We didn’t cover the American Horror Story: Freakshow premiere earlier this week. My bad! I remember glancing through the photos and thinking, “God, the red carpet is such a snooze.” The biggest fashion headline was Lea Michele’s dress, seen above. It’s a blue velvet Cushnie et Ochs. It’s okay. I like the color but her friggin’ bangs destroy any goodwill I might have towards this look.
But a funny thing happened on this red carpet and the video started picking up steam yesterday. Apparently, Lea was posing her butt off, giving her patented sexyface for the cameras, when Jessica Lange walked through the red carpet. I mean that literally – Lange just walked in a straight line through the carpet, refusing to stop and pose for the cameras. Watch what happens when Lea tries to say hello to Lange:
It’s pretty funny. But here’s the thing: I don’t even think it was personal on Lange’s part. Like, I know people will want to say “Well, obviously Jessica Lange hates Lea Michele’s try-hard,” but I think Lange is pretty much over everything, you know? She didn’t want to do press. She didn’t want to say hello to Lea or anyone else. Lea didn’t even look hurt – she recovered really well after being totally ignored.

Lea did look snubbed. Her fake smile that fell for a moment after Lange walked by? She knew the jig was up at that moment.
I noticed that, too, and I think the big pic must have been snapped right after the snub, lol. She still looks stunned.

Celebitchy Newbie here. Do we not like Lea Michele? I know she’s in Glee, but I’ve never watched it, and she only came to my attention when her fella died. Has she done something to her lips, or is it just the facial pose or lipstick that makes her look like that? She does seem rather tryhard, but love Jessica.
Hmmm, that’s a tough one to field. My op is that she’s a hard worker and is talented, but there are many stories about her being snobby and stuck up, and straight catty and mean to people she works with.
Her boyfriend died of an overdose (I think last yr) so she did gain some sympathy points. She always goes to like every red carpet event and poses hard.
Of course, make up your mind in your opinion of her!! This is just mine 😉

I doubt it was personal but at the same time I think Jessica might have been annoyed with Lea. Watching the video Lea is not moving from her spot and Jessica is stuck behind her at the beginning of the carpet. I think she got fed up waiting for Lea to move along. Which I don’t blame her for if that is the case because it was Jessica’s premiere not Lea’s and there for twice as many photos of Lea as any of the actual cast members.
I agree and Jessica glanced at her right before she crossed in front of her so how is that ignoring her? If Lea was to move on and didn’t, THAT is rude.
I read that the person who filmed this has a bunch of YouTube videos and Lea does 8 million poses for an absurd amount of time so I can see why Lange would be annoyed.

Jessica has become pretty eccentric….I like that. I remember when she was Dwan in King Kong..teehee, decades ago. I avoid watching Leah at all costs. They used to have fun with her on Fashion Police when they showed clips of her over the top poses and facial expressions. Never watched Glee….kind of feel her claim to fame was the death of Corey Monteith. Her sorrow seemed genuine, but she gave the surviving girlfriend speech to any microphone in front of her for some time there. It’s difficult to believe one could be so close to a junkie and not be aware of it. Time will tell if she “makes it” in the biz or becomes another whatever happened to…?

Yeah there were rumors. It’s usually a good move when couples dating on-screen are dating off-screen as well. It was a badly kept secret he was a junkie, until he was outed and went to rehab as a show of good will. He also seemed to have a depressive personality so really in combination of the heroin and alcohol, he didn’t stand much of a chance. One rumor that wouldn’t go away was that he was gay. Don’t know if it was true or not, doesn’t really matter, particularly now. Poor Corey. Leah….well Leah is just Leah……

Uh, I think that Lea DID look hurt, and I found it very funny! I also want to know how long one is supposed to hold up the press line to take pictures. She took pictures for what seemed like FOREVER. I’d love to believe Jessica Lange purposely snubbed Lea, but having seen a good 5+ minute of footage of Lea preening and strutting like it’s her show,, I’m pretty sure Lange was just doing what several other people did – walking past Lea as fast as possible so as not to block the shots during her pap session.
That happens all the time at premieres. Someone needs to go past someone doing a photo call and so they put their head down and move as fast as possible past the person who is being photographed.
i know that lea was probably posing but still doesnt excuse jessica lange for being so rude either to lea or even to the press. I know she is over everything but still would have been nice not to show her public dislike for lea. What i think is ironic was that jessica lange came back to prominence in a big way with ahs seems a pity that she couldnt be gracious enough anyway
