Miranda Kerr is so mad that Orlando Bloom introduced their son to Katy Perry

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom maybe/probably hooked up the night of the Golden Globes back in January. Sources claimed that Katy seemed to be playing hard to get, but Orlando was really, really into it and he was following her around like a puppy. Since then, there have been sightings of Orly and Katy and my guess is that they’re a thing now and she’s completely thrown over John Mayer (God, she has the worst taste in men). Whatever is happening between Katy and Orly is pretty recent though – I mean, this is barely a month old. So Orlando’s ex, Miranda Kerr, was really, really upset when Orlando introduced their son Flynn to Katy.

Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom have a rule when it comes to introducing their five-year-old son Flynn to their significant others: “We have to know the person for six months,” Kerr explained. So when Orlando, 39, invited Katy Perry to tag along with him and his son to a birthday party for Robert Downey Jr’s son in Malibu on Feb. 6 – less than four weeks after they were first linked – Miranda was understandably upset with Bloom and Perry.

“Miranda went off on Orlando for being so inconsiderate,” says the source. “Those photos of him and Katy playing happy family with Flynn broke her heart, but Orlando said she was being dramatic.” And perhaps a bit jealous. “Miranda’s always had this hold over Orlando, even after they split. She would never admit it, but she feels very threatened by Katy. Orlando has fallen head over heels.”

[From Star Magazine, print edition]

This really did happen – you can see the photos here. Orlando drove Katy and Flynn to Malibu to attend a kid’s birthday party. My gut-level reaction is… Miranda has every right to be mad. Katy and Orlando have been acquaintances for a while, but they’ve only been romantically involved for a matter of weeks, and he’s already arranging playdates with Katy and Flynn? How much sh-t would a woman get if she introduced her kid to the guy she’s been banging for just a few weeks?

Last thing, if you want to laugh over a bizarrely intricate story about Katy Perry, read this. Katy is a “mean girl,” so says Ryn Weaver in what is a Kanye-level Twitter rant.

Star mag is NOT a reliable source

Wendy Williams is on my TV (not by choice, it’s a long story) and she was going OFF about this today. I’m not a fan of her OR Katy OR Orly, but the ranting was funny.

Weird, because she puts down Brandi Glanville, and backs up Leann Rimes, and Leann was in Brandi’s kids’ lives before there was even a divorce. Leann was at their soccer games, taking them on vacations, showing up at their school, etc, and their parents were still married and their dad had just moved out. She really cherry picks her facts. Kids should have time to process their parents’ separation and they should not have to meet a romantic possibility several weeks in. Orlando was wrong. Though I wonder if Miranda has stuck to it as well.

I speak as a parent on this one. I would be angry as well if my ex introduced his very early girlfriend to our children. It’s confusing. They new person maybe lovely and meshes well the the kids. But I feel that it’s chaotic and traumatizing if there’s a revolving door of women.

  4. Pinky says:

I agree Miranda can be upset….

But I want Katy and Orly to keep on bangin’. They’re a much better match than their prior hookups. And Miranda is a twerp.

So not pregnant judging by those photos?

    • lucy2 says:

Wow, those other photos were so weirdly unflattering then. I don’t usually like to speculate on whether a celeb is pregnant or not, but those photos, I thought for sure she was. Maybe she was just in a really awkward pose/dress combo.

  6. jamie says:

Idk I disagree. I have a 4 year old and her father and I split when she was 2, and we are in great coparenting terms even if We don’t see eye to eye on other things.

We are allowed to have friends of the opposite sex, surprise, that we can bring to things like kids parties or whatever. The issue is if that person is introduced as a significant other. I can see that being confusing but we don’t isolate our daughter from the fact we have lives. And friends we like to spend time with who may be of the opposite gender.

    • TQB says:

Really good point. It entirely depends on HOW she was introduced – like, did she wander out of daddy’s room in the morning wearing his shirt and made him pancakes? Or did they pick her up on the way to the party as just a pal?

      • HollyG says:

Yes, and also…Katy Perry is a famous pop star. Possibly the introduction was something that Orlando though the little boy would get a kick out of. In contrast, I doubt Flynn knows what Snapchat is.

      • Caz says:

Agree with you – taking Katy Perry as a friend to a party would have been awesome!

Miranda is just jealous. She is allowed various hookups but Orlando isn’t allowed a proper relationship.

i like Orlando & Katy as a couple.

    • Leah says:

      I am with Kerr here.
Speaking as a child of divorce, you’d be surprised what kids pick up. Most people act differently with new partners then friends and kids will notice even if you don’t think they do. Generally I don’t think its a good idea to introduce people you have only just met. It gets confusing if this keeps happening.

    • Sunshine says:

I agree. It all depends how she was introduced which we don’t know but observers, (who knows how reliable they are?) say they kept their hands to themselves.
A six month rule is pretty unworkable I think. A lot can happen in six months… 3 weeks on the other hand is a bit on the “too soon” side.
However reports from her “friends” said Miranda had her son calling her 25 yr old billionaire “Daddy” weeks after meeting him. That’s much worse than bringing a girlfriend to a kids party in my book and should never happen. If that’s true she doesn’t get to throw stones.
I knew these guys “amicable Exs” deal was a load of rubbish!

      • Becky says:

I was about to ask, how long has she been with this billionaire bf, has it been 6 months?

      • Alex says:

Exactly. I was going to say the same thing…because I heard the same story about the billionaire being pushed as his new dad. If Katy and Orlando went to the party and she was just a friend then I have no issues. If she’s staying over and getting handsy with dad in front of Flynn then yes its an issue

    • lucy2 says:

I agree it depends on the situation. A casual introduction is very different than “here’s my new girlfriend.”
If it was done wrong, then Miranda has a right to be upset, but as others have pointed out, she needs to follow her own rules too.

  7. Dani says:

Sorry, but didn’t she introduce her rando billionaire bf to her son as soon as she could? She really has no right to point her fingers, being the media darling that she is. I cant stand either of them, but she’s not as innocent as she claims to be. Also, she drags her son along to most of her paparazzi outings with her new boy toy, trying to play happy family, and that’s okay?

  8. Bridget says:

Every time I see pics of Orlando I’m amazed at how badly he aged. He just looks skeevy now.

    • JenniferJustice says:

yeah. he and Jude Law both used to be really pretty men, but now, they’re both haggard and icky-looking. Oddly disappointing.

      • Bridget says:

Jude Law has always seemed like he’s actively working against his looks, though. Orlando Bloom never really had anything else going for him.

  9. Pandy says:

They were at a party. Not like he introduced her as a new mommy. Probably my friend we are giving a drive to. Wondering how she explains her pregnancy.

  10. kri says:

HAHAHHAHAA!!!! Whatever. Miranda makes KP look like a genius.

  11. aurelia says:

I would say Katy Perry has been orlandos radar for ages. She has probably had cutsey phone chats with Flynn. So it probably wasn’t that bigger deal taking her to the party with them.

I will eat my hat if mirandi isn’t preggy. She didn’t get the Krupp diamond off her skinny geeky dude after a year so is making things happen.

  12. Nilber says:

The supposed deal was that they had agreed to wait to introduce anyone to their son until they had been with that person for 6 months. The Katy Perry situation “violated” that. WW agreed she would be upset. (I can’t believe I’m admitting I know all this.) The LeAnn/Eddie/Brandi situation… the kids were losing from the get on that one. I feel for Brandi. WW usually takes her side although
on occasion has given LeAnn a sorta pass and thrown Eddie under the bus.

  13. Dani L says:

I don’t like Miranda, but I’m with her on this one. If this is actually true, that is.

  14. Mango says:

Orlando is a nice guy but such a bad actor and famew#### for women for famous than himself.

  15. Portugal the Stan says:

One thing that has always gotten me is the ‘single moms’. The ones that have a revolving door of boyfriends and always introduce them way too soon and the relationship crumbles. Like here is your new daddy. No, wait be dumped me. I’ve seen this with soooo many single moms and it is one of the most disgusting things I have seen. It seems so selfish and immature. I am a mother and I also remembering what it was like as a child. I had stable stepparents. I CANNOT imagine what the kid of a single parent that behaves that way must feel. I am a mother and have thought about this issue many times before. If anything ever happened to my husband, I would be a loving parent to my child and enjoy a personal life in which my child is not involved. I don’t understand why the child needs to be introduced to your lovers at all. Only at a time when I was prepared to marry someone else, would I introduce that person to my child. My child is more important than my need for a partner. It just seems pathetic sometimes. I am not sure if these women are insecure, immature, selfish, looking for a provider or a combination of everything.

  16. Veronica says:

If they have an agreement, it is wrong for him to violate it. On a personal level, though…I’m fine with introduction earlier on if it’s done gently, like saying she’s “a friend.” Introducing them as a potential partner, however, shouldn’t be done until several months into the dating process.

  17. Goodnight says:

Why does everyone assume he introduced her to Flynn as a girlfriend? What’s wrong with an adult introducing another adult to their children? I can understand if they’re old enough to understand they’re banging, but if the child is too young to understand that dynamic why is it a problem? It’s not as if he was saying ‘Hey son, meet your new mummy’.

I really don’t see any issue if they’re introduced as a friend of the parent and there’s nothing romantic/sexual done in front of the child. Introducing them as a romantic partner is a different story, of course, and if they really do have an agreement they should adhere to it. Can’t help but wonder if Miranda takes Flynn around those billionaires she likes so much though, or if it only applies if Orlando is dating someone.

  18. Loca says:

Maybe Miranda should stop posing nude all the time. I’m sure it bothers her that her ex got Katy Perry. He should wait however hopefully she is doing the same.

  19. Wopz says:

WHATEVER Miranda. You are the one calling the papz on your own son. You’re the one who hooked up with Bieber. Shut up.

  20. fiona says:

I just think Katy can do so much better than a washed up orlando with a kid. Also when his ex girlfriend is miranda kerr I would feel like a last resort. Orlando’s ex girlfriends were all so skinny with a model like figure. While I personally prefer Katy’s figure, I would still feel crap about it. He definitely had a type before Katy. I can’t help but feel like he’s attracted to her fame and success more than her.

Not that John Mayer or Russell were any better.
