Grammys 2015 recap: Prince owned the night & Beck almost got Kanye’d

Last night’s Grammy Awards were all over the place. Around 10 pm, I really just stopped caring completely and I think the producers made a major mistake with how they scheduled the performances. There was a weird hour-long gap where no awards were being passed out and all of the performances were trying to lull me into a deep sleep. Bedhead, CB and I all thought this year’s Grammys were such a snoozefest, but we’re still going to power through. Just know, this isn’t a comprehensive recap of everything that happened and every performance. These are just highlights of some of what I found interesting/bad/cool. You can see the full list of 2015 Grammy winners here.

*PRINCE. Prince is everything. He wore a shiny, glittering orange ensemble and he brought shade and realness. EVERYTHING. He said: “Albums… remember those? Albums still matter. Like books and black lives, albums still matter.

*AC/DC. They were part of the pseudo-cold open performance. I was not into it. No offense, but I thought this would have been better later in the evening, not for the opening. It just makes the Grammys seem really dated (which they are, but I thought they were trying to skew younger?).

*Madonna. We really need to talk about Madonna’s performance. On one side, I feel like we should support her because she’s an icon and it sucks to age and we all fight it as best we can. But on the other side, I feel like it has gotten flat-out ridiculous. She was moving so gingerly, I knew she was worried about falling and breaking something (a hip?). She’s lost the ability to properly dance, so her dancers just threw her around. And the whole staging for that performance was supposed to be “bullfighter” or matador-realness but it just ended up looking demonic, like this was on that tape during True Detective, you know? We’ll discuss this further in a separate post.

*Sam Smith. He won Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album, Song of the Year, Record of the Year. I liked Sam’s duet with Mary J. Blige on “Stay With Me” but I was actually hoping for a performance of “I’m Not the Only One,” which I think is a stronger song. When he won Record of the Year, he thanked the man who broke his heart because it turned out really well for him. Classic Adele Move.

*Beck. I’ll be honest, I didn’t even pay any attention to Beck’s new album or take his nominations that seriously, but he ended up taking home some major awards, like Album of the Year. He beat out Beyonce for that award and Kanye almost went FULL KANYE. I think Beck would have enjoyed that and he seemed to want Kanye to come up there. Later, in the post-Grammy interviews, Kanye did say that Beck should turn over his Grammy to Beyonce and when they told Beck about it, he sort of agreed, saying that he thought Bey was going to win. Beck also said he was thrilled that Kanye was going to stage crash his Grammy win: “I was just so excited he was coming up. He deserves to be on stage as much as anybody. How many great records has he put out in the last five years right?… I still love him and think he’s genius. I aspire to do what he does.” Aw. Beck is classy.

*Tom Jones & Jessie J duet on “You Lost That Loving Feeling.” I really, really wished they had done “What’s New Pussycat?” Just because that song is awesome.

*Pharrell Williams. He won Best Pop Solo Performance. He also performed a version of “Happy” that was like a performance art piece. It got SO DARK. But then it went “Happy.” He also did a tribute to “Hands Up Don’t Shoot” with the dancers in black hoodies.

*Paul McCartney & Ed Sheeran. He didn’t win anything and I wasn’t into his performance but that’s just because I don’t like his sappy, too-earnest song. But I was SO into ELO singing “Evil Woman.” It felt like everyone else (especially Paul McCartney) was into it too.

*Hozier. The Hozier/Annie Lennox performance of “Take Me To Church” and “I Put A Spell On You” was amazing. Easily my favorite performance of the night.

*Brooke Axtell & Katy Perry. It started with an introduction by President Obama, who drew attention to domestic violence, sexual assault and rape. Then Brooke Axtell, a domestic violence survivor and activist, took the stage for a spoken word piece about what she had survived and how every woman deserves to be loved and not assaulted, that violence is never love. Then Katy Perry sang “By the Grace of God.” You can read more about Axtell here. #ItsOnUs

*Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney’s performance of their song was blah. I don’t get why people like the song because I kind of think it sucks.

*Beyonce. By the time her performance rolled around – she was the next-to-last of the night – I was already so tired, I could barely concentrate. I will say this… her performance, and Common and John Legend’s performance, probably should have opened the show. No joke. Bey also won some Grammys, just not any of the big ones.

I tolerate a lot from Kanye (becuase I love him) but this was genuinely funny, right? He is a cocky SOB but I love it when he makes fun of himself and AT LEAST he had the foresight to run his mouth to the press afterward and not during Beck’s speech. And I mean come on, most of us thought Beyonce was going to win that category too. Well played.

Prince wins everything, always. I wish I could drape myself in orange and look 1/10 as amazing as he does.

    • Someonestolemyname says:

      +1

    • Snazzy says:

      Prince is everything 🙂

    • LB says:

It was funny until he basically said Beck wasn’t a “real artist” compared to Beyonce or Kanye himself. I’m not down for that. I could understand (not necessarily agree though) if he was bitching about someone who doesn’t write or compose their own albums, but Beck? He’s an artist for sure and you’d think Kanye would direct his insults to the voters instead of Beck himself. Poor Beck, put in a position to defend Kanye’s opinion. That’s awful.

I defend Kanye a lot but he probably never even listened to Beck’s album, making his opinion the equivalent of the 14 year old Beyonce stans complaining on Twitter.

      • Snazzy says:

He said that? That Beck isn’t an artist? what an idiot.
I mean, like his music or not, taste in music is subjective, so that’s cool (I mean, I hate Beyonce’s music – don’t kill me!! – but i can respect her talent). But to say Beck isn’t an artist … Kanye gets stupider daily

      • LB says:

This is what Kanye said: just know that the Grammys, if they want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us… We ain’t gonna play with them no more. And Beck needs to respect artistry and he should’ve given his award to Beyonce.”

The implication seems to be Beck isn’t a real artist in comparison.

      • Talie says:

I love Kanye, but he rubbed me the wrong way. Beck is not a 17 year old Taylor Swift — he’s more than earned his artist title.

      • **sighs** says:

I can’t with him. beck needs to respect artistry? Beck has probably done more honest artistry on one album than beyonce has ever done her entire career. And saying he should give his award to someone else? Right. What an @$$hole. He needs to just go away.

      • Lola says:

word-like something is wrong with him at this point if you ask me. He’s “off” mentally.

      • bella says:

kanye’s a**hole move needs to be called out for what it is.
when is the academy going to block him?
i understand he is a major player and talented…but what he did to beck is douchebaggery to the max.
        and prince.
        PRINCE??????
another douche if you ask me for laughing in beck’s face.
a presenter and a performer at the grammy’s don’t get a pass in treating colleagues with disrespect.
        i didn’t find it funny, justified, NOTHING…
it was insulting and should be knocked down by the grammy people.
        ticks me off…

      • Tiffany :) says:

The almost stepping on stage bit was funny, but saying Beck isn’t a real artist is just ignorant.

As brilliant as Kanye can be in that uninhibited-toddler way of his, he can also be just flat out dumb. This makes him sound like he doesn’t know music.

      • littlestar says:

That pisses me off to no end. Beyoncé’s album was not that great, so I have no idea why Kanye thinks she should win everything just because she’s nominated. I think the only reason her album was so hyped up is because she did something never done before – released it without anyone knowing and with no promotion (and I think she did that to try and hide the fact that the songs on the album were so WEAK). Beyoncé’s a damn good performer, but she is not a songwriter and she doesn’t play any instruments. Why should she automatically win just because she sold more albums than Beck, someone who has been around for decades and WRITES his own music (not just claim song writing credit in order to get more royalties).

The song playing through my head right now, Beck’s “Loser”, and I’m thinking specifically about Kanye.

      • Lucy says:

Are you f–King kidding me do you know how hard it is to win Grammy’s album of the year , this isn’t MTV award. Beck’s been around 20 year in the industry .

And you have this man child take over your moment to sh*t on it and make it a joke.

Who the hell is a kanye , why was he even there , he wasn’t nominated and his crappy performance should haven’t even been allowed to air , both were shit and waste of the audiences time.

” Real Artist” … Real artist Beyonce had 17 producers on her album, Beck had one, himself ..she had 11 different writers for her songs.

The musicians aren’t going give a Album of the Year to so averge album that was studio manufactured crap , that was more music videos then music and Beyonce masturbating to herself.

If it wasn’t Beck it would have gone to Pharrell , Sam Or Ed .. All 3 had more votes then her and all 3 were nomniated Album, Song and Record of the Year, Beyonce only album.

So tired of these people classlessness and sence of entitlment .

      • jane16 says:

        Love Prince, can’t stand Kanye.

      • prettylights says:

Wow, that’s BS Kanye. Beck started performing in 1985 at 15, released “Loser” in 1994 and has had a slew of fantastic albums since then. He’s been so innovative in music and he definitely deserves this win. Like someone also mentioned Beck puts together his own music – he doesn’t need 20 people in the wings doing his arrangements and lyrics. He also plays multiple instruments while singing and dancing around on stage. I’m not denying Beyonce has talent too, but IMHO Beck wins as far as actual musicianship goes (writing/arranging tracks and albums, playing instruments).

Maybe I’m biased because I saw Beck at Red Rocks last summer and It. Was. Amazing.

      • Anna says:

He wasn’t talking about Beck. He clarified his comments to the paparazzi and said he was talking about the Grammys not Beck and that he actually loves Beck. I wish you guys would look these things up instead of just attacking someone.
Marlon Brando hasn’t accepted an award before and Kanye tried to give away an award when he thought he was undeserving. It’s not like he asked for something that was super new and surprising lol

      • Jib says:

Kanye said that? When Beyonce lip syncs every live performance and basically can’t sing. My personal favorite is when she fell down the steps at a concert and sang all the way down them!! I guess they didn’t hit the pause on the sound track with her prerecorded voice on time.

If Kanye was defending a truly gifted artist instead of a pop star with a good head for business then maybe he could have gotten away with that. But for now, he should just shut up.

      • Michelle says:

I wouldn’t exactly call myself a Beck fan, but I do own some albums and like quite a few songs I’ve heard over the years, and I feel compelled to share this: per Wikipedia, Beck has been active since 1985, he is a singer-songwriter, multi-intstrumentalist, producer, and he has released 12 studio albums, as well as several non-album singles and a book of sheet music.

Regardless of what anyone thinks of Beck or Beyonce, Kanye trying to discredit Beck as an artist is ridiculous and the best thing any of us can do is IGNORE HIM because he thrives off any and all attention.

      • Maggi says:

Kanye is an idiot. Beyonce’s album was awful. So a real artist writhes around half naked on a beach with greasy hair to sell the song because the song itself sucks so hard???? Or maybe a real artist keeps himself ‘relevant’ by making a video with someone known to have the largest ass in America.

Beck is a singer songwriter. He might not be as popular but being an artist has NOTHING to do with popularity.

    • Anna says:

Did you see Kanye on the red carpet when he was laughing and then said “do you see how happy I am to be here?” And gave the straightest face possible?!?! It was hilarious LOL

And also in the past when Kanye has received awards that he doesn’t think he’s deserved in comparison to other nominees he’s tried to give it to the other artists..

      • Michelle says:

So? That doesn’t give him a pass to be an arrogant ahole and trying to make everything about HIM. He is entitled to his opinion but it doesn’t mean squat as everyone has one.

      • Michelle says:

Kanye apologists need to stop trying to justify this. If he wants to act a certain way, that’s fine. Acting like an asshole and getting angry and interrupting other people and trying to insist that they do what he wants them to is bullshit.

    • Tifygodess24 says:

No it’s wasn’t funny because Kanye took someone else’s moment AGAIN and made it about him. He needs to sit down and be quiet. Can you imagine if someone did that to him? And it clearly wasn’t a joke If he was ranting about it later – he caught himself that’s the only difference here.

      • Tracy says:

Kanye just sucks as a human.

      • PrincessMe says:

He’s getting even more tiresome – didn’t know that was even possible. If he can’t handle these award shows like a big boy, then he needs to just be quiet and stay home. It’s not funny to each year make someone else’s achievements about you (or your “wronged” friend).
I don’t even mind criticism (not agreeing with the winner), but he just goes overboard every. single. time. Ugh!

      • paola says:

Kanye is such a sore loser. How offensive to believe you are the ultimate artist and you know better than ALL the others.
This ass kissing towards beyonce and JayZ is a but too much. I’d be worried if I was JayZ. Kanye keeps going to great length to ‘Defende’ Beyonce. Geez dude. Calm down and sit down. Just because your wife lets you do whatever you want to her doesn’t mean it’s right. He’s truly insane.

      • Harryg says:

Right. I want Kanye and his wife both go away, and Beyonce and her awful music can go away too.

      • mandygirl says:

Agreed! I didn’t find it funny. I thought it was rude.

    • Sarah says:

I thought Kanye’s actions were meant to be self-deprecating and funny. But God if he would just shut up. No one cares if you agree with the awards, Kanye. No. One. Cares. Be gracious. I did enjoy his performances – even the autotuned one.

    • MtnRunner says:

      Prince for president!

Annie took everyone to school last night. She’s the SWINTON of the music world.

I think Beck’s album is his best yet. It was probably my favorite album last year.

      • Polkasox says:

Loved Beck’s album. Its slow, I didn’t think I was going to like it for the first few listens – but it won me over. It’s beautifully composed & soulful. Beck actually writes & composes ALL his stuff, I doubt Bey is doing that. He’s been around for 20 yrs now, he’s earned some respect. Kanye is a d-bag.

      • bella says:

gotta say…swinton is the LENOX of the acting world.
lenox wrote the book decades before swinton came on the scene…
but i respectfully agree with your comparison 😉

      • paranormalgirl says:

I LOVE “Morning Phase.” It’s a masterful, phenomenal album and deserved its wins. No, Beck should not have given his Grammy to Beyonce, as Kanye said. Beck should be proud of win and know that it was because it was awarded for artistry, not publicity

    • MCraw says:

The look of sheer HORROR on Jay’s face!

      http://instagram.com/p/y3eSBSryRX/

While I love Kanye, I didn’t like how he said Beck, of all people, isn’t a true artist. Album sales does NOT an artist make, Ye! I did agree with the overall sentiment of the Grammys using Beyonce’s name to promote their event and then not award (reward?) her for her hard work.

      • Insomniac says:

        OK, *that* was funny.

      • mimif says:

        That was *super* funny.

      • Lucy says:

Using Beyonce’s name, how ?? . She was never on camara . They dumped her performance after 11: 00 when they know half of there audience has already gone to bed.

She’s the one who decided she wanted to perform at the Grammy’s and had asked Common & John Legend if she could .
The Grammy’s didn’t ask her , she wasn’t even in the commercials for last month.

    • CJ Berk says:

How can you tolerate Kanye?? He is nuts to begin with-he is rude-he makes no sense at all.
His little speech at the aftershow was appalling. Who cares how he feels about Beyonce? And then he digresses into keeping his family safe? The guy is totally crazy. Yes, talented but it doesn’t matter. He’s got to disappear for a good long while. Just shut up. And by the way, Beyonce didn’t deserve the award-Pharrell did or Sam Smith. And we’re happy about Beck–great musician with a great history. Just one more word about Beyonce, she needs to go back to high school-she needs to get an education and take that insipid look off her face. She always seems confused.

    • Mauibound says:

The only reason I even paid attention to the Grammys this year was because of Beck. I bought the download of Morning Phase the day it came out and have listened to it almost everyday. To say he shouldn’t have been given the award is a joke! The album is amazing! He wrote, produced, and I believe played every instrument on the album. Not an artist? Sit down you douche bag Kanye, I appreciate Bey but Beck is in a class of his own.

    • Tammy says:

I kind of agree with what Kanye said though about the Grammys and who wins the award but not what he said about Beck. I didn’t even know Beck had an album out & I thought the award should have gone to either Sam Smith or Ed Sheeran. My boyfriend, who listens to music 24/7, didn’t even know Beck had an album out.

      • Nic says:

So you didn’t know he released a album , nominations came out months ago , if you were interested in nominated albums you would have known.

Musicians knew .. And it’s other musicians who vote , not the public.

The Oscar’s don’t vote for most popular or commercially successful movies .. I don’t get your argument we don’t know Beck had album..to be blunt who are you again.

    • Gea says:

Another childish tirade from big baby Yeesus.

    • H Dogg says:

      Awesome publicity for Kanye.

    • Melanie says:

No, not funny at all. Just rude. I love Prince, from the core of my soul. But he blew it too. He should have taken his cane and blocked Kanye from the stage. Now THAT would have been a hilarious moment I could applaud. I don’t even like Beck, he’s not my taste. But this was beyond rude. Once again, stealing someone’s thunder. And make no mistake, this was never about Beyonce. It’s all about Kayne, all the f**king time.

    • Josephine says:

I think his constant defense of Beyonce, who put out a less-than-stellar album this year, make him look like some sort of pathetic puppy dog, willing to make an ass of himself to impress Jay and Beyonce. So to me, not funny. Just kinda sad and dumb. His own music has taken a nosedive; I think he’s losing it in general.

  2. COSquared says:

I wonder how Lourdes must feel when mama’s looking like a craycray woman in front of millions. It’s quite sad, really.

    • Judyk says:

She seemed so desperate to me…not attractive.

And that performance was definitely more demonic than bullish–it was just weird and uncomfortable. She also seemed out of it in her interview with E! prior to the Emmys.

    • LadyMTL says:

I was thinking something similar, because if my mom had done something like that when I was 18 I would have crawled under the bed and stayed there for a year. I generally found the performance to be very boring and almost predictable, which is sad considering this is Madonna we’re talking about.

    • Melanie says:

Kaiser nailed it! Her dancing was so stunted and off last night. The one thing you can usually count on from Madonna is a decent dance performance. It was hard to watch that routine. It felt stiff, and yes, like she might fall at any moment.

    • word says:

Lourdes is too busy at the University of Michigan getting her education on ! She is far away from her mother, and that’s a good thing.

  3. daisyfly says:

    Dear Madonna,

I liked the hanging from the ceiling bit better the first time I saw it when Pink did it.

  4. lisa2 says:

Can we talk about how Beyonce stole the moment from Ledisi by asking to perform Precious Lord. Ledisi song the song for Selma. She is the singer.. but Beyonce performed it (her weird version) at the Grammys.. SO wrong.. so wrong..

and she asked to perform the song. WHY? she had nothing whatsoever do do with the movie Selma. NOTHING.. I don’t like when established artist pull stuff like this. It could have been a career boost for Ledisi. These kind of things bring a lot of attention to new artist.

Just wrong and she should be dragged for it.

    • Jessica says:

Completely agree. Why would she do that? Like you say she had nothing to do with the film, and if she wanted to support it she could have just introduced. If she wanted to perform, she has a current album to draw from.

    • Dani2 says:

I don’t know if Beyonce asked to perform the song but I totally agree that Ledisi should have been the one to perform the song.

    • Anna says:

Um Beyonce doesn’t need to be “dragged” for anything. In interviews prior to the broadcast they said they all choose her to do the song and really wanted her to perform. And btw she did an amazing job, if only you could see past your dislike for Beyonce for a second you would be able to admit it

      • KJ says:

They didn’t choose her, she asked them if she could sing the song to introduce them. http://www.etonline.com/awards/grammys/159381_ledisi_john_legend_respond_to_beyonce_selma_controversy/

That was so messy and foul of her. She could have performed any one of her own songs, instead of asking to sing a song that Ledisi deserved to sing if anyone deserved to sing it. On top of that, anyone who’s ever sat in church and listened to “Precious Lord, Take My Hand” knows Beyoncé had no business singing that song and couldn’t do it justice. She was getting dragged on Black Twitter all night long and she deserved it.

Finally, I don’t expect any better of Kleptoncé, but I’m really disappointed in Common and John Legend for allowing things to go down that way.

      • Anna says:

Well I read something different but okay.

And “black twitter” didn’t drag her last night lmao so chill. What you had was the same black men who attack black women every chance they get in the face of “solidarity”. They act like they loveeee black women but if they wear weave, makeup or do anything that goes against what they believe to be a “proper” black woman they will spew their hatred and attack them non-stop and unfortunately sometimes other black women support this as well. Within the black community they’re known as “ankhs, barber shop [insert social media site here] or Shea butter ni**as”.
Everyone else praised Beyonce for her amazing performance. Don’t ally yourself with anti-black black people, it’s not cute.

      • Scarlet says:

She did not do an amazing job. she’s way overrated.

      • dagdag says:

        @Anna,

always good to learn something new; Ledisi fans are anti-black black people, ok.
        Everyone else is what?

      • Amy says:

        100%.

I think most of what people judge Beyoncé for is stupid but it’s things like this that make me not like her. She sees moments and needs to steal the attention and glory to make herself look better. She DESERVED to be dragged and yes let’s not look too deep into the darker skinned actual singer of the song being told to stay home while the lighter skinned singer gets to walk up to the stage with the whole production crew and act like she understands a word of what she’s singing.

Shame on Beyoncé. Ledisi was polite but she admitted she was disappointed. Bey’s a glory hog.

    • Nikki says:

Lesdsi was never scheduled to perform! Quit spread false information. Bey asked to open for them. It was never even an idea to have a singer open up for them. So how can Beyonce steal someone’s spotlight when they were never even considered? Were you this mad when Jennifer Hudson sang with Macklemore instead of Miranda L.?

Sometime of you all always try so hard to bring Beyonce down? She needs to be dragged? You gotta be joking.

      • dagdag says:

        @Nikki,

“….So how can Beyonce steal someone’s spotlight when they were never even considered?….”

Means: You steal the spotlight of someone not never even considered if you have the means to, for instance, oligarch.

      • notsoanonymous says:

I’m not the OP, but I actually WAS pretty mad when Jennifer Hudson came out instead of Mary Lambert last year, but I felt as the performance went on they did an okay job of fitting Mary in. She seemed thrilled to be on stage with everyone and has had some decent success with her album since. I really enjoy her music and her rise to semi-fame, considering she isn’t necessarily an artist everyone is going to love (spoken word on a pop album makes it a hard sell).

    • lukie says:

My mother’s mother was a huge Mahalia Jackson fan, so anything Mahalia makes mom happy. When my 76 year old mother heard Beyonce sing a few bars of the song, she changed the channel and mumbled “over rated girl thinking she can sing Mahalia’s songs” and rolled her eyes.

I think that just about sums it up.

      • Michelle says:

I never heard the song before but it didn’t sound good at all to me. Beyoncé doesn’t have the chops for a song like that. She didn’t do the song justice. It is unbelievably selfish and wrong of her to sing the song when the singer was more than willing to. Beyoncé just wanted to be a part of the Selma experience to make herself look good.

      • Melanie says:

Lol Lukie, I like your mom!

    • Layday says:

The general consensus on urban blogs is that Beyonce did not do this song justice, especially against singers like Ledisi. I know some Beyonce fans think she is impervious to criticism but she delivered that song without the feeling and emotion of her predecessors. People can agree or disagree over whether she stole Ledidi’s spotlight, but I think her version failed to deliver. Listen to Whitney Houston singing Precious Lord Take My Hand at Bobby Brown’s mom’s funeral or Mahalia’s Jackson’s version and there is no comparison. I think Ledisi came closer to capturing the essence of Whitney and Mahlia, and that is where the criticism is coming from. By choosing to perform that song, inevitablely people will make the comparison of who was more fitting to sing it, given that Ledisi recently sang it in Selma and did such an amazing job. Beyonce didn’t need to perform this song and I’m baffled as to why she asked to do so. Her performance added nothing to the Grammy’s except for being needlessly overhyped. I get it, the Grammy’s want rating but if you’re going to sing that song, then you need to take people to church. I don’t think Beyonce has that kind of voice so she should have said no and sang one of her own songs.

      • dagdag says:

You are so right and I wish I could express myself like that in the English language and, on the other hand, where is Anna, the one, so much pro Kanye.

      • Livealot says:

I agree. Beyonce should have introduced the song and shared her relationship to the song (as she did via video afterwards((eye roll)).
That would have been classy and an example of her sisterhood she’s been preaching. Instead the narrative is she jacked the song which only reminds me of her sour attitude during Dreamgirls when attention shifted to Jhud instead of her.

  5. deehunny says:

Beck is classy but it looks like Kanye was just making a joke. Beyonce can’t win everything all the time even if she deserves to. I’m not a huge bey fan but I give her props. She has that Star Quality (RuPaul’s Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve (Which I lump with ambition) and Talent.

What can I say? I’m excited for the season premiere lol

    • Michelle says:

It wasn’t a joke when he explained himself backstage. I wonder why he held his tongue onstage???

  6. Lahdidahbaby says:

I agree with Kanye that Bey deserved the win Beck got, though I think Beck’s album is probably great. Beck was classy as hell in his response to Kanye’s insults. Kanye – what can be said? He’s got real creative brilliance, and there’s a kind of sweetness about him when he’s not going sullen or cray – I buy his music, so I’m a fan – but no matter what anyone says, it was shitty of him to pull that move on Beck right at Beck’s big moment, whether or not he was kidding. And judging by his rant after the awards, he wasn’t kidding.

    • noway says:

This is the problem with Kanye, he probably didn’t listen to Beck’s album either. Maybe Beck’s album was also a creative force, and as good, but in a different way and genre than Beyonce’s. The Album of the year isn’t best sold album, that is from Billboard. Kanye probably would’t like those results either, as it is the other artist he ran on stage before to tell us Kanye’s edict: Taylor Swift. Kanye needs to take a seat and smile a bit, the sullen boy image that the world just doesn’t understand the creative is really getting old, even older than Madonna. Prince on the other hand is an icon that owns every night for just the few words he says. Kanye could learn a thing or two from him, but he won’t.

      • Amy says:

        Exactly this.

Kanye didn’t listen to that album. Kanye WON’T listen to that album. Kanye might listen to that album six months down the line and grudgingly admit it’s better than he thought but his ignorant ass will stubbornly simply support Beyoncé the same way he ignorantly supports Kim and blinds himself to the truth.

    • Anna says:

I’m pretty sure Kanye was kidding during the broadcast since he was laughing (along with everyone else in the audience) when it happened. No one took it seriously.

As for his comments after the show, I actually kind of agree. Beyonce deserved it and it’s sad she doesn’t get the recognition she deserves from the Grammys. She only ever wins (as Kaiser said) in R&B categories or when she against other black people. I’m pretty sure she’s only won a Grammy once or twice when it’s been against other “popular” artists.
And it’s unfair to say that you don’t think Kanye would’ve listened to Beck’s album lol Kanye’s always talked about his taste in music which has stretched across many genres… So he probably has listened to it

      • Dani2 says:

Beyonce has currently won 20 Grammy Awards and she will more than likely win many more, so I don’t know what you mean about her not receiving enough “recognition”.
I love her music but I can’t agree with you at all. Beyonce is plenty recognised and I’m proud of her but I won’t go around diminishing the artistry and achievements of other artists (like Kanye).

      • LNG says:

I only ever knew that Beyonce had won a huge number of Grammy Awards, but your comment made me curious so I just went and looked at what categories she has actually won for. Of the 20, only 2 have been in categories other than R&B/Rap. She won Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for Halo and Song of the Year for Single Ladies. She’s been nominated many other times, but never won the “main” awards (i.e: Song of the year, record of the year, album of the year). This year she won for Best Surround Sound Album, but I honestly have never heard of that category before.

      • Lola says:

He’s so dismissive of a guy who’s been successful for decades now, always experiments with his music and never settles for what’s comfortable for him, and who on top of it all is a very classy, humble dude. Beyonce does not stretch herself artistically similarly, so hearing Kanye’s rant is laughable. I love Beyonce, she’s amazing performer and singer and interpreter of songs, but Kaney seems so off on his assertions it’s funny. Like worry about your own wife and and let Beyonce take care of herself here.

      • Erin says:

Beyonce’s Grammy’s are all in R&B , she has never won the major awards , Album , Song or Record of the year.

Kanye has a tone of Grammy’s too all in Rap.
Grammy’s just keep recycling the same 5 or 6 rappers for nominations . Jay Z has a bunch of Grammy’s too and all in rap …

Kanye has never won the big awards.
Grammy voters are made up of many different artists, who have never honoured him with that respect so who the f–K told him he is the judge and jury of good music .

He is mentally unstable , if you watch the differnt videos, Kim runs up after him, , he came to his senses on stage and returned back to his seat , his face on stage wasn’t smiles, he only pretended to laugh it off when he sat down.

Also his rant after wards makes clear his first intentions weren’t to play a joke.
Kim’s face also makes clear while he’s ranting that she knows he’s crazy and has few screws loose, it actually made me feel sorry for her.

  7. Someonestolemyname says:

I want Prince’s beauty secret, like what Creams he uses, what he eats…the guy looks fantastic.

I often wonder if Michael had made a friend of prince , maybe it would have helped him see a different way of being talented, famous and an icon.

    • Dani2 says:

Prince is forever fabulous. I love him and what he said before he presented the best album award.

    • Sam says:

Prince is a Jehovah’s Witness. They’re notorious for their super-clean living – no alcohol, no drugs, nothing. I’ve met so many JWs who are “well-preserved.” Mormons too – Mitt Romney is almost 70 and Donny Osmond is almost 60 (and both are still looking pretty good).

      • jane16 says:

Sam, I have two JW relatives and a JW neighbor. They think that drugs are a sin (also smoking), but they do drink alcohol, just not to drunkeness.

    • jc126 says:

Decades of clean living. He’s been a vegan/vegetarian at various times; may still be and I think he’s a Jehovah’s Witness so no alcohol.

    • Senaber says:

      Lots of basketball and pancakes!

  8. Kiki04 says:

I’m just over Kanye. I wish he and the rest of the Kardashians would just do us a favor and disappear.

Joking or not, I think it’s just rude of him to steal the thunder from someone else’s award. If your music isn’t good enough to get a Grammy, don’t ruin it for the others.

  9. aquarius64 says:

I didn’t watch the Grammys this year because of some the nominees: Miley, Iggy, to name a few. I thought the Grammys were throwing them in the mix in order to get the 18-49 demographic to watch. No concern about musicianship. I’m glad to hear the pop tarts didn’t win. Concentrate on putting out good music and stay out of the tabloids.

I’m sorry to miss Prince’s performance. I can catch it on YouTuble.

Kim Kardashian – never met a red carpet she couldn’t walk. She’s the wife of a musician, not one herself. I’m surprised no reporter didn’t fire questions about Bruce Jenner at her.

Kanye’ being a jerk on stage – what else is new? It wasn’t funny when he did it to Taylor Swift and it’s not funny now.

    • Anna says:

Prince just made his statement before announcing the winner of Album of the Year (he didn’t look too amused by the result tbh).

And Kanye and Taylor got over the incident maybe you should too lol they were talking and making jokes at the Grammys

      • Tifygodess24 says:

@anna so it’s ok for him to just Rush the stage every time someone he doesn’t like wins? Or it’s ok for him to steal the moment from someone else? Why does anyone just need to get over it? It took Taylor a few years to get passed it and Who knows if she even really is behind closed doors.

      • Someonestolemyname says:

I love Kanye. He rushed the stage So what …, he didn’t murder anyone.
Taylor is over it and her PR people milked the incident forever, to make her a even bigger star.
I like them both Kanye and Taylor Swift.

        So over it.
Kanye was just a mess emotionally. If Taylor can forgive him, I can.

  10. L says:

I LOVE Beck, but I still can’t believe he’s a Scientologist. I know he was born into it, but I kind of thought he would have walked away at some point. That said, congrats!

  11. Eileen says:

I would like the Grammy show of 2016 include a performance of someone shoving a Grammy statue down Kanye’s mouth or someplace else he is a toddler masquerading as an adult

  12. Anna says:

I think it’s great that the Grammy’s had a segment on domestic violence and sexual assault but it kind of loses its edge when that same night they have Chris Brown there and awarded best rap album (for something so mediocre) to Eminem who raps about punching women in the face and raping them and has 50 shades of Grey commercials continuously through the broadcast..

  13. aenflex says:

Beck’s a scienentologist. Long time. He would have shut Kanye down. Hard.

    • Sam says:

I’m sort of curious as to what would happen if Kanye managed to run afoul of CO$. They might be the single group left that has a bigger complex than Kanye. I’d love to see that clash.

  14. Pipa says:

Wow, Beck is an amazing artist and songwriter and he deserves all the recognition. Beyonce is talented as well but she didn’t write her album and it’s not “the best marketing team” or “best songs about making out with your husband” category. It’s like comparing Beethoven and Nicki Minaj for the love of God.

  15. Vampi says:

Here’s more of what Kanye said to E! He’s full on looney tunes.
    http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/grammys-2015-kanye-west-rails-771636

  16. Cynthia says:

Honestly I kind of see where Kanye is coming from. I think that Beck is a great musician and even though I’ve listened to a few songs, I bet his album was very good. Still many people on social media last night were feeling like (lately) the Grammys don’t really give props to what’s considered Black music. Rarely artists who perform Black music win the major categories ; I mean they couldn’t find a Soul, r&b or hip-hop artists worth enough to be in the Best new artist category? And the fact that both Sam Smith and Adele (who’re super talented nonetheless) can make a Soul record and dominate the main pop categories speaks volume; because unfortunately Black Soul singers don’t really get that chance. So maybe it’s normal to feel like those genres aren’t really valued and considered worthy of praise unless made “mainstream” by white artists.

    • LB says:

I don’t disagree. But that’s not actually what Kanye said. Had he said that, I probably would just agree and shrug his antics off. Instead he compared himself and Beyonce to Beck, making it clear they were the real artists. Well what does that make Beck? Kanye needs to find a way to offer criticism in a more productive manner, aimed at the institution that enabled the win and not the winner himself. I was with him when he talked about the Grammys playing with them. I was not with him when he said Beck needs to respect artistry and give the award to Beyonce.

      • Dani2 says:

“Kanye needs to find a way to offer criticism in a more productive manner, aimed at the institution that enabled the win and not the winner himself”

EXACTLY. This was my main issue with his rant, Beck didn’t set this up to sabotage Beyonce and he was very cool about the whole thing, even when Kanye walked off the stage, he gestured for him to come back and the comments he made afterward really paint him as a decent guy. I fully agree that Hollywood is messed up with regards to how people of colour are treated but Kanye wasn’t 100% in my book.

      • Tifygodess24 says:

@LB spot on. And who is Kanye to say who is a real artist or not. It’s just his opinion and that’s it. Kanye thinks way too highly of himself and last I knew he wasn’t the authority on everything. What’s good in music is subjective plain and simple.

      • Cynthia says:

Yeah I agree with you on that. I think the “us” in his speech referred to Black music but he should have worded in a better way, because like that he sounds like he hasn’ t even listened to Beck’s album.

    • Lola says:

Yeah, but kanye acts the same tantrumed way over the Grammys AND the MTV video awards, that are just straight shit awards that mean nothing. He makes no distinctions, which is telling. And how silly is it for him to rail against the system here when the guy performed twice and sits front row at the same time? So hypocritical in some respects – way to fight the system kanye!

      • Cynthia says:

LOL at the VMAS he made a fool out of himself. I hope he was just very drunk that night. I don’t agree with all the things Kanye said, because I know Beck and how talented he is. My comments were in regard to what may have sparked Kanye’ scriticism.

    • Jayna says:

He dissed Beck as an artist. He never once said I respect Beck as an artist and his work, but I feel Beyonce should have won.

He completely showed a lack of respect to a fellow artist in the way he was ranting as if he and Bey are the only artists and Beck needs to back off and respect artistry and hand off the award.

I’m over Kanye. He even said when he goes up on stage like that you know what Ye means, and that he didn’t stay because of his baby daughter and his clothing line. LOL All about his brand.. Right. What he means, get off the stage, Beck.

He wouldn’t know how to sit down and give a thoughtful interview about his feelings if his life depended on it.

    • lukie says:

Black music wins…It just wins bigger awards when White people sing it… 😉

      • Erin says:

what musial instruments did black person / people invent and why is black american music vastly different last 2 centuries then music from Africa , pick any nation
        Who’s culture appropriates the other

      • anne_000 says:

@Erin – If your question was not purely rhetorical, but a genuine interest in educating yourself about musical instruments created by Black people, especially those in Africa and the influence of African music on the American musical culture, then go check out the page “Music of Africa” on Wikipedia as well as other sources on the internet. It answers all of your questions. Be sure to read the entire page. It also has many links which you can click to educate yourself even further.

There is also this page from Wikipedia “African-American music.” It will give you a more detailed explanation on the influence African music has had in America. It too has many links with which to educate yourself further.

    • word says:

Kanye was in the sudio the day Kim Kardashian recorded her song “Jam”. He offered his input on that song. He encouraged her it was a good idea to release that horrible song. This guy wants to talk about artistry and real music?

  17. scout says:

Haven’t watched Grammy yet, but I see Kanye was at it again, when does he and his wife grow up? Please God.

  18. han says:

Kanye, sit your ass down. It is not funny.at.all. Didnt he feel embarrassed with what Beck was saying? Maybe what he said about ‘true artistry’ is true but saying that to Beck? Come on now.

  19. Eleonor says:

The best thing was the “BITCH PLEASE” face Prince gave to Yeezus.

    • Sarah says:

^^This.^^ Kanye’s rants and the talk about people of color and the Grammy’s would have more oomph had Beyonce not already won 20 of them. She’ll probably win 20 more. He needs to sit down and be respectful. Perhaps if he ever wins again (doubtful), Taylor Swift can rush the stage. He would probably punch her.

    • jane16 says:

      YES!!! Thank you Eleonor!

  20. Duchess of Corolla says:

Beck kind of looks like David Spade.

  21. JM says:

As someone who had Van Halen dramatics going on behind him at a past MTV Video Awards, it was no surprise Beck was unfazed by Kanye’s douche move.

    • Lola says:

omg, I thought the same thing! He’s so mellow, that Beck, just lets all the out of control egos detonate around him while he picks up all the awards….lol

  22. Kate says:

That Kanye continues to pontificate on true artistry and creative genius, all the while attaching his train to the Kardashians, is both wildly ironic and ridiculously hypocritical. Why do people continue to take him and these award shows seriously?

  23. JoyJoy says:

I love Bey, but I’ve been a fan of Ledisi for a long time and she deserved her moment. I mean, she was actually in the movie. John and Common should’ve said no. #shameonBey #grammys

    • Amy says:

      Truth.

People come down on Beyoncé for a lot of things I think are stupid but it’s when she does things like this that I’m disappointed in her.

The woman who performed the song recently should have sang it. Beyoncé goes to the Grammy’s all the time and should have let another singer have that spotlight but no. It’s the Beyoncé Show and sh has to have all the attention even when it’s not here to have. I hope Ledisi knows how many people are sorry she wasn’t given her rightfully deserved opportunity.

  24. mcmiller says:

Watching bits of the show last night, my mantra was: just because something/someone is popular, does not make it/them good or talented.

    Mainstream music mostly sucks.

  25. Mellie says:

Ugh…Kanye needs to stop it. Many of us have varied music tastes and
ALL music is artistry, even some of Kanye’s crappy (at times) spoken word. I hate to break it to ole Kanye, but Beck has been around a long time plays multiple instruments, writes a lot of his own music…how many people did it take to write some of the numbers on Beyoncé’s latest album? LOTS! She has a beautiful voice, no doubt, she is a phenomenal entertainer, not a doubt in my mind, but this was not her best album, in my opinion, and apparently the people who decide who wins the grammy!

    • jc126 says:

I agree. I’m sick to death of hearing from Kanye how awesome Beyonce is, because he always does it in the context of putting down other artists. “He should respect true artistry”? Give me a break.

  26. mle says:

I bought Beck’s album, Morning Phase, after hearing one of the tracks on the radio. It’s one of my top ten favorite albums. Hands down. I had never really listened to Beck, but that album is a masterpiece.

    • word says:

I highly doubt Kanye or Kim listened to Beck’s album either. They are just right up Beyonce’s a$$. I bet Beyonce is embarrassed about the whole thing AGAIN.

  27. Susan says:

So Kanye says “Beck should respect artistry and give the award to Beyonce”? Maybe Kenye needs to widen his musicality and respect the global range of music. How embarrassing to watch his ridiculous wife (and frankly Beyonce and audience) laugh at his antics. It bordered on mean spirited. Beck is no boy band or one hit wonder so respect his alternative music Kenye.

  28. dragonlady sakura says:

Marry me, Prince! No seriously, MARRY ME! I’m still single.

  29. MadMenluv says:

ugh, so much to say about kanye, here we go, bare with me!

First of all, Kanye once again tried to make it about himself, rushing the stage, at first i thought ok he’s sorting poking fun at himself which was funny, then, at the E afterparty thing he starts ranting and that’s when I knew he wasn’t joking at all, he just didn’t wanna go all the way Kanye again and he just ranted to E!

He started saying all this crazy stuff about how the grammy’s have to recognize real artists, and something else that made no sense, he said something like “me i don’t worry about myself because i have my wife and my daughter and my clothing line so i have to worry about my daughter when it comes to creativity” or some such crazy nonesense…huh??? first thanks for plugging your terrible clothes no one wears and what the hell are you talking about?? of all the people to call uncreative and undeserving, you’re singling out Beck??? he’s been around way longer than you or Beyonce or those other losers, jesse j, katy perry, ariana whatever…ugh it made me so mad! my husband and i were just like really dude??? get off the screen.

And then he started talking smack about the E network, and told those E people including Khloe to take the E logos off their mics!! I’m like if it wasn’t for E your wife wouldnt be where she is…do you even know what you’re saying?? and Khloe dumb as she is did take off her E logo off her mic, those people are just ridiculous…i can’t believe these E correspondents would rather kiss Kanye’s ass then support where they work and who pays them!

Kim stood by all dumbeyed but she did kind of look at him like, oh s*** here we go again…

sorry for the long rant, but i was soo annoyed watching that megalomaniacal loser!

    • Amy says:

      LMAO.

Yeah poor dumb Kanye. He should have kept it at the joke and built up some goodwill. I was even happy he could be aware enough to understand how wrong it was and simply mimic the action but then…nope. Has to go and prove everyone wrong/right and act like a first class turd dropper.

    • word says:

Did you see the part in the after show where Kim texted Khloe to ask her if they had to put the E logo back on the mics lol ! Like Kanye just had to know. Who the eff is Kanye to tell a network what to do? He does know that his little wife’s career depends on the E Network right? I’m glad E made them put the E logo back on as soon as Kanye left…ha ha take that Kanye !

But seriously though, does this dude not have anything else to worry about in life other than a damn E logo on a mic? What a life ! He also told some kid at LAX later on that night to throw away his shoes and said “don’t you wish you had these” and pointed to his own shoes. Wow Kanye really? Telling a kid to throw away his shows because they aren’t as good as yours? Shut up.

  30. kri says:

Wow. I’m tired of this crap. If he is so hooked on “respecting artistry” why doesn’t he sue his wife’s plastic surgeon? WHy go after Beck, who is a brillinat artist? Why not make a statement without rushing ANOTHER artist who has done nothing to you, Kanye? And if you look at Jay-Z’s face, he was mortified, until he thought it was a joke. I thought so too, until I read Kanye’s statement. I hope, I PRAY that if he wins a Grammy Taylor Swift busts up there with some bodyguards and some Pinterest strawberry jam or whatnot, and says “Here is some TRUE ART, Kanye. Now go jam up your muffin.” And I don’t even like Tay Tay. Beck handled this well.

    • Amy says:

I haven’t really liked Jay Z but the look on his face when Kany was running up the stage makes me want to see him in a buddy cop film with Kanye.

“No Kanye… No, no, no. No! We talked about this Kanye! We talked about – ! …oh. Ohhhhh. Oh thank God. Lord this motherphucker is gonna kill me…”

    • word says:

Beck writes and produces ALL his own music. If that’s not “artistry” then what is? Beck doesn’t have a team of writers and helpers. It’s all his own work. If the Grammy committee felt Beck had the best album, then so be it. Beyonce has won MANY awards. She’s a frickin Billionaire for God’s sake. I’m sure she’ll be just fine. She will still sell albums and still do her shows. Kanye is a cry baby and extremely disrespectful. I’m sure Kim is loving the extra media coverage today though.

  31. kri says:

And yes, PRINCE!!!!!!!!! He is like an angel/unicorn/disco god master of the universe!! Respect that, Kanye.

  32. Amy says:

The more I see Kanye at events the more I truly believe that if a Beyoncé and Jay Z were to have marital issues and divorce h would physically climb over Kim to get to her.

There’s overprotective loyal friend and then there’s obsessive hair sniffer. Notice how Kanye can never defend Kim’s ‘art’ outside of her looks? Hmmm. Some tension there and Kim’s just too happy to be in camera view to even notice.

    • Lola says:

yessssss. it’s creepy at this point. lol

    • Jayna says:

He sure would. He is the one who had her dye her hair blonde. And when Kim went back to black, she said in an interview he keeps asking her to go back to blonde for him.

He wants to turn his little porn star into a talented, respected, A-lister icon like his beautiful Bey, who he clearly is obsessed with.

      It’s not going to happen.

    • MadMenluv says:

“kim’s art” lol omg that was a good one Amy, an oxymoron in its truest sense!

btw, what do you think kim would think is the definition of oxymoron??
i think she would think an oxymoron is a moron who used too much oxy facial wash and cleaned off all the bronzer…that’s as far as her brain functions

    • kri says:

LMA0 at ”hair sniffer and yes Amy.You are right.

  33. Adrien says:

I’m just happy Aphex Twin won. And Iggy lost to Eminem. Yay!

  34. Jayna says:

How young does Prince look? Wow.

John Legend and Common were brilliant.

Annie Lenox showed the young-uns how it’s done.

Usher really did Stevie Wonder proud.

AC DC brought some well-needed energy to the show.

I thought Madonna’s song was great. It’s a great bop and has some grat meaning, being triumphant and not giving up on love after being used and hurt in a past relationship(s), and also brought some well-needed energy, since so much of the whole night was slow as far as types of performances.

  35. Cynthia says:

Let it be clear that with my previous comment I didn’t want to condone Kanye’s comments on Beck. I agreed with his speech except for the part about real artistry which was totally out of place since we’re talking about Beck. I wish Kanye was able to process his thoughts before talking because half of the time his message get lost in the delivery. He could have raised a very important point about what’s wrong with the Grammys , but instead he had to ruin it by dismissing Beck’s talent ugh.

  36. daughter of jean says:

I think Prince looks every bit his age. I wish he would have performed though because he is an incredible entertainer. Annie Lennox got completely lost in the song and it was fantastic to see. Loved it! That and Rihanna’s performance was the best imo. Beck was great as well. Beyonce was like an ego trip. I didn’t really enjoy her.

    • Dawn says:

I was lucky enough and old enough to see Prince play in the clubs in Minneapolis before he was famous. And we all knew that he was going to be another big one from Minnesota, he was great and he is great now. But those old songs are some of the best stuff ever. Little Red Corvette anyone?

      • Jaded says:

Me too! I saw him in the early 80’s at good old Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, great front row seats. His show was unreal….whole audience up dancing like rock stars. Sigh…the good old days….

  37. AtlLady says:

We can never have enough Prince or Tom Jones. Meow, purr, purr.

  38. rudy says:

    Beck is a PRACTICING SCIENTOLOGIST.
He is a supporter of a Kult that kills, steals and divides families.

I will NOT and NEVER support anything having to do with Beck until he renounces this disgusting excuse for a religion.

    Boo on YOU Grammy voters.
    Beck is a LIER.

    • Marrria says:

Are you serious? Is that you Kanye? 😀
I’m not big on Scientology either but to discard talent because of someones beliefs is messed up. Beck is hardly a “LIER” for being a member of CO$.

  39. Lucy says:

Beck is a class act and Prince is everything!!

  40. Bumbum says:

American press dont understand sarcasm obviously!
Beck calling yeezus s genius was a total shade.

  41. Bumbum says:

Not many americans understand sarcasm obviously!
I think kanye has stopped his lithium again

  42. Quinn says:

    Dear Kanye,
Please sit down and shut the f*ck up.

    Signed,
    The World

Sorry Kanye, but Beck is waaay better than Beyonce. I’m glad he’s finally getting his dues.

  44. Jan Harf says:

Axtell’s speech left me breathless. As someone who has been in her position, I was overcome by emotion. It’s such a secret suffering, and to have someone acknowledge it on national television? I was taken aback and so stunned.

I know that during Pharrell’s silent motion in mid-performance was supposed to be a visual message about Trayvon Martin (hoodie) and Michael Brown (hands up), but I think he should have included the words “I can’t breathe” to include a reference alluding to Eric Garner.

I liked how he changed the song to make it a little more somber and dramatic. Very creative.

  46. emma says:

just need to get this out in the universe: Kanye is dumb or whatever, but Beyoncé is overrated and her album should not have won album of the year — regardless of whether Beck’s album should have won.

Not a Bey fan, mostly because I just don’t listen to her music. But I remember reading the lyrics from her “Crazy in Love” song years ago, and they were so stupid and cliché. That’s all I can think of when I hear about the newer song, “Drunk in Love.” I would call her an entertainer, on par with Britney Spears, not an artiste. Then again, I don’t really know Britney’s catalog either.

      • ella says:

Oops… the first song was “Dangerously in Love,” from the Destiny’s Child days, not “Crazy in Love.” Sample lyric: I love you… I love you, I love you
Baby I love you, you are my life
My happiest moments weren’t complete if you weren’t by my side
You’re my relation and connection to the sun

Where’s the danger? Getting too close to the sun?

  47. word says:

If Kanye thinks Beyonce is so great, why hasn’t he ever done a song with her? I’m guessing SHE refuses lol.

  48. Frosty says:

Prince and Annie Lennox both stole the show. And it needed to be stolen!
