Over the weekend, Tilda Swinton did a Reddit AMA which was absolutely charming. She came to play, and while it didn’t rise to Cumberbatch levels of squee-ness, it was good and she’s always so interesting. She makes it clear that she’s answering questions from her home in Scotland, probably as she’s making dinner for her family. She talks about Brad Pitt, Snowpiercer, George Clooney and whether she keeps multiple men as lovers. You can read the full AMA here, and here are some highlights:

I have a theory that you’re a clone of David Bowie created right around the Modern Love era so that he could continue being a musician as well as star in more movies. So far I’ve discovered no evidence to the contrary. Do you have any opinion on that?

Och aye, good afternoon Tilda. I heard you have a young lover and an old lover, is this true? If so why? Do you think this affects people’s perception of you?
This is not true, lukeyrads.. it never was.. someone once ran with a misunderstanding.. I suppose there may be people out there who believe it, though, so their perception would be skewed.. I’m sorry if this is a disappointment for anybody..

I read through most of it and I’m surprised some of the Dragonflies didn’t come out to ask her super-specific questions about Tom Hiddleston. I would have enjoyed hearing her thoughts on him. I get the feeling that men like Clooney and Pitt see Tilda as their equal, someone fun who knows her own mind, who can hang with the boys like no other. I love her alternate-universe career as a professional gambler and I love her answer about her young lover Sandro Kopp. Long live the Tilda!
