Britney Spears makes charity donation for kids

As Britney Spears’ “Circus” tour rolls on, the pop star reinforces her image rebuilding campaign with a $100,000 donation to the Miami Children’s Hospital’s Big Apple Circus Clown Care program. Clown Care is a hospital clown caring program in which Big Apple Circus clowns visit and entertain hospitalized children. Britney also visited some sick kids at the Miami Children’s Hospital for 30 minutes while in town performing.

Britney Spears knows everybody loves a circus.

The 27-year-old popstar, who’s currently on her Circus world tour, is donating $100,000 to the Miami Children’s Hospital’s Big Apple Circus Clown Care program.

The mother of two made a surprise, 30-minute visit with 40 sick children at the hospital on Saturday before her show at the American Airlines Arena. Spears posed for photos with the kids and signed autographs.
The Clown Care program provides young patients with treatment — and laughs — from clowns with medical training.

Britney’s tour, her first in five years, rolls into Tampa, Florida, tonight.

This isn’t the first time Britney has surprised some kids by stopping in for a visit. Last fall, she popped into a New York City elementary school while in town promoting her new CD, signing autographs and posing for photos with kids. She also taught some dance classes in Los Angeles last year while preparing for her tour. Whatever problems Britney has, it’s clear that she has a soft spot for children’s issues, and $100k will go a long way for this nonprofit program.

It’s one of her good side, and it’s a shame people don’t see it more often… She has a foundation and she has many times put some of her clothes on auction, in order to raise money for the children or for a hurricane…

You can critize her, but every people who met her say that she has a good heart.

It’s a shame people never see this side of her personality.

It’s also a shame how she’s treated her own children – you’d think that they would take precedence over everything else, especially other people’s children. I am hoping that she really has cleaned up her act and straightened out her priorities. Those boys need their mother.

It’s amazing how far she’s come. She looks fantastic. So proud of this southern girl!

Full disclosure: That tattooed lady costume is SO gonna be my Halloween costume this year! You heard it here first.

nanster: you’re a bit harsh on Britney. Mental disease is tough – I don’t think she’s responsible of the way she has treated her children when her state was non controlled.

Before she went nuts, she was very hands on with Sean. A real good mom, carrying her kid in her arms, doing the diaper changes and all, not a diva with kids for the sole purpose of bossing a nanny around.

And even when she was nuts, she was predominantly nice to everyone that crossed her path.

She was a goo9d mother until she had a break down but people who are not educated seem to think she had a break down on purpose and that she treated her kids this way because she was in a bad mood. The woman was being drugged..read the newspapers and not the rag mags. SHe was being used by people and her husband was a jerk who was busy spending 10 million of her money and leaving her sit at home wioth the 2 kids while he was in vegas cheating on her with his ex. What happened to her can happen to anyone. But be sure not to give her credit for getting well, making a comebak and trying to be with her kids as much as possible. I wish I had a 100k to help kids live better lives like she does and to give of herself to help kids. I bet those that yank her chain have never done anything for kids.
