In April we heard that E! News host Giuliana Rancic was moving to Chicago, her husband Bill’s hometown, at the end of this summer. This seemed like a positive step for her sanity and health after controversy over scripted statements she made on Fashion Police, a public feud with Kelly Osbourne, and ongoing criticism of her tiny frame. I said at the time that this probably meant that Giuliana’s role on E! News was being phased out and we now have confirmation of that. E! has announced that Giuliana will leave E! News in August. She will be back on Fashion Police around that time, which is getting a reboot with Melissa Rivers at the helm. We’ll also continue to see Giuliana cover the red carpet. Here’s E!’s statement:
The Fashion Police host is stepping down as the host of E! News on Aug. 10, the network confirmed in a press release. She will remain a co-host of Fashion Police and Live from the Red Carpet.
“For more than a decade, I was fortunate enough to play a role in the success of E! News and will miss my family at the show,” Rancic said in a statement. “At the same time, I am excited to not only continue as host of two major franchises on E! but also executive produce the aspirational new show Rich in Faith for Oxygen as well as take my wine and clothing lines to the next level. This is such a thrilling time for me and I thank the gang at E! for understanding my desire to embark on this next chapter in my life.”
Some of you will disagree, but I enjoy seeing Giuliana’s red carpet and awards show coverage. She loves fashion, she kisses celebrity butt and she genuinely seems like she’s having a good time. Giuliana knows how to focus on the frivolous and she’s not apologetic about it. It’s reassuring that E! will continue to let her do this and I hope this means that they have cut Kelly Osbourne out of the live events. (I’m assuming so, since Kelly quit Fashion Police. Ross Matthews and Kristin Dos Santos can stay, they’re both excellent.)
As for Fashion Police, I have very low expectations. Melissa Rivers is probably the only person capable of continuing the show the way her mother intended. Now that Joan has passed, Fashion Police should move on and change focus, though. I agree with Kathy Griffin that it seems out of touch. It’s doubtful that the show will change much under Melissa, and Giuliana will play along as she always has. Fashion Police returns in August.

I think they renovated a place in the city- probably Gold Coast or Old Town. You know they would only live in the vapid part of town.

She is so thin she looks like a praying mantis. And no, I’m not body-shaming, I’m legitimately concerned that she has an eating disorder and influences countless young women into thinking thin = cool and publicly embarrassing people for their fashion choices = fun. I agree with JRenee above – Fashion Police needs to be pulled.
She is also Italian. European/ South American and Asian women are not as tall, big boned and overweight as the average american woman. Not even close.
I honestly wish she got help rather than be promoted. I am not body-shaming, but her look is very bad for young women. No one should aspire to look like her and it bothers me that some do since she is in the public eye.
I am not a huge fan of her but I do hope that this is not health related in a cancer return.. This woman has had a huge struggle and I believe her weight and treatments have had a lot to do with that. She has said it I believe it is part of her issues plus she is naturally thin.
Remember they also had another surrogate who lost there baby for baby number two..I think it’s a good move for her to go back to Chicago and get herself settled again as in her case stress can do many things to an person already having medical issues..I think we need to be very careful what we’re talking about here.
She was extremely thin before the cancer. In fact, unlike most cases I’ve seen, she’s about the same weight or thinner than when she had cancer.
She’s using the preventative medications as an excuse to disguise her eating disorder, which pre-dates the cancer concern. No reputable doctor would put her on a treatment regimen that kept her so dangerously underweight. There are other options. Her undereating is more of a hazard to her health at the moment. I don’t know why they keep her in the spotlight, she looks so unhealthy. They should tell her to go to a treatment facility and learn how to eat and how to want to eat. She has always been naturally thin, but she used to look healthy before she started overexercising and undereating. All this is self-induced.

She’s doing probably irreversible damage to her vital organs with her refusal to eat enough to match her activity. She’s been doing it for years. Anorexia will kill you faster than obesity.

I dislike her, despite my feeling bad about all the cancer she survived. I also think Melissa can never be as fearless as her mother, because no one is going to put up with her opinion. I desperately want Fashion Police to continue, but not with this cast of characters. I think we need, like, Rupaul or something… IDK.
I wonder too if this is about her marriage. She was doing a think on that Scott and Kourtney cheating or break up.. and she go very upset.. went all after the other woman saying how she knew he was married with a family and you just don’t do that.. she was very over the top; and I thought at the time that something was up with her and her husband. She talked about him wanting her to move to Chicago and she kept putting it off.. so maybe this is the final straw and he was more forceful.
