Nothing about Idris and his OBE?

    • Snazzy says:

Really? What? Yes, we need more info on this stat!

      • lilacflowers says:

He tweeted a picture of himself this morning; calling today “OBE day.” He looked fantastic. Of course, Idris always looks fantastic but even more so. And there are pictures of him with his mom.

      • Snazzy says:

        Going to Twitter now 🙂

      • TotallyBiased says:

Plus the British Monarchy account tweeted a nice reply, referring to the investiture.

    • Mrs.Krabapple says:

Every time I heard Jada Smith talk about how Will Smith was snubbed for an Oscar, all I could think was, “No, Idris Elba was snubbed, and Benecio Del Toro was snubbed. Will wasn’t ever in the running.”

    • Tash says:

Ah yes, he looked dashing! And his adorable mum needs to receive the OBE honor as well for birthing him.

    • Yup, Me says:

I had to go look that one up. I was all Idris Elba had an Out of Body Experience?!

    • Magnoliarose says:

Yay! My secret bf neglected to tell me he was being honored today but I’m sure he’s just saving it for some sexy pillow talk.

  2. Mrs.Krabapple says:

I absolutely believe her HAPPIEST moment in life was when she gave birth to her daughter. But I never understood why anyone calls procreating an “accomplishment” — um, it’s not really a “task” that you “do well” at, is it? It’s a joy and a responsibility, but is it an “accomplishment”? Not that this applies to Beyonce, but I think for too many young girls, having a baby IS seen as an “accomplishment” and just about the only thing in life that they can get attention/money/notoriety for, and that’s just sad. I’m in a bad mood today.

    • Gisy says:

she set lots of goals for herself and said she would like to have a baby by 30. Then she went out there and worked her butt off and excelled greatly and her career and had that baby she wanted too. I can see how, for an over achiever like her, that seemingly normal moment would go on to be her greatest achievement.
Those braids are the neatest, most well-done braids I’ve seen in my life. I probably can’t afford them

    • K37744 says:

Having the kid isn’t the hard part.

Raising them is. That’s an accomplishment.

      • Kate says:

meh not a Beyoncé fan but I do respect her career. She’s accomplished so much; she’s an icon. And I think it’s great that her greatest moment is her daughter. I think that’s sweet

        So is KIm K…..

    • thaliasghost says:

No, you are right in a way. Pregnancy and birth are amazing. Women GROW humans inside them and birth them. Whoa.

On the other hand, women are often reduced to this. The thought I had in my mind are refugee women in war zones being raped and giving birth, little girls being married off to old men giving birth. For lots of women, unfortunately, pregnancy and birth are something that happens because they are oppressed. No 11 year old in Yemen sold to an old man dying in childbirth will ever have the luxury to talk about it like this. My great grandmother was dirt poor and had 14 children. That wasn’t a conscious decision and when she was working on the field she surely didn’t see it as “accomplishment.” Putting so much emphasis on the wonder of birth and having children is an immense sign of privilege and I wish Beyonce were aware of it. For a majority children just happen.

      • Magnoliarose says:

Child brides are such a sad and woefully ignored situation as are women who can’t afford proper care and are denied choices.

But I think it’s cute she’s happy to be a mother. It isn’t for everyone but it can be rewarding if it’s your thing.

    • JenYfromTheBlok says:

So now everyone feels that Beyonce actually -did- give birth?

    • pinetree13 says:

I have kids and I fully agree. As my British friend once said to me, “Any ol’ donut can have a baby.” Seriously. Just look around at some of the people that have kids. It’s not an accomplishment. Raising a child to become a productive, happy, well-rounded Adult would be but you can’t claim that until you get there…

  3. sassy says:

Madonna, madonna, madonna…please….from a fan….quit now. You are becoming a sad joke. Wtf was that? Please, just stop now. I am not saying this to hurt you, I just don’t want you to destroy what you worked so hard for.

    • lisa2 says:

I saw tweets saying she was drunk. I think she needs to get herself together. Her relationship with Rocco is not over; just a bump in the road. And she has 2 young children that need their mother to be their in full for them. Rocco is fine. She needs to remember she is still a mother and be a mother to her other children. They don’t deserve to see her falling apart like this. People that have loved ones on a death bad are not acting this way.

grow up and put on you big girl panties or some panties and keep it moving.

    • Kate says:

      Wow. That was…painful

    • Magnoliarose says:

She needs to pull herself together and stop indulging in this self pity. She is only pushing her son further away and it feels manipulative on her part as a way to guilt him publicly.

      • Maleficent says:

That’s exactly what I think it is–self pity. She loves her son, of course, but I think it hurts/bothers her more that she’s not getting her way.

    • JenYfromTheBlok says:

I say we should all give her a break. She is fighting to keep her child, and right or wrong, this is a deep maternal instinct that defies logic. Also she is one of the few fifty something pop stars and hell will stop me from being sexy as I age. I support all that is Madge and may be alone here, particularly on this site.

The thing with Gwen.. Gavin is a horrible man for what he did with the nanny; but he is still the father of the boys. I don’t recall Gwen ever saying that Gavin was not a good parent; despite what he did to her. and am I the only one that goes WTH..when Gwen said that Blake was going through the exact same thing she was at the same time.. is she implying that Miranda was cheating on Blake.. because those words sound very strange to me. I’m surprised that she is hinting at so much more. I thought the divorce would not be messy; but it is beginning to take a different turn.

sadly I think things are going to going to get messier

    • iheartgossip says:

She is implying that she and Country Drunk were going thru divorce at the same time. All 4 involved in this satire of a story are cheaters. All of them.

  5. JFresh says:

I’m one of the ones still having a hard time believing she was ever really pregnant….

As for that London apartment being rented by Angelina and Brad, I just can’t beyond pondering what it would be like having that much money.

    • lisa2 says:

They usually live in a house when they are filming for long periods. But since there aren’t pictures I doubt the tabloids know where they are actually staying. They seem to try and find places that are private and not easy to access.
