Jessa Duggar believes she has the right to judge everyone else’s sins, of course

jessa3

I almost majored in Religion in college. I loved my comparative religion classes and while I’ve never been a religious person, I was fascinated by so many aspects of comparative religion and the evolution of many religions. It’s always funny to me that American Christians – particularly the Southern Baptists – think they have the franchise on godliness or purity. Which leads me to a Facebook post made by Jessa Duggar-Seewald yesterday. Jessa is all of 22 years old, which means she obviously knows everything about everything. Jessa usually uses her social media to promote her politics and religion, and it’s usually about reproductive rights and how the ladies shouldn’t have them (except that I’m pretty sure she’s on the Pill). Anyway, Jessa posted a lengthy Facebook yesterday, the point of which is that “judge not lest ye be judged” should not apply, because judgy Christians are doing the Lord’s work by judging other people.

One of the most quoted verses from the Bible is Matthew 7:1 “Judge not!” Whenever someone speaks out against something that God calls sin, “Don’t judge!” can be heard coming from a thousand lips. People don’t like to have other people disapprove of the way they’re choosing to live their life.

I will speak to you a hard truth. I do not write this because I think that it will bring me popularity. It won’t. But it is Truth from the Word of God: the Bible. To not tell people this is to hide the truth from them. To keep silent is to not care for their eternal destiny! I care about you, and this is why I am speaking out!

In this world, people have seared their consciences. The standard of what is “ok” or “permissible” in our society today, hardly reflects God’s standard. People are content to live on in lying, cursing, pride, anger, bitterness, disrespecting of parents, lust, pornography, fornication, adultery, and other sexual sins– and if anyone tries to confront them, their attitude and response is, “You live your life, I’ll live mine. Don’t you tell me what to do! Only God can judge me!”

They don’t even realize what they’re saying. God’s judgement isn’t something to be taken lightly! It should scare you! Man’s “judgement” is a 1000x lighter… usually just a voicing of disapproval. But when unbelieving, sinful men die and stand before God, He justly condemns them to hell.

[From Jessa’s Facebook]

There’s a lot more on that post, but you can just go to the link if you want to roll your eyes at her. This should be taken as an FYI – if Jessa comes up to you, ranting about what you’re doing wrong, you’re not allowed to shrug and tell her “You do you, mind your business.” She’s only judging you (harlot!) because she cares. And she cares because… the Bible. The Bible that says “judge not lest ye be judged.” How about this one, Jessa? “Pride comes before the fall.”

She’s a tool. I just can’t with that whole family.

    • MCraw says:

      They’re all so weird.

I mean, I guess on one side, it’s true that people get up in arms if you don’t condone certain behavior- on a recent trip I was on, someone busted out a bag of coke and everyone around me took part and I was horrified (did NOT expect it and never actually saw coke). I simply exited the room, didn’t say anything to draw attention to myself- and I was called a judgy bitch! People get unreasonably angry simply knowing that you don’t like doing some of the things they do.

On the other hand, while I don’t agree with using hard drugs or abortion FOR MYSELF, I’m not making it my business to tell others that their going to hell for whatever their sin is. Even if you act perfect, Jesus said your sinful *thoughts* condemn you- meaning, we ALL are in the same sinful boat, thus the need for his sacrifice. No sin is better or worse that another, so this girl needs to get off her high horse and quit giving Christians- who are called to love at all times and guide when necessary- a bad name.

      • InvaderTak says:

The people you described in the coke situation are the absolute worst to me. Hypocrites. You don’t get to name call if someone disagrees with you. That’s judging too. And then they’ll go on and on about how they don’t care. Yeah. Sure.

      • SeaBreeezy says:

I’m just sorry, that it’s the nutty fanatics who end up on TV shows and in news, for not only unkind things, but clearly fanatic use of verses they choose to interpret in a way that suits thier views. I am a Christian. I moved from Seattle to Alabama when I was 31… Lived there for 7 years. So I’ve seen enough of those “average” Christians, to know, that the majority don’t warp things, or think that they must impose their opinions when it’s clearly not asked of them. But what is known, the ones that make the news, are the ones that make us all look crazy and controlling. I promise, it’s not the norm. I only bring out my beliefs, if someone asks me. We are to live in a way that would be a good example to someone who came asking. Not judge or pry into others lives. So it’s hard to see all the anger towards Christians, when what most know of them, is not at all the norm, but it would take more time and energy than I have, to say so, everytime the crazy ones start an uproar.

      • Birdix says:

Seabreezy, what you say is true of many religions. If she were Muslim she wouldn’t have to take this much further before she’d be on a government watch list.

    • annaloo. says:

Total tool . And if she is going to Heaven, then Heaven is the LAST place I’d want to be!

  2. cr says:

What an insufferable, arrogant, ignorant, narcissistic twat.

    • JohnWayneLives says:

Lol tell us your “hard truths” Jessa lol.
She was raised in a christian cult. That’s how they do.

      • CALI says:

The Bible also teaches to ‘love’ all sinners but hate the sin – that is what Jessa appears to forget.
Additionally- it also teaches us to be gentle when one knows of wrong doing – to be gentle and take this person aside in an attempt to be courteous but loving; it recommends for an ‘elder’ to set that person ‘gently’ on a right path.

The Bible does not teach to us a bludgeon and hit everyone over the head when one thinks that they do wrong.
Jessa should be very careful because it states “You should never throw the fist stone if you sit in a glass house – we are all born in sin!”

I take The Bible teachings to heart – but would not use my personal taste to bludgeon anyone else not agreeing with me; as it says: “Love your enemy as you love yourself” – meaning one should love all including those whom we disagree with.

  3. Kiddo says:

I thought she was Evangelical? Hmm, don’t care. I hate all things reality TV, and I am judging her for that, so there you have it.

  4. yep says:

Whoops. If that trick is going to shove Gods teachings down my throat, then she already effed up and her husband has the beat the crap out of her. Thats IF shes going by bible law.
Cant cherry pick what suits you , Jessa dear.
Go all in or not at all.

  5. Wren33 says:

“Beware of the scribes, who like to walk around in long robes, and love greetings in the marketplaces and the best seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at feasts, who devour widows’ houses and for a pretense make long prayers. They will receive the greater condemnation.”

    • FLORC says:

      Slow clap!
The only thing I would change about your post is to add at the bottom
      *drops mic*
Because it was just that perfect.

      • Joy says:

This. Is it me or is this girl and her family obsessed with sex sex sex sex. I don’t think the world cares as much about it as she does.

      • FLORC says:

        Joy
She’s been raised to want that. The way she goes on about it though seems very immature.

    • Senaber says:

Damn Wren33! Throwing down a biblical reality check like a boss! (Luke 20:46 I think?)

    • Frosty says:

      Beautiful +++

    • MC2 says:

      Boom! Well done!!!

    • Hazel says:

Well done. I’m in awe of your knowledge.

    • The Other Katherine says:

Matthew 7:1: “Judge not, that ye be not judged.”
John 8:7: “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.”
Matthew 6:6: ” But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.”
Luke 4:18: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.”

      #JesusThoughts

I don’t think Jessa understands what these words actually mean.

  6. Pandy says:

New reality show – The Battle of the Klans! Kardashians vs Duggars on a distant island with no connection to the outside world. Can we make this happen?

    • Lizzie Babette says:

Oh, I would PAY to see that!

      • sionainne says:

That would be the only way I would watch either of those families. Or how about a Celebrity Wife Swap, trading Kim and Michelle? I would love to see how Kanye would deal with (and dress) Michelle. Jim Bob and his family’s reaction to Kim would be equally priceless.

    • wonderwoman21 says:

I think the Duggars would win, not only because there is more of them but also because the Kardashians would have a mental breakdown of you removed them from their sycophants and places of worship (aka the plastic surgeon’s office and the local waxing hole).

      • Lucky Charm says:

But ALLLLL that female skin exposed would make the Duggar girls lose their voices from yelling “NIKE!” all the time, and make the boys go blind and then burst into flames.

    • Ginger says:

      Great idea!

    • lucy2 says:

Only if it’s a two families enter, none ever come back situation.
Having to live with each other on a deserted island would be some sweet justice, I think.

    • jujoki says:

I see your Kardashians and Duggars and I throw Charlie Sheen’s family on there. Just because.

    • Gigi says:

There’s the next celebrity wife swap idea. Imagine Kris’ face with that many girls but none of them can show any skin.

  7. Birdix says:

In this world, I live on in pride and bitterness, judging her poor grammar. And she gets to be God’s right hand man, who judges better than every other person (isn’t that spot taken?)

  8. Miran says:

Well, Jessa. I only criticize your family out of concern for the roughly 79 daughters who will all grow up thinking their ultimate purpose in life is to submit 100% to the will of a man. So yeah.

  9. portlandjan says:

While the sentiments may indeed be hers, I believe that someone else actually composed that screed for her. None of the Duggars are literate enough to express themselves this elaborately.
The joke’s going to be on you, Jessa: while you’re forced to hobnob with Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell, I’ll be enjoying a nice glass of wine with MY new besties- Christopher Hitchens, Margaret Meade, Oscar Wilde, Mark Twain, Josephine Baker and Jimi Hendrix. Oh, and the REAL Jesus, not your version, is bringing the cheese and crackers

    • doofus says:

Jesus is bringing the wine, too! or making it…not sure. but anyway, Jesus ====> wine.

      • Vampi says:

“Wine and Keepin’ It Real With Jesus”
Now THAT is a reality show I’d watch. Where Jesus gives all these ‘think they know it alls’ what for!
        Bring on the Lambrusco!

      • Lucky Charm says:

I don’t know about bringing the wine, but He’ll definitely make more when we run out!

    • Hazel says:

I’m with you, portlandjan. Can I bring Mr. Dickens & Dr. Seuss along?

      • portlandjan says:

Be my guest. The more the merrier. We can amuse ourselves by looking up at the Duggars, in their lame-ass heaven and point and laugh.

  10. Heather H says:

The pretty exterior does not hide the ugliness inside.

    • Macey says:

She may be considered pretty but she has some serious crazy behind her eyes. Btwn that and her fake smile the chick scares me.

  11. aims says:

This whole family are a bunch of idiots.

If we’re judging then they’re a bunch of breeders who are neglectful to their kids. You can’t have that many kids and think you’re being a attentive parent. The numbers alone don’t add up.

    • Miran says:

If you have to use an honest to God buddy system to go anywhere, not just the usual ‘hold your sisters hand’ bit, you have too many freaking kids.

  12. minx says:

This uneducated little twit should shut her Jesus pie hole.

  13. Cait says:

She has a pretty loose understanding of Matthew. All I’m sayin’.

  14. platypus says:

Projecting much? Living in constant fear of being condemned to hell must be a pitiful existence.

  15. Dawn says:

This is where her home schooling got her. She and her sisters and brothers don’t stand a chance unless they get themselves a real life. And yet they are reality “stars” as in “stars” like the KrapTrashians – Jenner family. It would be interesting to see how they would react to the family of zero values and morals and how the KrapTrashians would react to them and their cherry picked morals and Bible scripts! They should have to trade places for a month and see what happens. I swear it would be the only way I would watch either of their shows…oh and throw Kate Gosslin in there for more fun! I say they are all hypocrites who will do and say anything if the price is right.

  16. Jaded says:

    Jessa….read this please:

Romans 14:1-4: “As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him. Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand.”

    • JB says:

I have a friend from high school that goes to the Jessa Duggar school of ministry, apparently. She posts this same exact crap about how you aren’t helping anyone if you don’t judge them in God’s place. I’m tempted to copy what you posted here and paste it on her facebook wall.

      • Jaded says:

Good idea! A gentle rebuttal taken directly from the Bible is the only way to deal with these “holier than thou” types.

  17. Lara Morgana says:

I used to enjoy the show – it was interesting to see how the family managed all those children. Then the courtships started and I was creeped out beyond words.

These folks are obsessed with sex. They want women covered from neck to knee yet they allow cameras in the bathroom when Anna is giving birth on the toilet (think about that if you will).

Couples are never allowed to be alone together for a minute before marriage – no hugs, no kisses, no private conversation – so, of course, they rush into marriage just because their hormones are raging.

Weird bunch of people. Weird. And creepy.

    • Angel says:

Seriously! The one thing you used to be able to count on with these fundie groups and their early marriages (I try to see the best in people – hard sometimes) was that they understood and taught their kids that marriage, children and adult life took work and responsiblity. These recent Dugger marriages are completely irrisponsible – no proper jobs! If they want to pretend it’s not about hormones fine, but I would have thought their parents would be really fussy about they men who have to support their daughters (and all the kids they’re supposed to have).

  18. Lilacflowers says:

So, Jessa, do we all get to play this judgy game? Because I really don’t think you want to hear my judgment of you posing with that weapon. Thou shall not kill tops all those other rules in my view

    • TotallyBiased says:

YES! THIS! CAN I GET A HALLELUJAH!
Adding ‘cute’ pink accents does not turn a weapon of murder (cause you SURE as h*e* double hockey sticks don’t need that for hunting) into a sweet, feminine accessory. Although it does highlight the crazy in her eyes.

  19. Lucy says:

She reminds me of Amanda Bynes’s character in Easy A.

  20. kri says:

Sigh. Extremism is the most dangerous and sinful (if you will) thing in this world. I have been fascinated from a very early age with religions, and comp.rel. was also one of my faves in college. I continue to study in my own way. It’s so interesting because the best and worst of humanity is consistently shown in our manmade religious constructs. Do I believe this twit is correct? Nope. Do I believe that people of any faith are crazy or naive for believing? Nope. Your religion should make you kinder, more compassionate and always aware of your own humanity and imperfections. Once you start using it to set yourself higher than another person, you are missing the point.

    • booboobird says:

years ago I didn’t know how bible obsessed some people really are. and what bugs me the most is that for every bad (man, that sounds so tame) thing they do or say they can find an excuse and a quote from the bible about how whatever they do is right and god approves of them.

      • doofus says:

people used to use religion and “Jesus says so!” to justify lynchings and other horrific acts. so…yeah, what you said…

  21. chaine says:

    She! Cares! About! Me!

  22. LouLou says:

Here’s a judgment: Learn how to spell judgment, biotch.

    • Jay says:

Not to defend Jessa (she’s a twat), but both “judgment” and “judgement” are considered correct.

      • LouLou says:

Thanks! LOL. I didn’t know that until today. I will stop being judgmental when I see people use the word judgement!

  23. BeckyR says:

She has the right to state her views. I have a right not to read or hear anything the Duggars have to say. Actually, I pity them.

    • melain says:

Yes she has a right to state her views. But I doubt these are her views, or I certainly hope not. I suspect this is someone else’s self-righteous rhetoric that she heard and is parroting. And this rhetoric isn’t from the Christian bible which includes this description of Christ’s purpose, “God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world. He sent him so that the world could be saved.” Or how about, “The Lord God is merciful and forgiving.” Or, “God loved the world so much that he gave his only son.” And also, “Judge not, or you’ll be judged.” And my personal favorite, You will KNOW they are Christians by their love.” These words are in the bible. And more like them. It’s pretty clear that God loves people. Not sure how hate mongering came to be labeled as Christianity.

  24. Izzy says:

These people are SO effed up.

  25. doofus says:

but their “judgment” is NOT just “a voicing of disapproval”. this family actively campaigns against the LGBT population…not just voicing disapproval but campaigning for discriminatory laws.

  26. FLORC says:

Anyone can pick out any line and when used out of context or with even a slight change in interpretation/meaning it can become the exact opposite of what it was. I’ve always given a side eye to those who quoted me scripture. Usually because they were doing it out of pride.

The core of the faith should be all we focus so greatly on. Be a good person. Treat others like you would want to be treated, but respect they are walking their own path. Offer help, but don’t insist upon them taking it. And stop throwing rocks Jessa. We all have shames and demons we hide. You’re no different.

Regarding the Pill. There was a rash of endometriosis among the girls in my Catholic church. It was the loop hole to get on the pill as it’s used sometimes for treatment.

    • cr says:

“I thought it was just that common, but it was simply a loop hole to get on the pill for strict catholic families. ”
I work at a Catholic institution. And it was made very clear that our health care plan will not cover BC that’s prescribed for birth control. But if it’s prescribed for anything else? Sure!

      • FLORC says:

That’s so crazy. What gets me on the pill shouldn’t matter. If it’s perscribed it should be for treatment since if you’re going on it to prevent pregnancy you’re already doing something the church doesn’t approve of.

        Char below
Agreed. This loophole will slowly introduce the use of the pill intot he church and over time the stigma will wash away.

    • CharlotteCharlotte says:

It’s sad that they needed a loop hole, but jolly good on them being empowered enough to be able to make their situations work to their favour . I guess this is what women operating inside of a strict system of control have been doing for time untold. Maybe for some it’s a stepping stone to more freedom of choice and independence.

  27. it'sjustblanche says:

I hate it when these dumb cows want to carry a pink gun, like it’s so cute and they’re just so precious.

  28. InvaderTak says:

The point goes way over her head. If your entire faith is caught up in defending said faith to anyone and everyone and using hackneyed PERSONAL interpretations of the Bible to defend your own actions/thinking you’re not doing it right. There are so many factors to reading the Bible properly; context, translations, euphemisms, history around the specific story etc etc. Why do the Fundies think they get it by just reading it? Never understood that and never will.

  29. Ginger says:

And AC/DC “I’m on the highway to hell…” is playing in my head now! 🙂 I don’t care about her judgment.

    • doofus says:

I may be going to hell in a bucket, but at least I’m enjoying the ride, girlie!

    • Micki says:

Lol, and it’s “Holier than thou” Metallica in mine.
While being a judgimental bitch I am “Afraid to shoot strangers” Iron Maiden but she irritates me so….

  30. Vampi says:

    Straight up creepy.
I really, REALLY hope that their fame someday manages to take them out of their bubble and they can see how sheltered and opressed they have been….like robots.
I mean, they have 19 freakling kids! One……ONE has to come out someday and talk about how messed up it all was, right? The odds seems so. I hope so.
Imagine the Duggar freak out if one did…
    Ooooooooohhh!

    • Itsa Reallyme says:

The poor child would probably not feel they could live true to who they really are. I bet they’d hide it and try to live like their parents expect. It’s pretty sad to think about.

    • Honeybee Blues says:

Statistically, “ONE has to come out someday…” end of sentence, as at least one of those kids is gay in all probability.

  31. boredblond says:

    I guess I’m the only one who doesn’t know who this is..that aside..’judging’ other’s actions..would that EVER happen on this site?..oh, wait….hahaha..

  32. Joh says:

She is confusing doing gawds work and doing his job.
The fact that she is not pregnant yet means she is either not having sex or she is on the pill, which makes her a liar.
That family has VERY fluid morals,

  33. Murphy says:

    Hey Jessa!! (And Jim-Bob)

I’m a married but childless (by choice) woman in Connecticut and I can do whatever I want!!!

    WHATEVER. I. WANT.
    EVERY.SINGLE.DAY.

  34. some bitch says:

That top picture is terrifying- she looks like she would kill another human being (as long as they weren’t a fetus of course) and feel zero remorse for it.

  35. bsg8 says:

I am leaving a comment here for the first time to beg you: please, please, please stop covering these people. You are only adding fuel to the fire. They need to be ignored and go away. Please, please.

  36. Jess says:

Please stop covering these people. They are not celebrities and they do not deserve our attention. (The same could be said for the Kardashs, but there is an argument that someone somewhere can make that they are celebrities, which is sad). Anyway no more Duggars, please!!

  37. belle de jour says:

Quite a few self-identified Christians have difficulty with the transition from hardcore Old Testament mores, judgement & retribution to New Testament teachings of forgiveness, acceptance and reconciliation. When they don’t make the intellectual or personal transition themselves, it opens the path to convenient ‘cherry-picking’ and selective observance of conflicting so-called laws and tenets.

The fact that she’s loaded her own offensive verbal assault weapon with hollow quotes and ill-considered paradoxes will only leave her smug, well-rested in her piety, and missing both the point – and her targets – completely.

  38. MC2 says:

I’d post some long, educated rant but the fact is that this family is hypocritical to the umpteenth degree & other posters have said it well. This woman has no useful advice about my life & I hope she is finding her own voice for herself & family (& not screaming at others). They just suck IMHO. I do not believe that telling others that they are going to hell is the “Christian Way”. Again- they suck (that was an educated, intelligent, strong ending point on my part…..)

  39. Micki says:

    …” Man’s “judgement” is a 1000x lighter”
Yes, girl, tell this all the witches on the stake and the heathen slaughtered like cattle.

    • Danskins says:

And to the thousands of blacks who were lynched and millions of Africans who were enslaved against their will all because their slavers justified their evil acts because “the Bible told them so.”

  40. K says:

It’s ridiculous that someone like Jessa acts as though her “purity” is the end result of her own efforts at spiritual maturity rather than, oh, let’s say…. being born into an insular cult run by hyper-controlling parents who micromanage her life and rushed her into what was basically an arranged marriage at the earliest available opportunity. The parents know it too — their kids would NEVER be 100% chaste on their own, that’s why they need the brainwashing and constant surveillance.

  41. Elena says:

I have the feeling that if Jesus himself stood before those people and told them they were wrong, they’d just call him a “fake” and a tool of Satan. ‘Cause they can never be wrong. Not ever.
Second Coming can’t come fast enough, they’re all long past their hell due date. *irony*

  42. GoOnGirl says:

She’s beginning to grate on my nerves like Kim Kardashian. Can this girl also please just go away?

  43. ellesbelles says:

well, if shes going to judge me, I’m going to judge her. Judge judge judge judge judge judge judge judge. What now Jessa?

  44. Elleno says:

You know what, I would take 10,000 vapid Kim K posts any day over the nonsense from this moron. Blah blah blah blah blah. Hey Jessa, try reading a book once on a while, and maybe meet some people outside your extreme religious sect. You have a LOT of work to do on yourself little woman, before you go and judge others. A. LOT. OF. WORK.

  45. Hazel says:

Wow. God is scary! (read with heavy sarcasm) I don’t believe for a minute that Jessa wrote this. I’ve heard her talk, she is incapable of being articulate. When the girls all read their little notes at Jill’s shower, not of one of them–Jessa included–wrote anything with depth or clarity.

    • portlandjan says:

I don’t either. I’m guessing that one of the few “edumacayted” people in her circle drafted it for her. The verbiage is more sophisticated than any of the Duggars are capable of.

  46. DTX says:

This girl is SEX-OBSESSED. She will be the one to get caught up in cheating scandal in the next few years because her weak-d*ck husband won’t give it to her enough or how she wants it. We could all tell from beginning of the akward kissing pics that she is the aggressor/HBIC in that marriage. He will cry & forgive Her and she’ll use her “testimony” to condem MORE people. Like that one Hobby Lobby/Chick-fil-a gun posing skank did. TRUST

  47. Meg says:

this is why I can’t stand to be around people like my brother and sister in law, they’re religious and truly believe it’s their place to judge everyone and everything. When my brother first introduced his wife to us my uncle said, ‘I guess I like her, but you can’t talk to her unless she agrees with everything you say.’
It makes it impossible to be around them. If we agree on everything, what is there to talk about? I truly think, many people, not all-but many people say their religious just so they can use the bible as an excuse to judge others to feel superior about themselves.

To be fair, we all do that to a certain extent, we all do that. Most of the posts around here are doing the same thing.

I am an American Christian and I do not think I have any franchise on godliness or purity. Generalizations about religion are just as obnoxious as this Duggar person is.

I cannot be angry for someone who chooses to dedicate their life in a positive manner to their preferred religion. She is just trying to be a witness. What is a sin for one person may be different than another’s view of sin. People just need to respect individual spiritual growth.

I definitely do not need to respect someone who attempts to have their own insane reading of a sky gods rules legislated. She can believe whatever nonsense she chooses but she and her family want other women to suffer by removing their choice in regards to fertility. They want to make other people miserable just because they don’t BELEIVE they should be able to get married. I don’t respect someone who believes in the tooth fairy why should I respect her fairy stories?

    • Deanne says:

“Individual spiritual growth”? She has been spoon fed doctrine her entire life, from her borderline illiterate Father and makes ignorant, bigoted statements all of the time, as does her teenage husband. I don’t have to respect her and don’t view her bigotry and hypocrisy as positive in any way. She misinterprets scripture to suit herself and her messages of hate too. She and her entire family are disgusting.

Some of the last few posts seem like quivering robots… Just saying.
Loving God is one thing..judging others is another. Too much to get into…and it won’t matter to these brainwashed folks anyway. Just *my* opinion and I’m entitled to it… and as far as *I’m* concerned..God is giving me a high five on this one…. And yes, I believe in God…but the Duggar’s God is no God of mine. *My* God believes in freedom of choice for both men AND women. Diggar’s do not. That’s bullshizz…. Fin.

As my mama used to say “bless her heart”. She’s 22 and life hasn’t kicked her in the ass yet. When it does, I hope it knocks her off her holy ass. This is not because i wish bad things on her, but that usually brings out the softer less judgmental side of people. Unfortunately, she lives in this crazy fundie bubble. I won’t hold my breath.

    • Deborah Allen says:

Your mama must have been southern, lol. My moms mother said the same thing and we always knew it was a polite obscenity.

If it does not require a phone call to law enforcement, child protective or emergency services then it is none of your business, or mine, so keep it moving.

I’m a religious professor. Here is a super-short article about how people misuse bible passages all the time to serve their own needs. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/01/17/are-christians-misusing-this-wildly-popular-bible-verse/ This is super basic, but you get the idea.

As all of you intelligent people have realised, this quote is actually about NOT judging others, not giving people permission to judge their peers.

    Uuuugh.
