Maybe all of the red and green hues around for Christmas inspired Lauren Conrad to make a hair color change. The former Hills star and fashion designer revealed her new red locks on a post on Instagram. The pic, posted on Saturday, shows the new redhead with her hairstylist, Kristen Ess (with matching hair color), in front of a Christmas tree. The 29-year-old captioned the photo, “Clearly, I’m obsessed with @Kristen_ess.”
Lauren is also obsessed with entertaining. Her latest book, Lauren Conrad Celebrate, hits shelves in March. In it, Lauren offers tips on throwing “a charming baby shower to a casual midsummer clambake to a festive holiday soiree.”
The red locks will look great with her present from her mother-in-law, Christmas-themed jammies. Her hubby, William Tell’s mom knows how to make Christmas fun and gives everyone matching pajamas, which they wear while opening presents! Lauren isn’t the only celeb rocking a new hair look, Hilary Duff recently debuted an edgy new bob and Iggy Azalea went hot pink.
Some gentlemen may prefer blondes, but redheads have a devoted following among the menfolk as well. What do you think of the new look? Being blonde myself, and having gone ginger in the past, I can say it’s a hard color to maintain. But, then again, I don’t have hairstylist at my beck and call for emergency touch-ups.

It would look 1000x better if her eyebrows were brown. Most natural redheads don’t have red eyebrows.
Agreed. I’m a natural redhead and my eyebrows are a light blonde/brown. I like red hair on others, but not on me. And prepare yourself for a slew of awkward, rude questions religiously.
I used to color my hair a natural shade of red, and my mom had red hair so it goes with my skin. Guys of all ages would ask me with a twinkle in their eye if I was a natural redhead. They were really asking of the carpet matches the drapes, and it always creeped me out. I had no idea there was this pervy line of questioning I’d signed up for when I colored my hair!
I usually don’t mind the questions. It usually seems like people are really interested to know if that is my actual hair color because red suits me the best. But once in awhile some pervy man (usually old enough to be my father) asks me if the carpet matches the drapes, so creepy and rude!
My sister is a natural redhead and her eyebrowes are colourless. If you look closely you can see they are there, but from far away she looks like she has no eyebrowes.
My daughter’s eyebrows are so red I swear they look hot pink sometimes. She is a hard core red head, in my 3D sonogram pics you could even tell her hair was red, it was a cooper color in the pictures.

Ever since the dark roots trend I don’t think anyone should worry about touch – ups.
Also, the idea of going red or blond and trying desperately to maintain that first color doesn’t make sense. Even if the color is lost a little after a few washes, it’s fine, you’ll just enjoy new color every month.
Clean hair is the only must have.
Not a fan of her but I like the strawberry blonde/red hair. I think it looks better than the blonde. It’s a little boring. Especially on her.
The blonde is way too harsh, so I like the red better. But she’s probably brunette, and I think that would look best on her. Nature usually, not always, but usually knows what she’s doing.

Hey! Don’t knock the matching pjs. My mom has always done that. It’s one of the things I love best about Christmas. Except for the family pic that she posts of Facebook of us in them.

I adore red hair. If I had the money, this crapshow on my head would be red. She looks good. I actually thought for a sec that her stylist was Lindsay Lohan! A healthy, alert Lindsay Lohan.
I just went from blonde to red in the last few weeks so I love her new hair. It’s not for everyone but the right shade of red can be stunning. Blonde can really wash you out this time of year. That’s why I made the switch. This color really brightens up her face.

If your blonde is THAT perfect, you don’t go red.
I don’t really care for the red but it’s not bad, I bet if she went to her natural brunette hair color it would be really pretty! Or maybe an Auburn red instead of a strawberry blonde. I think the dyed blonde hair ages her.
It looks okay enough- it just makes her look a bit more mature (as opposed to permanent HS Hills mode)
Her blonde hair was generic and boring and made her look like every other blonde Hollywood type, the red looks awesome on her.

With her green eyes I would have thought red would look lovely on her….but….it just doesn’t work as well as the blonde. I have no idea why, but visually, she just looks more stunning as a blonde. Strangely the red hair makes her look more plain. I really would have thought I’d like it on her but I’m not liking it.
