Here’s a brief timeline of Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony’s respective splits. Lopez broke up with boy toy Casper Smart in August, (and he hung around for a while because he didn’t want to give up the lifestyle but eventually left her mansion after she cut him off financially). Then in October we heard that Lopez and her last ex husband, Marc Anthony, were making an album together. The two performed together at the Latin Grammy Awards a couple of weeks ago and were affectionate on stage, right after which we heard that Marc had split with his model wife of two years, Shannon De Lima. So cue the inevitable stories that Marc wants Jennifer back. This is being run in US, which usually has a publicist’s blessing. This begs the question – did Jennifer or Marc sanction this?
The Latin singer is “still in love” with Lopez, 47, a source exclusively reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly, and he “is trying to get back together with her.”
Though sources tell Us that Anthony’s marriage to De Lima, 28, had long been troubled, the insider says “as soon as he heard Jennifer split with Casper, he wanted out…”
The parents of 8-year-old twins Max and Emme are currently collaborating on Lopez’s untitled Spanish-language album, which Anthony is producing. The duo “have magic when they sing together,” says the pal. “That’s how they came together last time. There is just this chemistry between them.”
That chemistry was evident at the Latin Grammys. The former spouses sang a Spanish duet of “Olvídame y Pega la Vuelta,” which will be on their upcoming album. After their performance, the star of the Las Vegas residency “All I Have” presented Anthony with the Person of the Year award, and as the crowd chanted “beso” — meaning “kiss” in Spanish — they locked lips. In her speech, Lopez said: “Marc is a living legend. He is a magical and pure artist giving away classics that will stay forever. He will always be many things in my life.”
If he has his way, Anthony’s new role would be her lover. And though a Lopez source insists the “Ain’t Your Mama” singer is “happily single” and has “no plans” to rekindle the romance with her ex-husband, the source concedes, “She did make beautiful music with Marc!”
Jennifer opened up a couple of years ago about being in a controlling relationship. She didn’t name names but was widely believed that she was referring to Marc. Those kind of relationships can be addictive, and many people equate jealousy and control with love and concern. Jennifer is the kind of person who can’t stand to be alone though so I can see her romanticizing her past with Marc and forgetting about the bad times. I hope that US’s source is right and that she won’t take him back. It’s better to be single and in control than “in love” and walking on eggshells hoping to please a controlling partner. I may be wrong about Marc, but that’s the impression I get.

I believe it he dumped a different wife for her after years of being friend zoned when she gave him a chance on the rebound from Ben Affleck. I think he’s obsessed. Totally believable that he’s controlling and possibly worse.

I’m with Luca76- any woman can be abused. And control- not outright physical or other easily pinned mental abuse- can mess with any woman’s head. Any woman. Then it can escalate to other forms of abuse. It’s a slippery slope that happens and it doesn’t have to do with the woman or her personality. And isn’t this why she left him after having two young kids with him? She didn’t “put up with it” but I do hate that term.
Wasn’t Marc Anthony the the popular guess for the abusive “Caesar Anchovy-Arse” and J-Lo for his wife, “Strippa Rip-Ya” in the old Ted Casablanca blinds?
It was Dayanara Torres, Ms Universe in the 90s, that he left for Jennifer. I have always thought of Marc being obsessed with Jennifer.
I think they really suit each other in that they like being dramatic and passionate. I know it sounds like a soap opera but some people can’t quit a relationship because the fights sometimes make them feel more alive. Anyway, maybe it’s difficult to love Jen (or Mark) but it is not that difficult to be in love with Jennifer. I mean look at her. She’s hot, she can dance, she has a nice body. She earns her own money. So yeah she hustles more than the average bimbo.
What is it with wealthy, successful, talented women that can’t be alone for five seconds or insist on partnering up with controlling man-boys?
Probably because they’re the sort of people that want success in an industry that depends on people liking them? Doesn’t speak to the best self esteem.

“Crypt-Kepper” made me laugh out loud. I looked at his pic and actually thought of him trying to be really dirty sexy and just shook my head. Jenny sees something I do not in that one.
Um, how many marriages is this for him? Surely Jennifer must remember why they divorced. Why would she take up with him again? Why would a rich, successful woman be so needy and keep taking back these douchbags? Is it because Mark is her kids’ dad? She seems very mixed up.
Remember how she all but disappeared when she was married to him and was all over the place when they split up? I always suspected it was because he was too controlling to let her out of his sight
Marc Anthony sucks. He’s hideous, isn’t relevant outside of the Latin American market, and apparently has a Napoleon complex. Stay away, Jenny!
I don’t believe it. He even said he really liked Casper, thought he was good with the twins. He and Casper did seem to get along great. If he was so hung up on Jen after the divorce, a guy like Marc would have shown jealousy. I think he moved on fine.

Marc has always been Jennifer’s backup. She hooked up with him after her divorce from Ojani when she was also trying to get into the singing market and what better way than to hook up with Marc who was already well established in the Latin music genre. She quickly disposed of him when an even better opportunity came along and she hooked up with Diddy who could put her on to the even larger urban, American market. But that hot too real with the shootout and she left. She was then being courted by Ben and I think he was the one she was truly smitten with. But he humiliated her and then went back to Mr Backup once again, not caring that he was married at the time with Ms Puerto Rico/Universe with young kids in the picture. Now here we are again. After the rumors that Casper was really a gold-digging twink, she needed to desperately be with someone else and started chatting up her newly married ex again. They both annoy me to no end.
I agree. Everybody talks about how awful Marc is but Jennifer is known to dispose of people. She’s a really cruel and horrible person, the real surprise here would be why anybody wants to be near her.
Why did they list the ages of the women and not him? Hmm…maybe it’s in the original article. LOL. I love his singing voice, but there was a reason they divorced. Hopefully one or both will remember. BTW, how many marriages is he up to?

He remarried, she didn’t. After that kiss (which didn’t look like much to me) , he made sure to say on stage that he loved her like a sister. Then to further reiterate that there was nothing behind that kiss, he posted multiple pictures of himself kissing both women and men. And now I am supposed to believe that he has been pining away for her all this time?Ehhhhhh. Unless I hear it from Marc Anthony himself, I’m not buying it.
