Princess Charlene shows off her costume-clad babies at Monaco picnic: so cute?

Prince Albert and Princess Charlene’s babies are incredibly cute, right? Like, I’m not even a baby person and I think Jacques and Gabriella are ADORABLE. Such chubby cheeks, such serious expressions. And I love that Gabriella flat-out refused to leave the palace without her pink binkie. Gabby thought to herself, “Non, je n’en ferai rien” (I totally used Google Translate for that). God only knows what kind of fuss there was about leaving the palace without BABY SHOES. Actually, a lot of babies don’t like shoes, right? Maybe there was no fuss.

Anyway, these are photos of Albert, Charlene and the babies for the annual Pique Nique Monegasque, basically Monaco’s national picnic. I don’t really remember this being a thing before right now, so perhaps Albert and Charlene just wanted to take the babies on a picnic and suddenly it became a national holiday? Probably not, but it’s funny to think of it that way. The babies’ outfits are described as “traditional garb” and “baby-sized versions of Monégasque costumes.”

Charlene recently spoke to Paris Match about the babies’ personalities, that Jacques is “a real boss” like his dad while Gabriella has developed a “real little princess attitude…I can tell you that pink is her favorite color and that ‘no’ is an answer she doesn’t like!”

Charlene looks pretty with her hair this length, right? It softens her a bit. Plus, the red lipstick is a nice addition. The shoes are pretty hideous though.

They are going to be some gorgeous kids. I find she always looks so sad in the eyes for some reason.

    • SamiHami says:

I’ve always thought that as well. But since having the babies she has seemed much happier to me.

    • ImFlying says:

I could give you some hints as to why, but it would ruin your day and more. The babies are cute, but everyone needs to stop thinking that ‘royals’ are people to coo after or respect. They are bloodlines of Luciferians. It’s not a secret.

      • Hanni says:

I’ll bite. What is a Luciferian? Is that like a Rastafarian?

      • ImFlying says:

@Hanni – you are cute. I never thought of it like that, but I guess kinda. I had to google Rastafarian to be accurate, and it is said that Bob Marley was into the occult, so it is sort of the same. Luciferians worship Lucifer. And not in the just throwing up the goat horns hand sign with their tongue sticking out kind of way. It is not for the faint of heart and I hesitate to include any more key words or links on this site. People like to be entertained with simple gossip on a site like this. You can start peering down the rabbit hole as easy as on youtube, using key words such as royals, satan, etc. Might I suggest though, you may want to pray to LJC to protect your heart first.

      • Brittney B. says:

Uhhhh… most Luciferians don’t worship anyone at all, they just look to Lucifer — the fallen angel, not the westernized Halloween version — as an example of duality and morality. It’s not even a religion per se; it’s an approach to mythology and history that totally resists all the “not for the faint of heart” stereotypes about the occult.

There are many, many different interpretations of this belief system, and maybe some of them involve cultlike thinking, but you can say that about any belief system. The royal conspiracy theories are akin to the Beyonce Illuminati connection, and I’m frankly scratching my head seeing a comment like this on CB. Modern-day Lucifierians work to conserve the environment and preserve artistic and scientific institutions. This commenter seems to be stuck in the 1200’s, when Christians executed people for not believing blindly in a single holy god … or maybe you’re confusing the entirety of the movement’s history with one or two neo-Luciferian sects founded during the past few decades, by misguided Americans who incorporate voodoo into it?

        What the what…

      • Colleen says:

@ImFlying: I totally read “peering down the rabbit hole” as “peeing down the rabbit hole” and sat here scratching my head for a quick minute.

Is Luciferianism the same as Satanism? I honestly don’t know. If so, aren’t the tenets of Satanism based on the premise of looking to one’s self first and foremost? Either way, Brittney B has a very good point about the interpretations. Also, explain to me how being in the “bloodlines” of someone who believes a certain way dictates everything they do. I don’t know these people, nor do I care much about their politics but the whole bloodlines judgment seems silly to me.

      • ImFlying says:

Wow, I had no idea there was so many factions. Like Methodist to Baptist? Or is it more like Hindu, where you have different gods. Lucifer is the fallen angel, which also goes by Satan. Then there is Moloch, Baphomet, and probably 100 others, but they are all demonic. And the Royals are part of the elite bloodlines that are also involved in sacrificing and other horrible things. If you notice the symbols on their robes (Malta, etc), Freemasonry, ancient Egyptian, family crests, etc. you would realize what they are into at the top levels. I don’t even want to think about it anymore, it is beyond depressing.

  2. Matador says:

Cute kids. Hopefully they have brought Charlene happiness.

    • evermore says:

I never believed the press hype that she was supposedly sad, she dated Albert 8 yrs , lived with him for 3yrs ,wanted to marry him and there are plenty of photos of her smiling on her wedding day and after.

My friend just spent the summer in Monaco and saw the couple out several times and said Albert and Charlene are very affectionate with each other and they adore each other.

    • Gea says:

Kids are adorable and she looks very happy. Happy for her.

    • sherry says:

I agree. I think she looks beautiful and relaxed. The only negative thing I have to say is those shoes are hideous! Other than that, gorgeous, relaxed and happy!

  3. Ewissa says:

Awwww love the photos -minus Albert. Twins look totally adorable and Charlene looks great too.Must admit quite like her outfit as well. For some reason she loos here like Samantha form Sex in the City lol

  4. Trishizle says:

I like the shoes. Just not with that outfit.

  5. Chinoiserie says:

The babies and their costumes are adorable. And I do not know why any babies should wear shoes. Baby shoes are cute but kind of pointless right?

    • MrsBPitt says:

But they should have at least put socks on their little feet! I don’t want babies toe toes to get chilly!!!

      • JoanEU says:

It’s terribly muggy in Monte Carlo and the weather has been pretty warm the last few days, so I’m not suprised to see wiggly baby toes. It’s better to go barefoot for them, especially since they aren’t walking yet.
Baby shoes are cute but, on the whole, indeed pointless. Soft pram shoes are excellent and practical.

The one who should re-think the shoes is Albert. White pants and black shoes? He looks like a toy soldier in that ensemble!

    • Deedee says:

Oh, I love little baby feet! The shoes and socks get kicked off and lost at this age. And the little baby toes are so cute. 🙂 Irresistible.

    • evermore says:

The babies look adorable and the couple look very happy. Wishing them the best because the press certainly has a negative agenda with them, regardless of what they do or how happy they look.

      • vauvert says:

I hope they are as happy as they look. The twins are just so cute! Great outfit on Charlene, love the comfy sandals, I find the red lip a bit harsh on her, but so what, if she likes it, then it’s all good.

    • Tough Cookie says:

I love that the babies aren’t wearing shoes!!

  6. Citresse says:

    Charlene looks totally different.

    • MrsBPitt says:

I love her hair like that! It’s really pretty on her! And she doesn’t look as miserable as she did when they were first married. I think she is very happy to be a Mommy! I have to laugh at that magazine article, in which Charlene says Gabriella loves pink! I’m sure she doesn’t know what pink is at this age!

      • BendyWindy says:

You’d be surprised! My two year old can’t verbally identify colors, but has shown a strong preference for pink (and sparkles) from infancy. If you offer her two of something, she’ll choose pink 90% of the time. It’s fascinating to me, because I really tried not to push that on her until she was old enough to express a preference.

      • Malificent says:

I was playing with beads with my 3-year-old niece and I asked if she could hand me a “light orange” bead. Sighed, rolled her eyes, and said “Auntie, that color is not orange — it’s apricot!”

    • Shambles says:

I think she looks gorgeous. And miss Gabby is giving me life– what a little goddess behbeh.

    • JoanEU says:

She does, although she is beautiful. The short hair works.
It’s creepy how much she looks more and more like Grace, though.

  7. tracking says:

Wow, those are gorgeous babies. They look like their mum.

  8. Denise says:

Charlene seems so happy since the kids were born. I think that even the marriage is good now. I’ happy for her!

  9. Miran says:

Babies don’t need shoes till they can walk, they’re just for show until that point.

    • Tough Cookie says:

Exactly!! We lived in Florida when my daughter was born and I never put shoes on her until she learned to walk.

  10. Coconut says:

First thing I thought was I love Charlene’s sandals!

  11. Jenny says:

I think Charlene looks beautiful here, except for the red lipstick. Red lipstick hardly ever works for any woman, you have to perfect (bleached) teeth and really full lips à la Jolie to look good in it.

    • Amanda says:

Really? I love wearing red lipstick and I get a lot of compliments when I do. I don’t bleach my teeth, although I do have
somewhat full lips (not as extreme as Angelina’s though).

    • notasugarhere says:

She doesn’t usually wear such a deep color. I think she wore it to keep with the red and white theme of the day.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I love red lipstick on some people, but agree it looks sort of harsh on her. Otherwise, I thought she looked very pretty, though.

  12. lucy2 says:

    Cute babies!
Monaco National Picnic? Somewhere Kelly Rutherford is screaming that her children are being forced to eat on the ground like animals.

    • notasugarhere says:

2 1/2 weeks have passed already? Just a few more days until the next court appearance.

The Giersch kids, their father, family and friends may have had a great time at the national picnic. Without photos! Better life all around for them in Monaco.

    • evermore says:

Kelly Rutherford ..yikes….I wish she could find some way to stop fighting and have a calmer life with her children and her ex husband.

    • SavageGrace says:

Shrubs, gates, walls and security guard on bikes – now picnics! BARBARIANS!!

  13. notasugarhere says:

I don’t know how long it has been a tradition, but these two have shown up at the Monaco picnic since at least 2009. One year Charlene dressed in the traditional outfit as well.

    • evermore says:

yes, true….I recall seeing photos of her in traditional dress.
I love the babies outfits….so cute.

  14. Jen43 says:

Those babies ate beautiful. I hope they make Charlene happy. They have chaned her narrative for sure.

  15. Smd says:

They look very happy here and I’m so glad to see it! Nice change and not a Kartrashian in sight. My new self help kick is to actively avoid all K posts, news items and products. Please my sisters and brothers in snark, let us make it a new day free from from the K’s!

  16. The Original Mia says:

I know I left a comment. Can’t imagine why it was deleted.

The babies are adorable. The costumes are cute. Everyone seems happy.

  17. stinky says:

wow she looks GREAT – ive never seen her w/o her weird tan.
    Thats the difference.
Shes got on alot of makeup, ditched the tan, and she looks awesome (to me).

  18. SavageGrace says:

Jacques and Gabriella are just too cute – I can’t get enough! 😀

  19. Reece says:

    BABY FEET!!!

  20. K 2 says:

My mother was horrified when she saw photos of Prince George in shoes as a baby. “Shoes on a baby! If she has a girl, will she use a hair-band bow, too?!” If you look at photos of Prince William/Harry as babies, I’m pretty sure they will never have worn shoes until walking, either. I think it’s a British thing, because I’ve had people from other countries express horror over my babies’ bare toes.

Seriously gorgeous babies. I hope the genes keep working for them – when your mother looks as she does, and your grandmother is Grace Kelly, you have a good shot at being beautiful into adulthood, surely?

  21. aurelia says:

Even big Al has perked up since becoming a father for the 3rd or 4th time. But this time he can enjoy it with his legit kids.

    • taxi says:

I noticed that too. Albert has been far less grumpy, at least in pics, since the twins arrived.

  22. OTHER RENEE says:

Gorgeous family. And I absolutely LOVE Charlene’s shoes!

  23. Camilla L-M says:

Jacques looks so much like Charlene before the extensive PS, Gabriella looks more like Albert. Cute
