Christie Brinkley: ‘I tried Botox in the forehead. I won’t ever do that again’

christiebeforeafter
Christie Brinkley, 61, is promoting her new book Timeless Beauty. I get that Christie needs to promote her lifestyle to sell this book, but it bugs me when celebrities who seem to have had extensive work will only admit to trying injectables (and invariably hating them). The lady had some very good work done to her face, but she’s not copping to it. In a new interview with ET Online, she talks about Botox and her one simple trick! for a quick and easy facelift. Doctors hate her! Hint: it involves less recovery time than her last procedure.

The author and former supermodel has maintained her glow at 61, but it hasn’t been without help.

“I tried Botox in the forehead. I’m not a fan. I won’t ever do that again,” Brinkley admitted. “I didn’t like the claustrophobic feeling of not being able to do whatever I want with my eyebrows.”

Brinkley went on to emphasize that needles can’t replace good old-fashioned clean eating and living.

“How you eat and how you exercise, these all play a tremendous role in how you feel, and therefore, how you look,” Brinkley said. “And a smile will give your face an instant lift and it also releases endorphins.”

Lately it’s Brinkley’s boyfriend John Mellencamp who’s been keeping a smile on her face.

“We’re having a good time,” Brinkley said of their budding relationship. “It’s fun!”

[From ET Online]

Christie was also on Wendy Williams’ show, where she repeated that she’s just having a good time with John Mellencamp and added that she’s “just trying to keep my private life private.” By calling the paps? She also said that Mellencamp “has an edge because he’s the only guy in his 60s that asked me out.

As for Christie’s admission that she’s had Botox but implying that’s it and it’s more lifestyle – just look at the before and after pic in the header. The shape of her eyes has totally changed. I’m sure the fact that she takes care of herself helps a lot, but it doesn’t change the way your face looks that drastically. She probably does a lot of non-invasive treatments too.

    Girlfriend’s been tweaking her face…hard!

    • Esmom says:

Seriously. She was almost unrecognizable for a while. She looks a little better now but her face is jacked.

    • vava says:

She’s pretty but……………she has had a lot of subtle work done. Whatever. Just don’t lie about it.

    • me says:

Hah! What a joke. This woman has doing everything in her power (and pocket book) to keep herself looking young and sexy/. No crime in this. Just freakin be honest when confronted.

  2. NYer says:

She’s gorgeous, but come on, we all know she’s had a lot done.

    • Granger says:

She’s 17 years older than me and looks my age or younger — and I happen to think I look pretty good. So… yeah. She’s lying.

  3. Bridget says:

Hahahahahaha! Christie looks good, but the woman is in her 60s. It takes balls to imply that you only need clean living and a smile to have a face like that, not a whole buttload of cosmetic procedures.

    • Alana says:

Takes balls or something …. Like thinking we are morons
I like Christie and she never bothered me but I AM TIRED OF THIS DAMN CELEBRITIES…. Ugh seriously we all age more or less same rate. There are no genetics on this earth or clean eating etc that will have you with a plump , wrinkle free face after 40 and a skinny/toned body. Amirite? It would take balls if they would just admit that they are getting fillers etc. Are they all just trying to insult our intelligence?

      • Amber says:

Her and Cindy Crawford. But I sometimes feel like I am the only one who remembers them toxed and tweaked to death just a few years ago. So, as George Costanza would say, “It’s not a lie if you believe it.” And if you repeat it enough it becomes the truth.

      • Alana says:

It’s just so obvious that they had work done and still deny it . I mean does anyone believe that? Maybe the men they are with ? seriously I’ve just had enough. No one I can recall has just come out and admit it. That would be refreshing. Diet and exercise helps but can only get you so far. What are they afraid of

      • Bridget says:

Of course she’s not going to do more Botox… because she’s going to get another facelift instead.

      • Alana says:

YAASSS. I mean she strategically not talk about the obvious but she wants to sell book about natural beauty. This is BS. why don’t you include your plastic surgeons ( plural) numbers in back of the book too then. I am annoyed that they act like this is just exercise and diet. No I have never seen a woman That is fit and toned/skinny past 40 that has face remotely like that and its natural. To people that defend her that she was talking about botox only… well having the people who ask you make sure not ask about your facelift that is wrong. Also the very few women that may look similar at that age I bet they didn’t have a body like that. The fuller and taut face is naturally either for younger women or larger older ones

      • Belle says:

Well the body part is definitely achievable with healthy eating and exercise, and it will help your face age more gracefully … but it’s not going to lift your eyebrows half an inch and magically fill in lines!

I’m all for fighting the aging process with clean eating and working out – but I wish celebs would cut the crap that that’s all they do. How hard is it to just be honest & admit to having work done?

    • Carol says:

She’s was on the Oprah show a few years ago and said she gets stuff done by her dermatologist – probably stuff like lasers and maybe a little filler. But I don’t think she had anything else done. My mom had a wrinkle-free face up to her 60s and people consistently thought she had stuff done but she didn’t. Now she does botox. Looks weird. I think its genetic thing. To bad my dad looks like a shar pei.

      • Chloe says:

Yeah, I think genetics help too. I’m 50 and I have a couple tiny wrinkles under my eyes, but that’s it. (And you can only see them when my glasses are off so…yay for bad eyesight? lol)

      • Bridget says:

She’s had a lot of work done over the years, and her face has really changed over time. It isn’t just that she’s aging well, it’s that her face is pulled absurdly tight.

      • Jayna says:

She had a facelift. It was so obvious and made her face too tight for someone her age at the time. She looked good before,.

  4. Size Does Matter says:

Are we sure that’s not Olivia Newton John in the most recent pics? Goodbye to Sandra Dee!

  5. Yazzie says:

Ques: “why you always lyin, why always lyin, mhhomygod, why you alway lyin!”

  6. Nancy says:

She still looks like a typical blonde California girl. Good for her. She’s had a rough life with that horrible skiing accident, I think losing a fiancĂ© and that piece of garbage she married last. I think she has four or five marriages under her belt. Personally, Billy Joel was my fav….she should have stayed with him. Uptown Girl

  7. Tiffany says:

I know the pressures women have it regards to their physical features but….if I was a plastic surgeon or dermatologist and I do damn good work like Christie’s, I would want people to know my work.

Now Kenny Rogers and Mickey Roarke’s surgeons, I would check to see of their degree is on the back of a take out menu.

  8. Jib says:

Please…..her eyes were done and she was unrecognizable for a while. Shades of Gisele.

  9. ya says:

I think she’s told everyone that she’s had multiple facelifts right? Didn’t she have a facelift the same day as her daughter had the nose job?

I’m not sure if she’s trying to hide anything really – you can’t have a body like that at her age without strict diet and exercise.

  10. Sea Dragon says:

Maybe she chose her words carefully and doesn’t use botox on her *forehead* anymore but as for the rest of her face, it’s open season.
Do people have facelifts anymore? That seems so last century.

    • antipodean says:

Absolutely. Does she REALLY think she’s fooling anyone but herself? Makes me happy that I have always been plain, and my looks have never been my meal ticket. These ladies must live in fear of being unattractive, or losing their looks most of their lives. I just don’t have enough energy for that.

    • mollie says:

I think this too. I don’t use botox on my forehead either, but I do get it as an eye lift on the corner of my eyes and I think she does, too.

  11. Twinkle says:

She’s so fake in physical appearance and her personality.

  12. Tammy says:

I saw her on Access Hollywood where she was asked what is her secret to looking young and whether she had Botox. She answered about the Botox and said that one of the things she does she has been doing for 30 days, she exfoliates every day and wears a night cream at night. At no point was she asked, have you had a facelift or other procedures. She was asked if she had used Botox. She also said how you eat and exercise play a tremendous role in how you feel or look… not that it’s the only reason why she looks good but that it helps. Please stop putting words into her mouth here. I don’t doubt she has procedures done but she never denied that. She answered questions she was asked!

My grandmother was 81 years old when she passed away and she never looked her age. When she was 75 she looked maybe 50 years old. After she had a stroke at 78, she still didn’t look she was close to 60 much less 80.. my grandmother never smoked and rarely drink… both are big factors in making you look older.

  13. Anna says:

I’ll believe that she doesn’t do botox … but she has clearly had a (very good) face lift. (Or two.)

  14. parissucksliterally says:

Oh, please. Christy you look amazing – but saying you haven’t had any help/work done makes you a Kardashian.

  15. JP says:

She looks amazing and it definitely is not all due to clean eating, exercising and smiling. She’s had many invasive/noninvasive procedures and most likely human growth hormone (HGH) which in some people can make you look younger by 30 years. Suzanne Somers admitted to using HGH, however, she may have stopped. Suzanne also promoted clean eating and exercising.

Bottom line, it’s a rip off to write a beauty book and not reveal the real truth. Or use the “sin of omission” to let people think you did not use professional procedures to attain your beauty. I’m only saying this when a celeb writes a beauty book.

  16. lrm says:

She looks good, procedures or not. And she was great on Parks and Rec; that hilarious story arc that featured her as Gerry’s wife was awesome.

  17. Jib says:

Personally, I think she’s sad. She was on some infomercial about two or three years ago, and her eyes were so weird, I didn’t even recognize her. Must have been right after eye surgery before it settled. But does anyone else see a kind of scary Joker face when they see her?? Why can’t she be a bit natural, like Meryl or Helen?? I’m sure they have both had work done, but they don’t look like they are trying to look 30 years old.

    Sad.

  18. Elle says:

She’s obviously had some surgery done, but I would imagine as well she does all the fancy lasers and peels and things like that which I am sure would help.

But I think she looks pretty damn good! To be fair I don’t remember Christie Brinkley looking another way so maybe her changes are less obvious. But I like her hair/makeup looks and she dresses really nicely too. Good for her I guess haha

  19. Denise says:

Fillers in the cheeks, it’s so obvious and I would love her for admitting she wants to keep the volume she’s known for. But ok, clean living!

  20. KelT says:

Ugh. The last pics with all the stripper makeup and hair are awful. She looks much better when she’s more natural. I wish she’d just relax and be herself at this age. There’s no pride in looking young if you’re getting artificial help to accomplish it.

I’ve always thought John Mellencamp was handsome in a bad boy, crusty kind of way, but this just doesn’t match with the persona she puts on. It’s a curious coupling. Goes to show you just never know.

    • JP says:

What a great quote “there’s no pride in looking young if you’re getting artificial help to accomplish it.” Thanks! Or, at least, acknowledge your artificial help if you are writing and charging money for a beauty book.
