Prince William is ‘back on shift’ at the EAAA following his drunken ski trip

Duke of Cambridge, Patron of SkillForce, officially launches the charity's new award programme, The Prince William Award (PWA), while visiting a primary school in Wales

I’m enjoying the indignant royal-beat reporters and all of their shade for Prince William. Good. I hope William’s Swiss “lads only” vacation is the straw that broke the camel’s back. I hope that we are living in a new era of how William and Kate are covered, specifically how the British media covers them. But that won’t happen, I know that already. A slightly tarnished but still-liked royal is better for the British press. They want the freedom to mock and shame William, but they also have a vested interest in building him back up, just as they have a vested interest in making Kate sound like the most beautiful and fashionable princess in all the land.

So how has William responded to all of the criticism? He returned home from Verbier on Monday night, and on Wednesday, he was back “on shift” at the EAAA. I’m actually a little bit shocked that Poor Suffering Jason didn’t organize a “man of action” photoshoot for Will in his helicopter. But people are still buzzing about his holiday, because of course they are. There’s a second shady video of William’s sad, drunken dance moves. The Daily Mail got the exclusive video, which you can see here:

The Daily Mail notes that “At the end of the clip he started to talk to a woman wearing a black dress who appeared to tap him on the back before he put his hand on her waist. She then put her hand on his arm and the pair seemed to begin to talk as people continued to dance nearby.” Hm. So was it a lads-only trip or was a lads’ trip so they could all pick up some strange? Unknown.

You know what bugs me about the dance videos? Like, obviously, this is a not a good look. He’s a 34 year old father of two small kids, and he still behaves like one of the “lads,” day-drinking with underwear models and skipping work events to go skiing. What bugs me is that now people are like “oh, look at his dorky dad dancing, he deserves a vacation!” No. He does not deserve a vacation. He’s only worked 13 days as a prince, and probably less than that as a pilot this year. Don’t be fooled by the cringe-worthy dance moves. This is NOT cute.

Wife and two small kids at home, blowing off work commitments, drunk in the club, and random women around? I’d be pissed if I was the poor soul hitched to man-child William. He’s an embarrassment.

    • Jenns says:

Seriously. This looks so bad. His entire life is a vacation.

      • lavnbb says:

If he ever becomes a joke like the Queen’s Uncle ,the Duke of Windsor, his PR Team will have to work overtime to rebuild his image.

      • Who ARE These People? says:

Much more esteem for the Royals back when the Duke was forced out…there won’t be any cover for Workshy Will.

    • lavnbb says:

A friend told me a French magazine is reporting unhappiness, separate lives in the marriage, Is someone leaking ?

      • Tina says:

Niraj Tanna has just tweeted “oh dear… kiss and tell on the way?” and has said that we will need to wait until Sunday. I wonder which paper it is.

      • Lorelai says:

How do they possibly think this can stay under wraps for four days??

    • alfaQ says:

I doubt that he spends much time with Kate and the kids anyway.

      • Goats on the Roof says:

That’s not really my point. This looks straight up terrible to any reasonable person.

And now they’ve started floating the “Diana’s death made him do it,” excuses. Blech. Poorly thought out and exploitative.

      • Nic919 says:

I guess they forget that Harry also lost his mother and was even younger when it happened ? Harry has done much more charity wise from a far younger age and won’t be the future king.
Maybe William is just a jerk?

  2. ABC says:

And while we’re at it can everyone please remember this guy is a CO-pilot, not a pilot. He’s not qualified to fly these things on his own (and wears glasses but that’s another story). EAAA had to get a special helicopter to allow him to fly as he needs to take a qualified pilot plus his protection officers along with him. This is a vanity project for William, another thing to play with till he gets bored and doesn’t show up. Has he ever worked over Christmas? Nope! His poor colleagues must be sick of the sight of him.

    • MunichGirl says:

People made fun of Wills and the obvious damage control when the papers published all the “he’s at work again” articles yesterday.

      • Where'sMyTiara says:

GOOD! I’m glad they’re calling out the bogus PR ploy. The journalists *should* be calling out “Poor Jason”, the one-trick-pony of PR coverups. It’s beyond ridiculous, that they even try to spin this.

Wills is an adult. He f-cked up. He needs to own that and apologize to the nation. Harry, from the time he was a teen, was forced to do just that.

Facing the damage instead of trying to control it and spin it – THAT builds character. THAT fosters humility. THAT, endears you to the people.

Heavens. I’m all out of popcorn. What flavour shall I make today? AHHHH…

@ABC EAAA did not purchase a helicopter for William. It was purchased four years in advance and was paid for with banking fines.

      http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-31942806

      • LAK says:

Megan: that article is talking about two different helicopters. It starts off by announcing the order of a bigger helicopter (large enough for parent and child) to be paid from banking fines to be received in January 2016 (article date March 2015). Head of EAAA says very clearly this is a one off purchase.

The same article then discusses another helicopter ordered 4 years prior to be received in April 2015.

With regards the earlier purchased helicopter, William lobbied Cameron back in 2011 ( announced in the 2011 budget) to fund Search and rescue services which resulted in VAT relief for all such services as well as air ambulance services.

Further, the air ambulance services were given £7.5M to share between them. Most of them appear to have used the funds to purchase new helicopters. That timeline explains the helicopter ordered in 2011 to arrive in April 2015.

The new one off purchase of a bigger helicopter to arrive in January 2016, by EAAA alone rather than all air ambulance services aligns with William starting work at EAAA.

        http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2857980/Search-Rescue-charities-VAT-refunds-Government-cash-following-lobbying-Prince-William.html

The BBC article ignores all the media reports that said EAAA needed a bigger helicopter because his RPO has to fly with him.

It also ignores yhe fact that William is a CO-pilot rather than a solo pilot. Another reason for a bigger helicopter.

      • notasugarhere says:

Yes, LAK. Plus that bigger EAAA-specific helo came after public outcry about his RPOs taking the places of paid paramedics in a smaller helo. In addition to taking other people’s jobs, they would worry more about William than the patient.

      • Joannie says:

That helicopter was badly needed and was paid for by charitable donations because William signed on. It wasnt specifically for William because he wears glasses. He’s leaving to move to London and the helicopter stays. I’V been told by those in the know, he works his shift like eveyone else and donates his pay to charity. You cant simply dismiss that. His position will most likely be taken over by another when he leaves. It’s been a win win for all.

      • LAK says:

Joannie: In the overall scheme of things, i think EAAA won too. What’s sad about the entire situation is that it took William joining them before they received a much needed resource. That’s failure of govt rather than William’s fault.

It’s known that donations have increased to that particular charity because William joined them. It’s unclear how much of a boost the entire industry received as a result of William’s hire even though there is a direct boost for EAAA.

That said, the bigger helo for William wasn’t because he was going to pilot/ co-pilot the thing. It was needed to accomodate his RPO.

Simultaneously EAAA needed a bigger helo to accomodate patient + one relative (and medics).

The two disparate needs worked out well for everyone because EAAA got it’s bigger helo and William could accomodate his RPO.

And going forward, post William, they have 2 extra spaces in the helo.

      • notasugarhere says:

Joannie, please take the time to read the article LAK referenced. The bigger helo for that EAAA location was paid for by taxpayer funds after William leaned on the government for it.

      • Joannie says:

Nota Lak’s comment wasnt there when I commented but she responded quite nicely I thought. Your comment to me was completely unnecessary.

      • notasugarhere says:

Merely pointing out that articles showcase the facts you were so adamant weren’t true.

      • Where'sMyTiara says:

And the reason he is the Co-pilot and not the pilot? It’s because he didn’t have enough career flight hours logged from his time in the RAF – because he was always slacking off and not showing up for duty! Yes, he also has to take a test too, but even if he passed that, the feckless idiot man-child does not meet the minimum flight hours requirement to be a full pilot.

An air ambulance company may require its pilots to have a minimum of 1000 hours flight time.

To give you an idea of how long that might take – I don’t have the figures for British Aviation rules, but in the US, the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) sets rules on how many hours pilots can fly in a given period.

Federal Aviation Regulation puts a limitation for 1,000 hours in any 365 consecutive calendar day period, but there is also a limit of 100 hours in any 672 consecutive hours (28 days). So if you take 28 days as = 1 month, you can earn 1200 hrs of flight time in 1 year. Which is 200 more hours than Workshy McDouchebro needs to qualify to take the Air Ambulance’s pilot exams.

You would THINK, that serving in the RAF, doing search and rescue, would have been enough. Failing that, he could have racked up more hours by certifying as a flight instructor – many go this route, because teaching others to fly is a good way to rack up flight hours. Which would have been a good filler; search and rescue squadrons depend on call-outs, and there could be stretches where they’re at the ready but not called upon to fly, which would hinder flight hours accumulation. By supplementing that with flying activities in other quarters, Wills could have absolutely made up the difference.

The issue has never been one of opportunity with Workshy. The issue has always been one of application, of endeavour. Which is worrisome, when the future of the UK and 15 other nations who share the same Head of State are destined to be in his hands.

I’ve noticed that many newspapers don’t care anymore. They start to call the young royals out on being so work-shy, lazy etc.

    • Megan says:

Skipping Commonwealth Day to go skiing was just plain stupid. William is so lazy and entitled he simply does not get it. No amount of bad press is going to influence his actions.

      • lavnbb says:

Skiing and partying with women involved and it was as if he didn’t care that any of it would get back to the public. I still can’t figure out if he’s arrogant, spoilt, or crying out that he is not happy, maybe even not happy in his marriage.
        Just wondering?

      • Who ARE These People? says:

Or all of the above! Can an spoiled, arrogant ‘lad’ be happy in any part of his life? It’s not his marriage – it’s him.

    • Whaaaaaaatttt? says:

Is there anything that will ever be done? He has been workshy for years, right? And it seems he just doesn’t care – even when he gets bad press. Is this just how it will be?

      • Melly says:

He gets bad press for a week then he’ll release a pic of the kids or a pic of him working as a co-piolet. The press always lets him off the hook for his bad behavior.

      • Where'sMyTiara says:

It’s stunning, isn’t it? HOW did the POW, the most workaholic heir to the throne anyone’s seen in ages, manage to spawn such a lazy dilettante?

  4. lower-case deb says:

i hope he’s no longer hungover or lacking sleep. this last ditch attempt at facesaving reeks desperation.

when can we expect a “deliberate pap photo” of William heroically saving someone from the door of his helicopter like the last time?

or stories of him helping some fictional person on the ski slope.

his poor PR team must be turning gray or bald or both.

  5. Digital Unicorn (aka Betti) says:

Hello PR stunts we see you! Just wait for those ‘man of action’ shots from Jason, they are coming along with ‘papped’ shots of him with the family. There has been quite a few engagements announced for the next few weeks. We only see a flurry of work from these 2 when they’ve been shamed by the press.

Harry was with his father yesterday giving out medals to the Gurkha’s who ARE hero’s, not pretend co-pilots whenever they can be bothered to show up for ‘work’.

The UK press are really going for him over this – they’ve been waiting for something like this for a long time. This is what happens when you troll, bait and threaten the media. Harry and his Vegas trip didn’t get these kind of headlines but then again everyone knows Harry works hard and works with the press when it comes to his work – his private life is a different matter. The difference being he was cut some slack because of it.

As for the ski trip – the floodgates opened and am sure that there are more videos to come. I wonder what Granny thinks now – will this force her to do something about them? I hope so, its been a long time coming.

    • Sixer says:

See, this is my conspiracy theory of the day.

The wheels are coming off the Brexit bus so obviously now that our rabidly right wing press desperately needs a new distraction target. Hence, all of a sudden, the stuff Normal Bill does ALL THE BLOODY TIME is suddenly seeing the light of day. While we’re looking at this, we’re not looking at our democracy falling apart.

Tin foil hat, I know. But prove me wrong!

      • Digital Unicorn (aka Betti) says:

Oh yeah I agree that it is a distraction but its also payback time. Can’t think of a nicer/deserving person to be the brunt of the distraction. I’m a mean person, i know.

This whole drama amuses me, esp they way his PR team are trying to rescue the situation. I used to work in PR and its being handled hilariously badly. Having a bit of light entertainment at the moment is welcome. I’m trying to extract myself a little from politics, keep arguing with friends and family about it.

Democracy and liberal values are being destroyed around the world – are the Russians behind it or the alt-right? In my opinion probably both with these groups being funded by the Russians. You know these alt-right groups are doing what ISIS isn’t – destabilising Western democracy and liberal values.

      • Sixer says:

I am more than happy for him to be thrown under the bus!

If they reported these shenanigans every time he partook, we’d have had these stories three or four times a year ever since he got married.

I think the timing is always interesting when we get to hear about the minority of incidents that get reported. Sometimes it’s a feud between him and the press, but sometimes I also think it’s because the press wants to distract us from something entirely not-Royal.

      • Digital Unicorn (aka Betti) says:

PS. I also meant to add that with all the weak leaders and chaos, who is standing in the shadows waiting to emerge as the ‘strong leader’. Yep that’s right, Putin. He’s spent years and billions working up to this, his version of the USSR will be just like the plot from ‘Man in the high Castle’.

@Sixer – I do agree. Just look at how David and Wallis were treated before the outbreak of WW2. it was quite rare that any stories (negative or otherwise) of those 2 were printed by the UK press and when they were it was used to distract from what was happening on the mainland.

There were stories like this before he got married but the press backed off once the ring was on her finger. Some deal was probably made, there usually is. He’s basically drunkenly stumbled into a PR nightmare of his own making, particularly when he was touted just a few weeks ago as being a Brexit ambassador. Whatever that is. Aren’t they visiting Poland soon to build ‘post Brexit relationships”? Poor Poland.

      • Megan says:

Trump didn’t do anything overtly outrageous, racist, illegal, or otherwise vulgar this week so William is the current distraction. William need not worry, Trump will undoubtedly blow his top over the rejection of his Muslin ban.

      • Lyssa says:

Digital Unicorn (or anyone really), do you think it’s incompetent PR people, Will thinking he is as good with the media as his mom, or a mix? I’m just curious. I’d also be curious if his PR team got the job because they had the same approach as Will & Kate… I’m not in PR at all and never was, but even I’m going “what are you doing??”

      • Sixer says:

Megan – that’s EXACTLY where I’m at. Trump is the usual tactic currently: “we all told you to vote Brexit and now it’s gone to shit, we’d like you to look at this instead”. You’re right: the Fail et al will be back to him next week and Normal Bill can have his next posh-bro escapade unreported as usual.

That said, I think the others are right too: there are periodic chain yankings by the press over the way Bill treats them.

      • Digital Unicorn (aka Betti) says:

@Lyssa – its really a mix of 2 things. 1) working for 2 people who won’t take your advice, thinking they know better than you (some people think the W&K listen to Carole’s PR advice but she’s no PR genius either) and 2) their PR team is made up of young and relatively inexperienced people, people who don’t necessarily have the gravitas to manage such high profile people and be able to tell them straight. Its long been reported that W&K have surrounded themselves with young yes people.

      • LAK says:

Lyssa: they wouldn’t hire anyone who wasn’t a yes man, including PR team. That has led to a team that is spectacularly incompetent without the ability to stir the ship right because that might mean speaking up and or insisting they do their duties.

And William frequently brags * in interviews* that he ignores advice given to him, preferring his own instincts. Dude is deluded in thinking he inherited his mother’s instincts, BUT this particular trait is his mother’s legacy because she was famous or infamous for not listening to advise. Whilst Diana had generally good instincts, her refusal to follow advice frequently led to spectacular own goals.

In WK’s case, the media and the establishment aren’t pointing out the incompetence eg those poorly written letters to their patronages or poorly thoughtout policy points for their initiatives or how they carry out their duties or just having a consistent and regular work schedule etc etc and so forth, it has led to confidence in their own abilities.

      • notasugarhere says:

Sixer, if I ever manage to snag the Steel Cut Tiara from the Swedish royal collection, I’ll loan it to you as your tin foil hat.

      • Lady D says:

Hey nota, if you’re snagging tiaras, I’d like the Teck. I thought the Teck tiara was about 300 years old. I didn’t realize it was so relatively new and created by QE’s grandmother.
I spent about 3 hours last night reading about ancient kings of the British Isles. The articles went back to the year 849. Fascinating reading.

      • notasugarhere says:

I really like the Teck too. I’m hoping that whomever Harry marries, that is the one assigned to her. I’d like it to see the light of day (or sparkling candlelight) again.

      • WendyNerd says:

I’d like to order the Edward VII, please!

    • lavnbb says:

I think the reason the press went after him with this one is they got tired of William’s moaning about them*while they have really been SOFT on him) and his hypocrisy and tired up building up a false image of him as the golden prince when all he does is smack them in the face with complaints at every chance he gets. The UK Press has bent over backwards for William and Kate. Tanna allegedly can barely go near them now to get a photo without a legal warning of some kind and this is the guy who helped MAKE Kate and her family in the press. William has slapped too many hands , hands that were protecting his image for a long time, hiding things like his partying and building him up.

      • Nic919 says:

A few months ago there were Twitter comments from the press where they said William ignores the press when he gets to events, even blowing off direct “hellos” made by the media. His rudeness has been pissing them off for a while, so it’s not like he doesn’t deserve it.

Harry was much nicer to the press when he did his trip in the Caribbean. Sometimes not being a rude ass pays off.

      • notasugarhere says:

There is a quote from Harry, something about how you have to give back and you can’t just stand there. Some Harry fans think it is about him using his position for good. Nice interpretation, but the quote was taken out of context. iirc it came from a conversation about working with the media to give everyone a good story about royal work.

Harry may resent the press intruding into his personal life as much as William. But he understand they have a job to do during his public engagements, so he tends to work with them during those times. Playing with Arthur Edwards, “cheating” against Usain Bolt, off-the-record pub nights with the press during tours, etc.

    • Luca76 says:

If I recall correctly once Fergie came into the picture the press turned on Charles and Di and slowly starting exposing the cracks in the marriage. So if Harry stays single they’ll stay relatively soft on them. Like I’m suspecting they chose not to show him dancing with that lady model.
Now if Harry marries the press won’t need to preserve their image as much then they’ll open the vault l. (Just my guess).

  6. Talie says:

To me, the most offensive thing about William is this job. It’s like Marie Antoinette when she used to dress up as a peasant and perform for her rich friends. Like, stop “playing” at being middle class. Just deal with your reality.

    • INeedANap says:

To be fair, she was an under-educated teenager with little access to the outside world and zero preparation for being a queen. Work-shy Will is a 30-some year old man with the best education the world can offer and plenty of access to reality.

      • Nic919 says:

And in an era where class differences actually were enforced. Since the end of the 19th century no one actually things that people who call themselves royalty are actually better or more important people. It is a world which believes that all people are equal, even if in practice that doesn’t always happen. And it has been this way well before William was born. He may have been kept in a bubble, but it’s time to face reality. His dad seems to understand this for the most part, not sure why he refuses to.

      • LAK says:

I sympathise with Marie-Antoinette as far as the falsehoods perpetuated against her, BUT i can’t give her a pass considering her mother was the formidable Marie-Theresa of Austria.

Marie-Theresa, despite being the heir to the throne, was never educated in the affairs of state or in general because her father always hoped for a boy and never hid his disappointment that his heir was female.

Marie-Theresa was as lost as Marie-Antionette when she inherited the throne, but she rose to the challenge.

Similarly women like Catherine the Great, Catherine Medici, Katherine of Aragon ( to name afew) were thrust into foreign countries, having to learn new language, culture etc and none bungled it as spectacularly as Marie-Antoinette.

And i agree with Talie. William is using EAAA to act out his own Petit Trainon

  7. MunichGirl says:

“oh, look at his dorky dad dancing, he deserves a vacation!” – I read the comments on the DM articles, there are still more negative than positive comments. People are tired of them, most people don’t say anything because of the Queen. That’ll change after she’s gone.

  11. AfricanBoy says:

Some peepz said we should stop criticizing him because he lost his mother at a young age – they will always just see Diana’s son and not the lazy, work-shy, spoiled man-child that he really is.

    • lavnbb says:

Yup, for some it will always be the go to excuse for him. Diana.

Some are even trying to blame Harry for his partying in Verbier, when Harry was at the Commonwealth event. I just don’t get people trying to excuse things William does that are wrong. He should have been at the Commonwealth event. imo

I love tabloid puns. They are always specatacular.

      • Sixer says:

Even I love the tabloids for their puns, if for little else. I also love British Twitter for responding to any catastrophe, no matter how bad, with a punning hashtag. Puns are the best distractions of all!

      • bluhare says:

There’s nothing better than a great tabloid pun headline. I love them!

I have no idea who the people in their royal PR teams are but they’re doing a bad job.

    • HappyMom says:

But look what they have to work with! You also have to be willing to listen to your PR people. When you’re a “brilliant PR strategist” like William, this is what you get.

    • LA Elle says:

Yep. This is horrible optics: He’s back doing the hobby he does to avoid his actual job. Would have just been better to have him lay low until his next Royal gig.

    • mary mary says:

The pr is not doing a bad job, William is 🙂

  14. Deedee says:

He won’t get in a full 4 day shift before leaving for Paris on Friday, so he’s not even working part-time for the ambulance co-pilot job. I can’t imagine what it must be like to work around him and his schedule, which takes up work hours and inconveniences the people who really do the job and don’t need a bodyguard hitching a ride. It’s ridiculous. He already has a full-time job being a royal, but he doesn’t want it. I’m also waiting for the press release about the charity which received his donated pay from this job. Haven’t seen one? I wonder why not.

  15. JaneDoesWork says:

I tend to think that Kate doesn’t expect loyalty out of William but she does expect some discretion. Even if I had that arrangement with my spouse (I don’t) I would be so hurt by this video of his hands on another womans hips.

He’s probably always cheated on her and she accepted it because of the title.

That’s what I was just thinking. She knows he does it and doesn’t care ( I mean he did it the entire time they were dating right?), she just wants him to be discreet and not embarrass her.

      • Maria says:

It was one thing if he cheated on her while they were still dating, but he is now a 34-year old husband and father of two. To me it makes a big difference, and I am sure Kate is upset, not only at his actions but that the entire world knows about it. But I agree with Kaiser, a few good family pics, and it will all be forgotten. What a loser!

    • Lady D says:

I thought the same at first about him touching her hip and then realized he was just probably trying to hear what she was saying. It could have been an innocent action. However, when she started sliding her hand on his arm, it quit being innocent.

  16. shelley* says:

As soon as the Queen goes they should just scrap this waste of my taxes…They won’t though.

  17. Deedee says:

As someone posted on another forum this morning, try reversing the roles. Put Kate on that dance floor, daydrinking with male models and skipping the Commonwealth Service. Now, why does William get a pass?

  18. Guest says:

What’s the point of having a monarchy in the 21st century?

    • Megan says:

Exactly. All they have is public opinion. Once that’s gone, they are gone too. That’s why they need to protect their reputation and stop acting like entitled celebrities.

    • addie says:

None to most people. But it keeps the privileged in a position of power, at the expense of the people.

  19. justsaying says:

Arrogant whiney William must be throwing tantrums since TMZ has published that video.

  20. Khaleesi says:

Looks like the British monarchy is slowly dying.

  21. Lainey says:

Obvious pr is obvious. He’s back at work, new engagements- Kate first to try and distract them, William to once again try and prove he works. New pictures probably for Mother’s Day. Wonder will they do like last year and go on holiday again for them. One of the most tone deaf things they did. Tried to stem workshy criticism by going on holiday.
On the other hand Paris is going to be so awkward. Which will be fun to watch. William is stubborn and sharp tempered. The papers are still writing about this so it’ll still be front of his mind. And these two are so petty and rude where the press are concerned – fireworks may explode.

    • Lisa says:

Yes. Between his bad attitude, her faux-fashion plate/flasher status and the upcoming rehashing of the nude photo scandal with a trial, this trip should be a complete sh*tshow. I can’t wait! I hope they are called out and mocked in the French press.

  22. Citresse says:

Last year the Telegraph was reporting William would be done with air ambulance by March (now). More delay tactics? William really doesn’t want to return to London it seems, yet workers keep securing KP, more renos are announced and taxpayers on the hook.

    • notasugarhere says:

He started training with/for them in March two years ago, but I think the real work contract started in June.

  23. alfaQ says:

PW is an arrogant unhappy spoiled child.

  24. Canadian Becks says:

Kate is scheduled soon for a public appearance, yes?

Most woman might give some indication of unhappiness, such as a solemn face, biting of lips, etc. But I believe Kate will combat these rumours by grinning her biggest grin and throw in a couple of mouth-wide-open “I am having SUCH a good time” guffaws.
All to put out the fire.

In a way, she has more regard for the Throne than he does.

    • lala says:

she always did that. remember their break up in 2007 or 2008? Back then she impressed me by her ability to grin no matter what. She will do it again and again. you know, CROWN and things like that can make one swallow a lot.

    • notasugarhere says:

I wouldn’t say it is regard for the throne; it is regard for the position she and her family chased for 10 years. He cheated throughout that, and she only got upset when he was caught publicly. When he strays too far, they yank him back publicly. The truth behind her solo 2 hr trip to the hospital where Tanna was waiting to expose the pregnancy while William was away with the boys, Mustique photos during the Jecca hunting trip, stories of their daughter’s first Easter at church while he was at Jecca’s wedding, etc.

That’s why I expect a story about SuperGran Carole soon, and more stories about the kids being in Pippa’s wedding. Yank him back to the Happy Families Fold that enables his behavior because they like what they get in return (money, status, fame).

      • Maria says:

I think Carole’s influence on Willy is waning. I’m not sure he is willing to listen to her anymore than he is willing to listen to his father or even to his grandmother.
Face it, she is not royal, and he can tell her to stuff it (which may not be a bad thing). He doesn’t respect his wife, why should he respect her mother? If I were him, I’d arrange a photo op with Grandpa Charles. The Middletons should stop sticking their noses in it.

  25. TyrantDestroyed says:

I don’t see the dance moves as “adorably dork”. I see them as a pre middle age crisis. It just looks pathetic. Soon the narrative we are supposed to buy will be: Poor Kate as in Poor Melania Trump, but these two women just knew what they were getting into when they married their partners.

  26. Tourmaline says:

Check out the newest Sun newspaper headline– basically clips of William dirty dancing with that “model”, something to the effect of him “gyrating” while she “slut drops” in front of him. Their words. Also he plucks her hat off her head and puts it on him.

They did a bit more than day drink in a group together and high five. Also tabs reporting she posted on Facebook that she lost her phone that nite. More pics or video to come? Or maybe his handlers confiscated it?

Also that chic Verbier nightclub looks like my basement.

    • Canadian Becks says:

She “lost” her phone might also be an excellent cover for pictures & videos to come, but don’t blame her, because she lost her phone.

    • LAK says:

She ‘lost’ her phone, and Tanna is hinting on twitter that there might be more to come….a kiss and tell in the sunday papers.

      • Tourmaline says:

@LAK –wow I just checked out Tanna’s twitter—-yes it sounds like something is going to drop this weekend.
Wonder how bad it will be.

Wasn’t Guy Pelly’s wedding where William partied so hard he cracked a tooth, or was that another hooray Henry pal’s wedding?
James Meade & Tom Van Straubenzee are both godfathers to Princess Charlotte–AWKWARD.

      • Digital Unicorn (aka Betti) says:

Considering that Granny and Dad are not going out of their way to cover this up means that they have had enough of his BS – this is their dysfunctional way of disciplining him.

Tanna even hinting at this means that a story is being punted around the tabloids. Which one will bite? TMZ or one of the UK ones?

Plus I love that Tanna also basically confirmed what we’ve all been saying – Carole rules that family and Big Willy with an iron fist. But it could be her grip on him is slipping and why Katie Keen has been looking miserable as sin recently.

      • LAK says:

That Tanna twitter is amazing. I bet he is loving the schadenfreude of it all considering how many lawsuits William has thrown at him over the years.

I laughed at the image of Carole giving William a tongue lashing whilst Kate (and possibly other invested people) simply shrugs.

I think story will be UK media because he specifically mentions sunday. That’s the day all juicy scandals break in our tabloids.

It was the Tom von strawberry wedding. You can see William false front tooth very clearly in this picture.it jumps out at you because it looks like a ceramic.
        http://i2.cdn.cnn.com/cnnnext/dam/assets/160615101805-prince-william-attitude-cover-large-169.jpg

Betti: yep vis a vis BP and CH doing nothing at all about this.

    • Lady D says:

I mentioned above that the hand on the hip could be just trying to hear what she is saying. The Sun’s new headline just blew that theory.

    • lyla says:

he took her hat and put it on? lol. that’s something i (and a lot of girls) do that guys complain about.

  27. jeanne says:

i gave him a pass on the boys weekend thing but the way he touched that girl (and allowed her to touch his arm) was entirely inappropriate. I even had my husband watch it to get his opinion and he said he would never touch another woman like that.

i never really believed the william cheating rumors before but if a man gets handsy like that drinking with his friends then girlfriend has reason to suspect.

  28. Anare says:

…meanwhile Harry is showing up at one terrific event after another looking handsome as heck, comfortable in his role, connecting with the people. What’s up? It’s almost like someone set this up.

    • Citresse says:

That thought crossed my mind too….has William made up his mind he doesn’t want to be King and now Harry is being promoted? It seems so.

      • Lady D says:

I think he fully expects to be King and it is owed to him. He will (he thinks) finally get the respect he deserves. Also, if he has decided he doesn’t want the crown, how much longer will Kate put up with his behaviour? If I was her, I’d move to the London apartment and tell him to stay in the country home. All she has to do is point out the benefits to his privacy were he to stay there.

      • Citresse says:

Lady D, history repeats itself…..Kate moves back to KP with the children, then a call is placed to Andrew Morton?
Whatever may happen in the near future with the Cambridges (status quo is my guess), that ring (Diana’s engagement ring) certainly doesn’t help…It, IMO, had an ominous feeling about it when William presented it to her officially and it still does. Bad energy.

      • Digital Unicorn (aka Betti) says:

Hmm, I wouldn’t be surprised if that, behind the scenes, there is some ‘planning’ going on to prep Harry for Kingship. Chuck is ruthless and he will do what is needed to protect the Monarchy, even if it means throwing his elder son to the wolves. I think any chance of son and father reconciling is zero as long as the Middleton’s are around – Tanna’s tweets basically confirm the dynamics of that family and how en masse they ‘work’ William. I think that he see’s the time has come for some tough love with it comes to his eldest. As I said up thread the fact that Granny and Dad are not even attempting to cover this up is very very telling – they are letting him hang himself.

Commonwealth Day is said to be important to TQ, him missing it and then creating a scandal would upset her. William has already challenged and usurped TQ’s authority, his engagement is a prime example. He got engaged and told no one in his family until the day of the announcement – he is legally obliged to ask his Grandmother for her permission to marry. I think he did it that way to a) p!ss his father off and b) he must have worried that TQ would have refused him marrying Kate. The Middleton’s are not well thought of by the BRF.

      • Lady D says:

Perhaps he didn’t tell his family about his engagement on the premise that it is easier to get forgiveness than permission.

    • TheOtherOne says:

Then whoever orchestrated this set up deserves a round of applause because enough is enough. You had one job. Show up.

  29. COSquared says:

In case any of you were distracted by “adorably dorky” dancing *gags*, MPs have approved the £379 mn BP do-up. *Even more gagging*

  30. Emily says:

Harry’s been doing a lot of royal work lately. It’s an interesting contrast…

  31. Citresse says:

CTV news online Canada, has put this story top headline news. It said William is taking “flak” but wasn’t specific. I wonder what exactly is going on? I’m guessing the Queen and Charles have had enough.

    • Harla Jodet says:

Well Citresse, the British press hasn’t let up on William at all, every day is a new round of videos, photos and stories. I do wonder though if Mike and/or Carol are having words with him? I know if my daughter’s husband pulled this stunt my husband would be “having words” with him. But, considering Carol pretty much encouraged Kate to look the other way at William’s cheating when they were dating it would be hard for her to make a stand now. And yeah, I imagine that HM and Charles are pretty feed up with the Petulant Prince.

    • Maria says:

Let’s face it. Royal men have been doing this sort of thing for ages. Henry VIII, Edward VII, Edward VIII. Charles hasn’t always been innocent as a lamb, he dated two married women in the eighties, Kanga and Camilla. And the tampon tape wasn’t exactly edifying. Yes, he was separated, but Camilla wasn’t at the time. And Harry’s nude picture in Las Vegas, with some girl’s arms around him, (he was dating Cressida at the time.) So I fear the Royals will close ranks around him because he will be king. It is not in their interest at this point to bring him down, as much as I would love to see it and see King Harry IX on the throne with consort Meghan at his side.

      • Citresse says:

Yes, but Charles and Harry work. They get involved. They care about their causes.
This Verbier situation with William is much worse because of his arrogance and laziness. Compounded hundredfold.

      • minx says:

I wouldn’t call what any of these “royals” do “work”–but that’s me. I think it’s ridiculous to keep these people so pampered and spoiled in return for them showing up at some charity functions.

      • notasugarhere says:

minx, that is some of it and mostly the type of things W&K do. The Prince’s Trust, Invictus Games, Sentebale, Prince Philip’s work with technology in the Commonwealth, Princess Anne with Save the Children for 3 decades. Those involve real work with real impact.

      • Sarah says:

Come on, Harry has “worked” 19 days this year. Amd how many on his charity, compared to lolling around his cottage with his girlfriend, traveling to weddings, staying in Toronto, etc. He just looks good compared to,William, but he is no workhorse like Charles is and Diana was.

  32. Harla Jodet says:

How is this weekend jaunt playing into W&K’s narrative that they can’t work more because it would endanger George and Charlotte’s mental well being? Obviously, they only meant they can’t work more but playing more is perfectly fine and won’t upset G&C at all.

  33. robyn says:

Kaiser, you do have a wonderful knack for showing the best pictures. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Prince William look more handsome. 🙂

  34. HK9 says:

I find it very interesting that considering all he saw with his parents’ marriage, he now finds himself in a similar position. I wonder if he realizes how his lack of self-awareness is affecting those around him? I wonder if he thinks about what his Mother would say about his behaviour?

    • nem says:

royal special snowflake syndrome can’t bear the heat from the Sun.
he’s good example with his uncle andrew of the historical untitlement of the upper classes and aristocracy.they know money privilege and prestige is their due.
punishment is extraordinary rare.and it keeps repeating for centuries.
so why preventing themselves from acting like men from their social class and circles?

    • HappyMom says:

I also thinks this makes it difficult for Charles to put the kibosh on his behavior.

    • notasugarhere says:

He chose to put himself in this situation by choosing to be unfaithful for a decade+.

    • lyla says:

it’s very like much like one of my cousins. my uncle cheated on my aunt – how many times idk, with how many people idk, but i recently learned that it started at least 20 years ago. anyways, my aunt and uncle finally separated a few years ago, both are in their 60s. they aren’t divorced though. my cousin is very much a mama’s boy and hates what his dad did to his mom. but my cousin, who is 33, has cheated on every one of his girlfriend.

  35. TheOtherOne says:

See no. Heck no. Wills is trying to spin this into maybe he has unresolved mental health issues. He is acting out because it’s the 20th anniversary of Diana’s death. Nope nope nope. He has entitlement and arrested development issues. He refuses to better himself, listen to others or accept responsibility for his actions with REMORSE. I am just upset because this hint/spin is a slap in the face to those who truly suffer from mental illness cannot or are unable to get real help.

    • Cee says:

LOL and that’s why Harry has been working, though, right? Only Golden Boy Willy was affected by Diana’s death. He’s an asshole.

      • HappyMom says:

Seriously. I mean how gross to try and use this as an excuse. If I was Harry I would be pissed.

    • LA Elle says:

This makes me furious. It’s twenty years ago, he’s now a father of two – he no longer gets to use this as an excuse. If he’s that traumatized by her death, then he has no business having children of his own or being in line for the throne.

Diana’s death was tragic. No doubt about it. But I know a lot of people who dealt with that and worse as children – and without the benefit of his privilege – who turned that tragedy into motivating force in their lives. They had their hearts broken – and yes, there are days when they are still sad or angry or hurt – but at some point they picked themselves up and refused to be a victim.

  36. A says:

And so the royal road show keeps going on, ft. this generation’s layabout, who seems to have combined being an unfaithful husband as well as a public embarrassment to that title with equal enthusiasm.

  37. suze says:

He is just trolling us now.

  38. Cerys says:

The press are currently having a real go at Whiny and about time too. I wonder if he was actually scheduled to be on shift today or if his PR team told him to turn up and get his picture taken “working”.
There has been a flurry of engagements announced suddenly and no doubt a picture of G&C will be issued and everything will be alright again.
The body language experts will be out in force trying to analyse their behaviour in Paris.

  39. Alexandria says:

Me thinks missing Commonwealth Day was his way of rebelling against the Paris trip but in the midst of rebellion, he did not expect to be filmed. Not saying it’s right.

  40. saygoodnightgracie says:

I don’t get what the problem is. He went out with the guys for a night out with his friends, there was no girl in the video, just him dancing by himself, probably a little drunk, but so what? Is he not allowed to go out and have fun once in a while? Girls have their GNO, why can’t he? I LOL when I saw one commenter say how “furious” this makes her. Girlfriend needs to get a life.
