fanty says:

No, being money-grubbing famewhores who pimp one another out ruined his family.

  8. Belle Epoch says:

That car… Materialism at its best, and probably not paid for with socks! If he wants to turn his life around, he can start by getting a JOB and driving a Hyundai he bought with his own money. I do feel bad for the guy but getting papped at the gym is not the right direction.

    • Miss5280 says:

Exactly!! Especially since I’m sure that he or PMK called the paps to let them know he would be there in the first place.

    • Giselle says:

So, because she’s depressed he needs to trade his car in for a Hyundai?! What does his car have to do with anything? I hate that people look at others with money/nice cars as “evil”. I’m pretty sure you’re not driving Hyundai.
There’s nothing wrong with having something nice for yourself

      • Sighs says:

I believe she was referring to the fact that he lives off his family. It’s one thing to buy nice things for yourself when you earned the money to do so, and quite another when you’re sponging off others.
Don’t bite the hand that feeds you. And if you don’t want to be beholden to them, carve your own way.

      • Belle Epoch says:

Thank you, SIGHS. Yes, that was my point. It looks like he still wants to live the high life but is unwilling to EARN it.

    • RdyfrmycloseupmrDvlle says:

JEEZ, give the guy a break. He actually DOES earn a nice amount off his socks. And he DOES have a job! His SOCKS! You may not like them, you may think its a joke but he does actually have a job and earn descent money. No, not as much as his sisters but he DOES bring it in. I feel like no matter what this poor guy does people like you always minimize his efforts!!! He gets enough of that from Mom and sis, right??? Jeez, poor guy!

      • decorative item says:

Seriously? Did you read what you just wrote? What exactly does he do? He met with someone who showed him samples of designs someone else created. They then decided on a finial design line, all of which had already been decided on by people who know what they are doing, but they have to make him feel involved so they can stamp his foul name on it. Then, it ends up in T.J.Max or ROSS while he goes back to playing video games all day. Have I missed anything?

  9. Dani2 says:

I’m dying laughing at “sock mogul”, I just think he needs to get the help he needs and if part of that is distancing himself from his family then so be it.

  10. Dawn says:

Well as much as it would be for the best if he did leave his family behind in the dust, I am sure this is not what’s going to happen. I think he does need help with his weight and I do find it true that PMK is out looking for the next big deal for one of the girls, at the end of the day this is his family and she is his mother and thus he will do what he has to so he can get back in. End of story.

  11. lucy2 says:

I do think reality TV is bad for most of the people who appear on it. However, considering their family was launched with a sex tape, I’m thinking they weren’t so great to begin with.

  12. Erica says:

Don’t you remember (and probably not since this episode was one of the really early seasons) on KUWTK, he was offered an internship at some company. He had been comlaining that the girls were getting all this business success, so kourtney got him a good entry level job and a good company. After a half a day he was like “I’m not doing this. None of you had to start at the beginning.”

He’s never going to split with the family because he refuses to work hard. He wants the easy way to money. I can’t imagine him just getting a normal job like a normal person. He’s too lazy and spoiled, like everyone in the family. Thus the designing socks instead of doing something real

    • EscapedConvent says:

I remember that situation with the internship. He did scoff at it, it was too “ordinary” for him & why did he have to get a real job when he could see what all his sisters were doing & getting massive paychecks for it? Compared to that, this spoiled brat wasn’t going to do anything normal like go to law school (which he talked about doing as if it were a done deal) or just have a job like anyone else.

I don’t think Rob is a very nice person at all, so this is not a defense for him, but I do wonder—what exactly is he qualified to do now? I don’t know what kind of job he could get. He would have to start at entry level somewhere, & I think he would be mortified to have to do that. He is kind of screwed in that way. He’s completely dependent on his hellish mother for his standard of living. He may want to cut ties with her emotionally, but I think he feels trapped there, & if he wants to go on living in the style to which he is accustomed, he will stay where he is. He’s still young—-has he thought about what his life will be like in 20 years?

      • We Are All Made of Stars says:

If he were serious about going to law school, he could work for the family biz on the other side of the biz. This, I think, would be the perfect resolution to his life, if he were willing to work for it.

      • Montréalise says:

I remember when he was on DWTS, his fellow contestant Nancy Grace was supposedly urging him to go to law school and become a lawyer like his late father. Obviously he never followed up on that, and I’m guessing it’s because law school is such hard work – no place for slackers.

      • littlestar says:

Really good point – and not just him, but have ALL OF THEM thought about what their lives are going to be like in 20 years? They are becoming increasingly hated by the public, their “success” isn’t going to last for much longer.

    • Nigel says:

I keep waiting for another sex film from one of the females but maybe Rob can do one. I don’t know if it would make much but it’s part of the family business. Well, until the next generation kids are old enough to be turned out.

  13. Abbott says:

Sounds like someone needed a new story line to earn those Kardashian Koins. Though I hope the Sock Mogul teams up with Lamar and goes full rogue on the rest of the family.

    • Pandy says:

Oooh – I’d actually watch an episode if that happened! I’m sure his weight battle will be a storyline and he will go along with it. No $$ for him otherwise and he doesn’t strike me as someone who wants to go out and make his own way in the world.

  14. grits says:

The “family” has ruined humanity. His “family” was/is trash from day one.
Pop his ass in a 1989 Nissan Sentra 2 door, get a job and lets see if he still feels sorry for himself. Waaaah.

    • TheOneandOnlyOnly says:

Yes!! But the media still follows them; what does that say about the media.

  15. paola says:

What ruined their family is their mother. She has sold her soul and her children for the sake of money.
Karma is a bitch.. so we’ll see what comes next.
Rob has been calling people fat all the time and now he looks like an elephant. I call it karma and I have no sympathy for him whatsoever. There is always i price to pay if you want the kind of life they have.
I also believe though that he really misses his father and now that Bruce and Lamar are gone he has no one to rely on, no father figure or a man to relater to apart from Kourtney’s husband. He lives in a house full of shallow hos and there is no other way to get out of there apart from cutting the ombilical cord and part ways.

  16. grabbyhands says:

He’s just figuring this out NOW?

Also, would he be as likely to think the show ruined their family if he wasn’t dealing with his weight issues and was still popular and front and center as his sisters?

  17. BReed says:

He is a big fat baby and will never stand on his own. Sock mogul? HAHAHHAHAHA!

  18. LilyT says:

Karma comes to mind. Perhaps it’s time for le douche mogul to realize the bullying and disrepect he’s experiencing is similar to the what he used to put women through.

Karmas a b*tch rob, and unfortunately, so are all the women in your family.

  19. swack says:

Funny that between this and the announcement of Khourtney’s pregnancy is coming at a time when there are few stories about Kimye. Not putting Khourtney down for being pregnant, just seems the timing for the announcement is suspect. I wish her all the best. As for Rob, he needs to grow up and put on his big boy panties.

  20. shelley says:

He was barely on the show last season (yes, I still hate-watch it, I have a hard time starting a series and not seeing it through to the very end), so I believe this story, at least the part about him reducing his filming time.

“Sock mogul” always makes me laugh. When he first said on the show that he was designing socks, I laughed and laughed and laughed. I think his family was secretly laughing, too. I mean, it is kind of a funny job. But anyway, he really likes socks, so… Hopefully he can figure out something else to do with his degree at some point.

  21. The Original G says:

To me, the problem is not that he’s fat, but that he’s unhappy. But what is he unhappy about? That he doesn’t get the cash and exposure that the girls get or that life is not a free ride? Or is he somehow deeply hurt and pained? Dunno.

It can take time to find yourself, but if this guy wanted to get a job and become his own man, he’s got all the connections and advantages to make that happen. I’m not saying that he shouldn’t get fit, but to me spending the day obsessing about your weight is not the solution. It’s just the darker side of the family narcissism.

Dissing the family in and of it’s self doesn’t make him a hero, but I wish him well.

  22. AuntieEm says:

Rob in the real world getting a regular job in his field or going to law school, and trying to find his way in the world would be a show PMK should spin for him. Throw him in a bro house with equally directionless spoiled brat kids and have a Real World Trust Fund Baby Edition. It worked for Paris and Nicole, even though Nicole was the only one savvy enough to parlay that exposure into a future for herself. I agree he’s too dependent on the Kardashian machine, even though he does seem to like it when things go well. Otherwise, he just needs to take his money and run, invest it well, and let it make money for him.

  23. Lauren says:

I read on the daily mail that he’s only following Kris and Kylie on twitter. I guess he is done with the whole family besides those two. I am surprised he would cut Khloe out.

  24. Katija says:

    Socks.

    Jesus Tap-Dancing Christ.

I am fortunate to know a lot of very successful people in my life. I *know* men who actually dress very well and shop at upscale locations. And let me tell you – even these very “GQ” men buy their effing socks at effing Target like a regular effing person. Does his business exist only to service his brothers-in-law? Because those are the only two men I can think of who’d wear designer SOCKS.

  25. Deedee says:

If i remember correctly, the pr about his sock mogality was that he was so good, he was branching into pjs. This was a couple of years ago, thou.

  26. Velvet Elvis says:

The Kardashian women have an amazing talent for emasculating the men in the family….Bruce, Scott, Rob and even Lamar. I just want to smh at it. I think that Rob will eventually snatch his balls back from the girls and run, distancing himself from his family and fame to become a more “normal” person…living a modest lifestyle out of the spotlight and finally happy.

  27. PinkyTuscadero says:

I find it odd that no one has put together that Rob had a super tight relationship with Lamar, while Lamar was clearly using crack. I think Rob also has a drug problem. His weight began to climb up when Khloe and Lamar broke up. Rob probably tried to clean up from crack but turned to other drugs. By the looks of it, he’s on opiates of some sort. His grey skin and the dark circles around his eyes (super visible in some other photos) are dead giveaways. And those kinds of drugs often accompany out-of-control eating. So Rob– regardless of his family, his own brattiness, whatever– looks to have a pretty major problem he needs to solve. I for one hope he is successful in beating it. That’s the most important kind of success there is.
