Dancing with the Stars performers Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd have a future little hoofer on the way. The couple, who got engaged in December, were slightly surprised about the upcoming arrival, as they weren’t planning to start a family until after their wedding next July. Despite the unexpected pregnancy, they are understandably excited. Peta posted a photo of Maks kissing her baby bump (she’s in her second trimester) on Instagram with the caption, “We couldn’t be happier. Baby Chmerkovskiy is coming.”
Peta’s latest partner Nyle DiMarco, who won the mirror ball with her on the show’s latest season, also passed along his congratulations to the couple, tweeting:

Peta is currently touring with her fiancé and his brother Valentin in Maks & Val: Live on Tour. She’s pregnant, and still dancing. Impressive. She’s also still working out, as evidenced by a photo she posted a few days ago, bump clearly visible. Of course, she told PEOPLE magazine that she was battling morning sickness while competing with Nyle on DWTS. Here are some other highlights from the interview:
Maks on Daddy-dom: “I can’t wait to provide this baby with the tools to become a beautiful, kind person. And they’ll have the best sneaker collection.”
Boy or girl?: “We’ll be in trouble with a little me running around,” jokes Chmerkovskiy. “So hopefully they’ll be a lot like Peta.”
A baby is the best wedding gift ever: “The timing is perfect, actually,” says Murgatroyd. “I’ll have the baby in January and then I’ll still have about six months to prepare for the wedding.” The baby will make a wonderful addition to the wedding party,” adds Chmerkovskiy. “A wonderful, tiny addition.”
Peta on Motherhood: “I’m looking forward to nurturing something and just having the baby be the center of our world. I’m looking forward to putting all our energy into this beautiful soul.”
Congrats, you dancing fools. Baby Chmerkovskiy is sure to be one cute kid. And think about it, he or she will be old enough to dance with a parent on the 45th season of Dancing with the Stars! You never know is all I’m saying.

This pregnancy is old news. Erin Andrews spilled the beans months ago, Maks and Peta just waited to confirm it so they could land another “People Exclusive”. The level of D-list famewhoring this child is going to be used for will be Epic.
And Peta’s not dancing on tour, she’s just tagging along.
