When Miley Cyrus is not getting her bewbs out and posing provocatively for the umpteenth time, she’s spending time with her menagerie of animals. This is a really nice side of Miley, you can tell she adores her pets and that animal welfare is a genuine concern of hers. I wish she would focus more on her passions and the things she truly cares about rather than just trying to shock us time and again. It would be more shocking if she put it away and talked about causes, which she’s tried to do occasionally, I should give her credit.
Anyway Miley and her ex boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth, are still sort-of close and they still say nice things about each other to the press. I wouldn’t be surprised if they got back together at some point, although that’s probably a total mom thing to say. (“Why can’t those sweet kids just work it out?”)
Apparently Miley saw this sweet dog at a joint store and pet rescue center in LA called Wylders and kept sending Liam pictures of the dog. Liam went to visit the pup and took her home! Here’s a cute photo. Us Magazine reports that he’s calling her “Dora” because “Dora the Explorer” is his niece and nephews’ favorite show.
That dog’s face is killing me. I could swear she’s older, she’s just got a serious face like she’s seen some sh*t, but the shelter instagrammed that she’s just six months old. You can see why Miley thought of her for Liam, she kind of looks like Liam right? I don’t mean in that in a rude way at all, she’s just tall and lanky and you want to love on her. Look at this face!
Miley also helped her friend, Wayne Coyne of the Flaming Lips, give a dog a forever home too. Miley is like a matchmaker for dogs and people. E! Online writes that this dog, below, is named Yogi, and that he’ll live with Wayne but that Miley is sharing him or something. I don’t get how that works. They also let us know that Miley has at least three dogs (other than Yogi), one whom she adopted earlier this month, a cat and a pig. The way that’s worded I get the impression that E! is hedging because they’re not sure exactly how many pets Miley has.
Selma Blair recently adopted a dog from the same store too.
These people aren’t famous but this schnauzer should be.

So cute! But I hope Miley doesn’t adopt more, her pack is already not working out. Two of her dogs died (okay, one was probably not her fault) is all I’m saying.
Understanding pack dynamics is a big part of being a responsible pet owner, and whilst I don’t doubt that Miley’s heart is in the right place, introducing animal after animal to a home can do more harm than good.
At some point you have to give yourself a kick up the butt and remember that you can’t take every pup home.

Miley has 5 dogs (one recently adopted about a week ago, a white Pit), 3 cats and one pig (possibly also some fish). All rescues!!
The dog above Yogi was adopted by Wayne Cote & his girlfriend Katie (Miley saw him and called Wayne). She got Liam to adopt this dog (she kept their dog Mary Jane after they split) and also another friend to adopt a third one!

I kind of miss them as a couple, even though he wasn’t super great to her. Even though Miley can grate on my last nerve, I have this sisterly love for her. And I feel like she loved him a LOT. Sigh…
Yes – they were good together in their own way. I think he at that time was just immature, he seems to have grown up a bit. You never know – once she grows up and gets past this attention seeking phase they may get back together.
I was about 16 when they did The Last Song together, so I will always hold some teenage affection for their love. I kind of hope you’re right, Betti. And I have a gut feeling that you might be. He says he really loved her, and it was obvious that she really loved him. MILIAM 4 EVA
I usually think that Liam Hemsworth is very, very pretty but he just doesn’t do it for me. That last picture of him and the dog though…wowza. The dog is awesome and he looks super cute and totally hot all at the same time.

I LOVE that these seem to be genuine adoptions of shelter animals/animals in need rather than buying a dog from a breeder and calling it an adoption (as many celebs do). good on them!

Oh! I was just on an adoption website last night. I saw the postings with flashing warnings that some posted pups were due to be euthanized if not adopted soon. I felt like crying soooo sad. Please if anyone has the room -money -and heart to rescue or foster please do. I am looking into volunteering at the shelter near me to clean and walk and play with the dogs -after seeing all those poor puppies. I’m trying to adopt but have to convince the other half. But in the mean time I def will volunteer. Ladies ??? Join me ???
