Around Christmas and the New Year, there was a lot of speculation about Calvin Harris and Taylor Swift. Rumors had them either near a breakup or near an engagement. Some of us (me!) even theorized that Swifty would debut an engagement ring at the Grammys. But then Kanye West’s tantrums stole Swifty’s thunder, and the story became “how did Taylor react to Kanye?” rather than “Swifty might be engaged!” It didn’t help that Calvin Harris did not come to the Grammys with Swifty, although he did party with her afterwards.
So, it’s interesting to note that Taylor and Calvin have been together for a full year. And despite what the tabloids say, the relationship has been refreshingly free of drama. They got together, we knew it soon after, they didn’t avoid being photographed together and they managed to show their love on social media without being annoying about it. No one got dumped over the phone, and it seems like they are really together, as in they spend a lot of time together and they’ve met each other’s families and all of that. And after a year… there still isn’t an engagement. But there is a cake and a special one-year-anniversary present.
Calvin shared a Snapchat of the (homemade?) cake for their one-year anniversary. I wonder if Taylor baked it?

And Taylor IG’d a photo of the yellow-gold locket that Calvin gave her for their anniversary.
Can I admit that I like this? While the locket isn’t my style, I think it’s very much Swifty’s style, and I love that Calvin knew her well enough to give her that locket as a present. And I love that she baked him a cake. So… yeah, I’m still enjoying them. If and when they break up, it will be epic, but for now… I’m totally rooting for an engagement. Maybe later this year? Maybe on their two-year anniversary?

I can forgive her. She is young. He is a grown man (32?). The TWEE on this/them/HIM. Barf. He practically has to marry her now. I didn’t grow up with the whole life on social media thing either.
ETA – on our two year anniversary I told my now husband, “I’m not getting any younger. Are we gonna get married because I’m not wasting my time with someone who isn’t in this.” I got lucky in that he replied with, “The ring is hidden somewhere in the apartment.”
All this love makes for a great next album… No more breakup songs ..for a bit anyway. I like then together. I will give the 3-5 yrs

Lol. I was thinking the same thing, breakup songs are her bread and butter. I don’t think she’s ever had a year long relationship before, except maybe with her cats.

She’s very young. And has she had any other long term or really serious relationship? Why all the push for an engagement?
Completely – especially considering that for the majority of this year she was on her 1989 tour, and they might not actually have spent *that* much time physically together, let alone experienced the day-to-day of living together that marriage would entail.
She is 26 per Wikipedia, so she isn’t too young to get engaged or married. I think it’s just that she sometimes acts like she is younger than that.
I think she appears older in her looks, not her actions. With that haircut, all she needs is mom jeans and nobody would recognize her at Target.

This relationship is so obviously PR, so it’s crazy to me that some people actually believe this is real. I don’t mind Taylor (sometimes), but come on.
Also, two things: Taylor, your hair in that snapchat. Girl, what is that mess. Hair that short cannot be poofed out like that. Also, that locket is hideous. It’s too big. It looks like costume jewelry.

Yes pr and I’m sure it’s *almost* over. She didn’t bring him as a date at any of the recent big events. If things were good, of course she would have. They can now say they passed the 1 year bump.
I think the locket is cute but I have to say I’m SHOCKED they are still dating. They come off pretty chemistry-less to me…

Calvin was with Rita Ora for over a year–until she supposedly cheated on him. I recall Calvin refusing to allow Rita perform the single he produced for her. Huge-public fallout.
I hope this relationship is genuine, but somehow, i have lingering doubts. Perhaps this love affair was mapped out in the Boardroom at Big Machine Records with Taylor’s Father overseeing the negotiations.

What is this trend of celebs dating their look-alikes? Swifty -n-Cal, The Batch and Sophie, and Derek Jeter and his Hannah doll? It’s weird. Well, in any case all the happy heart shaped rainbows to the Swift/Harris team.

“They spend a lot of time together”. Really? She spent most of the year on tour and hes in the studio in LA and does his weekly gigs in Las Vegas. I get the impression this is very much a showbiz long distance kind of thing. I think theres an element where this relationship is good for both their images too.
I think it’s odd that in most pictures of them walking, it seems that he is in front of her (dragging her). It’s not arm around your lady, it feels like “Hurry Up!!”
