Elsa Pataky is in the “make-work” part of her career. She’s married to an A-list actor, she’s had three babies and I guess she’s pretty much done with trying to be a movie star in her own right, which is fine. She’s just released a book about exercise and she seems to be one of those celebrity mommy blogger types who likes to dole out tips on how to live a life more like hers (for the record: she mommy blogs for Spanish-language outlets). But unlike some of the other celebrity-ish women who build a second career around branding motherhood/fitness/health, I think Elsa still wants people to remember that she’s sexy. So… would it be any surprise that Elsa might want to pose for Playboy?
While dining at Craig’s in LA in late May, Elsa Pataky broke the news to her husband Chris Hemsworth that she wants to pose naked for Playboy to flaunt her postbaby body – but he said no way! Fellow diners tells Star that the cozy lunch date quickly turned sour when Elsa mentioned the magazine.
“She said it would be a great career move,” dishes an onlooker, “but Chris wanted nothing to do with the conversation. He said it would be inappropriate for a woman with such small children to pose naked.”
Pals say Elsa kept pushing Chris – which led to violent outburst. “After about 10 minutes of Elsa’s nagging, Chris slammed his fork and knife on this plate and stormed off.”

I remember, not too many years ago, when Elsa did a paid appearance for something or other and she basically wore the shortest skirt I’ve ever seen and all she had on underneath was a thong. She sat on a clear plastic chair and the photographers covering the event loved it. I would imagine she’s very comfortable with her body and she obviously cares a lot about fitness and keeping it tight. So why not pose for Playboy? I mean… seriously, why not? But I can see why Chris would be mad about it. He’s trying to be A-list and having a wife pose for Playboy is kind of a C-list move. That’s what it’s about, not the “women with children shouldn’t pose naked” thing. He doesn’t want RDJ and Chris Evans giving him sh-t about his wife’s boobies.

The blind which is no longer a blind is that she approached Playboy and gave them some pics of her to which they then said, yes, they would do a shoot, all without Chris’s knowledge. He apparently does not know she approached Playboy because she told Chris Playboy approached her. So if that is true, then it is also believable that she would have had the conversation in public, hoping that would keep Chris from blowing up and she could convince him. I don’t know. I don’t think they are trashy for having a fight in public. I think he was blindsided.
Isn’t Star’s batting average in the 5% range?? She is gorgeous and sexy and doesn’t need to do that, if true

If she wants to get naked, I don’t care. But don’t expect it to open doors. She’s really just not that great of an actress, it has nothing to do with her sex appeal (though I personally find her pretty with a great body but somehow still bland).

I would think so. Or Maxim? Posing for Playboy seems very 1990s to me. She would be better off landing a role in some Spanish film where she can take her clothes off.

I kinda feel the same, @Jaderu. I mean, he’s okay and has been in alot of blockbuster franchise, stuff…but meh. If she wants to stay famous/employed, why not go and take some acting classes and start with small roles. Ya never know.

He’s lead several blockbusters as Thor. That’s A list. You don’t have to be Brad and Angie or George Clooney caliber to be A List. Those guys are A+. But he is probably one of the first names that comes up for a lot of projects right now and most people know his name. So yes, he’s A List.
See, I disagree, because the Thor movies aren’t about him. You could recast Thor and Marvel/comic fans would still go see it. The A-list test is whether you can open a movie on your own, and without Marvel’s backing, Hemsworth hasn’t been able to.
I agree with Samtha that opening a movie on your own is a mark of being A-list, but I don’t think it’s the only mark. Like Lucinda said, name recognition is also a factor. I think it’s more about whether you have the star power to get a movie greenlit. Meaning you don’t necessarily have to have proven that you can open a movie on your own, but you need a certain level of success and name recognition for financiers to believe you have the ability to do so with the right project.
And with all that said, I have no idea if Chris Hemsworth fits the bill. But he certainly has the potential to be A-list if he’s not already. And his wife…well, unabashed fame whoring is not a good look for either of them. I hope she realizes soon that there are better, more subtle ways to get wherever it is she wants to go.
Did Rush and Red Dawn make lots of money? No. He still has a lot to prove to be an acting force. He is very recognizable though because of Thor and people will always go see tha superhero genre. Green Lantern was awful and was still seen by a lot of people. Although not on the same level as Thor. The writing was better and had an enjoyable villain in Loki.
Does a Playboy photo shoot really have that much appeal to anyone anymore? With selfies and instagraming and whatever. Does a few glamour b00bie shots in playboy really have that much cache?

Yeah, really. Somebody get caught on camera doing something! I don’t believe most blinds ( I mean seriously how easy are they to just straight make up and post without any evidence at all?) but its really bad when the weekly rags are reusing them! Yikes. So yeah, its plausible but not really believable.
I’m not sure what you qualify as old. I saw the blind revealed just last week on a site and it had been posted only the week before. It didn’t seem old to me. It is also totally believable to me given her history. Or maybe I’m just hoping it’s true. 🙂

Demi posed for playboy while she and Bruce were at their peak and it didnt hurt them none. And they arent the only ones either. No, my guess is his thinks he has proprietorship over the body that baked his kids, pretty typical guy shit.

I don’t necessarily think it’s simply the fact that she wants to take her clothes off. I think it’s that Playboy doesn’t have the cache it once did. It’s not a magazine for A-listers any more. Like someone said upthread, if she wanted to do some tasteful nudes for a more highly ranked mag that’d be different.
I do believe that once married, you shouldn’t be doing nudie pics without your wife or husband’s mutual approval. Having kids, their playmate’s parents will also see the pics and judge your children. Different if done for a serious movie.
Well, now – wait a minute, I think there was a misunderstanding: if she was talking about posing in Playboy AND nagging him (probably about his questionable footwear? Maybe he was not using the correct fork?) our beloved Bewildered Retriever probably got confused and that can be frustrating. Nothing super detailed. Just a trio of fans got to meet him and said they wanted autographs but didn’t have anything for him to sign, so he went back to his trailer to get pictures, signed them and gave those to the waiting fans.

The picture was taken while Chris was in Norwich, at the UEA , filming Age of Ultron. He went back to his trailer and brought back the signed pictures for the two guys and a girl since they had nothing he could sign.
And they said he was great with them.

Don’t care for her. Can’t get over her Adrien Brody-loves-her-so-much-he-bought-her-a-castle debacle, not very long before she met and married Chris. Makes me think Chris is a big dope, but I do love him so I’ll give him the benefit that he really is in love with her.
But I don’t know….if your SO is not comfortable with you posing for Playboy, maybe she should take that into consideration. There must be many publications that would love to showcase a rocking post-pregnancy body story, and I think they’d like that she’s Thor’s wife too. That’s if this story is for real.
I was going to ask, isn’t being naked a lot less taboo in Europe? She may just be way more comfortable with something like this than many From the US? I don’t know how open Aussies are (I know he isn’t from the US) but this may have something to do with that. Since he is a big star here in the US (or star as opposed to big star). I wouldn’t say they even come close to Demi and Bruce’s star power when that happened either. She can do what she wants and is a beautiful woman and all, but I think it would cheapen them. Not that it should but IMO it would.
I thought the same thing. As a general rule, Europeans are a lot less prudish about nudity than Americans. So being naked probably isn’t a big deal to her. However, there’s a difference between being comfortable with public nudity and being photographed nude for a trashy magazine men use to jack off.
That is a really silly stereotype…. Having women naked all around stinks of patriarchal society and no, I used to be quite annoyed at topless women showing their stuff in public on Italian beaches….in UK women have been petitioning for years to have the Sun infamous page 3 removed from the paper….
Agree with LadyMacbeth… Here in Portugal is also quite uncommon and not very well seen.. topless in certain beaches, yeah, sure, but still uncommon.., nudity is very rare.. It also varies according to countries… Northern countrie (Germany, Netherlands, etc) are less prude than southern countries (Portugal, Spain, Italy).. Maybe a religious aspect, I don’t know..

The Hemsworth brothers seem to be the traditional types when in a relationship, hence his younger brother Liam dumping Miley when she became cray cray and overwhelmingly exhibitionist.
Besides, Chris seem pretty mature and want the traditional wifey.
I don’t mind a woman with kids doing Playboy but Elsa knew what she married and she only wants to do it because she is desperate for attention. It’s like her selfworth perception is still the one of an aspiring starlet while she is going 38.
Once, she will go nude, she will find another gig to keep that attention and overbid it.

I think this is pretty spot on. I am all for a woman wanting to show off her rockin’ bod, especially after 3 kids, but Playboy isn’t the place for it. Way too trashy. Pose for a fitness mag or GQ or something.

Chris Hemsworth is definitely not A-List for me. Most people I know still just know him as Thor. But he’s got potential. Not my cup of tea, but I can see why so many girls find him hot and he doesn’t ruin the movies he’s in. He’s not the second coming of Marlon Brando but he’s good.
As for Elsa, I have no problem with a mom wanting to be sexy and whatever, but Playboy? Trashy tbh. She can get the point across with several other mags.

I just think she is so gorgeous-I know she’s had surgery, etc. but man she’s beautiful. I don’t know anything about him-but their relationship does have a bit of career PR to it [similar to Matthew M and Camila Alves]. ie, many top actors over the years [going way back] will have career marriages and families-they wanted kids and wanted to keep a certain image. That’s my impression of these two. Not fakey fake but more of an arrangement or agreement-and one that benefits both of them equally.

I can see Hemsworth objecting. He has a traditional family-man image mixed with his hotness. Elsa’s latest foray into attention-seeking makes him look like he’s married to a long-lost Kardashian. He may be thinking about the kids too; when they are old enough they can see Mom having her naughty bits on the Internet and catch it at school too. But…he knew about her Playboy past (March 2004) I assume, so it shouldn’t be too much of a surprise.

GQ magazine is a classey magazine than playboy. Playboy is known for being full nude. GQ has no full nudness wich give it some class. Some celebs pose without taking all their cloths off in playboy. The ones that do strip full naked is tastless unlike GQ. Pam Anderson children got made fun of when their mum pose for playboy.
She’s gorgeous, should do what makes her happy in life, & she may even consider this a career move. Now, if her husband has a huge issue with this, then I believe she weigh how worth it posing would be versus the (possibly negative?) impact on her marriage. It is different when you are in a relationship than when you are single. However, if it means that much to her and it’s the direction she wants to take, she should do it. Be aware of the possible consequences, but maybe he will come around and be supportive. The fact that she has a young child is irrelevant, as long as she is prepared for possible discussions when her child is older. For my own selfish reasons, I definitely agree her hubby should strip down for playgirl (with the same conditions)!!!

Didn’t she do porn in Spain in her early career? Apparently it’s on the internet. I always pictured him as being much more conservative than that. Alot of people were actually shocked when they got married because of her background.

And they were not even in LA when this argument at Craig’s supposedly happened. They have been in London since Easter, and Elsa went three days to Madrid at the end of May, so I highly doubt it was them.

Call me old fashioned but I agree with Chris. They’re married. They have three children. She shouldn’t be posing naked. I wouldn’t want my husband doing it and I certainly wouldn’t do it. That’s for him to see and no one else, no matter how comfortable you are with your body.
