Henry Cavill brought his 19-year-old girlfriend to LA, maybe to be his Oscar date

148627PCN_Henry10

Here are some photos of Henry Cavill arriving in LA. With his 19-year-old girlfriend, Tara King. Henry and Tara have been dating since last fall. She’s a university freshman, so she’s truly spent her first year of college constantly taking time off so that she can travel the world with Cavill. I would imagine she’s skipping a few more classes right now as well. Sidenote: does Cavill remind anyone else of Bill Hader in these photos?

Cavill is in big-time promotional mode for 2 Fast 2 Batfleck (which comes out next month), so he’ll be presenting at the Oscars. And seeing Tara with him… my God, is his 19-year-old coed girlfriend going to be his date to the Oscars? I take everything back I’ve ever said about the inappropriateness of this couple. When I was 19, I would have LOVED to have gone to the Oscars as a movie star’s date. Still, it must be overwhelming for her. And is Henry going to, like, introduce her to people? “This is my girlfriend, Tara, she’s a freshman in college.” Well, Leonardo DiCaprio will be interested in meeting her.

Since we haven’t offered up an updated list of presenters, here are some of the people expected to come out just for the $232K gift bag:

Sacha Baron Cohen, Morgan Freeman, John Legend. J.J. Abrams, Henry Cavill, Dave Grohl, Steve Carell, Priyanka Chopra, Benicio del Toro, Tina Fey, Whoopi Goldberg, Ryan Gosling, Kevin Hart, Quincy Jones, Lady Gaga, Byung-hun Lee, Jared Leto, Julianne Moore, Olivia Munn, Margot Robbie, Jason Segel, Andy Serkis, J.K. Simmons, Sam Smith, Charlize Theron, Jacob Tremblay, Kerry Washington, The Weeknd, Pharrell Williams, Reese Witherspoon, Patricia Arquette, Abraham Attah, Cate Blanchett, Emily Blunt, Louis C.K., Common, Russell Crowe, Chris Evans, Jennifer Garner, Louis Gossett, Jr., Michael B. Jordan, Rachel McAdams, Dev Patel, Eddie Redmayne, Daisy Ridley, Sarah Silverman, and Sofia Vergara.

Hm…no Kate Hudson? No Jennifer Lopez? But they ALWAYS come out to present! But at least we’ll get Charlize… and Kerry Washington… and Emily Blunt, I guess. I need more fashion girls, quite honestly.

Good for him. He is not hiding her. He is treating her with respect.

    • Hudson Girl says:

He is buying her? What is wrong with him? Look at the purse he bought her.
He is wacked, dating a teenager.

      • McLori says:

She comes from a money’d family, she probably bought the purse with her parents money. I think she in it for the fame.

      • Dani says:

That’s a $20k purse. You have to be super mega rich to allow your 19 year old to buy a $20k purse in a fugly color she’ll grow out of within a few months.

      • AG-UK says:

Well tons of people have that bag (knock offs) she would have needed to be on the waiting list when she was taking her GCSE’s for the real thing. Awful colour but my real question WHAT is that jumper thing he’s wearing??? Maybe supporting England rugby??’

      • SpankFD says:

Agreed. Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. How can these two overcome the fundamental power imbalance between a college frosh and a freakin’ 30-something movie star?

    • ell says:

lmao at this comment. he’s dating a barely legal girl, but you praise him for not hiding her??? what does it even mean?

      • Farhi says:

“what does it even mean? ”

Too many men do that as one night stands and next day they don’t even know the girl. Or they date them on a side without going public. You don’t criticize them because you don’t know about it, they don’t go public with it.

He sees her as a person. He is not hiding her. He stands by his choice. She is not disposable to him. To me that is a good thing, not a bad thing.

I went to college at 16, lived in a dorm with everybody else. It was normal . At 19 I was completely in control of my life and my choices, I was in the 3rd year of university studies. In the US people (I can’t call them kids) stay at school until 18, maybe that makes a different in perception.

      • What was that says:

In the UK 16 is the legal age for consent ..18 to vote and marry..
Not saying questions over age gap..just know she isn’t barely legal per UK law

      • ell says:

i can’t. women also have one night stands and DON’T WANT TO KNOW THE GUY. women also date men on a side and have no interest in going public. can we stop with the assumption that women want a serious relationship and men don’t? it’s 2016.

as for him respecting her, if he really respected her he probably wouldn’t date her, since there’s a massive imbalance between a 19 year old teen ager and and a 33 year old rich actor. he also would encourage her to pursue her education, instead of being his hanger on. that’s what i call respect, flaunting your squeeze has nothing do to with respect.

re the legal thing: i’m from the uk, so i know. it doesn’t change anything, at 19 you’re a teen ager, and at 33 an adult. his stans giving him a pass over this are so annoying. he’s gross.

      • Farhi says:

“i can’t. women also have one night stands and DON’T WANT TO KNOW THE GUY”

Not true at all in my experience. Many go in hoping for a relationship and end up being a one night stand.

” he also would encourage her to pursue her education, instead of being his hanger on”

How do you know it is not her choice? She is an adult from a family, which is not struggling , as I understand. It is not like she has to be with him for money. If she wanted to study she could. She is not a child. Her choices are her own. Some people have to make mistakes before they learn. They won’t listen. Actually, make that most people.

      • ell says:

you’re clearly from an older generation. and i don’t mean this as an insult, just a fact you have no idea how women behave nowadays. all of my female friends have ons or had ons at one point or another, sometimes they liked the guy and wanted to see him again, many times they didn’t care and just wanted to enjoy that one time. things have changed, like a lot.

again, his stans giving him a pass for dating a teen are beyond.

      • Esther says:

LOL read a bit about hook up culture, Farhi and you’ll find out that its mainly women who are not interested in commitment. nowadays we have more important things to do than getting tied down to a man. its empowering to have a bunch of hotties reeady to go when you call them and not bothering you with their fragile egos when you are working on your future.
women get pretty much nothing out of relationships, men profit greatly, primarily from marriage.
times have changed you better get used to it.

      • Farhi says:

“nowadays we have more important things to do than getting tied down to a man.”

Being in a relationship is about seeing each other as a person not just a body, not about being tied to a man. I am definitely not a stay at home housewife material but I was never was interested in one night hook-ups. And I am not that old )). Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

      • Illyra says:

Farhi, I just wanted to say that I like your posts.

      • Farhi says:

        Thank you, Illyra ))

    • saywhat says:

How is taking her from her studies respecting her. Not that she cares she’s getting all the perks and she’s loving it. As you can see its definitely a sugar baby and sugar daddy arrangement. They separated to get to the car. He went to the car first and was waiting for her and she had to deal with the paps whilst he waited in the car like a gentleman (sarcasm on gentleman)

      • Original T.C. says:

It’s a bit uncomfortable how most of the comments assume this girl has no agency or mind of her own. She is not yet in her 20’s true but on the other hand neither is she a child.

We have 19 year old girls serving in Afghanistan right now. We have 19 year olds getting married and starting families. On the other hand we have 19 year olds who still live at home in their Barbie decorated room indulged by their parents as they find themselves. In college 19 year old girls have active sex lives and drink alcohol regularly, they aren’t children.

And no I’m not a “stan” just surprised at the disrespect and dismissive attitude aimed at this woman for dating an older guy.

      • ell says:

having a sexual life has nothing to do with dating a 33 year old super rich actor. it’s not even just the age, i’m always wary of celebs dating normal people because there’s always an imbalance, especially when we talk of very young women. this girl’s agency has nothing to do with it, because you can have agency and still being in a relationships that isn’t equal. it doesn’t make it better, and people can and will make stupid choices, especially as teens.

      • Original T.C. says:

Most Hollywood guys end up marrying younger women so there is an imbalance in 90% of relationships. She comes from a wealthy background so she’s probably more comfortable in social gatherings of the rich.

She can date a 20 year old guy who has gone through all the girls in her dorm and comes from an even higher social background but is a class A jerk, the power balance will still be off. Even in the real world rich men like doctors and lawyers are more likely to date a younger women at a lower status because they have less restriction on their time.

I guess we see it differently, you see her as a 19 year old dummy who needs to be rescued from the clutches of an evil older man. I see it as *some* older women feeling rejected that a desired man does not want to date their age group so they are striking out to shame the man and dismiss the girl as not being woman enough like them. Just my opinion based on the tone of comments.

      • ell says:

“I see it as *some* older women feeling rejected that a desired man does not want to date their age group so they are striking out to shame the man and dismiss the girl as not being woman enough like them.”

lmfao, this is hilarious. i find him gross. i don’t fancy him like at all and never have, and it makes me laugh even more because while i’m bisexual so i do fancy men, i’m generally a bit more into women and can count my male celebrity crushes on one hand, and i don’t even get to 5 fingers. so, this is pretty funny. nice try dismissing my opinion with a ridiculous argument though, and a LOT of effort for someone who’s not a stan. i’m also not “older” btw, i’m mid 20s lmao.

    • Carol says:

He’s Hollywood. There is no need to hide his teen girlfriend since older men having way younger girlfriends are a dime a dozen in Hollywood. Just look at Leo, Bradley Cooper, Chad Michael Murray, and so many behind the scene guys. I think these men just look stupid.

      • Bobafelty says:

He used to be so hot (Tudors crush). Now his personality is showing thru and I find nothing attractive. Just a gross and cliche sugar daddy.

      • Dinah says:

They’re worth having in fantasy. None of them are worth having in reality.

  2. Pinky says:

Michael B Jordan is not expected to be there. I think I read he and Coogler have a Flint protest to attend! Or am I making that up?

ETA: I’m wrong. Jordan isn’t mentioned.

  3. Yelp says:

Looks like she’s taken note that everyone was saying she looked like one of those orange tanned WAG’s so she’s switched up her look. No make up, conservative clothing. Smart move, girl is clearly playing a sharp game.

She’s been joking on her social media pages to friends that she’s pregnant as well so if she completes that goal as well she’ll be set for life.

    • popodamofo says:

Switching up her makeup look= smart. Joking about being pregnant though? That is one dumb a** imature thing to do.

    • Trixie says:

      Who jokes about being pregnant?

    • saywhat says:

She joked with friends on IG about being WAGS

    • D says:

1- If the internet is to believed (I know, I know), a “friend” at university said she was joking about taking pre-natal vitamins as well… so there’s that.

2- His brother unfollowed him on his private Instagram, so put that in your pipe and smoke it.

I’m off to go get the popcorn to watch this s.s.

  4. LAK says:

He looks so much better when he isn’t bulked up. He is one of those guys who doesn’t looked better all muscled and bulky. Lean is good. For him.

    • LAK says:

ETA: what the hell is a vampire breast lift and why do women subject themselves to such a thing?

      • Zapp Brannigan says:

A vampire breast lift? I am guessing Gary Oldman dresses in his full Dracula outfit comes around to your house and hoiks them up for you. I may not be 100% scientifically accurate in that but I am fairly close.

      • Amelia says:

If that’s a vampire breast lift, sign me up.
Gary Oldman can work his magic with my girls anytime he likes.

      • swak says:

Looked it up. Here is what I found: “For the breast lift, in no more than 15 minutes (and for no less than $1,800), the good doctor draws patients’ blood, extracts platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from their blood, and then injects it back into their breasts.” Kim K made vampire facials popular.

      • Zapp Brannigan says:

Swak I would prefer the Gary Oldman special.

      • LAK says:

Zapp/Amelia: I’ll take your version. Gary Oldman as Dracula can vampire breast lift me anytime!!!!

….but seriously, how mysogynist is the Oscar goody bag that it contains a vampire breast lift? And do the men get a vampire ball lift? For their sagging balls?

    • Amide says:

      @LAK – Yeah he does

    • swak says:

@Zapp & Amelia – I’ll take the Gary Oldman special also. I hate needles so much that there is no way I would first have a needle stuck in me to get my blood, much less have it redistributed somewhere else with more needles!

  5. littlemissnaughty says:

I’m completely overwhelmed by the contents of that gift bag … WTF are “Tribute video services ($125)”??? I’ll take that chapstick though. At least I know what it is. Half of this expensive stuff sounds completely foreign to me. God, I’m such a peasant.

That college girl must be super excited and nervous. Honestly, I wouldn’t go with him. Not at that age, I was a mess at 19. Is this a celeb thing, btw? The barely legal girlfriends? My friends are in their 30s and none of the guys (the ones who are still single) are trying to date teenagers or even girls in their early 20s. I don’t think it occurs to them, to be honest. … Frankly, I don’t know where they would meet them. Our club days are over.

    • anon33 says:

All this talk of men only wanting younger girls is not really based in my reality either. I don’t see that where I live or with my social circle at all-just age-appropriate couples. *shrug*

  6. Mia4s says:

    That….hair…WTF?!

I know he buzzed it for a role but, well, he should never do that again.

The presenter list is not bad. You can tell the Oscars are on ABC (hence Washington and Vegara). Surprisingly low on mocktresses!

  7. wow says:

Good for them. I hope they have a lovely time.

  8. swak says:

Why are we not talking about the age gap here? He’s 32 and she’s 19. Yes she’s legal but that is still a big age difference.

    • kai says:

Huh? Everybody’s talking about the age difference?!

    • Naya says:

You know what else people should talking more about? Her school work. I completed my degree in the UK and this period in the school calender was insane with tests and deadlines. Wasnt their last vacation afew weeks ago during her reading week? Seriously, unless she is hiring one of these online essay companies to do her assignments for her, how is she coping? The age thing bugs me but the fact that a young woman is probably deprioritising her education for a man who is himself set for life is very disturbing.

      • V4Real says:

And it’s going to be ashamed when he dumps her and move and she finds herself behind in her studies or no desire to continue her education. Luckily she will have daddy’s money to fall back on.

I could be wrong but I just don’t see him in it for the long haul.

      • Swak says:

        Yes, that discussion also.

  9. saywhat says:

If he’s dating an 18 year old, it’s because that’s where his own emotional maturity and intellect is at. Henry stating she’s “mature” is just a denial of his own immaturity and stupidity. She’s not mature when she skips Uni whenever she likes to travel with him. Someone else who is more deserving should take her place at Uni if she is going to be like that. People miss out on Uni spots because of people like her. She also jokes about being pregnant and wags with friends. How is that mature. She’s probably wearing glasses to make her look older so no one will notice. She’s not even legal to drink in the US but bet she will

    • Alex says:

Right? I know girls mature faster than guys but come ON even I wasn’t mature enough for a person with a regular job and adult life let alone a famous one

    • V4Real says:

Also if she is truly posting comments on IG claiming she’s pregnant and she’s not how in the hell is that mature?

    • Jib says:

This. My 21 year old daughter would never have missed so much college for a guy. She is very motivated and driven, as are many of her classmates. But this girl is rich, so it may be different for her: easy come, easy go. My daughter has huge loans.

  10. Sarah01 says:

Because she doesn’t have a mind of her own and whatever he tells her to do she’ll do it. She doesn’t come across as incompetent at all, for her I think she’s just having fun!
I don’t get the creepy vibe from him. I think they are happy and like spending time with each other.
When I was her age I dated a guy who was 12 years older than me, it was exactly what I needed for that time in my life.

    • CornyBlue says:

When you are young about 2 years age difference matters.

    • muffin says:

He’s hot ,famous and rich and in his early 30s. How horrible for her! /s
Some people are very good finding a victim in every situation ,and apparently he is a predator cause he’s dating an attractive young woman.

  11. Kate says:

He’s so sad and pathetic for such a gorgeous man

  12. CornyBlue says:

Lol at that Oscar presenters list. A bunch of POC giving awards of excellence to white people.

  13. Nic919 says:

Is she a beard? His gf situation has been so bizarre since he has been Superman. I don’t know what was going on when he was on the Tudors, but since they filmed Ireland and was less famous he could probably do what he wanted.

  14. kri says:

He is so..block-like.I just don’t get anything from him.

  15. Alex says:

This is so sad…even worse than Leo because at least he dated models (who had their own money) and who were older. The imbalance was a lot less striking.

I can’t tell what’s sadder that this guy can’t hold onto someone his age or that this girl may spend the best years of her life tied down to a 30 yr old.

  16. Dani says:

Is no one going to point out the fact that she’s carrying a Birkin bag??? That turquoise one runs about $20k. Either she comes from money or he’s literally buying her affection.

  17. thaisajs says:

If you’re the marketing team at Warner Brothers, aren’t you basically just hating life right now? First you have Ben Affleck doing his best to drag out the dullest divorce ever. (Plus some dubious botoxing.) Now you’ve got Henry Cavill traipsing around with a 19 year old who he once found to be “intimidating.”

    Gal, you’re their only hope!

  18. Guest says:

    He’s sleazy and gross.

  19. Robin says:

Where’s the “service dog” he usually takes on planes?

  20. ReineDidon says:

From ALL the possibilities that an actor traveling the world has, he picks a 19 years old???
He’s making the Tyga – Kylie situation look acceptable.

  21. lilygirl says:

While Henry’s decision to date Tara is questionable, why are you acting like she has no right to take her own decisions? She’s most likely having the time of her life and apparently, she can afford to start her life over whenever she feels like it. I doubt her family is worried. I can think of far worse fates for a young girl than having a fling with a rich and handsome star for some time.

  22. lane says:

    is he not gay ??

  23. Patty says:

The only thing I’m surprised by is that she is rather plain looking. I just figured he’d go for generic “bombshell”.

  24. Jessica says:

Munn is going to be a presenter? ARE YOU F@#$ING KIDDING ME?????? How the f@%k did she manage that??? Since the acting awards this year promised to be one of the most irritating in recent memory ( other than Brie Larson), I was only going to watch Chris Rock’s opening monologue and the In Memoriam for Alan Rickman. I’m not watching any of it now. I can’t believe this tacky nobody somehow wormed her way into the OSCARS for f&%k’s sake. She has absolutely no business being there. If this is really true and not just a bad joke, I guess the only thing I can hope for is that she embarrasses herself in a really spectacular way. Fingers and toes crossed.

  25. amberj says:

Saddest closet-case in showbiz. Hope it’s worth it, Henry!
