Brad Pitt brings Knox to the MotoGP British Grand Prix, Knox looked bored

I’m quite sure that Knox Jolie-Pitt, like his siblings, has a lot of personality. It’s just that we never really see much of him and when we do, he’s usually being overshadowed by his siblings. When Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt take the kids out individually, Knox usually isn’t around. Until now! Brad and Knox had some father-son bonding time on Sunday at the MotoGP British Grand Prix race in England. These are some photos from the event.

At one point, Brad and Knox move away from the action and I swear, it looks like Brad is giving Knox a little pep talk. Is Knox not really all that interested in motorcycles? Does Knox wish he could be at home with a good book? I don’t know. But it does seem like Knox is humoring his dad in some of these photos. Like, “Oh, yes, this is exciting. I’m having a good time, I promise. Sigh…” What’s interesting is that I also think Knox probably got his dad’s easy-going personality. Knox just didn’t get Brad’s enthusiasm for motorcycles.

Apparently, Brad went to this race because he narrated the documentary Hitting the Apex. Pitt and the director, Mark Neale, were there as part of some kind of promotion. So, I found the trailer for this film and… no disrespect, but it seems weird that they got an American to narrate a documentary about what seems like a mostly European sport. While I get that Brad loves motorcycles and all of this, it does seem like he was an odd choice for narrator.

As a big MotoGP fan, I was patiently waiting for this post… 🙂 Poor Knox was subjected to a cold rainy British “summer” weather which probably didn’t help keeping his spirits up as a little kid. He is probably not a massive fan either otherwise he might have been in tears over meeting one of the sport’s legends, Rossi, like this little fella was upon meeting Marc Marquez: https://twitter.com/Hector/status/637671762101174272

Beyond Brad’s love for motorcycles and motorcycle racing, he was also chosen to represent the sport globally.
While MotoGP has surpassed F1 in terms of racing thrill and pure enjoyment for several years now, it remains a sport shadowed by F1 although it races on several same tracks and travels the world just as much, being a great vehicle for major international brands (Red Bull’s sponsoring has been steadily on the rise since 2010, just to name one amongst many companies involved with the sport). It may look random and not logical, but it’s completely in tune with MotoGP’s desire to establish itself properly as the twin on two wheels of F1 (although I’d argue it is much better than the former). At the time of narrating the documentary, three Grand Prix events of the yearly calendar (around 20 dates annually) were hosted in the US. Unfortunately, due to the lack of rising American stars in the sport (being a major factor in the poor attendance of the US races these past years), as of next year, the US will only host 1 Grand Prix event for MotoGP. The push to remain solidly anchored in North America has unfortunately not paid off and it has been sad for many fans to see favourite classic races like Laguna Seca and Indianopolis leave the calendar over the course of the past 12 months due to lack of proper current markets. Brad was definitely a good choice to try and attempt to lure Americans back into the sport (which has had several American legends).

It may take knowing the world of MotoGP a bit to understand Pitt’s casting but it really was one of the most solid gambles in a shaky US market regarding the sport.

    • KC7 says:

A fellow GP fan! American attendance is also poor due to the tracks gouging prices. You could get tickets with pit passes to several races across Europe for the price of 1 semi decent seat at Indy this year. I think they were banking on European fans making the trip, but with prices like that it was never happening! We’re state side nowadays and there was no way we were going. Laguna usually has a good turn out, it does have the advantage of being in Cali though

      • Giraffe says:

I was at Indy last month and I thought it had a good turn out for a US race. Americans won’t get into the sport when the only TV coverage is Fox Sports 1 at 8am on a Sunday, and the have terrible announcers for the US races. And with a delayed start they just had to cut podium coverage to start showing a six hour car race. Maybe Knox is a Cal Crutchlow fan and that’s why he wasn’t into it.

    • FuefinaWG says:

My brother introduced me to what I call Super Bike Racing a few years ago. He happened to be over at my house and we were clicking through random channels on the TV and he stopped on ESPN. I was dreading watching the race but found it very thrilling to watch only 60 seconds in and I have been a major fan ever since.
I watch NASCAR, too … but that’s pretty much only for the crashes …

  2. hilda says:

Poor child ! WHY drag him with you there ?

    • Malificent says:

As a parent sometimes you just guess wrong. You think they are going to love something based on their interests and they don’t. I took my fossil-loving 6-year-old to a dinosaur dig site and he was unimpressed and annoyed all afternoon. Stuff happens. Knox got a daddy day and they probably stopped for hot chocolate on the way home.

      • JBC says:

I came here to say this exactly. And sometimes, they really are having fun but are a bit overwhelmed and act…well, like Knox is. Daddy Pitt could be asking if he wants to go back home chat (not angry, just ‘have you had enough?’) and Knox is wanting to stay.

    • Neah23 says:

Like most kids he probably said he wanted to go and once he got there realize it wasn’t what he thought it was.

Like last weekend my 8 year old niece was in town, I live in NYC and was going out for a bit and she was begging me to go even after I told her many times that it was going to be a lot of walking. I eventually gave in and 15 minutes into the walk I end up giving her a piggyback ride because she was complaining that her feet hurt.

      • lola says:

Knox and Viv are the babies of the family. I don’t care that they just turned 7, in a big family such as the Jolie-Pitt family, they are no doubt coddled more than the other children. Knox and Viv, both, are babied, you can see that by the way Angie still carries Viv around. You can also see the way both Shiloh and Zee always hold Knox’s hand when the family are out in public.

I’m sure Knox was happy to be with his Dad, but maybe the noise was too much, maybe he wished one of his brothers was there, too.

I can’t get over how much Knox looks like Angie, he seems to have Brad’s temperament, and Angie’s looks. Just as Viv looks exactly like the Pitt side of the family, but is so attached to her Mother, she barely leaves her side.

Give Knox time, it’s not his fault he and his twin sister are the babies in the family.

  3. Mispronounced Name Dropper says:

I’d be bored too. Car racing is the height of tedium.

  4. lower-case deb says:

knox looked like someone who just got told that they’d be going to Legoland but ended up in a carpark instead

    • Luca76 says:

Yeah totally looks like something that may have sounded fun but ended up so tedious for a 7 year old to sit through. I hope he got some ice cream after.

    • tracking says:

Ha. Seems like something that would have better suited one of the older boys. Even if he’s bored, he’s well behaved. Cutie.

  5. Beth No. 2 says:

Brad looks really good in the pics. Poor Knox looks sleepy.

I used to love F1, but I stopped watching after the FIA fiddled with the rules and took the excitement out of the sport.

    • Jib says:

I was just thinking that Knox is adorable, a beautiful kid, but Brad looks haggard. I don’t think he’s aging well.

      • jeanne says:

this kid has a perfect face. i can’t wait to see him grown up. he’s going to be so much better looking than his father and that’s saying a lot since Legends of the Fall Brad Pitt is pretty incredible

      • lola says:

Brad looks great, odd, how “some” want him to look “haggard”, or say, he’s not “aging well”. There’s a picture someone took on Instagram where Brad has his hat off, hot dayum, the man looks good.

      • Jib says:

@lola, really, how silly. Why would I “want” Brad to look good or bad?? He means absolutely nothing to me, I’m not some idol-worshipper. I was making what I felt was an objective comment. I obviously don’t have the same level of commitment as you do to policing Brad’s PR.

(It’s really weird how some people defend actors/actresses they don’t even know all of the time. These people would run you over with their limo rather than get out to help you. Such idol worship!!)

      • Carmen says:

For a 51 year old guy, Brad is looking great.

      • lola says:

Anistonloonies never think Brad or Angie are “aging well”, and @jib, you are a hen. And you definitely are invested in how Brad looks, or you wouldn’t have commented.

      • Amy says:

Really? I think he looks incredible! Especially for a guy over 50.

  6. Betti says:

LOL it certainly looks like it – ‘Yeah dad this is great’ *looks up at the sky*. The little guy does seem to have a thoughtful look on his face in these shots or maybe he’s just shy.

  7. MrsBPitt says:

Knox probably thought it would be fun…”Hey, son, want to come watch some cool motorcycles”, but standing in the rain and cold, wearing the noise muffling head phones, while your Dad is making a speech and taking pics with fans…not so much fun! I think Knox is a beautiful little boy…he is a perfect combination in looks of AJ and BP…A future heartbreaker for sure!

  8. Emma - the JP Lover says:

I think Knox looks like his other siblings look when they’re the focus of strangers taking their picture and calling out their names. If this had been any other Jolie-Pitt child they would have looked the same. Where do you think these pictures come from? In the last picture above you can see the Paps to the right behind a metal chain-linked fence snapping pictures of Brad and Knox.

  9. Viv says:

Don’t blame him for being bored, I’d be too. I went to Silverstone once for the F1 Grand Prix, and it was a cold and miserable experience. I’d watch that documentary though, and I do like Brad’s voice.

Anyway, this reminded me of the video of brad falling off his chopper in traffic. Sorry, but I laughed so hard at that video.

    • BNA FN says:

What was so funny seeing someone falling off a motorbike? Was it funny because it was Brad Pitt? I saw that fall and my thought was thank heavens he was not hurt by a car next to him.

      • Viv says:

Yeh, he clipped a stationary car while travelling at maybe 2mph, and wasn’t hurt, and I found it funny.

I should have started a prayer circle for his recovery instead, my bad.

      • lola says:

Typical FF”er, they think it hilarious if Brad, Angie, or even one of the children, falls, are pushed, or in danger some way. Makes their day. A plane crash with the entire family aboard would make them giddy for the rest of their lives. They’ve certainly been vocal enough about hoping for such a tragedy.

    • Cleo says:

      that’s weird

  10. lisa2 says:

So the article is about the 7 year old and not how AMAZINGLY HOT HIS FATHER LOOKS.

I’m going to focus on the Daddy.. Brad looks GREAT.. love the shot haircut and the shaven face. Knox looks like he got a similar cut.. I saw a picture of Brad without the hat.. NICE.

I watched the race and it is amazing that they can stay on those bikes.. Brad narrates Hitting the Apex.. and he has such a wonderful voice.. I may check it out.

Knox is a beautiful little boy.. so much like both of his parents.

    • Chinoiserie says:

Really? I think Brad looks pretty old and tired in these pictures.

I follow F1 but I do not think I would have been excited to watch a race as a child and same with MotoGP. Probbaly Knox enjoys watching races casually with his dad but being there is quite boring.

      • MrsBPitt says:

Brad is what? 51 years old….He looks like a very handsome, sexy, mature man! I mean, he isn’t going to look like the Brad of Fight Club (that body, yum) or the Brad of The Legend of the Falls (that face, that hair, I’m drooling)…but for 51 years old…yes, yes, and yes…he still does it for me!!!!!

      • lisa2 says:

        @ Chinoiserie
I’m not surprised you would feel that way.

      • minx says:

Old? No. He’s 51 and looks great.

      • Emily C. says:

I’ve never understood the supposed Brad Pitt hotness thing. He just looks… normal. He’s a better person than 99% of the Hollywood types, but again, that just means he’s normal.

      • Jib says:

        Here comes the barrage!!!

His eyes have huge circles under them and he looks haggard. He looks old. He’s not aging well. He must have a lot of stress, six kids, a life where he travels a lot, charities, a wife who had major surgeries. It’s taking a toll on his looks.

And so what? At least he has a real life and does some good in this world. More than I can say for Kate M or Amal.

      • jeanne says:

I think he looks pretty darn amazing for 51.

and yes, @mrsbradpitt – legends of the fall brad pitt is the best!

      • Cleo says:

        Soooo transparent are the hens…lol

Bet they remember like crystal Mr McBaldy Poseur-Aniston aka unknown actor no one cared about before he became you know whos savior – in some bad movie from the 90s or some guest starring spot on a Tv show and has posted multiple times on how hot (no one but the sad hens) thinks he is though. Lolol

    • Carmen says:

Knox looks like an easygoing, laid-back little guy who takes things in stride and nothing fazes him very much.

When he was born he looked more like Brad, but now he is the spitting image of his grandpa Bill Pitt.

      • Cleo says:

        @carmen

        Bill Pitt?

He’s Angelina thru and thru, he’s basically got every one of his mom’s features (who has her dads exact bone structure) including the exact same shaped head and flat facial plane, he’s even got the Jon Voight cleft in his chin.

He’s got Brad’s eye color (though that could be JV too) sometimes the shape of his eye looks big and round like Angies and at times it looks hooded like Brad’s (see up top). Which if you have anything of Brad’s those eyes would be the thing to have.

He looks like his mother overall.

  11. I don't understand says:

I think we’ve all been bored by our parents hobbies from time to time. I think it’s good that they shared this experience. Everything shouldn’t be about your kids.

    • Lovely says:

Yes, finally someone said it. I agree so much, we live our parents lives and share their choices until we move out. That simple.

  12. harlequin says:

Knox is really such a beautiful boy.

  13. BNA FN says:

While we are photo doing assumption who knows if he was being bombarded by people taking photos and wanting to get his dad’s attention. Also, he might have asked to go and then the atmosphere was too hectic for him. Btw, Brad is looking mighty fine.

  14. dippit says:

Not a fan in general of the J-Ps but I think most parents have experienced excursion ‘toleration’ from the little ones they belong to at some time.

Brad spent time with Knox, maybe a touch (small) mano a mano in mild battling over boredom thresholds, but can only be a good thing.

Share your interests, suck it n see style, with them when they’re young and you have a better chance they’ll want to include you more in some of their older person interests down the line… that’s when you have to flip the ‘tolerating’ and *sigh* through another in-depth analysis of different Gaming platforms or Pokemon v Digimon – with visual aides provided.

Brad seems properly engaged and parenty here, it suits him.

  15. Catelina says:

The weather looked gross. Wouldn’t blame Knox for being brought down by it. He’s so cute. Brad is narrating the film because he produced it, was heavily involved in its editing process, and he was asked.

  16. desertrose says:

Brad looks tired. I guess even the most genetically blessed humans can’t stay hot forever. Oh well, we will always have Fight Club.

    • lola says:

He took his hat off, while he was there, oh yeah, he’s still HOT, HOT, HOT. The man has the best hair in HW. And it’s ALL his own. He should be calling his Mother every day to thank her for his thick hair.

      • Jib says:

Can you ever leave any comment that doesn’t worship Brad Pitt alone?? you are obsessed. It’s not healthy. Really.

      • eva says:

        @Jib

What’s it to you? If you don’t want to read how hot they think Brad is, move along.

  17. Dena says:

For some reason I love the last picture. It’s the picture of compromise and conflict. “Ok. I recognize that you aren’t digging this like I am. Here let me comfort you but I’m sorry, I mean well, but my attention is locked and focused on thing A.” The emotions are there, true and honest but mentally . . .

  18. Colette says:

It is really amazing how Brad can look old, tired and refreshed and plastic at the same time.
    #Sarcasm
Brad took Maddox to a similar race in Italy in 2008 when he was 7.It is possible Knox wanted to go because he saw pic or heard about it.
Who knows ,but it is nice seeing Knox again he is adorable.

  19. Paige says:

Knox looks like much like Angelina. Beautiful boy and handsome dad.

  20. Corrie says:

He seemed to enjoy it as much as any 7yo would. For about 10mins. Then meh – been there seen that. Its been awhile since Brad’s been clean shaven. Looks good and Knox looks like mini-me to dad. Brad was in Ireland to oversee production of his film Lost City of Z with Robert Pattinson and Charlie Hunnam with a stop over in London. Pretty cool.

  21. KellyBee says:

He filming a movie in the UK right now.

  22. Maya says:

Brad is looking mighty gorgeous and Knox is a beautiful child.

Another good news is the fact that By the Sea is opening the AFI – the prestigious festival which hasn’t been opened by a female director for more than a decade.

This should shut up people who claimed Universal didn’t have faith in this movie.

    • Judd says:

Oh, please… There is STILL little faith in this picture. The only ones fawning all over it are the JP fans. It is Burton-Taylor all over again!

      • Maya says:

You keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better.

5 million views on YouTube plus lots of positive comments, interest from critics and the media is saying that YOU are wrong.

      • lola says:

Judd is not listening to anyone but the haters, not a good habit to get into.

    • lola says:

Amazing how all of a sudden the prestigious AFI Festival is no longer “relevant”, since BTS is opening the Festival. Every other year it’s a big deal. The naysayers are alive and well, where Brad and Angelina Pitt are concerned.

  23. iheartgossip says:

Well perhaps while Dad was talking about attending, Little Guy was super excited to go and wanted to be ‘cool’ with dad. It happens all the time. *ask my daughter!* They get to the event and realize BLEH. So – not a big deal to me. And, Brad looks great!!

    • Tara says:

I think they both look adorable. Knox reminds me of my little guy; he thinks things sound like fun… then has very serious opinions once he gets there. Love how Brad is down on Knox’s level talking to him. Great dad. Cute little guy.

  24. Liz says:

Knox is cute but Brad is not aging well. He looks too old and tired for his age.

  25. LAK says:

I’ve always thought that Knox looks like BP, but in these photos all i’m seeing is AJ.

  26. TripleThreat says:

    No way
Viv, shiloh look genetically related. Knox looks like an unrelated Eastern European child to me. We’ll see as he ages but I’d naturally assume he’s one of the adopted children. I don’t know why my gut tells me this. I’m sure he’ll change as he ages but…no
He doesn’t look like anyone in that family. He just seems to be from different stock. Hospital switch? Who the hell knows?

  27. Beatrice says:

Knox is spitting image of Angelina!
