Molly Sims & her husband Scott welcomed son Grey Douglas Stuber

Baby Friday! What a great way to go into the weekend โ€“ with happy, little baby toes. Today’s Baby Friday is compliments of Molly Sims and husband Scott Stuber. On Tuesday, Grey Douglas Stuber joined sister Scarlet May, one and a half, and brother Brooks Alan, four.

As you may remember, Molly announced her third pregnancy last August. She later told People that she suffered severe weight gain during her first pregnancy only to discover an undiagnosed thyroid issue four months after giving birth to Brooks. Between the thyroid and her being of advanced maternal age, thankfully all went smoothly for Molly and everyone is healthy and, as you can see, beautiful. Obviously she fluffed up a bit before taking that Instagram pic but having met Molly a few times now, I can tell you that she really is that pretty. In addition to her lifestyle website, Molly has a YouTube channel that reflects whatโ€™s going on in her world. She covered much of her pregnancy including morning sickness remedies and fertility so I imagine tricks and tips of being a mom of three under five will feature prominently. I know a lot of women who will appreciate that.

So how are we feeling about Grey Douglas as his name? I like it. It matches Brooks in its solemnity. And Scarlett and Grey are colors so – that’s kind of cute. Apparently both Molly and Scott took their naming seriously. Molly said that Scott was addicted to Nameberry. Back in October, the names being considered were: Stella, Ruby, Marlow, Mya and Mia for a girl and Wesley, Finley, Dutch and Wilder for a boy. All those names are great but oh! Dutch Stuber – I could write an entire biography on Dutch Stuber right now. However, clearly there was a dark horse and its name was Grey. And there he is, all pink faced and adorable and toes that need me to come nibble them. Congratulations to the whole Stuber-Sims family.

Is it just me or does Grey look a little disappointed in that top pic? Like maybe they aren’t getting his good side?

It’ll suit him when he’s old.

She has a beautiful face. I find the American habit of using either last names as first names (Brooks) or an object/item/concept (Grey) a little predictable these days. If you want your kid to really stand out, just name him John or Dave. I have an Arthur and a Harry in my class of 7 year olds this year and I find them both to be a charming change.

Agreed. I like it when kids have plain names. It’s refreshing. I have a friend who had twins in the NICU for a few weeks and she named them the most basic names (John and Thomas) and EVERYONE in the NICU made such a fuss over how refreshing it was. I would walk through the room they were in and see the other baby names – at least two Bentleys! – and shake my head.

    I love the name.

Pretty sure that’s a c-section baby – though it is her third so maybe labor went quickly.
My little girl looked like H R Giger’s Alien when she was born.

You never know. When my daughter was born (and it was a long labor so god only knows why she wasn’t all bruised up) the nurses told me she looked like a c-section baby because she was so pretty and unmarked. Her brothers who followed didn’t look quite so good-which is weird since those labors were so much shorter.

Can someone please explain to me the weirdo habit women have of making comments about wanting to “bite” or “nibble” on baby body parts? I just honestly don’t understand it and it is really, really strange to me.
