Lamar Odom is now back in LA. The Las Vegas hospital transferred him by medical helicopter to Cedars-Sinai. Khloe Kardashian still hasn’t left his side, even though sources claim that Lamar has shown great improvements over the past four days. Now a source tells Us Weekly that Lamar’s rehabilitation is going to be “a slow process” because “He’s still really, really sick. There are a million things they’re doing to him still. He’s not doing well. He’s talking a little bit, but not full sentences.” TMZ also says that Lamar’s kidneys are still failing and that he might need a transplant. Still, Khloe seems relieved to have Lamar back in LA and doing better generally. She broke her social media silence by posting a thank you to the fans on her website:
“The past week has been incredibly difficult,” Khloe wrote on her website. “I am so thankful to family, friends, and fans, who have sent nothing but prayers and well wishes to Lamar. I also want to take a moment to thank everyone at Sunrise Hospital, including the amazing doctors and nurses for their kindness and diligent work. Under their amazing care, incredible strides have been made. You can never be prepared for an experience like this, but without the outpouring of love and endless prayers that Lamar has received and the strength I was given from my loved ones, it would have been difficult to endure. Thank you for your continued support. God is great!!!”
A few days ago, I was thinking about the mountain of crap Khloe and her family have gotten for the way they reacted to Lamar’s medical situation. My reading of it was always that the Kardashian-Jenner part of the situation was pretty straight-forward: Khloe still loves Lamar, very openly, and the only reason she walked away from him in the first place was because of his addiction(s). Of course she was going to be there for him and make medical decisions on his behalf. And of course Kris Jenner specifically was going to be there too, and what I always suspected was that Kris stuck close to Khloe for Khloe’s benefit more than Lamar’s. As in, Kris was worried that Khloe would collapse under the weight of having to make the medical decisions for Lamar. Anyway, here’s what I thinking about: what if Khloe and her family had played it differently? What if none of them cared enough to go to Vegas, to take care of him, to show him love? How much sh-t would they have gotten then?

I hate that just because a family is a media-savvy reality joke, it automatically means they are incapable of love or empathy and eberything they do is suspect. I believe as you do- I think her concern is genuine and sincere, and I feel sad for her. And I don’t believe she’s to blame for Lamar’s condition or exploiting it. She just seems like she’s trying to do the right thing.

It was said she stopped the divorce to lamar and I believe the only reason why is because she believes the worst is going to come about his sittuation and her still being his wife she gets it all. She wasnt worried about. Him when she claimed he was harassing her outside I think it was the gym
I have no problem believing that Khloe loves Lamar a great deal, I’m glad she has been there with him. I absolutely do not blame her for Lamar’s problems, the only person to blame is Lamar himself.
However, what I do have a problem with, is the fact that every detail of his medical crisis has been leaked and published for the world to see. It is so invasive and disrespectful, and I can promise you it isn’t coming from hospital employees because we would be hearing about people getting fired.

Good point, Kitten. It could be his family, but the fact that most of the info was/is coming from TMZ and E! which the K’s have a known relationship, says (to me at least) that the likelihood is high it is coming from them.
Also, I don’t blame Khloe for the leaks, mostly just PMK. I doubt Khloe has been in an emotional state to be able to say NO to her mother, even if she wanted to.
I am rooting for Lamar to get healthy and sober and for he and Khloe to get back together, she seemed happiest and at her best when they were together.
The leaks started before the family had even gotten there. Not to mention they were very Kardashian focused.

@Leah-Please relax. Nobody is attacking or blaming the kids. I’m simply saying that we don’t know for certain where the leaks are coming from even if the educated guess is Kris Jenner. This is the age of social media and there are a LOT of people by Lamar’s bedside right now.
If the leaks were coming from the Vegas hospital staff then why are there still leaks if he has changed hospitals? Both hospitals are breaking HIPPA laws? Of course it’s coming from Kardashians.
And no I do not believe Kris has her daughter’s best interest at heart. She leaked and publicized her kids sex tape. She trashes her son because he is fat. She has no f**** to give if it means making money.

Could be wrong?.. anyways, Daniel Artest seems to be the one giving some leaks and(unintentionally feeding the press, recent Fb about lamar are public as well as twitter.) as he has been keeping things up to date on social media, the press just twists it a bit, so it seems . since moving hospitals he’s allowed more visitors so there you go more opportunity for leaks.
Even if his friends mean well like Daniel, I think maybe his friends or people around him just maybe gives the press ammo so to speak,

I don’t think people are doubting Khloe’s real concern for Lamar, and she has a legitimate reason to be there. The doubts are all centered on Kris Jenner and Kim, for very good reason.
If they don’t use this sad time for part of their reality series then maybe I will believe they have some sort of compassion and heart. I won’t be surprised if they do it though I just don’t think they are strong enough not to use this situation for their own benefit.

If any of it ends up as a storyline, then we will have our answer as to whether they really care for him or not. What he has gone through is extremely personal, and should not be aired for consumption. (I also don’t think there is a need for every Kardashian to be there.)
Kaiser, as for your wondering what the public would have done had only Khloe gone to see him, or had they stayed away, I think it would have had to do with what they said. Had Khloe gone by herself, or not gone and then they said that they are praying for him and wish him a full recovery, but that they are giving him his space since he and Khloe are divorced – other than it being filed – then I think it would have been okay. Had it just been radio silence, then yes, I think the public would’ve called them cold hearted jerks.
One thing I don’t like is that the reports were saying that Khloe had flown his ex-wife and children to see him, but in reality, the ex-wife flew them all to his side. I wish that the correction were being told as much as the lie because it makes Khloe look better than she is. (Because she totally could’ve afforded to fly them even via private jet as soon as it happened, but she didn’t.)
The stories are also trying to imply that Khloe and/or the K Klan are paying for everything, bringing in “experts” etc., which is incredibly unlikely. Only the K’s would be spreading something so ridiculous. If Lamar’s relatives or his children’s mother were the source, the stories would read very differently. Instead it’s all about the K’s. Real friends of Lamar have been gently trying to point out that the K Klan and its entourage have been interfering with access of his children to their father.
Yep, they will have the opportunity to show genuine love and compassion by not airing this on their show. I have serious doubts they can handle that.
I don’t say this to be unkind, and I truly wish Lamar a full recovery, but I thought drug addicts were not eligible for kidney transplants? Maybe an exception will be made because of his celebrity. Anyway, I think Khloe loves him and I hope all of the negativity hasn’t reached her yet. I’m sure she will find out about it, but it sounds like she didn’t know that people were blaming her for his downfall and saying she was only there for the cameras, etc.. That would have made a bad situation even worse for her.
He may be able to get by with one, and in that case there could be someone willing and able to give him one of theirs.
Also, I’m not sure how it works in the U.S., but where I live there’s a secondary waiting list. People who can’t get on the first transplant list for whatever reason may be eligible to receive an organ from a person who would not have otherwise been able to donate due to health problems. In a worst case scenario that may buy a person a few more years, by which time a drug user like Lamar may be eligible for the regular transplant list if he’s clean and sober. But again, I have no idea if the U.S. has a system like that.
Oh, true, I forgot someone living could donate one kidney. Duh.
@kate Sadly My best friend is currently hospitalized waiting for a new heart to be available to her, and she is on the first list you speak off. From what she has explained to me, in the US there are two lists, one is the critical list ( there’s an official name for it but I forget what it is) where there are no other measures or therapies that can prolong life, they get a transplant first, then there is a 2nd list where they still need the transplant and are still waiting for one but they do have some measures that can help keep up with “quality of life” they just have to wait much longer. Now If a family member wants to transfer a kidney or whatever to you that’s a different story and I believe works it in a different way outside of the list. The whole thing is depressing.
My daughter is on the transplant waiting list and it breaks into 2 types:
Status 1 is for patients who are in immediate and desperate need of organs. Donors are actively being searched for them. The way UNOS works is by first going out to the region where a donor dies. If nobody in the region is eligible or a match, then it goes out nationally. There are LOTS of factors involved in receiving organs including 1) you cannot be sick at time organs are available 2) your quality of life (Lamar’s drug problems would make him a very touchy subject as far as quality of life is concerned) in terms of doctors’ opinions on how well you would respond to transplant and donor organs (Post transplant recovery is a bitch as well) 3) Blood and body types matching up
Status 2 is for patients who are gaining time on the waiting list. They still need a transplant but not in dire need of one. My daughter has been on the list for small bowel and intestinal for 4 years now. So if Joe X needs an intestinal transplant but is also not dire he will be down on the list and my daughter will be closer to the top. So if either gets bumped to a status 1, my daughter would receive a call first before Joe X if she was a match. I hope that helps some.

If a family member wants to give it they can, I’m not sure about transplant lists but I do know for certain a family member can do it. I dated this guy whose brother was a bad drug addict for a long time. He had been in and out of prison and along the way developed diabetes and got hep. Their mother donated a kidney to him so he could have a second shot. Sadly after a couple of years he went back to doing drugs and died a few years back. It did extend his life for about five years and being a mother myself I doubt she regrets her decision or her sacrifice.
That’s really sad. I doubt she regrets it either. She had to try.
I think she does care for him but is far too easily led, manipulated by PMK and the others, I hope she’s strong enough to tell them to eff off when they inevitably try to use this for the show.
I’m one of the cynical ones. I’m sad that Lamar is in a rough place but considering all that’s gone on with KUPWTK, I’m not buying the Kardashian-Jenner “love” of Lamar over their ratings.

Khloe said she was always going to be there for Lamar and still thought of him as family long before he got sick. She didn’t cut him off (which a lot of people would do for their own sanity and would be within their right to do so) but i think Khloe sees the bigger picture, she knows his background, she knows him better than anyone else and knows why he continues with destructive behavior and has learned not to take it so personally when he treats her badly. It’s a very hard situation to be in, to know that you are one of the few people he can rely on and who truly cares for him, but to also want to get on with your own life. I doubt they will end up together, but he needs her now. The future will sort itself out.

I don’t doubt that Khloe truly cares and is really concerned about Lamar but ‘E’ had a lot of sources from inside the hospital leaking all these informations to the media outlet and we all know the Kardashians were the ‘sources’. I wouldn’t be surprised if Lamar’s near death experience would be next season’s biggest story line in their reality show along with Kim’s new baby.
i think they could have been at lamar’s side, support him and NOT publishing any statement on anything on social media related to the situation like “im praying for you bla bla” , their support would have been more genuine, the only ones who really care about lamar are i believe are kloe and rob, that’s it.

Now that Lamar is in LA and rehabing, time for the “leaks” to stop. TMZ has pictures close up of Lamar being transported to LA and they do not look like they were taken from a distance (maybe they were). But who let out the fact that he was being transported at the time? I will believe they truly care if all the day to day, hour to hour stories go away. Update once every week or two but not the continuous stories that abound. Khloe well may care for Lamar, but time for her to shut down her family and the constant stories.
The media was literally camped out in the parking lot across from the hospital. it’s not hard to used telephoto lens either. look it up to see just how much distance those things cover.
I believe khloe loves Lamar I actually do. I however don’t believe that kris or the rest of the family has been there to support or help khloe. Kris (all of them) are there for attention and press. If they were there out if love and family then we wouldn’t have had constant updates and news leaks, especially about Khloe!

And taking up visiting time from lamars children so they have to wait in line to see their dad like that meta guy said? Was that necessary? If I were Khloe, I would feel tremendous anger at what was essentially a suicide attempt. I hope she is getting some counseling, because she is in for even more of a rough ride with him than before. God, addicts are tough on the ones who love them.
I get that there are people they don’t like the Kardashian show and how it’s been a springboard for their lifestyle brand.
However Lemar willingly and fully embraced their lifestyle he participated in their TV show and had a TV show of his own. He also enjoyed the benefit of the publicity and the endorsement deals. I truly believed he and Chloe loved each other.
His proclivities towards infidelity and drugs also pre-dated his connection with the Kardashian’s. I know he’s a very likable guy, and people love to hate the Kardashians, but really there’s a lot of dark stuff here that has to be dealt with and can’t be all laid at the doorstep of the Kardashians.
At the end of the day the Kardashians have a TV show and lifestyle brand and make a living creating interest through tabloid fodder. That doesn’t mean that everything that makes it on the show or into the papers is real. I know it’s very satisfying to have someone to hate but I think it’s very clear that the tabloids like Radar and TMZ are manufacturing story lines in this situation as well. I don’t really see any benefit from the Kardashian’s leaking any of this info. It’s ugly stuff.
Lamar was on those TV shows because he wanted to be. He was in that brothel because he wanted to be. I hope he recovers and gets the help he needs so he can move on in his life with his children his family and everyone else that loves him. Because many people obviously do.
Lamar also repeatedly told them that he did not want his phone calls aired, that he did not want to be a storyline on their show, that it was creating real problems for him and tearing him up inside. But they continued, even setting up little dramas to go along with their scripts. They could do it legally because he signed a comprehensive contract years ago. But morally? No, they were clearly in the wrong morally. Khloe participated in all of it because she was still angry with him, which hopefully she now regrets. The proof of that will be what happens on the show. If they continue to use Lamar for their scripts and Khloe doesn’t just walk away from the show entirely in response – we’ll know she hasn’t learned anything.
The Kardashians have no trouble keeping aspects of their lives off the show when they really don’t want to share. It’s a scripted show, not a 24/7 documentary.

The best thing Lamar can do is recover and separate himself from this toxic family. I don’t doubt that Khloe still loves him but his slow dissent and demise was captured on their reality television show. And yes, he clearly is an addict and needs to face those demons and get on the path to sobriety and recovery, which is very hard to do. The Kardashians did not make him an addict but they emasculated him like every other man that has come into that family in the name of the almighty dollar. I cannot stand anything Kardashian related and it makes me ill that millions of young girls look to them as some kind of role model. Amy Schumer on SNL quipped about it “they take the faces they were born with as a light suggestion.” (hilarious and very true). If he is ever to survive he needs to cut his ties with them. And I am sure that this story line will play out on their show in the future. If and when that happens, I will never understand how their fans do not turn on them; trying to capitalize on someone’s fight for life. Tragic and sad all around.

Her family is another story entirely. There’s a pic online of Kim of course and Kendall and friends at the hospital. Kim, in an advanced stage of pregnancy and claiming serious complications, not only came initially but came back again. There was no point to that other than securing her position in the narrative. She is not a nurturing, supportive type and has repeatedly demonstrated that in the way she treats her sisters and brother on the show, so she can hardly be a good support for Khloe under such circumstances. I can understand why Khloe brought Demon Mother initially (any port in a storm), but Kim has just inserted herself for her own reasons. Kris has angled for “gee I didn’t know the cameras were there” shots outside the hospital. Kim spent the last episode (among others) trashing Lamar but now posts on Instagram a pic of herself dancing with him, with a caption making it all about her. She is incapable of stepping away from the self-promotion even when the others did. Kim and Kris are salivating for the chance to discuss all this and how it affects THEM on their idiot show. Somebody has been advising them to keep a low profile because of the negative reactions to the whole troupe hovering around the sick bed, but that won’t last.
Khloe is the only one who needed to be there – she was designated as his medical decision maker, she did the right thing by coming and staying although she needs to learn how to share duties with other people (not her intrusive family) who also care about Lamar and have known him much longer than she has. But I’m willing to assume she has been acting out of good intentions and just has limited experience dealing with such situations, even though I also suspect bad advice coming from her Demon Mother and self-absorbed sister Kim.
Just as Lamar’s friend said, there is no need for the flock of Kardashians to be at the hospital. The flock has clearly taken away time with him for his own children. The hospital should have read them the riot act, although maybe it did but they ignored it. Kris and Kim are the ones whose intentions and behavior are extremely suspect, and for good reason. Assuming that those two in particular “love” him and care about him is simply naive and goes against everything we’ve observed about the two of them for years. They need to be called out for their behavior, because negative public opinion is the only restraint they feel.
Remember when Caitlyn was initially getting a lot of press and all of a sudden Kim was seen in Malibu a lot (where Caitlyn lives). Has she been spotted there lately? Nope. Same thing is happening again. Kim hates Lamar and didn’t want Khloe speaking to him, now she’s always at the hospital and making sure the paps get a good pic. Pathetic on all accounts.
I haven’t really commented much on the Khloe/Kardashian aspect of this situation because this is about LAMAR! I don’t like Khloe, I never have. She comes off as foul mouthed and very hard to swallow. I do think she really did/does love Lamar and I think what they had was authentic. Unlike Kim and Kanye, and Kylie and Tyga, and K. Jenner and Corey… I really believe Khloe and Lamar’s love story. Which is the reason I was really pissed that they kept using his issues as apart of her story line on the show. Did they not think he would see it and be hurt? I do blame this show as apart of his demise. I’m sorry, but it’s true. Anyways, I find it funny how some of them have said not so nice things about him on TV and yet rush to his side when it’s a media frenzy. He needs to completely get away from these people. He needs to get help. Get healthy and get away while he can. I a not saying they are to blame, he is a grown up and makes his own choices, but they are toxic!

I thought that Lamar left her. He had the apartment in Los Angeles. Yes, she filed for divorce but only when it was obvious he wasn’t going to play in front of the cameras anymore, that he would be bad for the brand.

Called off or just delayed final processing? I can see the problem in a case like this where she needs to maintain next of kin status for a while longer. They could start the processing again later when things are more settled. Although that might give her too much power to drag him onto tv again. Doubt that he is any less gullible than before in his current state.

This whole thing is a goldmine for he K-Trash brand. I’m sure Kris is manipulating the sitch (and her daughter) so as to garner sympathy and visibility while at the same time taking the focus off of Caitlyn for five minutes. Lamar’s misfortune, while it is of his own doing, thus becomes nothing more than a catalyst for rehabilitating Khloe’s image, keeping the family relevant and upping the ratings. Not saying that they don’t care for him or wish him well, but it seems that the cameras always come first — which is more of a threat to the poor man’s long term recovery than his failing kidneys.

Re: the calling off the divorce– I really think that is so she can remain his next of kin and make the medical decisions for him and I’m betting that’s what he wants as well. His children are not of the age where they can make medical decisions for him, and that leaves his father, who is an addict himself and who Lamar has had a very tumultuous relationship with. I honestly don’t think it has anything to do with them getting back together and moreso to do with him making sure she remains his next of kin so she can control the medical decisions regarding his treatment.

The divorce papers had not been finalized anyways. She’s been making all his medical decisions since the day he was found in the brothel. Also, Lamar has an aunt he is close to who has also been by his side at the hospital. He could have given her the right to make all decisions for him. I just don’t understand how Lamar would be able to legally make such a decision (regarding cancelling the divorce) when reports said he may have some cognitive issues right now and isn’t even able to speak or stand up. How can he give his consent then?
Since his aunt isn’t his next of kin (even after the divorce went through–that would go to his kids, then father) then he would have to give her POA. It could just be that Lamar feels more comfortable with Khloe making the decisions, or even the Aunt saying Khloe is the better person to make these decisions for him. Just because someone is there to support you does not mean they feel comfortable making life or death decisions for you (and that’s perfectly fine–his aunt is supporting him in the best way she can). Also, the judge likely took into account his current mental state and still determined that this is what is in his best interest–to allow Khloe to continue to be his power of attorney.
Also she has been making his medical choices so far but if in 5 weeks he’s still requiring treatment (and he will be) and suddenly their divorce is finalized, her authority to continue making those decisions for him suddenly ceases. This is just to maintain the status-quo in terms of his medical care. It really is the most responsible thing to do.
I admire her for supporting him through his substance abuse issues, to the extent that he’s ready for recovery and open to it.
I don’t admire her for restarting anything but a friendship with a man who engages with prostitution and all the exploitation and debasement of women that involves.
Completely unimportant side note (in the larger scheme of things): GOOD wishes. They’re GOOD wishes. You wish someone well, they are not “well” wishes. Stop forgetting how to speak well.

IMO, Khloe really loves her husband to a fault. She loves him despite the circumstances or a mess that lead him to his very critical condition. Maybe his near death experience will change Lamar. This is his second life and it’s very fortunate of him that he has his ex-wife beside him. I would like to think that when he saw & felt that Khloe was really taking good care of him & never left him during the critical hours despite their separation though not yet divorced, it gave him hope, fought for his life & didn’t give up. He saw the light and maybe thought that if he would be given a second life, he would fix his life and be the kind of a man his wife truly deserves. This is an instance of “…for better or for worse, in sickness & in health… till death do us part…”. I don’t know, I don’t exactly like The Kardashians generally (though I find Kendall Jenner & Khloe just fine), but Lamar & Khloe’s love for each other is kind of romantic. A case of you only hate the one you love or as what Angelina Jolie Pitt said in the Vogue video one can madly love the person you want to kill. I don’t know if I am making sense, LOL.
