We knew ahead of the Met Gala that Taylor Swift’s date for the evening was going to be Selena Gomez. It seemed like an uncontroversial choice – Taylor and Selena are good friends, dare I say BFFs, and Taylor has never walked a red carpet with Calvin Harris, her boyfriend of more than a year. I didn’t even worry about the state of Taylor and Calvin when the videos came out of Tom Hiddleston and Taylor dancing up a storm all over the place. But apparently there were whispers about a breakup!
After Taylor Swift attended the Met Gala solo — and engaged in an epic dance-off with actor Tom Hiddleston that went viral — fashionistas were buzzing that Swift and her DJ beau, Calvin Harris, split. Swift was also seen following the gala hanging with Hiddleston again at Up&Down in a VIP section with the band Haim.
But others insisted the “Shake It Off” singer and Harris are “definitely still together” — he’s just “not the kind of guy that goes to a lot of events.”
Yeah, Vegas DJs hate crowds.
This really got me thinking… if and when Taylor and Calvin break up, would it be this kind of quiet, did-they-or-didn’t-they thing? That’s not really her M.O., or his for that matter. His M.O. is Twitter hissy fits and shade. Her M.O. is to leak details of the split to a major media outlet, like Us Weekly or People Magazine. The fact that there’s no report in People or Us Weekly? That says to me that Taylor and Calvin are fine. And wouldn’t you know, they got pap’d together yesterday afternoon in LA – go here to see the photos. So there you go, touchy Swiftloonies and crazy Dragonflies: Tom and Taylor really were JUST dancing together. Tay and Calvin are fine.

I don’t think it was the dancing, it was recognizing that Taylor & Tom are equally talented but annoying, earnest, and seem to think they have a sex appeal that most others don’t see. They seem to match perfectly. No haterade to either, but they are both irritating despite their talent. Dorks that should dork around together.

I’m sorry for being a square but I think that dancing is very intimate and I’m only comfortable dancing with my partner or people I’ve known for a long time.
Even when I drunk dance I can’t let loose with people I don’t know.That’s why I get why people had that reaction to these two dancing the way they did.Of course it meant nothing to the two of them who’ve probably done this dozens of times with other people but to regular Janes and Johns it seems a bit much.
I’ll dance with anyone within my vicinity. Slow dancing is more intimate and reserved for friends or SO.
I dance for sport. There’s nothing remotely intimate about my dancing. It’s the opposite: it kills intimacy.

That would not sit well with me but I do have a friend and she and her husband never go out togethe. There are people in her social circle who don’t even know she is married to the guy (and they are married for 10 years). So eveyone is different. I just probably never imagined someone as public as swifty to be ok with this type of a relationship
The dancing between Hiddles and Taylor was very tame. Wouldn’t have even said friends the way they were, it was so tame. Just two people having fun.
