The Cambridges brought Prince George to an RAF air show: adorable?

kate3

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge made a joint appearance today at the military air show at RAF Fairford. William is a former RAF pilot, and Kate is the Honorary Air Commandant of the RAF Air Cadets, after being forced into the patronage by the Queen at the pre-Christmas lunch last year. I’m surprised she didn’t wear that blinged-out brooch for the Air Cadets!

What’s nice about this visit, today, was the Will and Kate brought along George. George is just a few weeks shy of his third birthday (he was born July 22, 2013). Reportedly, George likes planes and such, so I can see why Will and Kate thought this might be a nice, breezy event for him. Unfortunately, because kids are kids, George did through a little tantrum at one point and Kate had to pick him up and soothe him – you can see the photos here.

As for Kate, she wore a repeat – this ugly Stella McCartney dress that she’s worn three times before to public events. In 2014, she wore this same dress with the same (or a very similar) navy Smythe blazer too. But in 2014, she wore the navy wedges of doom, and for today’s trip, Kate wore nude heels, because of course. Oh, and at some point during the appearance, Kate put on a leopard-print headband!

Perfect event to have worn pants

    • HH says:

Not to mention that blue on blue is hideous.

      • SKF says:

Is she wearing a… Headband??? My god. This outfit is heinous. It’s like bad early 90s shizz. Dear god

    • Who ARE these people? says:

      Eggs-actly.

    • Rachel says:

True, but at least she wore a straight skirt with minimal chance of flashing. A ponytail would have worked so nicely for her hair for this event too, but at least she brought a headband.

      • burnsie says:

I agree with all of that, unfortunately. Real inspiring to see how low the bar is!

      • kaiko says:

IKR! I mean, not like she couldn’t use the “insta-lift” from a nice high ponytail or french twist. I employ this technique often!

    • Mia V. says:

The Queen left a sigh of relieve escape for not seeing the panties.

    • INeedANap says:

Except she would have worn jeggings rather than lovely slacks. Because we need to be able to see her legs (or at least their definition) at all times.

      • Sarah says:

Oh, boy!!! And her legs are so skinny in that picture in which she is sitting in the copter. And no one notices this?????? I’m worried for her.

      • Vava says:

Sarah, she deliberately wore that type of dress in order to show off her legs. Kate is vain. Worry about her? Why? She says she’s being “well taken care of”. She’s way underweight, but it’s by her choice. I guess she likes having her backbones sticking out, tail bone jutting out when she stoops down to talk to her son, and all the rest. She dresses to accentuate it and we are just going to have to accept the fact that the Duchess wants to look this way. She must be loads of fun at a dinner party………………NOT.

    • orangecrush says:

That was my first thought. Well-tailored capris and a pair of cute ballet flats would have been totally appropriate. I will give her credit for doing something (finally) to keep her hair out of her face. But wearing that short of a skirt while constantly bending over to tend to your toddler would give me massive anxiety.

    • Vava says:

Kate stop posing your legs. We’ve seen enough of them already.

      • kaiko says:

Her legs are nice but her mid section is another story. Her waistline is Elizabethan it’s so long. You can really see in that yellow dress from Wimbledon….probably why the legs are always on show, and in 3 inch heels. Distraction. Kate is a professional when it comes to how she looks in pics, I think that’s where her true talent lies.
Kate not pose? Haha, Vava! 🙂

  2. Locke Lamora says:

I really like the blue dress navy blazer combo. But the shoes and headband need to go.
George is a cutie and thank God he’s not dressed like it’s 1956.

    • minx says:

He’s adorable. He’s good sized for his age, too–he looks like my son at that age, and he turned out to be 6′ 4″ and well over 200 pounds.

      • kaiko says:

He is a big boy for his age. Bill better watch it when he hits puberty! My 3 year old is that height but leaner like his dad…and from all the non stop mischief, oh the mischief!

    • Bonster says:

First thing I wondered was what would have been wrong with navy pumps for that outfit? Those shoes are so omnipresently fugly. Gahhhhh.

  3. Rapunzel says:

George hardly had a tantrum. It was more like a small freak out from the noise. It was handled quickly and effectively by Kate, and he seemed to be having fun.

I do wonder how skeletal Kate has the strength to lift him and carry him though.

And a headband? Not even Hillary Clinton wears those anymore.

    • Original T.C. says:

I always wonder why Kate is the one still holding George when he is now obviously too heavy for her? Why not William or is it she has to hold on to something to keep her hands busy? Or maybe she will get Mommy shamed for not looking motherly? I noticed with other celebrities it’s usually the husbands that carry the bigger kids. Also in real life!

      • Cee says:

There are plenty of photos of William holding George, and some of them clearly show George in his father’s arms looking for his mother with his arms stretched out. George seeks Kate more.

      • Original T.C. says:

@Cee, big thanks for the correction. Much appreciated 🙂
I don’t venture out of CB into the UK media (The Daily Fail commenters worry me!) so my view of pictures regarding the Do-Littles is limited to those on CB. Also I can only take them in small doses until they do something significant. But I’m a sucker for George pictures. I love the bruiser!!!!

    • S says:

Thin is not the same as skeletal or weak. My son just turned 4 and is fully in the mommy stage. I suspect George is too. Natural at that age. I can carry his 40 lbs with no problem – why shouldn’t she?

    • Ally.M says:

Are we body shaming now? I don’t think that’s allowed here.

      • Sarah says:

No, it’s not body shaming when you mention that the woman seems to have an eating disorder. It’s just a fact.

    • Mae says:

Isn’t Kate a tennis player? I remember reading that somewhere. Also something about lifting weights (really vague memory, sorry). Looking lean doesn’t mean a person doesn’t have strength and a good amount of muscle mass, just that their body fat percentage isn’t that high. Kate’s body fat is lower than average, but average is overweight currently, so . .

    • Sarah says:

The headband – leopard??? She really has no taste.

  4. Lex says:

Wait, why is this dress ugly?? I love it! It’s simple and I love that color. I even like it paired with the blazer. Meh to the headband and shoes though.

    • err says:

Me too! I think it is the best she has looked in ages.

    • Amide says:

      Same

    • PrincessMe says:

Me too, I like it a lot. I’d wear it to work.

    • Elisa the I. says:

Right? That color is awesome and she looks happy and relaxed (for once!). I even like the shoes.

    • Pri says:

I like the blazer dress combo too. I know Kate’s fashions aren’t beloved by all, but this outfit isn’t horrible.

Although a ponytail or braid would;ve been better than a headband.

    • minx says:

Me too, I love it and I’d wear it. Not the shoes.

      • Ankhel says:

Same. It’s simple in the best way, flatters her figure, it’s a good colour. I don’t see any problem!

    • TyrantDestroyed says:

I hate to say it but the dress is something I would wear too.

    • hogtowngooner says:

Me too! The colour looks great on her, and the blazer works well with it. I even like the nude heels.

I’m meh about the headband as well. If she’s around helicopters it should be tied up, IMO.

    • Nikki says:

I think the dress is gorgeous, I think she looks wonderful in jewel tones, and for the life of me I don’t understand what is so terrible about beige heels. She’s toting around a three year old; let her wear the shoes she finds comfortable! And for every poster mention of “a low bar”, I have 5 words: repetitive, repetitive, Fergie, Beatrice, and Eugenie.

      • notasugarhere says:

Fergie, Beatrice, and Eugenie are not working royals and are private citizens. How they dress is of no consequence.

      • hmmm says:

The Yorkies don’t have the Charles by the short and curlies like she (or her hubby) does when it comes to the obscene amount of her clothes allowance. And yet they are far more interesting and daring in their choices, even though there are misses.

  5. als says:

LOL She put the headband because she couldn’t manage her hair and George in the same time. When George is present everything is about him or he makes it about him. In all the pics people are speaking to him and he doesn’t bother looking at anyone.
How did these people create a kid with so much personality?

    • Lex says:

He is not even three! How dare he make it all about him! You’re kind of reaching there.

    • LAK says:

To be fair, and without knowing anything about the Middletons and therefore unable to speculate on them, there is a-l-o-t of personality on the Mountbatten-Windsor Spencer side. Lots of charismatic individuals even if that didn’t translate to William.

      • hmmm says:

I always see George as fighting to get out of his cage. I think they will annihilate that personality when he hits adolescence. He may even end up a whinger like his pater.

    • minx says:

      He’s three.

    • als says:

Thank you for understanding, Lindsay and Tonka, it was a good natured comment and it most definitely was not a verdict to George’s definitive personality (I am aware he is only three) and not an insult to his parents’ personalities (that are more mellowed).

@LAK: yeah, maybe he resembles someone in the family.

@hmmm: Will and Kate said they want to be different, so maybe they will raise their kids with more focus on individuality and less stiffling.

      • nilber says:

There is a spark in him that people are drawn to. He is a 3 yr old and it shows when he lights up at things he enjoys.
I truly believe he adores his Mum and she adores him in turn. I can’t wait to see how his sister’s personality will be in a year or two.

  6. OSTONE says:

While they have nannies and staff to look after the kids, you can tell that George is very comfortable with his parents, especially Kate.

    • Kitty says:

But I still believe the nannies take care of the kids more than we know!

    • LAK says:

Having nannies isn’t a bar to being comfortable with parents.

      • S says:

        Exactly, LAK.

I have a nanny. I’m a physician and work 40-50 hrs per week. I have the nanny come on my day off so she gets full hours and I can get stuff done in the house. I’m also a really good parent. They are not mutually exclusive, people.

      • Nic919 says:

I don’t think people are judging nannies when the parents work long hours.
But when you have household staff and don’t have a job, what is the reason? There is more than one nanny too.

    • Christin says:

I saw aunts and uncles no more than a couple of times a month at that age, and was comfortable around them. A child could see a parent 30 minutes a day and be comfortable/responsive to them. I don’t think it proves hands-on or not.

      • LAK says:

        Yep

      • JustVisiting says:

Early in all this there was an instance where George was hurt/startled. He made way straight for Maria. With cropped photos though it was made to look as if he was heading to kate. I think in sudden moments instincts drive us.
But I also agree George is probably more than comfortable with his parents and that is no indicator of how much time is spent with them. Just how he views their roles in his life.

  7. The Original Mia says:

George is cute. He seemed fine to me. Well behaved. Kate’s dress is entirely too short. She should have worn pants, but that’s never going to happen.

    • mellie says:

Do any of England’s royals wear pants? I don’t think the Queen does, how about the others…I honestly don’t know, but if the others don’t then why all the complaining because Kate doesn’t wear pants to public events?

      • COSquared says:

They are allowed to. It seems Kate (fans to be honest) has created that myth(and many more) that they don’t.

      • notasugarhere says:

HM, Anne, and Sophie have all worn trousers during official duties.

      • HH says:

As many times as we’ve seen Kate’s skinny jeans (in multiple colors mind you), I still don’t know how people get the impressions she can’t wear pants. If anything, business slacks would be far more professional than her skirts that have blown up and skin tight jeans. We’ve also seen her in the “daring” off-the-shoulder gown from the other day. So, the BRF may is not that conservative and traditional. Furthermore, even if “no pants” were the case, of some of the traditions Kate has broken (like not passing out Shamrocks to the Irish Guards), wearing pants would be incredibly minor.

    • hmmm says:

“Well-behaved”? What is there to be well-behaved about?

  8. Jegede says:

I NEVER saw a resemblance before.

But George actually looks like William in these pics and the linked DM ones.

  9. Lama Bean says:

He’s so adorable with his little noise cancelling headphones (I know that’s not to official name but I can’t think of it right now)

  10. BendyWindy says:

I like her look, even the headband. And almost three year olds are weird (mine is a month younger than George). I see nothing to criticize here.

    • benchwarmer says:

Agreed! I love her look, blazer, dress, headband, hair, color combination! I find her looks timeless if not a tiny bit ’80s which is probably why I adore her style. Some of her looks, like the banana shift dress and this one look right out of Dynasty circa the early years which is so classy.

      • LadyJane says:

Personally, I never would have used ‘Dynasty’ and ‘classy’ in the same sentence. There is nothing fashion worthy to see here. Time to move on. She will never be Diana.

      • Nikki says:

LADYJANE, your comment “She will never be Diana” is so ….I don’t even have the words. Diana has been gone many years, and no daughter in law should be expected to REPLACE another person. ALSO, the press was not nearly as invasive then, or you’d have heard more of Diana’s hundred texts a day to a married man, etc. I’m not trying to put Diana down, I thought she was lovely, but I think part of the reason Kate is judged so extremely harshly here is that she doesnt fill Diana’s shoes. Kate has been down to earth and friendly with locals wherever she’s lived, she’s never had a major scandal like Fergie, she seems a delightful mother of 2 kids under 3, and she’s never publicly snapped at anyone to bugger off!

      • notasugarhere says:

“down to earth and friendly with locals”? You mean when she was in London instead of living in Wales as she said? When W&K had a guard fired because he said how nasty KM was to the Palace staff? When she swore at Beatrice at a charity event and made her cry?

No major scandal? I suppose we’re taking Uncle Gary’s video comments and her topless spree in France off the discussion table?

No one will ever fill Diana’s shoes. That given, it is not unreasonable to expect KM to work far more than she is, to learn how to give a speech, and stop dressing and acting like a teenager.

      • KiddVicious says:

Looking back on some of Diana’s outfits, even they were a bit Dynasty-like. I laugh at the huge shoulder pads. I totally rocked that look, btw. LOL

  11. lisa2 says:

George is just so cute.. and Kate looks so pretty here. She really glows when she is with her kids. Her face is just lit up.

    • Kate says:

Yes! I completely agree you 100%. I think she needs to more events where she can bring the kids. She seemed genuine and really enjoying her time. Much more engaging here. I hate the shoes with the outfit but that’s my only complaint.

    • hmmm says:

She really glows in the spotlight. Her kids make her resplendent.

  12. HH says:

Recently, when Kate is with her children at events, or with Harry, she seems so much more relaxed. Her expressions are more natural and relaxed. Apparently, it gives her something to do and/or someone to lean on. In the beginning, William definitely provided this comfort, but at some point maybe that trailed off.

    • hmmm says:

That’s funny. She looks to me as determined and controlling of the narrative. Go figure. That gives her life.

  13. MinnFinn says:

There is a short video of Kate lifting George into her arms. George looks robust and big for his age but Kate even though she is SO skinny has impressive upper body strength. She did a clean dead lift with no discernible problem.

    https://twitter.com/byEmilyAndrews

    • La Ti Da says:

Ha, I’m so glad I wasn’t the only person who saw that and was impressed. I probably have 40lbs on Kate and had I attempted that deadlift it certainly wouldn’t have looked so easy!

      • hmmm says:

She has a trainer. Obviously she has strengthened parts of her body. Unlike others, I don’t think she’s fragile. For her this is an easy lift.

      • Vava says:

I don’t think she’s weak, either, hmmm. Hopefully her personal trainer will help her work on the muscles of her back to improve her AWFUL posture.

    • TyrantDestroyed says:

My boss, who is 8 years older than Kate has a similar body and weight thanks to running, eating very healthy and being an avid crossfitter and is able to lift heavy weigh. I am not surprised that Kate, who is said to have a very similar lifestyle is able to do the same.

    • Mae says:

You don’t need large muscles to have strength! That is a myth. You can continue making strength gains at the gym while maintaining the same size. This is why women are told not to worry that bigger weights will make us very muscular; most of us just don’t have the genes to build visibly large muscles (not that there’s anything wrong with that . . I’d really like my arms to look like Serena’s). Kate actually does seem to have some definition in her arms in other pics; they’re not THAT skinny, far from twig-like.

  14. Sullivan says:

George! What an adorable rascal. He takes after Uncle Harry.

  15. Alix says:

George is certainly a beautiful little boy. And getting so big! Kid’s got charisma, no doubt about it.

  16. PHAKSI says:

I have no complaints about this, which is rare when it comes to these two. Kate and Will look meh, as per usual. Love that George is dressed in modern casuals and not clothes that look like his grandpa Charles could have worn them at the same age. Also love that they didn’t gel his wavy hair. Wish Kate would do the same, put down the flat iron and set her wavy hair free

  17. Tash says:

George is adorable. That pic where he is shaking hands with a pilot is especially cute.

  18. Lainey says:

He’s adorable and aside from a little tantrum seemed really happy to be there.
Hate that dress and jacket combo and the shoes. George is known to be a runner, why wouldn’t you wear flats and tie back your hair. It was flying everywhere. You’re at an air show there’s going to be a lot of wind!! And for gods sake put a jumper on that poor boy. Everyone else is wearing jumpers/jackets and he’s just in shorts and a shirt.

    • Imqrious2 says:

It could just be that he “runs hot”. My younger nephew and my dad are that way. We’ll all be bundled up, and they are in shorts and or short sleeves. I tell my dad he likes to live in a meat freezer! Lol I always have to have a sweater with me, as I get cold easily.

  19. Livvers says:

Her legs look fantastic. And that dress she wore to the event the other night actually hugged her posterior a bit. I am starting to get the impression Kate is actually starting to feel herself a bit more, to dress more for herself than she has in ages. Talking to friends who have kids, I understand it can take a few years before some women start to feel reconnected with their post-birth bodies. Maybe Kate is in the same position?

    • Minxx says:

I think she’s way too skinny – with 10 more pounds, she’d look terrific and much younger on the face.

      • Livvers says:

I think this sort of comment is exactly why I chose to say something positive about Kate’s appearance.

    • hmmm says:

Yes, it’s all about the legs. The Duchess thanks you.

    • Sarah says:

Livvers, she is so skinny, it’s startling! Look at her legs in the sitting picture! And her midsection – there is nothing to her.
I’m convinced she has an eating disorder.

  20. CidySmiley says:

Everyone is surprised she can lift him lol listen eventually you get used to some weight, she’s his mom, she probably picks him up a lot. I have a chubby three year old that I can straight deadlift when I can’t open the jar of mayonnaise.

    • LAK says:

He doesn’t look so big or heavy in video, but the photo closeups make him look huge and Kate really tiny by comparison.

When i saw the pics, before seeing the video, i was surprised she could pick him up because she looks tiny and he looks really big and heavy.

    • Imqrious2 says:

My nephews wanted to be picked up until about 5. The older was tall, too, and I’m only 5’2″! I’d count it: “1,2,3, JUMP!” and be able to get a “clean lift” lol. Sigh…I miss those days; they’ll be 16 and 18 next week (and both about 6′ tall!) lol

  21. eileen says:

The stupid, nude heels AGAIN for crying out loud!!

  22. Minxx says:

I can’t figure out why she wouldn’t wear pants and flats to an air show where she has to run after a toddler and climb in and out of a helicopter. Not to mention hair in a ponytail. I don’t mind the dress but the shoes are terrible. George is a cutie! Every time I see him, I can’t stop thinking how happy Diana would have been to be a grandmother!

    • Tourmaline says:

The heels and hair for this event are ridiculous! And her apparent ban on all pants except for jeggings is really confounding. This blazer with a ponytail, nicely tailored pants, and cute flats (not wedges or boat shoes) would have been aces.

    • Polly says:

She obviously doesn’t like pants given she never wears them and with her longish torso I can see why. As for the heels, when you wear them all the time they are as comfortable as flats.

  23. Kate says:

Actually like the dress and blazer combo. The headband is fine because it keeps her hair away from her face, for once.

    Her legs look really good.

  24. HyacinthBucket says:

It looks as if George’s waist is larger than his mother’s. That’s seriously thin.

He is a very pretty toddler with intelligent eyes, I only wish he’d laugh more.

  25. Why does she have to carry him? Isn’t he old enough and behaved enough to walk and hold her hand?

    • Adele Dazeem says:

My daughter is the same age. It’s a tough age, to be honest, she likes to run off and do her own thing. They’re still unruly and über confident so I’d carry her too at that place.

    • bluhare says:

He started fussing because of all the noise so she picked him up to calm him. Then he got the ear defender?? headphones and walked on his own. He actually did very well for being so young and surrounded by people and noise.

    • hmmm says:

She carries him because it’s a great photo op.

  26. Cerys says:

The dress isn’t ugly but it is far too short to wear when climbing in and out of planes or sitting down. I agree with the others who said this would have been a good occasion to wear trousers (not the dreaded jeggings) and flatter shoes. I do wish she would tie her hair back. It’s so unhygienic to be running her hands through her hair and then shaking people’s hands.

  27. Cricket says:

Great to see George out in public and hopefully getting more accustomed to having everyone stare, take photos and shout his name. Not sure if it was that or the sounds of the helicopters or both that panicked him. I don’t think it was a temper tantrum, maybe he was looking for Maria and she was in the car? He looks like he was initially pointing to the car when he first got out but I didn’t watch the video – going straight from the photos.

Based on the photos, George seems to be growing like a weed! He seems tall and has big feet, he’s gonna be a tall big boy. And he is cute with his inquisitive eyes and curls.

  28. Trek Girl says:

I rather agree with most of the critiques of her styling, but not this one.

I think she looks great here. She’s not wearing an outfit right off the runway, but her look ticks all the boxes for me: her blue dress is a good length, stayed put, and is very flattering; her hair is being held back in a simple yet stylish way with the headband; her shoes seem like they shouldn’t go with everything else she’s wearing, but they do; and her jacket brings the whole look together nicely.

She looks content and at ease, to boot. That’s the best part of these photos, in my opinion. She’s having a good time and it shows.

  29. Pandy says:

George looks comfortable with both parents. I suspect they do spend a fair amount of time with him. Which is wonderful! No snark.

  30. Roller74 says:

I’ve always thought that the only reason Stella McCartney has any career at all, is because her celebrity friends wear and push her brand. Her designs are unflattering, to the say the least. Guaranteed, when you check out the sales rack at Holt Renfrew, Saks Fifth etc. you will always find her ugly clothes being offered up at deep discounts. George is so cute, and on a positive note, at least he wasn’t subjected to seeing his mums biscuit being flashed, this time around.

  31. KiddVicious says:

I like Kate’s dress. I agree pants would probably have been more practical, but I think the dress is fine too. She looks like she’s relaxed and having fun, I guess the trick to a successful outing for her is to bring one or both of her kids.

I’m a little freaked at how white George’s legs are, does he not play outside at all?

    • Jwoolman says:

I’m sure they have him slathered in sunscreen when he’s playing outside. His ethnicity likely burns rather than tans.

      • KiddVicious says:

Poor kid needs his Vit D! I know sunscreen has its place, but a few minutes a day without it is very healthy. And I just noticed how white my legs are and I really shouldn’t have said anything, they rival George’s. 😀

    • Amelie says:

I am paler than George (really) and “getting color” from the sun is over rated. People who tan naturally will not understand this but it only takes 10-15 minutes of sun exposure for a fair skinned person like myself to burn. “Sunscreen has its time and place” every single day I plan to be out in the sun longer than a few minutes. I’m the friend who refuses to sit outside if the restaurant seating is in direct sunlight. Sunburns are painful and not sexy. Sunsxreen forever!

Agree and I’m sure all dermatologists would agree with you. The notion that “a little color” (i.e.,cellular damage of skin) is healthy isn’t really so in light of what is known today about skin cancer, not to mention premature aging. I’m glad if the Cambridges use sunblock on their kids –as they will avoid that leathery, “passed out in a tannery” look sported by Granny Carole and Aunt Pippa 😉

      • minx says:

I’m in my sixties and trust me, your skin will look better as you age, too.

      • Vava says:

With any luck, maybe Kate will use some sunscreen herself. Look at the Queen, her skin is amazing for someone her age. She never did this tanning thing.

      • KiddVicious says:

I’m very pale and very careful in the sun, but I still don’t use sunscreen every day. It’s just not good for you. I’ve seen what happens with Vit D deficiencies and it’s not good. Plus, sunscreens are full of chemicals that oxidize in the sun and can cause cancer, something most dermatologists forget to mention. Mine told me to always put an anti-oxidant (Vit C serum) under my sunscreen when I had to wear it.

    • Tina says:

He may play outside all the time, but you’d never know it from his legs. We have had an utterly crap “summer” in which there have been maybe one or two good days of sunshine. It’s not like a North American summer.

  32. Thaisajs says:

She looks lovely, I really like the hairband. Hate the shoes. HATE HATE HATE.

George is adorable. They should bring him out more often.

  33. hmmm says:

Why the photo op? Something is up.

    • hmmm says:

BTW, the use of their child for this blatant photo op is beyond words. What a pair of wasters. #PoorGeorge

    • S says:

Maybe because people keep complaining that they don’t bring the children out often enough? Or because 3 year old boys love planes? Damned if they do, damned if they don’t.

      • hmmm says:

C’mon. It’s a flagrant photo op. There is nothing casual about it.

The fact is, if George loves flying machines, there are a myriad of *private* avenues to indulge him. The Dolittles need to make a point here. Not sure what it is unless it’s #poorJason’s ongoing PR blitz.

      • Flowerchild says:

        @ s

There no point in giving a logical reason to hmmm.

      • hmmm says:

“Maybe because people keep complaining that they don’t bring the children out often enough?”

It’s a know fact that Willy does everything within his power to bully the press, always crying privacy. They bring this poor kid *where he melted down in distress* to a giant flying show because it’s not logical to show him flying machines privately. Sh’yeah.

  34. Vava says:

There have only been a handful of Stella McCartney’s garments that I’ve ever liked. This dress is not one of them. I don’t mind the color, but the way this thing hangs from the high waist down is just not flattering to anyone. The length is fine as long as you don’t bend over or sit down. haha.

Kate wore it because it’s blue and her blazer is too. Theme dressing once again. Plus she has to show her body and so today it was her legs. I like that blazer though, that is so cute! The perfect outfit would have been that blazer with some awesome tailored trousers. And some lower block heeled shoes. These beige shoes of hers are really mundane. Hair in a pony tail.

    George is wonderful.
    William is dull.

    • hmmm says:

      Vava,

I have never disagreed with any of your comments. Yes, George is wonderful because he is a child. But they know it. And use it. They are using him for their own PR ends. That wonderful child to them is like so much gold coinage.

      • Vava says:

George has more personality than his parents do, that’s for sure. It’s going to be fun watching him grow up, that is if they don’t hide him away forever!

  35. Kitty says:

How can the public not see this was a PR move?

    • ida says:

normally I would have thought the same. but after two days of horrible deaths caused by racism and the media full of it I must admit: I LOVED looking at these photos. they are like a fresh breeze. I could not care less about kate’s hair or clothes or william the dull or a pr move. what I see is a couple that loves their son and the son loves them back.

  36. Jayna says:

She looks lovely, and she is so radiant with her little boy.

  37. Kaz says:

She looked perfectly acceptable, if totally boring. Why would anyone wear an above the knee skirt with heels when in all probability you are going to have to bend down and pickup a small child? Time to get a smart trouser suit Duchess.

  38. Starlight says:

I don’t know what the nannies were feeding Wills and Harry but they were unbelievably well behaved and quiet at that age. Seen and not heard springs to mind and another thing I know many small kids who attend red arrows display but they don’t get a pair of ear phones.

  39. cindyp says:

Why in the world would anyone wear an above knee dress & high heels to a windy airfield while carrying a child? Plus wearing her hair down, blowing all over the place? Beginning to think that she’s really not very intelligent

  40. Oksi says:

Too short dress. Awful overbuild legs muscles. Nude shoes, really? Again? Pathetic.

  41. amanda says:

Is the palace pushing nude heels on her? I don’t understand why she wears those so often. They’re so boring.

  42. Kitty says:

I would think this would be trending world wide.

  43. Dinah says:

Good gravy, Kate’s got great gams.

    • Nic919 says:

No she doesn’t. They are sticks compared to what she used to look like in university. At that time, when she had muscles in her thighs, her legs were great.

Someone like Serena Williams has great legs. Venus Williams too. Beyoncé as well.
We need to praise women who have muscles and not those who diet away their strength.

      • KiddVicious says:

Completely different body types. There is no way Kate could ever have the legs of Serena or Beyoncé, just not possible. Kate looks strong, you can tell she works out, that should be praised. The constant criticism of her being too thin is getting old. I think she has great legs and I wouldn’t be surprised if she had a six-pack stomach.

      • Sarah says:

KiddVicious, if you dont see that Kate has some kind of an eating disorder, I’m afraid to see someone who you think does!! She is skeletal.

      • Ughcelebrities says:

“We need to praise women who have muscles and not those who diet away their strength.”

Or maybe we should judge and shame them until they stop dieting and become worthy of our praise? That’s screwed up. Maybe she does have an eating disorder. Maybe not. We don’t know because as much as we pretend to know these people from a few photos a month, we actually don’t. Either way, the self-righteousness and knee-jerk judgmental shaming isn’t remotely helpful to anyone ever. Not too far up someone said Kate only held George for a good photo op. Good God, or maybe she’s like a lot of other humans on the planet and loves her kids.

And I can’t believe she is simultaneously criticized about her wearing the same outfit after two years but also generally getting onto her for being vain and of conspicuous consumption. I’m not going to judge her for wearing the same outfit two years later. She can wear what she wants. I’m not about to shame the woman to death about her clothing. Women get too much of that bs already.

IDK if she’s a great person, but a lot of the criticism is really reaching. God forbid if she wears a headband. Some of these complaints sound as nitpicky and as stifling as the Queen is purported to be haha.

      • Tina says:

Sorry, but her clothing allowance comes out of money that belongs to the British people. (Money that we desperately need right now after our foolish exercise in democracy). I don’t care if she “recycles” things, but I absolutely do get to criticise her for spending thousands on D&G lace crap when she does fewer than 100 engagements a year.

      • KiddVicious says:

@Sarah Kate is not skeletal. We see muscle on her, not bones. Yes, she has a low body fat %, lots of women who are athletic or workout a lot do, that doesn’t mean they have an eating disorder.

  44. Tough Cookie says:

She does look happy. Must have been promised a shopping excursion afterwards.

  45. AnotherDirtyMartini says:

She looks gorgeous. I even love the outfit.
