Tom Hiddleston, Charlie Hunnam get new ‘Crimson Peak’ posters: hot?

CP1

Here are the new character posters for Guillermo del Toro’s horror film Crimson Peak, which will be out this fall. This is for all the people who needed a quick Tommy fix. Oddly enough, I have no feels about Tom’s character poster. Charlie Hunnam’s poster is the one that gave me pause. Is it just me or did they Photoshop Hunnam to look like some kind of Tom Hardy hybrid? Hm. Anyway, don’t get distracted. I know the Hunnam-fans will be seeing this no matter what, but I’m pretty sure Tom is the guy, the lead, the star.

Should I be worried about Tom? He hasn’t tweeted since April. He’s been working back-to-back. He came off a really strict diet. And he just doesn’t seem as playful as he used to seem. Remember when Tommy was a dancing bear? Remember when he would recite sonnets to waterfowl? Sigh… I miss that version. He’s also going to start filming on Kong: Skull Island at some point, maybe this year.

Oh, and did you know that some people (Dragonflies) are trying to get Tom’s name on the “shortlist” for James Bond? Damian Lewis is considered the favorite this week, and now that fans are just naming random people, sure, why not Tom Hiddleston for James Bond? He would be a pretty dorky choice for Bond, but I would enjoy that. Really, really enjoy that.

Here’s the trailer for Crimson Peak again:

  1. Beth No. 2 says:

Hmmm I am getting Loki vibes, at least visually.

  2. Damn says:

    Only for Charlie here.

  3. Bread and Circuses says:

Agreed with Beth No. 2, they made Tom look like Loki and Charlie look like…I don’t even know. Not himself.

    • Abbott says:

He always looks way different without facial hair but they definitely photoshopped his photo with the Lego movie filter or something.

  4. p'enny says:

    he’s mine!!!!

The airbrushing isn’t doing any of them any favour, they all look like they are wearing lego-wigs and as Charlie’s hair, that is one mean cross-over, its enough to make Donald Trump jealous.

No to Tom being James Bond, Jonathon Pine is close enough…

    • NUTBALLS says:

I cosign on all of this, p’enny.

Did you see someone tweet that Night Manager is wrapping up next week? Maybe we’ll see some promo Hiddles and get some chatty Tom interviews?

He’s looking fine as Pine. Better than that poster above.

      • P'enny says:

seriously, due to wrap next week? oooh and only one tweet from the BBC after all their boasting about tweeting from the set of Night Manager. Me thinks, AMC have locked down the selfies. grrr.

    • TotallyBiased says:

Yup, I think Jonathan Pine checks his James Bond box just fine. Did you see in all the hacked Sony email the string involving lists of possibles for the Sacha Baron Cohen ‘MI-6 meets Footy Hooligans’ comedy? Mark Strong eventually took the part, but at one point someone was lunching/meeting/whatever with Tom, and the impression they took back to Sony was that he wants to ‘have that sort of role for real before parodying it.’ Bet he was already in negotiations for TNM at the time!

      • NUTBALLS says:

I would be interested in Tom as “Parody Bond”, a la Maxwell Smart. After all the depressing parts he’s taken this year, a comedy would be a welcome change.

      • Joann says:

I know the movies are a British institution but I just don’t see what all the fuss is about. Plus, Tom already has one franchise and possibly another one with Skull Island.

      • Waitwhat says:

Which is why I’d love to see him in a Kingsman sequel.

    • Maria A. says:

Yeah, they kind of tamed him down in that movie poster. No fire. No wit curling his lips. Kind of tame. He’ll be much more diverting in the film though.

    • icerose says:

no to Bond he tends to take over the actor and there is little room for character developmental.developmental. I also think the Night Manager is the more interesting character

  5. GingerCrunch says:

Not as hot as a snippet of the trailer. Noms! Tommy knows how to market himself, and I’m sure he’ll be in all his glory to promote this. Which I can’t wait for.

    • tigerlily says:

me too. Not too enthralled by this poster of him but any Hiddles news is good news. I’ll definitely be seeing the movie though I really don’t like scary stuff. I sleep with the light on if hubby isn’t home.

  6. Lindy79 says:

Are they doing a Comic Con panel in San Diego? I believe Guillermo is there for The Strain

    • p'enny says:

he better turn up at Comic Con – he apologised for not making it last year. Although this years comic con will be nothing but Star Wars and deservedly and rightly so, I so hope a good Tom vid ends up on You Tube and he does some videos and has funny things to say.

I feel so let down about Ben Wheatley’s film not released in June as strongly hinted at last year, and no Cannes appearances. Loki was cut from AoUltron And, he has been so quiet working that the only sniff we have had are some pap photos and they are not being pushed out to the main papers.

The Jaguar advert did nothing for me. Letters Live vid has not been released yet.

      All so disappointing.

It’s all going to come at once… I am not going to be able to juggle a full time job and three movies during the Autumn. It’s all too much Tom. I want to space it out.

      • icerose says:

yes I was hoping for a full version of his letters contribution especially as it got so much praise.

      • TotallyBiased says:

icerose –me, too! I’m still waiting for the more complete video I rather thought we were all promised from the Letters Live camp. Perhaps they are waiting for the latest round of shows to be over? Or perhaps involvement in the process is needed from the Busy Mr. ‘Batch, and they just haven’t been able to get in the timing worked out.

    • Lilacflowers says:

GDT promised last year he would bring Tom to SDCC this year. With Crimson Peak and Skull Island, he’ll probably be a substantial part of Legendary’s panel

      • p'enny says:

they may wait till 2016 for Skull Island, and then they can roll Tom out with Thor 3 . there may be a arm pulling contest between Universal and Marvel. Which is quite ironic now with the success Chris Pratt is having with Jurrisac Park. Skull Island is funded by Universal and Legendary. If there are rumoured monster cross overs I can see Marvel going oi! Chris and Tom… mmmm

      • Lilacflowers says:

Marvel released a wonderful and hilarious acknowledgment of Jurassic World breaking it opening box office records featuring the Avengers bowing to Pratt on a dinosaur. There contracts have non-compete clauses for superhero movies but not monster movies

      • p'enny says:

Actually, I think its good for Marvel that Pratt is a big thing for middle-America it helps to loosen the chains off RDJ. And, I hope Marvel now realise that new blood and new characters wins eg., GOTG.

I mean Cap 3 has got all the Avengers in, except Thor, seriously yawn.
eight films? all the same characters.

Time for Strange, Antman, Cap Marvel etc. Got to let the old ones go or the audience will just wait for the DVD release.

but, hit me with Loki one more time.

      • NUTBALLS says:

“hit me with Loki one more time.”

Once more, that’s all I want. I would love to see Thor 3 be it for him, but could be agreeable to a Dr Strange / Loki story line if they don’t kill him off.

No, no, no to Bond. I could see him as a villain though.

      • Lilacflowers says:

I think he has two more films on his Marvel contract so probably Ragnorak and the second Avengers Infinity Wars movie. I don’t want Loki anywhere near Dr Strange. Although the rumored supporting cast sounds great, at some point, Marvel will miscast a lead and that one seems iffy.

      • TotallyBiased says:

Lilacflowers, I am totally with you on that one. My first thought was “Loki and Dr. Strange, could be cool.” Then I realized the internet would NEVER get past ‘Oooo, SherLocki’d!’ if that happened. Er, plus your last sentence has ALSO occurred to me.

      • NUTBALLS says:

Well, I don’t think they need Loki in Dr Strange if they’ve got SWINTON and Ejiofor, that’s for sure. Just knowing they’re in the cast makes me interested in seeing it. I don’t know enough about Strange to have an opinion on Bendy having the part, so I’ll reserve judgement for now.

      • P'enny says:

the problem Marvel has with Loki, and it is a big one, he is loved and all baddies in Marvel have to lose and Loki needs to win, and truly win, by killing off all the Marvel heroes so we can all live happily ever after in Asgardian dream land. We are his Josephines to his Napoleon. Oh well…

      • Lilacflowers says:

Except he’s a lot taller than Napoleon.

  7. bettyrose says:

    * head explodes *

  8. browniecakes says:

Why do we have to replace Daniel Craig? Tom looks pretty hot in The Night Manager. Not hot in I Saw The Light. Not so hot here in Crimson Peak, even with the subliminal Loki addition. Regarding CP, Del Toro told Empire Magazine, “Tom is not a tormented hero, he is an antihero. He does absolutely despicable things”.

    • p'enny says:

Not hot!!! mmmm we shall see, if there is chemistry between Tom and Liz then it may well be really hot. A lot of screaming and make-up s@# in the film.

      • NUTBALLS says:

And fist fights… we know Audrey could give as well as she got from Hank.

I’m expecting some good chemistry between Tom and Lizzy, whether rumors about them are true or not.

      • P'enny says:

well we know Tom gets punched by the women in his films, esp, off set, i expect a pic of Elizabeth Olsen socking Tom. :-p

      • InvaderTak says:

Can’t wait for that one either!

I kinda want the rumors about them to be true. She seems pretty sweet if a bit dim. They could be cute.

    • Ankhel says:

I think the latest Bond movies have worked despite Craig, not because of him. He looks good and has that unreadable face, but none of the twinkle and devious charm of Connery or even Brosnan. As Bond, he’s surly and meh.

      • tigerlily says:

I find Daniel Craig unattractive. I don’t even find him handsome in a “craggy” way, I just find him unfortunate looking and can’t get past those ears.

    • TotallyBiased says:

Not hot in IStL??? Well, a bit too skinny, yes. But elsewise I’m going to have to disagree–he looked INCREDIBLE in that illicitly released stage shot w/the white ice cream suit!

      • NUTBALLS says:

TB, I answered you on the Gwennie thread… looking for links!

      • TotallyBiased says:

Hey, Nutballs!! To reiterate from my Gwennie thread post:
Did you mean MySpace screencaps, IStL stage pic, or both? You will have to search for the screencaps, they are def out there but get harder every year to find.
Here is a link (if it will post) to a lower rez copy of the ice cream suit–his face isn’t as pretty in it as it looks in the first version I got, but I can’t find that one linked anywhere:
710keel.com/smuggled-photo-of-tom-hiddleston-as-hank-williams/ So enjoy! (It is a Shreveport radio station, hardly under the radar, so I doubt Bron Studios was terribly upset at the ‘smuggled’ pic 🙂 )
        (Also–HIS JAWLINE! HIS HANDS!!)
There’s some nice shots of him in the suit on Pinterest, but I don’t have an account so it doesn’t like behaving for me.

      • TotallyBiased says:

Oh, and while I was looking for that, I noticed new comments on an old article about Hank III dissing the casting–one by someone who worked on the film! A good read, the comments are largely a reasonable discussion.
        http://www.savingcountrymusic.com/first-images-of-hiddleston-as-hank-williams-from-i-saw-the-light-faron-young-and-jerry-rivers-cast

      • NUTBALLS says:

TB, tried to respond here and had the other thread up. Screencaps. I’m too lazy to try and find them. I prefer them handed to me on a silver platter. 🙂

      • Dara says:

@Nutty, is this what you are looking for? http://teatime-with-sabrina-and-violet.tumblr.com/post/120051050346/this-is-why-fassy-should-never-use-social-media

I’ve never seen the entire exchange in all its glory, but conventional wisdom has it he was conversing with Glorious Gwen on MySpace. My question is this – if Hiddles watched his friend do this particular thing, what pray tell did the friend witness HIM do? Enquiring minds, etc. etc.

      • NUTBALLS says:

Dara, I’ve seen that one. I think his eternal love of bananas started there. It’s the rest of the Tom-Gwen screencaps I’ve never seen in all their glory. Only hearsay… so I’m left to my imagination, which goes down a pretty kinky path, yada yada yada.

  9. seesittellsit says:

I’m curious as to why no one has considered Aidan Turner for the next Bond. God knows he’s young enough (only 31 I think), really hot (taller than Craig). After all, not that many people knew who Craig was before he got Bond – and Turner is just off a huge success in Poldark – the BBC said he could name his price for returning for Season Two and other projects and they’d work around his film schedule, to boot. He’s a very decent actor if you’ve seen Hattie, Desperate Romantics, and Being Human. Hiddles would make a most elegant Bond, but somehow – I’d rather see him do other things; I’d love to get some new names in the running, starting with Turner.

    • Lilacflowers says:

I’ve seen Aidan Turner’s name being bandied about for Bond. Sam Claflin too

      • Tig says:

Man, on a thread yesterday I brought up Matthew Freid(sp?) or the young man from HP who’s playing the meathead BF in Me Before You- but Aiden? He’s sex on a stick, but the hair has a lot to do with his appeal- can’t see him all slick backed hair and buttoned down. Can’t wait for Poldark next weekend on PBS!

      • Absolutely says:

He’s still insanely sexy with short hair. He is just…ugh…sex on a stick…or a tree trunk…well, you get the idea.

      • icerose says:

I think Aiden Turner is to young for Bond at this point in time-they would haveto cradle snatch for Bond Girls

    • seesittellsit says:

@Tig – oh I think it’s more than Turner’s hair, at least more than the hair on his head – have you seen his chest fur?! OMG – it is perfection: not too much, not too little . . . – and those lonnggg lips and dark eyes . . . . there’s a photo of him from Desperate Romantics naked on a bed with artfully draped bedcovers . . .

I will also be glued to Poldark this coming weekend – but alas, only to the TV image NOT to the actual man . . .

  10. kennedy says:

Hunnam himself said he’s not in the film that much but his role is significant. I am so glad he is a muse to Del Toro. He has also worked with Cuaron. Next up, is Lubezki!

Either way, he is smokin’ hot and a talented guy.

  11. Leah says:

I’m glad to see that Charlie has been sorted into Hufflepuff and my sweetheart Tom is in Slytherin.

My 14 year old son calls Tom’s character Steampunk Loki!

  12. Sunny says:

    Any Tom is good Tom.

I miss his song of the day Tweets. iTunes made a bundle off those (from me).

    • seesittellsit says:

I suspect Hiddles doesn’t want to end up the way Cumbers did, pushing 40 best known for being Dorkybatch the Internet Boyfriend while just not getting the traction he’d like in films – pulling away from social media and working really hard to release a tidal wave of varied stuff showing off his range and bringing him a lot of film attention is a shrewd move on Hiddles’ part, I think.

      • Absolutely says:

        He’s no dummy.

      • Waitwhat says:

Absolutely not a dummy at all. In it for the long term, and eventually working over to directing/writing/producing, I would imagine. I think he’s got quite a bit of business savvy, too. Part of his mental genetic inheritance on both sides. Plus Branagh’s his mentor.

  13. Lucretia says:

Sketchy background choice for Charlie — fingers of light? crown?

Chiwetel Ejiofor for Bond — please! I just cannot go there with Damian Lewis — he will always be Soames Forsyte to me.

    • Abby_J says:

Chiwetel Ejiofor would be good, but I want Idris Elba for pretty much EVERYTHING.

  14. oneshot says:

    HIDDLES!

I’ve gone so long without a sighting that I freely admit my thirst…… and even with that Slytherin filter and Loki-hair, I totally would.

(come to think of it, Tom would make a highly age-appropriate Snape, if WB was ever delusional enough to start rebooting the Harry Potter movies right now. Rickman is great of course, but Snape in the books was only in his early 30s at the start of the action…..they aged all the Marauder generation way too much, when the books pegged them at 21-22 when Harry’s parents died.)

  15. lizzie says:

the ad that popped up on the charlie picture said “does your carpet need deep cleaning?” why yes -after this movie it certainly will! talk about effective target marketing…

    • p'enny says:

lol mine is get SKY superfibre broadband for half-price for six months. I guess they know I will be watching a lot of Tom stuff on You tube shortly.

  16. sofaandapotato says:

I love Charlie Hunnam and I’m not into blonds at all. I thought he was great as Jax but didn’t like the Jax character as the series progressed. The character evolved into such a douche which I guess was the whole point of the show. But Charlie? He’s so scrumptious. I hope this movie does well and helps him move to the next level!

    • Damn says:

He is the best of the bunch of all these 30 + actors, he isn’t annoying with his comments or personal life, only shows up in the public for work and is nice to look at.
He is a great actor but the need to slam him because he isn’t acting as pretentious as that Cumberbitch or Gyllenhall is ridiculous.

  17. InvaderTak says:

I want this movie in my life so bad but these posters are doing nothing for me. Too ‘shopped, too clique.

  18. Izzy says:

This movie looks AMAZING, I cannot wait to see it!

  19. Sixer says:

He’d be a perfect but so-perfect-it’s-boring Bond. No to Puddletom for Bond.

I hope he’s realised that online fandoms are more trouble than they’re worth and is going to forget all that crapola from now on. I do hope so. I might find him less toothgrind-y then. Upcoming promotions will tell us, I expect. No more dancing bears, Tommy!

    • Lilacflowers says:

He could be quite a devious Bond villain but yes, too much for Bond. The Marvel promotions tend to bring out the dancing bear. He’s a lot less manic on the more serious material. He’ll also be working pretty much through the end of the year so probably just the standard level of PR for upcoming projects, which should be enough

    • j.eyre says:

Hiddlestoners may want him for Bond but we Dragonflies scoff at such a notion.

What sets a Dragonfly apart from a Hiddlestoner is illusory superiority and a sense of humor.

      • NUTBALLS says:

So true, Miss Jane. So true.

I’m ready to for him to open his piehole and start blathering about something… anything. Since he doesn’t give much depth about himself, I’ll be enjoying the comments here more. I know Sixer will have some good snark and I’m counting on you for the bawdy humor.

      • Lilacflowers says:

And he loves us more than them because we make him laugh. Plus, we’re fabulous and have Cheex-it’s.

      • Sixer says:

So true, Miss Jane, so true. Nutballs, if he goes dancing bear, I’ll give you as much snark as you want!

      • NUTBALLS says:

Sixer, I know you won’t let me down.

As TNM wraps up and I wait expectantly for Tom to go full promo the next few months, I shall pray to the CB gods that Fanty, Eve, EsCon, Miss M and the rest of the gals will come back here to play and give us some laughs. After the year of the OtterComet, I’m feeling rather desperate for some Thornfield humor.

      • Miss Jupitero says:

I am really really hoping we have seen the end of the Dancing Bear Hiddles. I’m hoping that was a Marvel thing all along. All this hard work and dignified silence suits him well, and I have even come to forgive him a bit for all the famewhoring.

As for Bond, no, no. Not enough roughness to him. I can’t even see him as a villain. The Jaguar commercial sealed his fate as being in the no column. I’m fine with that.

Nutballs, I will do my very best to join in. I too am looking forward to better stuff to read about that the latest Duggar explosion, etc.

      • NUTBALLS says:

Miss J, I didn’t mention you specifically since you’re still active on these posts. I hope your change of heart in response to his mellowing out will be what brings back the others as well. 🙂

I am soooo curious if he goes about promos differently this year with so much coming out. It does seem that things have changed with him the past year or so. I guess we’ll see very soon…

      • Dara says:

@J.Eyre darling – I don’t consider the superiority of the Dragonflies illusory in the least. I do not – and never will – consider myself a ‘Hiddlestoner’, but I gladly pledge my eternal allegiance to the dragonfly brigade, long may we snark, quip, and poke fun. As long as everyone remembers to bring their sense of humor, the more the merrier as far as I’m concerned.

As for the glorious dancing bear schtick – it is fun in very small doses. I have a very low tolerance for it so there are a few things I’ve actively avoided watching just for the potential cringe factor alone. The eventual promo work for Kong may trend that way but I think CP, High Rise (if the bloody thing ever gets released) and especially ISTL will call for a little more decorum – she says hopefully.

      • Absolutely says:

Onward, dragonflies! Hope I can still be part of the group, even though I had to alter the moniker…. I bring alcohol. Lots and lots of alcohol.

      • Lilacflowers says:

@Absolutely, oh darling, no need to bring your own to a Dragonfly thread! My butler Colin Firth will serve whatever alcoholic concoction you desire.

      • NUTBALLS says:

        *whispers*

Absolutely, ask Colin to make you a Pervy Tombanger or a Fizzy Hiddles. Those are the ones he keeps ready on these threads. If you leave them to one of us, the recipe gets distorted a wee bit.

        *burp*

      • Absolutely says:

Mr. Firth knows what I like. 🙂

      • jammypants says:

I think his quietness gives him an air of mystery. An air of sexy mystery. Plus it makes you more curious about him 🙂

    • icerose says:

His PR will be film appropriate -it always has been-very serious at Cannes with a little dance with Tilda on the red carpet after OLLA was shown. Shakespeare knowledgeable for the Hollow Crown and dancing bear for Marvel.Would not have it any other way -at least it it is not boring

      • Anne tommy says:

Dancing bears aren’t happy. They are made to “dance” by being treated very cruelly. I prefer to think of “OTT Tommy” or “HyperHiddles” rather than bringing dancing bears into it. Not that keen on the poster, the latest Jag ads are camp but fun. I self-identify as a dragonfly.

  20. Lilacflowers says:

Isn’t Jaguar a Wimbledon sponsor? Can we expect a Tom sighting this year?

    • p'enny says:

I wondered that too, I bet Tom is in the Jaguar corporate box. However, he’s still filming but London is only a quick flight away, so fingers crossed, I expect a weekend showing of Tom. I expect him to be in the Royal box!!! last year Eddie R, Chris Hemsworth, the Beckhams were all the Royal Box. Time for Tom to come out of hiding and dance once more… well at least a small bum wiggle in a nice suit.

      • Lilacflowers says:

Shouldn’t filming be wrapping soon? He’s pretty much the face of Jaguar now so the corporate box on a weekend for a later match would make sense.

      • NUTBALLS says:

Someone on Twitter said they’ll be filming until next week sometime.

      • Dara says:

Wimbledon Tom is my next favorite after Tuxedo Tom, but I’m not holding out much hope. @nutty, I think I saw the same tweet you did about TNM, but I also think that person was guessing and the actual wrap date is last week of June/early July.

SDCC is the same weekend as Wimbledon finals but I suppose he could catch a mid-week round (quarter or semi) then jet off to Cali.

About the only thing I know for sure is that the guy in Hawaii that tweeted about Skull Island filming in May doesn’t know jack.

      • NUTBALLS says:

Well, Bob did tweet that may be pushed off to August, which I find much more believable. He may know jack, but he knows more than me!

Is it too much to hope for JARTHY to make a triumphant return at Wimbledon as Tom’s date? I wanna see the Hiddlestoners lose their collective sh*t. We need some excitement around here…

      • Josa says:

Agreed with Dara that that Bob guy didn’t know jack. Tom himself mentioned his schedule at Nuffield in Feb. said he will be filming Skull Island summer to autumn. In Feb, Tom should already know that he will be filming The Night Manager until end of June or early July. The guy who claimed to know tweeted in March saying Skull Island starts in Hawaii in May, May is not summer. I think he’s totally BSing and pretends he is in the knows. Bob then tweeted in May and said it is pushed off to August. But it’s not really, it was scheduled to begin in August all along. Tom should know his own schedule better than some random guy.

      • Lilacflowers says:

@Nutballs, we could use some excitement but I’ve always found the vitriol hurled at that woman disturbing, not exciting

      • waitwhat says:

One of the production crew said on Instagram right at the beginning of June they were there for 5 weeks, which takes them to around July 3rd. He could pop back for some Wimbledon courtesy of Jaguar, then off to San Diego for July 10th.

      • NUTBALLS says:

That is one long film shoot…nearly 4 months.

Lilac, the vitriol didn’t seem bad here from what I remember reading. There was some side-eye about her twitter behavior, but I don’t remember it being anything on par with the Comet. I generally remember the funny comments however.

      • Lilacflowers says:

@nutballs, and I side-eyed the side-eying of the Twitter behavior. Nobody forces anyone to follow somebody’s twitter account, never mind conduct deep analysis of who a person follows or favorites. And it was on par with the Comet with a lot of strange psycho-analysis and parsing of quotes from interviews and expectations that people are supposed to follow some bizarre rule book, written by 13 year old girls, for behavior when it comes to relationships; it just didn’t last as long because neither one of them ever said anything and there have been no additional media sightings.

      • NUTBALLS says:

I guess I only remember the Thornfield ladies and the other less-invested-in-his-love-life posters. It was odd how some were aware when either of them followed and unfollowed a twitter account. That’s a bit too stalker-y.

Besides, there’s enough normals here that we can counteract the Negative Nellie’s with wit and whimsy, amirite? I mean, even the Otter threads have gotten better with the end of the Oscar season and BabyBatching. The hate-posts are in the minority now.

  21. Josa says:

He was a dancing bear when he was promoting Thor, Loki the god of mischief and his purpose in the movie is to have FUN. He is not dancing bear all the way all the time, especially when he’s busy making other movies, like the past 1.5 years after finishing his Thor 2 promo tour duty. Don’t worry, he still have fun on the set. Olivia Colman mimics Tom’s impersonation of Susanne Bier on a radio show. I’m sure the cast of The Night Manager have lots of fun while shooting it, in Morocco and Mallorca, when they sit around the poolside or when they walk along the beaches.

  22. koko says:

That poster is very “Loki” like. The character hopefully not so much. I doubt the “dancing bear” Tom will make a return, even for Thor 3. It really only takes a moment to Tweet, it doesn’t require a block of time. I think he simply just doesn’t need that media anymore on a daily basis, he’s moved on. Even the busiest people will find time to Tweet if they want to, so using his schedule as an excuse is ridiculous. Finally, NO. NO. NO. to James Bond.

  23. Dara says:

What is with the almost surreal movie poster trend lately? They did the same thing for the characters in Ultron, and went too far IMO, to the point where some of the posters looked nothing like the actors. I don’t get it.

  24. delorb says:

Its horror, so that’s a pass for me. Don’t know anything about the other guy other than he was up for 50 Shades. Guess I’ll have to wait for something else he’s in to pop that cherry. As for Tom, I’m not liking the poster. Not a fan of the severe hair. I really like Hank Williams, from his music to documentaries on his life, (what can I say, I’m in Texas), so that’s the Tom film that I’ll see this year. Fingers crossed that he does Hank justice.

    • TotallyBiased says:

delorb–scroll up and check out the links I left for Nutballs. There’s a couple of new comments on the saving country music discussion (originally re Hank III’s diss of Tom’s casting) and one of them is from someone who worked on the movie. The whole comment thread is interesting, actually, if you haven’t read it before.

    • Lilacflowers says:

Well, that’s a change from months ago when you were firmly in the Hank III camp.

      • delorb says:

        @Lilac,

I was NEVER in the III’s camp or anyone elses for that matter. I said that I was worried about what side JUNIOR would come down on, seeing as how Nashville would probably follow HIS lead. HIS comments carry more weight than III.

The comments I made about the III was for you guys to stop replying to all his crap. He said something about Tom and you guys would respond. Perhaps that is what he wanted? Jeez.

        @Totallybiased,

        Thanks, but nah.

      • TotallyBiased says:

eh, whatever. I always enjoy reading spirited yet reasoned debate between people who know more about a subject than I do. But to each their own.

As for Hank Jr, since he (as one of the primary rights-controllers) would have had to sign off on this project fairly early on, it seems rather unlikely he would go against his own self-interest and come down against any element of it.

      • Lilacflowers says:

@TB, Hank Jr. and his sister signed off very early on for this project. That’s why they have the song rights.

@Delorb, the archives are still available here.

      • TotallyBiased says:

Probably should have clarified that the link I posted was to one of several articles over at savingcountrymusic.com, not a thread here on CB. One more recent commenter had worked on IStL, and posted a good paragraph on Tom’s work and sound during the movie.

      • Lilacflowers says:

I was referring to the CB archives for the radical change in Delorb’s position. I did find your link interesting, TB

      • jammypants says:

I don’t think delorb was ever in Hank III’s camp. She simply pointed out that Tommy has to watch out for the country fans. Let’s be real, they can be very judgy haha

      • Lilacflowers says:

I think it was more of her “Tom can’t do anything” mantra.

      • jammypants says:

haha yea she’s not exactly “Team Tom” but she’s going to give his work a try so I say fair game really

  25. Ava says:

As far as the poster I really don’t care. It’s a poster, however I would have used red. Maybe the green is supposed to make Tom look good or bad? Charlie gets this light blue glow.lol The movie looks amazing and Tom looks hot in it. Can’t wait for it to come out. I don’t think he will do Bond. I do disagree with the “he would be dorky for bond” comment by Kaiser (sorry)I think is real life he is adorably dorky. I mean that in a good way. On film he can really play a bad@ss. I saw Coriolanus and he is awesome in physical/fighting and a lot more physically strong in person. I have a feeling the Night Manager is going to be awesome. As far as him not being on twitter. I went on twitter just for the fun of it last night. Has anyone seen how crazy some of the twitter accounts are? Tomswife twitter, lokiwife (I’m making these up) you get the general idea. If I were Tom I would avoid all social media. Its scary….

  26. TotallyBiased says:

YAHOO! Charlize Theron is AVAILABLE! So–from the Gwendoline Christie school of Tom needs a tall, strong, (blonde) woman, who’s with me that he and CT should hook up? Or at least make a movie together.

    • InvaderTak says:

I vote no to that one. She just seems so cold.

      • Madly says:

She is super cold and a well-known bitch. I would want him with a kind woman who has inner strength and is vocal about her needs (if we are playing matchmaker here.) but can we not pair him with an actress. Charlize is also slow witted despite her interviews of late. She has a long history of saying stupid things like getting her photo taken by paps feels like rape.

    • Lilacflowers says:

She would hurt him. In lots of ways. It wouldn’t be good. Although they would look stunning together.

    • NUTBALLS says:

Agree they’d look good together, however I’d vote Lizzy over Charlize. Just the fact that CT wanted to be with that wife beater is enough to tell me she’s not hooked up right. Tom doesn’t need a mess like that in his life. #justcallmeTommyMommy

    • TotallyBiased says:

I often suspect he is tougher than we give him credit for, I *also* suspect he is attracted to that type of strong woman. NOTE: I DON’T KNOW THE GUY PERSONALLY SO THIS IS AAALL WILD-A**ED SUPPOSITION ON MY PART.

So, anyway–I think he would be VERY good for her. Either his inner “tall, happy puppy” would warm her up, or they might even temper each other’s evident extremes. Sometimes what others view as stern (in CT) I see as incredible internal calm. As noted above, this is all just wild speculation on my part–but it’s fun!

  27. Cam says:

I’m not a great fan of Charlie’s acting but I can’t wait to see this. Bring on the popcorn.

  28. Abby_J says:

Maybe our Dragonfly king is way too loved up with Elizabeth Olsen to make too many public appearances? 🙂

Yes, I know he is filming.

    • Dara says:

@Abby – bravo! It’s time to liven things up – it’s no fun to gossip when there’s nothing to gossip about. I am irrationally hoping for a candid shot of the Tom-ster arm and arm with a bikini-clad babe. Shoot, at this point I’d even settle for him and Hugh Laurie strolling barefoot on a beach together – PDA optional.

      • Abby_J says:

Oh I will second that Tommy/Hugh Laurie stroll, and demand the PDA. 🙂

Thank you Dara. Now I am off to start a Hiddles/Laurie Tumblr site so that I can post my smutty fan fiction. 🙂

Seriously, though. If it isn’t Miss. Olsen, I do hope our beloved Dragonfly King is happily busy with SOMEONE.

    • NUTBALLS says:

I see what you did there, Abby, you fan-baiter you.

  29. Joann says:

The stuff people tweet to him sometimes is this side of unhinged so I get why the bloom is off the rose for him.

    • NUTBALLS says:

The twitter and instagram posts are downright frightening, especially when the account holder has a picture that indicates they’re well over the age of 30. I wish we still had Torilla as that was the only blog on Tumblr that didn’t give me the creeps.

    • Dara says:

@Joann, unhinged is definitely a word for it. I do wonder what the final straw actually was – I don’t think the wacky and tone-deaf tweets from fans explain the entire disengagement, nor do I think workload is a valid reason – as @koko pointed out above, all celebs experience both those things and most still tweet with more frequency, or have their team do it for them.

Letting Twitter and even Facebook go this quiet for this long can’t be by accident can it? Maybe Team Tom figures radio-silence will encourage the very fervent-but-fickle fans to move on to their next obsession and the Life After Loki portion of his career can get a fresh start. Who knows.

  30. Ari says:

I DID NOT KNOW CHARLIE WAS IN THIS MOVIE and now its going to be the reason I see it lol
