Snoop Dogg live streams pot smoking videos, says ‘blaze that sh*t up’

Snoop Dogg freely admits smoking pot, saying that it’s for medicinal purposes and that it’s perfectly legal in the state of California where he lives. He told the ladies on The View last year that he has a license to smoke pot and a medical condition that makes it necessary, but he didn’t specify which medical condition he’s alleviating by getting high.

On his live stream broadcast on UStream, posted to his Twitter, Dogg has several saved videos in which he’s smoking joints and talking about it. In one video posted on TMZ, he rolls what looks like a joint and smoked it on camera with a young friend, looking at the webcam, singing along to some reggae music and laughing. In other clipped videos on his UStream he makes more direct references to smoking pot and tells people to join him. In the one shown above called “Wake ‘n Bake” he says “If you got some chronic now’s the time to blaze that sh*t up. Obama smoked too. Make sure you’re wakin’ and bakin’. Stay Smoking.” In the videos there’s technically no way to tell that he’s smoking pot, and it could be a hand-rolled cigarette. It’s pretty obvious what it is, and he’s admitting it, but don’t cops usually say that they can’t prosecute based on videos as there’s no way to verify that people are using drugs? That’s how Kate Moss got off for that cocaine video.

Dogg has been arrested multiple times for drug possession among other reasons, so it doesn’t seem like the wisest idea to smoke a fattie and broadcast it on the Internet. TMI is in style with the celebrity crowd, though, and now that they’re all on Twitter broadcasting their mundane doings to the world they may as well let us see it too. Pot use is not a big deal to Snoop’s fans, and he sings about it in his songs, but it’s a different thing to tape it and recommend that other people smoke up. What are his TV show producers and their sponsors going to say about it? You can bet he’ll be getting some phone calls about it after TMZ’s story.

Those must be long, philosophical Twitters with lots… of… looooonnnng…. pauses….in…them…

Seriously, if they didn’t bust Kate Moss for doing rails of coke on camera, they shouldn’t be busting this rapper, especially if he’s got the licence.

I don’t see the big deal. Marijuana should be decriminalized or even legalized outright as it has been shown to have positive benefits for certain chronic (no pun intended) medical conditions. It’s also far less socially destructive than prescription medications like Oxycontin.Prohibition and the “War on Drugs” simply don’t work.

I just read yesterday of a study that showed THC kills cancer cells in brain cancer. It didn’t say it kills ALL brain cells, like alcohol, just cancer cells. If this is true, think of the numbers of people who could be helped by something that is provided naturally by God. Pharma companies can pack it up and shove it – right up their bums.

    Blaze away.

  5. Leandra says:

Big deal. Americans make such a big deal about smoking weed. 21st century and time to change the archaic thinking.

Isn’t marijuana highly carcinogenic? I thought it was even worse than cigarettes. Also, young people need to be on the ball these days, especially with the economy being in the state that it is. I don’t think it’s good advice to tell kids to light up and zone out. Snoop has already made his millions and is an adult. It’s wrong for him to promote drug use in kids (his primary audience?), just as it was wrong to call women “biyatches” in his songs (does he still do this?) Yeah, he’s a cool guy, so use the credibility to promote better things for kids to do than taking a haitus from reality. Sermon over.

I wouldn’t expect anything less out of Snoop..blaze on.

I honestly don’t understand why marijuana is still illegal when it clearly doesn’t have anywhere near the same addictive/harmful affects as alcohol and prescription drugs, and cigarettes. Most people either smoke pot occasionally or don’t care if others do. I would fully support the legalization of it and, if that were to happen, I bet people would consume less of it.

  13. Vibius says:

    Amen.

I thought he just joined a new organization that might look down on this sort of behavior.

  14. MAMA says:

I think it makes him look like a real person and everyone agrees it should be legal.Maybe Snoop is up to some good for the average pot head.We need to forcus on Linsay Lohans and her crack addiction (that girl looks like shit) Nobody is talking about that. This is stupid to talk shit about.Smoke on

  15. Courtney H says:

@j. ferber: marijuana smoke is worse than tobacco, but most people smoke significantly less marijuana than they do cigarettes. can you imagine trying to smoke a pack of joints a day? also, there are machines called vaporizers which allow you to inhale the marijuana, but without the smoke (to put it simply).

i think marijuana should be legalized, but wasn’t there a story not that long ago about snoop joining the nation of islam, which would forbid him to drink or smoke?

  16. Orangejulius says:

Hmmm. About those vaporizers…mine didn’t work at all.

  17. Snoop Dogg says:

    BLAZE THAT SH*T UP N*GGA!!
