Here are some photos of Michael Fassbender out and about in NYC this week. He didn’t seem to be going anywhere in particular, he just got pap’d outside of his hotel. His hair looks much better here than it did at the NYFF premiere of Steve Jobs. I like his casual look a lot, actually, and he seems to be in a great mood. He was smiling and laughing as he said hello to fans and paparazzi. Why the good mood? Well, the critics say he’s probably/definitely going to be a BIG contender for all of the Best Actor awards this year. The reviews for Steve Jobs are glowing – while there are some mixed reactions about the script, I think Fassy’s performance seems universally beloved. Maybe “beloved” isn’t the right word, but they say he’s an excellent Jobs.
Meanwhile, remember how Kate Winslet told Fassy that all she really wanted for her 40th birthday was a pressure cooker? She told him that in the middle of their junket and he promised that he would be the one to give it to her. And he did!
Michael Fassbender is a man of his word. Just days after he told Kate Winslet he would get her a pressure cooker for her 40th birthday, he made good on his promise.
“He got me a pressure cooker,” Winslet, whose birthday is today, told E! News at the New York Film Festival screening of their new movie Steve Jobs (in theaters Oct. 9). “What happened was we were about to leave the house to go to the airport and this box arrived and I was like, ‘Ah, we’re about to leave the house.’ But it was this huge box and I was like, ‘What the heck is going on?’ Then I see on the side of it, it says Tefal,” she said, referring to the cookware brand. “I was like, ‘Ah, Tefal,’ and then I opened it. He’s a good boy. He got me the pressure cooker.”
And Fassbender did his research. “It was down to three,” he told E! News. “I’m happy with the choice.”
That’s really sweet. I’m glad he followed through. I get the impression – and maybe this is harsh, but so be it – that Fassy is kind of cheap? Like, even with girlfriends, his idea of spoiling a lady is buying a round of drinks at the pub. So it’s nice to see that Fassy actually spent some money and got Winslet exactly what she wanted for her birthday.

I read somewhere that yesterday he gave an interview in a swedish magazine which is serious (not only about the gossip) and he said that it’s over with AV. It’s really confusing what’s going on between them. This whole PR posse is a mess

I think that the Swedish magazine got garbled in translation. They certainly seem to be together. No reason to call it a hook-up–unless you hook-up for a year at a time!

This hooking up and breaking up schick is now to the point of getting on my nerves. Do I think this PR.? Yes, and this will be good for her on her part, but it seems pathetic to me. She got her to more famous, why would she want to around Fassbender when AV is doing just fine with that by herself. She need a back bone and just grow up.
Even pure PR couples show more affection and interest than these two, so if it’s PR someone doesn’t want to play along. I have no idea what’s going on but she brought a male friend to the premiere of Jobs – who does it when you’re going to join your boyfriend at the party? In any case, they both seem to be long over it, not sure why she shows up at his events since he doesn’t go to hers. Maybe to get more exposure? Not worth it, IMO. She starts to look like she’s stalking him.
@mixxx. I have been saying that for the longest time. AV has alway attended his premieres but Fassy has never been at hers. This is why I say it is pathetic on her part. She needs to move on and find another boyfriend who more famous than Fassbender,
They clearly are still hooking up(just saw the pictures on Twitter, nothing special, she looks glum actually)—he said this was casual from the get go so why is there sooo much fuss over this? This is not a Nicole relationship.
We have the smae common ground. I thought the same thing. This is a casual thing and that’s it. I still think however he has this love, that special kind of love for a Black woman. But I don’t know, I really don’t care for her and Michael is doing just fine, but they don’t deserve each other.

He has something handsome about him yet he looks ancient to me. He looks way over 38.. Much like my confusion regarding Benedict Cumberbatch, I just don’t get the fuss about his looks. Fassy is a very good actor, I’ll say that.
its not about how handsome he is, its his sex appeal. I couldn’t understand why people talked about him like he was super hot didn’t find him pretty to look at at all, but when i saw him in motion i got it!
agreed, he’s nothing special in most still photos, especially these candid pap photos. leathery faced and short-legged. BUT onscreen, in motion, he is sex on a stick.
It’s not just about his looks. I mean his eyes are gorgeous. And his eyebrows with their wrinkles are so manly and beautiful. Plus he has a jawline that looks like it’s made of angels. It’s his whole attitude that makes him extremely hot. His voice and accent are sexy, too
I just can’t imagine that KW “needs” a pressure cooker. This has to be some kind of joke right? She probably doesn’t cook and doesn’t have to schedule her day around cooking and hauling kids around between working a full time job. If she had wanted a pressure cooker she could have had a hundred sent to her house. Fassy said he would get her one and he followed through but it still seems like a weird story
He got her a pressure cooker because she was going on and on in an interview they did together about those bone broths she wants to do and how they supposed to be good for you and that she needs to buy a pressure cooker. So he said “I’ll buy you one and you make me one of those bone broths”.. So he did. It’s kind of cute, actually.

Well one can cook on a a daily basis and not have a pressure cooker. Because it’s quite a specific tool even if it’s a common one .Some people are quite afraid of it … From what people said , she’s quite good at cooking .I think John Krasinski said she cooked him dinner ( him and the the rest of the cast btw) when he was filming with Sam Mendes. And she’s all the time speaking about some recipe on talk show. So i believe her when she sas she spend her time in the kitchen. Because well she doesnt work that much, always taking big breaks between movies.
It’s actually a pretty damn good general tool… You can brown a roast or a bird in it, then put a rack and water in, bring it to pressure and have your main in 1/3 of the time. Steam chicken breasts on tiered racks in 10-12 minutes- using a rack, and intermittent opening to add items, you can make ingredients for a cottage pie and other one dish meals. Soups go lickety-split, then whiz them to smooth with a stick blender if you like. Grains are a little tricky at first, and I have never done a dessert, fish or eggs, but I love mine. Actors work on projects not all the time. So when she does not have one surely she has time to cook if she likes cooking and many people do like to cook if it is not something they have to do.

Pressure cookers are amazing, so great gift! My family goes hunting quite a bit and any gamey meat in a pressure cooker becomes soft and tender, so you can eat more parts of the animal.
