Tom Cruise didn’t see Suri on Father’s Day, Suri & Katie were in the Hamptons

A few weeks back, Page Six did an interesting story about how Tom Cruise really hasn’t seen his daughter Suri Cruise in years. The tabloids always claim that Tom hasn’t seen Suri in however many days, but I always doubted the tabloid reporting and it was interesting to see Page Six pick up on it and say explicitly that it’s been about three years since Tom has been in the same room as Suri. They also said Tom refuses to see Suri because she is a “non-believer” in Scientology.

Anyway, Katie Holmes is currently filming the second miniseries based on the Kennedy family’s struggles, and obviously, Suri has been with her the whole time. But they managed a little getaway to the Hamptons this past weekend. Meaning Suri Cruise didn’t spend Father’s Day with Tom.

Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise spent Father’s Day without star dad Tom Cruise, spies said. The mother and daughter had lunch with friends at Serafina East Hampton — where Suri “caused a fun ruckus” at the eatery.

“They were there with a woman and two other kids. Suri and her friends were playing, and running around the restaurant,” said a spy. “It looked like they were playing tag . . . Running from table to table, but the customers didn’t mind. They were just laughing and happy running around the patio.”

Outgoing Suri even made new friends “with kids who were sitting at the next table. I don’t think they knew they were ‘famous.’ She was so chatty . . . Suri and Katie were very friendly and said goodbye to the staff and a few customers on the way out,” our insider said.

Meanwhile, Suri’s dad is currently filming “The Mummy” in Morocco. In Touch reported this month that Cruise has not seen Suri in 1,000 days. In 2012, Cruise sued the mag’s parent company, Bauer Media, for reporting that he “abandoned” Suri.

[From Page Six]

I said before that I don’t believe this is Katie Holmes denying Tom access to Suri. Tom is the one not making time to see Suri. I believe Katie probably wants Tom and Suri to spend time together, but after so many years, she’s gotten into her own rhythm of child-rearing as a single parent. It’s basically like Katie is a widow. A rich widow raising her daughter alone. And if Tom called tomorrow and asked Katie to bring Suri to Morocco so that he could see her daughter, I bet Katie would do it. But he’s the one not calling. That’s how I’m reading it.

  1. meme says:

he hasn’t seen in in probably a year.

  2. lisa2 says:

    Sad.. but not unexpected

  3. Diana Stone says:

I never thought Suri was Tom’s anyway

    • Gardenia says:

That’s plain ridiculous. She obviously IS his. She looks like him more and more. In the last pic, it’s easy to see Tom in her face, especially the eyes.

    • Algernon says:

She has Tom’s eyes. It’s really obvious in that photo where he’s carrying her.

    • Tiffany says:

She looks just like Tom’s cousin William Mapother.

      • lisa2 says:

Since that is his cousin it is not unusual for family to look like other relative. Genetics shows up in strange ways. So it means nothing that she looks like her Cousin. Her father looks like his cousin too.

      • lucy2 says:

She does look like him, but in ways that he and Tom look alike, if that makes sense. I think she also looks a lot like that Tommy Davis CO$ guy, but again, he and Tom look a lot alike. Who knows. She seems happy and well adjusted, and Katie seems to be a very good mom.

      • Twinkies says:

Yes! I’ve been seeing that for years. I’m almost certain that Suri is Tom’s bio child. The resemblance between Tom, Suri and his cousin is strong!

    • Payapa says:

Suri is Camilla Belle’s clone. Just google Suri Cruise and Camilla Belle and you’ll see. I’m kidding about the clone part of course, more like delayed decades doppleganger.

      • bbb1975 says:

I work in a school, there is a student there that could be Camilla Belles twin. They look identical. This young girls is amazingly gorgeous

    • Zapp Brannigan says:

It’s weird because Tom Cruise, Tommy Davis and Josh Hartnett all have the same “look” if you will. Suri is better off away from co$bot Tom, far, far away.

      • Emma - The JP Lover says:

My vote has always been for Josh Hartnett.

      • Algernon says:

It’s the heavy eyelids, but you can see in that photo where he’s carrying her that Suri has Tom’s *exact* eyes. Same shape, size, color, brows. It isn’t just “heavy eyelids,” she has the exact same eyes.

      • Casi says:

        Emma–me too!

    • Luca76 says:

Even if Tom wasn’t the biological father (I think he is). He legally is and he still abandoned his daughter, it’s totally despicable.

    • Tourmaline says:

Well, Bella and Conor aren’t “his” either then, they are not his biological kids. Yet, he still seems to be some kind of a dad to them. Don’t like this excuse for the estrangement with Suri.

      • Apple Tartin says:

Bella and Connor were already indoctrinated into Scientology by the time he and Nicole divorced. The kids chose to stay with Tom and rejected Nicole in the name of Scientology.

Suri is not a Scientologist and Katie won’t let her be one and is labeled a Suppressive Person by $cio so Tom won’t have any intercations with them.

It’s an abusive ‘religion’ that centers on control and sucking every last penny out of a broken human being. Now that’s despicable.

      • Bread and Circuses says:

        That’s a good point. :-/

      • atorontogal says:

They are his adopted children which makes them “his”.

      • Tourmaline says:

Oh I totes agree that his adopted children are wholly his children. And that Scientology is despicable. Just saying I don’t like the excuse “Well, Suri looks like she could be ___’s kid instead of Tom’s, so no big deal about Tom not seeing her”. Whether or not he’s her bio dad (which I’m pretty sure he is) should not be relevant.

      • Honest says:

Luca didn’t make anything resembling an excuse or implication that an adopted child is any less of a responsibility than a biological child.

      • CF98 says:

Except Bella and Connor were always “adopted” children. He claimed since day 1 that Suri was biologically his to have that come out after all this time that it wasn’t would just reinforce those rumors of him being sterile/gay

  4. Deanne says:

He’s chosen a cult over his own child.

  5. aims says:

I feel that Tom has emotionally walked away from his daughter. I agree that Katie has found her stride as a single mom. Suri will have a nice little trust fund when she’s 18 or 21 from Tom. Tom has made his choice and it’s pretty sick.

    • Megan says:

Tom is so brainwashed I think it is probably a huge relief to Katie that he is not involved in Suri’s life. Keeping Suri away from CO$ Is undoubtedly a big priority for Katie.

      • aims says:

I agree and it should be. Your child’s well-being and safety should always be the priority.

      • Susan says:

Lots of children grow up with no father and are completely functional and normal. Kids that grow up in cults….ehhh….

      • Lisa says:

I think Katie’s whole stealth-like divorce from Tom was because she didn’t want Scientology to to ahold of her. Wasn’t it something about Suri being introduced to SeaOrg when she reached a certain age. I think that realization finally spooked Katie forcing to do something dramatic to get away from Tom and the cult. Kudos to her!
Suri is better off without a narsicisstic cult member for a father. I’m sure she has many positive and loving male influences in Katies’s family.

  6. Birdix says:

A fun ruckus sounds like a euphemism for disruptive. Less amusing if you don’t have kids and are there to enjoy a leisurely lunch al fresco.

    • Colette says:

That’s how I feel about loud tipsy adults as well.

    • MsGoblin says:

      “Fun ruckus”. Yeah, right.

    • Algernon says:

If I’m at a restaurant and the staff/management is letting kids run around unchecked, I never return. Some places are designed to be kid friendly like that, but I am not interested in entertaining it myself.

      • Megan says:

It makes me so uncomfortable when kids run around in restaurants. I keep waiting for them to collide with the server carrying a tray of steaming coffees.

      • swedishchef says:

If Suri was a child of a non-celebrity, she would have been called a “terror” and a “brat”. Yeah, she and her Mum have been through a lot, but it doesn’t excuse them from being so disrespectful.

    • lucy2 says:

That’s what I was thinking – yeah I’m sure people were thrilled kids were playing tag in a restaurant.

    • Delta Juliet says:

Even if you do have kids (like me). My kids don’t run around restaurants and I would be pretty pissed if others were.

      • LizLemonGotMarried says:

Amen. I have a 5 year old and he knows exactly what’s expected of him in restaurants.

    • Kitten says:

That was my first thought as well. You can take the child out of Co$, but you can’t take the Co$ out of the child.

    • Redgrl says:

      Birdix – agreed!

  7. mytake says:

Outside of the media, I wonder if Suri still uses “Cruise” as her last name, or if its now Holmes. Like, at her school, is she Suri Holmes or Suri Cruise? What if the conspiracy theories are true, and Suri is not Tom’s biological child. Not that it matters, but just in terms of her name, it would be an interesting situation. Like, she got his name, even though he’s not the biological dad; then when her parents got divorced, her dad tapped out of her life — and now she’s stuck with the last name of someone of which she has no actual connection. Anyway, random thought. (And again, who knows if those conspiracy theories are true….)

  8. Samtha says:

It made me smile to read about Suri being outgoing and making friends. She always seemed so unhappy and isolated when she was younger (at least in videos and pics).

  9. Leah says:

Suri is gorgeous! She looks so grown up now…She’s probably wayyyy better off with Tom being absent. 😒

  10. Izzy says:

I guess this is what $cientology’s Disconnection policy looks like when you’re world famous and constantly under media scrutiny. More subtle, but the disconnect is still very clear.

    • Algernon says:

Also Nicole Kidman’s relationship with her two older children. That always made me so sad for her, because she’s obviously someone who loves being a parent.

      • lucy2 says:

I always felt sad for her too, plus there were so many awful stories and comments about her abandoning her kids, when it was really the other way around.

      • Megan says:

I feel for Isabella and Connor. As much as they like to pretend staying in CO$ was their choice, telling a child they will have to walk away from everything they have ever known doesn’t seem like much of a choice to me.

      • CF98 says:

Probably because Nicole wasn’t exactly a nobody she was more famous than Katie was when she and Tom split one would think with her $$$ and friends she could’ve really fought for custody of her kids. I mean Katie is lesser in comparison and made sure to get custody before she left Tom. Why couldn’t Nicole? Its not as if she was poor and not famous.

    • Cannibell says:

CF98 – Katie had what happened to Nicole in front of her. I’m sure Nicole never dreamed her children could be turned against her. And in this context, who’s more famous is irrelevant.

      • CF98 says:

No it isn’t because if it were Katie who left Suri with Tom people here would be dragging her for being a crap mother by not fighting hard enough.

  11. QQ says:

I wonder truly how does that even work, parent to child and so on like how does it work for Nicole Having kids she sees daily and Kids she raised not seeing them at all and then even with Suri, were they not as her siblings bonded in any way with her? does she miss them? the Family Unit etc that they had or is she too young to mind it at all do all these people just disappear from her life one day?

  12. KittenFarts says:

I always thought Katie didn’t want him in their lives anymore due to that cult. Bc he couldn’t not involve her or discuss it. At this point I’m sure it’s mutual.

    • dAsh says:

This. Let’s not forget how Katie had the leverage from the divorce. Maybe she asked him to get out of their lives and leave them alone in exchange of her being quiet about the cult. I wouldn’t put it past her.

  13. Raquel says:

I suspect seeing Tom would be bad for Suri’s mental health.

    • hnmmom says:

It seems like a lose-lose situation. Not seeing him ever will scar her emotionally yet spending time with him could expose her to his cult craziness. Best thing would be for Katie to remarry someone who could serve as a healthy father figure for Suri. She would have a positive role model who would help inoculate her from buying into $cientology craziness when she gets older and maybe tries to attach to her father. That would be my fear if I was Katie – rebellious teen Suri seeks out Tom who uses that opportunity to fill her head with crazy and Suri is so desperate for fatherly attention she buys into all of it.

  14. lucy2 says:

He abandoned her three years ago, I think it’s time for the tabloids to stop the “OMG he didn’t see her on ____ holiday!” stories.

    • The Original Mia says:

ITA. He’s not going to be shamed into seeing her. He’s chosen the CoS.

  15. Mia4s says:

Oh well he’s so terribly busy and important in his art filming….the 786,689th version of the Mummy. 🙄 Pathetic.

She really is better off without him, and one day that little girl is going to be able to speak for herself. Now that will be interesting.

  16. Velvet Elvis says:

Why is this even news anymore? It’s been obvious for a while that Tom has walked away from Suri for good. The child is better off for it if you ask me.

  17. HeyThere! says:

Suri is a gorgeous little girl. Katie is doing a great job. One day, someday, Tom will look back and regret this, I hope. I honestly think it might happen on his death bed.

  18. megan says:

I hope he doesn’t come swooping in when she reaches age 18 and sweet talks her into his cult. Being abandoned by your father does a number on you mentally, and when she reaches legal age, I could see him try to get her back into the fold. Hopefully she is strong enough to resist it.

  19. Amelie says:

Is anyone really surprised though? The only reason Tom was able to hold on to Connor and Isabella was because people weren’t as aware how crazy Scientology was. Tom was the bigger star, nobody would have believed Nicole had she talked up the Scientology craziness. Social media wasn’t around back then and the Internet did not have as large a role in celebrity gossip so Nicole had to play along or lose what little access she had to the kids.

Katie planned a stealthy divorce, sprung it on Tom, and made sure Suri was in her custody when it happened (wasn’t Tom filming a movie outside of the US at the time?). She counted on the paparazzi images on the Internet/social media to document where she was and to protect her from Scientology surveillance goons. With such public documentation, the Sci crew couldn’t go after Suri or Katie without being obvious so Tom had to let go of Suri. If losing his own daughter is not enough to wake him up, nothing is.

  20. NewWester says:

When Katie was pregnant with Suri, Tom made a huge deal about becoming a father “finally” . Then when Suri was born it was like she was his only child. I felt bad for his children that he had with Nicole, they must have felt like they were second class. Now Tom does not make time or an effort to see Suri? Maybe the cult he belongs to has something to do with it, but I also think Katie has some major dirt on Tom for him to agree to such a quick divorce and her having custody of their child.

  21. Rebecca says:

I don’t know why it is so hard to believe that Tom Cruise hasn’t seen Suri in years. Sceintologists believe that everyone is reincarnated and everyone has adult souls. Therefore, children are seen as the same as adults. Their mistakes are seen as the same as adult mistakes. This is why they used to make children work like they were adults. They didn’t see the abuse in that.

If Suri has ever said anything negative about scientlology or refused something that has to do with scientology she will have been labeled a potential trouble source or even a suppressive person because she would be seen as no different than an adult. According to scientology rules, Tom would have to stay away from her.

  22. Hannah says:

I don’t know if she would want him to see her. Look what happened with Nicole. She had custody too at one point. I would be so worried he would pull some weird Scientology crap on her.

    • Rebecca says:

I agree. It would probably be some weird hours long auditing session to bring her back to scientology.

  23. wh says:

OMG Katie and Jamie relationship has been confirmed by claduia jordan

    • Morish says:

It’s old news but I think that “friend” is also trying to get some clicks for herself.

  24. Morish says:

I agree with Celebitchy and think Tom Cruise is the one refusing to see his own daughter. Maybe it’s to get back at Katie and also to please his church and set an example of how you treat suppressive people. Anyway, I hope Katie and Jamie Foxx end up committing. For some reason they seem like a great couple to me and Katie deserves a normal, nice guy for a change.

  25. Rayya Kirt says:

There is no way to have dinner in the galaxy and make it back to see Suri before the earthling bedtime her suppressive bytch of a mother gave her.

  26. Jag says:

I don’t think that she would take Suri to see him. I wouldn’t. He’s completely immersed in the religion and I wouldn’t want my daughter exposed to that. I think that Katie is perfectly fine with Tom being an absentee father.
