Justin Theroux was cast (rather suddenly) in Duncan Jones’ new film Mute last month. Theroux is back to being an actor for hire, having finished filming on The Leftovers’ final season, so it’s no surprise that he’s trying to hustle some more film work. Mute sounds like an interesting project too. But! Justin had to fly to Berlin to start work on it right away. He’s been in Berlin for a few weeks, and the tabloids have been making a big deal about how Justin and Jennifer Aniston are spending even more time apart these days.
Still, Justin Theroux is on message. Justin has been on his Instagram, posting images of street art and graffiti he sees in Berlin. He posted this image of some Berlin graffiti over the weekend:
Do you see it? On the right side of the image, adjacent to the woman’s cheek, it’s there. “F-CK BRAD PITT.” Brad Pitt is being cited as one of the many things that need to f—k off, apparently, along with war, politics, racism, cocaine, imperialism, taxes, NSA, Facebook, nukes and pickles. Obviously, Justin’s followers and commenters are going crazy. Do you think he even realized that “Brad Pitt” is in there? Hm… I think he did realize it. And I think he posted it anyway. ANARCHY!

Every episode bears re-watching, I think. Somehow, it manages to be super-clever without being up its own backside and that is a very fine line.

Ok it’s important to tell you that at first viewing, season 1 starts off dark, slow and viewing can seem a little chore-like (lol)
It may seem like nothing in the story connects. Don’t let that deter you.
The Leftovers really begins to get great about mid season and then there is some excellent story telling, amazing performances (love Carrie Coon & Anne Dowd) and a great season ending.
Season 2 is almost a perfect a viewing experience. SO GOOD.

You guys convinced me and I am going to start watching. I am hoping he doesn’t wear too many tight pants in it though……I still can’t get the image of the one time I saw him like that out of my head. On second thought, it’s not such a bad image so I’m good. And I commit to a full two seasons!
THIS. It’s one of my favorites and I’m so BUMMED it will only be on for one more season. Every episode the acting just gets better… I honestly can’t decide who my favorite is.

I know he got embarrassed at the start of his relationship with Aniston when that actor he knew put him on blast for saying Justin thought Angelina was the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen, but maybe he’s got some obsession where the only reason he’s even with Aniston is to be a few degrees from Angelina (or Brad…who knows?) . Lol
It’s sad because it seems like many people in Aniston’s inner circle over the years seem to invariably have a need to associate themselves with her ex and/or Angelina. Maybe they’re with her for that very reason. I remember John Mayer doing some weird performance art about ‘Brad Pitt’ too. Strange-o.
Now this? Sorry but I don’t get it. I don’t think it’s funny or even very good or interesting graffiti. The whole point of his gram seems to be to get press attention via indirect association with ‘Brad Pitt’ (shocker) what his wife and her friends have done for years. He’s learned well from Aniston and her PR guru.
When are they finally going to get called out for the obvious? Really tired of this BS, about.. ‘oh Jen doesn’t care…or Jen’s probably teamjolie too.’ How many times does she get to complain about the tabloid narratives and associations w/the Jolie Pitts, only to have her best friends and partners coattail, name drop, and/or attack or say passive aggressive stuff about Brad and Angie, which invariably links them in the press and gets them mad coverage.
Which of course is the point.
Theroux learned that when he commented on Brad and Angelina’s family when he was promoting a recent flop movie. Instead of the two views his interview would have gotten from just his own mom and Aniston, he got thousands of hits and pieces written about ‘What Jen’s new husband is saying about Brangelina!’
He plays the coat tail game just like Aniston now.
I admire how clever Justin is, and the constant support for his wife. I cannot imagine the inside info. Justin has regarding the Jen/Brangalina drama. Justin has probably been exercising a great deal of class and restraint for years.

Even though he has tried to minimize or use schematics to make it not sounds so bad ( ex. they weren’t nose to nose) what he did was enough that DCFS not only investigate the initial abuse but has decided to expand their investigation to look into abuse of the other kids. @Luca76: Pitt’s in tragic circumstances because of his own actions. Also, Polanski and Woody Allen are also icons but that doesn’t change what they did and doesn’t mean people that don’t have icon status can’t shade them, so the same should go for Brad.
@jinni what he’s accused of in no way compares to Woody Allen or Roman Polanski or Theroux’s good friend Terry Richardson. Its a situation of his own making yes but sadly many people suffering from addiction go down that path. If he gets help maybe he can mend his family. Just writing him off writes off many of the people in our lives who are faulted and need help not scorn.

It kind of seems that BP and JT could be friends. JT seems to be the type of intellectual, motorcycle riding, leather wearing hipster that BP would admire. Plus, JT makes movies. BP loves to make movies. But there is the whole JA thing and it would just be a little too weird for JT and BP to be friends, even though I think it happens in normal relationships occasionally. I have several friends who are friendly with their exes because the ex and their current partners are friendly, in some cases even tight.

Seems to me that Brad s anger issues and heavy Drinking really began over the last year. In my life experience men act out when they get caught doing something they shouldn’t. I think yes he may have been angry and verbally abusive to his family but it is guilt over getting caught cheating. I think after Angelina s rough last two years she cut him some slack for awhile but she is not cutting any slack when it comes to her kids. Angelina deserves to be treated better.
