When Idris Elba won big at the SAG Awards two Sundays ago, he brought his teenage daughter Isan as his date. I didn’t think it was extremely notable at the time – he’s brought his daughter as his date to other events in the past – although I did have a moment where I wondered what was up with his girlfriend Naiyana Garth. Naiyana and Idris welcomed a son, Winston, back in 2014, and they’ve been together since 2013. As it turns out, Idris didn’t bring Naiyana because they broke up and he’s moved out of the London home they shared. Damn, bruh.
Luther star Idris Elba has reportedly split from his longtime girlfriend Naiyana Garth. The actor, 43, decided to move out of the London home he shared with the make-up artist and his son Winston, The Sun has claimed. He has now moved into a nearby apartment to remain close to his 22-month-old child.
A source tells the newspaper: ‘They’ve kept it very quiet…. It’s very sad that this has happened while Idris is experiencing the highest points of his professional career and they can’t celebrate it with each other.’
The break up comes Elba is enjoying a stellar award season, picking up gongs at the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Evening Standard Film Awards for his turn in Beast of No Nation. Garth was noticeably absent from his side at the SGAs, where the star was accompanied by his 13-year-old daughter Isan, his child with ex-wife Dormowa Sherman. Elba and Garth began dating in early 2013, with the pretty brunette soon falling pregnant.
News of their separation comes after the hunk was spotted enjoying a night out with supermodel Naomi Campbell. The handsome pair seemed to have linked up while Stateside and were pictured leaving the prestigious 1 Oak nightclub at the same time. The pair struck up a friendship in 2014 after he took part in Fashion For Relief charity event. The buddies remain supportive of each other, with Naomi taking to Twitter to publicly congratulate him on his SAG Awards win, in the midst of the Oscars’ race row. Naomi Tweeted him just last week after his SAG awards win, and said: ‘Congratulations @Idriselba you deserve your double WIN. @SAGawards.’
I really, really hope that Idris didn’t dump Naiyana for Naomi Campbell. If there has to be a breakup, I hope it was a straight-forward split with no other parties involved and then Idris started hooking up with Naomi. Not that it makes it any better. It’s still sad. Idris has a pretty dramatic private life, as he’s discussed in interviews before. Before he got with Naiyana, he was dating a woman and they welcomed a child together… except that the child wasn’t his and that’s what the paternity test revealed. So… another breakup for Idris. Sad.

And funnily enough–this happened to my uncle. He supposedly had a kid with his girlfriend, and then they broke up. He moved away, and was informally paying her child support (like child support w/out the courts involved)……..but then a year later, he wanted to make everything official, and part of that was getting a paternity test. They were supposed to meet up at the testing center or wherever to get it done–she never showed up, and he hasn’t heard from her since. Lol!

For all those who love Idris , I know someone who has worked with him on quite a few projects and he is not the nice classy guy he once was , he has gone all Hollywood diva/ full of himself, recently and lost quite a few industry friends and admirers in the UK over the past year or two. There is speculation about drug use, to have changed his personality so much so quickly.
Now that makes sense. Naomi is a known drug user and he has found himself a hot girlfriend with similar interests.
