Back in October, we learned about one of the most random couples of the year: Josh Groban and Kat Dennings. To their credit, there wasn’t any drama or homewrecking or arson involved in their meet-cute. They’re close in age (he’s 33, she’s 28) and neither has been married before. Also to their credit, they made their red carpet debut pretty soon after they started going out: we found our they were a couple when they walked a red carpet for a charity event together. It was nice.
Anyway, these are some photos of Kat and Josh walking around New York on New Year’s Eve. My first reaction to them as a couple was “weirdness” but they’re sort of growing on me. He seems dorky and sweet and she’s pretty and witty. They’ve made it three months together. What do you think? I’m getting a vibe like everything makes sense for them. I see marriage and babies. Either that or they’ll break up in the next month. Who knows?
Also: I’ll give him this, he looks much sexier with a beard and glasses. I usually think he’s got that baby-faced vanilla look, but with the beard and glasses… yeah, I would give him a once-over.

I was really surprised by that as well. It makes me think that he would be a fun guy to date/hangout with.
I really like Kat as well- she did this cancer awareness campaign as her best friend is a survivor, and she was just so heartfelt.
Anyway, they look pretty happy together.

I saw her on one of the last Craig Ferguson’s, and I didn’t think she came off very well. Kind of ditzy, to put it nicely. Maybe she just had an off night?
Haha, I’ve been a fan of JG since his first album – yes I actually like his music – and his interviews are just a bonus. Hilarious man. She’s so much better than January Jones – seems like a nicer person if a bit eccentric. But so’s JG.

yea, one of the best things is the youtube clip of him playing piano and ‘singing’ Kanye’s tweets, on jimmy kimmel. Truly hilarious. And he did a ‘duet’ with Ellen ‘Bright Eyes’ that’s hilarious, as well. He is so funny; love him.

Ya, I don’t really know what’s so “random” or “weird” about this couple?? Age appropriate, they’re both cute but not uber gorgeous (it’s not like a Angelina/Billy Bob matchup or something), about level on the fame scale, and he’s actually super funny. Now, Groban and January Jones seemed more random to me, because Jones gives off the vibe that she has no sense of humor whatsoever.
He was with January Jones for years…right before Mad Men. That was random, although at the time, no one knew her.
Didn’t I read she had never heard him sing? How is that even possible? Is she completely not interested in music? Just seems weird!
All I know is that he is one lucky man! Kat is so freaking gorgeous. I will agree that he does look better with the beard and glasses. They are a really cute couple so I hope they stay together and make lots of good looking, talented babies.

He’s funny. I loved that spoof he did on JImmy Kimmel where they had him sing Kanye tweets in his operatic voice. He doesn’t take himself too seriously at all. He does a commercial like he’s got a new album out on where he’s performing the tweets, like a best of ’80s TV ad.

He does seem to have a wicked sense of humor and from talk show appearances, he seems very humble and easy going. I’ve always thought the same of her, cute couple. I wish them the best.
He’s a pretty laid back guy who has a surprisingly witty sense of humor, so I can see why that quality would be really charming to a comedy actress. They don’t strike me as weird as so much “under the radar,” so kudos to then for finding each other.

I’ve been a Josh fan since his first album dropped and I am THRILLED about this couple. So wonderfully matched. I hope they last. His Dad is Jewish and Mom is Episcopal so the religion thing shouldn’t get in the way.

I think its interesting that most of the people commenting mention his comedic talents, so i suppose his music doesnt stand out that much in the celebrity scale level? I first ever heard of him when my good friend gave me his CD with “You raise me up” and I have been a fan ever since, his music is amazing. Have seen him in some movies and he”s usually playing a jerk but he seems funny.
I like them together i hope it lasts, and i always thought he was cute. I like Kat but i hate 2 Broke Girls.

Oh, I love his voice. The music is just lovely. But the point about his sense of humor is more that they’re not as contradictory as they may seem at first glance. A shared sense of humor is a big deal in a relationship.
I think some of us are a bit leery of admitting we love his music, because while he has an AMAZING voice his stuff can skew a little…older. His music isn’t “cool.” 😉 I have had a massive crush on him since his first album came out tho, and that was…12yrs ago? (Has it really been that long?) Not a “I wanna get him sweaty and nekked” crush–more of a “I wanna hang out with him and touch his hair while he sings to me” kinda crush.
I’m with everyone else that I don’t see the weirdness. Josh is cute, has a reputation for being a sweetheart, and as everyone else has said, is really funny. Kat is gorgeous and hilarious. I can see what they see in each other.

I’m not sure why some in the media say they are a “weird” couple because they seem perfectly suited for each other–they have the same quirky sense of humor. I agree that he and January Jones seemed to be more of a strange couple. He seems so funny and adorable, while she seems so aloof and cold. Also, the tabloid pairing of Josh with Katy Perry also seemed really weird, too, but not Josh and Kat.
