I think she said before that she needs a man who is fairly assertive. She’s mentioned that most guys are intimidated by her, and that she’s lonely, so I don’t know if its self esteem.

i think the problem is that guys her age are intimidated by her and she may prefer a guy who is assertive enough to pursue her. so she gets the older more confident guys, who are maybe not as hot as a young guy (and possibly skeevy). but they are talented and smart and those qualities are very attractive to women – and particularly for a young woman like her.
Male models? Aronofsky is more likely to be smarter than a bunch of male models.
Male models are too busy drowning in other models. I doubt they’re impressed with JLaw after spending their days around Joan Smalls, Shanina Shaik and the likes.

He actually met Rachel Weisz while she was performing a stage production back in 2001. She was in his movie “The Fountain,” but that wasn’t until the mid-2000s. There are rumors about Natalie Portman and the paternity of her child that have never been verified.
I do find it somewhat tragic as well. She’s young, pretty, rich, and on the top of the world. Maybe she is okay with having short-term relationships with older not so very attractive men. Hope she’s getting something out of it, but I think the men are benefitting much more from these relationships than JLaw. If she’s not looking for a long-term relationship or marriage, it would make more sense if she got a hot man her age, and there are plenty in her social circles in LA, NYC, and London.
I am grossed out by many older guys who look like your Dad’s friends trying to hit on you. But the older guys Jen is dating are cute to me and don’t have that dirty old man look. They look young and hip. Maybe we have the same tastes in looks though I always preferred dating guys in my age group.

It just seems that when a celebrity Is the older woman in the romance ,the partner can be in his 20’s and the older woman gets applauded by some.
I don’t like the J-LO and Casper romance (I think J-Lo could do better), but I wonder if there is less of an aversion to older woman relationships because the women still look good? The women maintain themselves well, and look just as good as the men they’re dating.
I don’t think Aronofsky in particular looks bad or anything, but when you see someone like Billy Joel with a younger woman it does look visually off.

Found out today that Michael Buble and Luisana Lopilato’s son Noah has been diagnosed with cancer. He’s only three years old. Awful, awful news.
I read that too 🙁 Heartbreaking news. Children are resilient though and I’m sure Buble can afford the best care so I’m keeping it positive.
I felt so sad while reading that too. Poor little child, I sent him and all the family my best wishes for his recovery.

I don’t get the idea that Jennifer Lawrence is ‘dead-eyed and comes across so badly in interviews’. I’ve thought the exact opposite is true – and I doubt if I’m alone, given that a big chunk of her fame is based on how good she is in interview situations.
I also think the negative reaction to this relationship is a bit overhyped. She wouldn’t be the first female star to prefer a smart and massively talented older man to an immature guy in his twenties.
I never got the appeal with her either, but she must have something, her movies do great box office and she’s making bank!

Older men and younger women who date look gross together, like father and daughter. Something down in my reptilian brain finds it repulsive. Girls, date young men while you can! You have all of your middle and old age to date geezers.
This is why I don’t hate so much on the few older women who date younger men. I’m in my early 30s and a co-worker tried to set me up with a man over 50. I’m thinking, you would NEVER set up a guy my age with a menopausal woman. NEVER. Yet our society thinks that for some reason old pepaws are entitled to young women under the age of 35. Luckily I’m aging well. Someone yesterday thought I was still in my 20s. I have guys ranging in age from their early 20s to late 30s who are still into me and want to date me. I think I have a good 15 years before I need to be desperate enough to date a man who is old enough to have grandchildren. Unless an old guy has millions of dollars in the bank and wants to date me in exchange for paying off my student loan debt and buying me nice things, no thanks. I’m enjoying every last bit of youth I have left in me.

Ramona, I’ve met many men 20+ years older than me that are waaaaaaaaaaaaay sexier, smarter, more compassionate and understanding than any man close to my age (mid 20s-30s). I don’t see this being the case with Darren because of his known rep but I do get the appeal.
