Here are some photos of Jessica Biel at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere event for her new USA miniseries The Sinner. I honestly didn’t know that Biel was coming back to TV, but here we are. First, the fashion/style: Biel wore a dress from Self-Portrait’s Fall 2017 collection. I don’t really care for the ruffles nor the fabric, but it’s not terrible. I’m also sort of grateful that she pushed back her bangs. Bless.
As for the miniseries, or “limited series,” it’s based on Petra Hammesfahr’s book The Sinner. Biel plays the lead role, a young wife and mother who kills some guy at the beach in front of witnesses. No one knows why she did it. Bill Pullman plays her court-appointed shrink, I think. Here’s the trailer:
I think this looks good? It looks almost like prestige-television and I’m a little bit surprised that it’s on USA and not a premium cable channel. It’s eight episodes and it doesn’t premiere until August, so they’re probably just trying to increase buzz at the Tribeca Film Festival. I will say this… I don’t hate this as a career move for Biel. She tried to do the movie-star thing and people really stopped buying it. There’s nothing wrong with going back to television work, especially if you wait for a prestige-project like this.

I also Didnt click play on the trailer cause it’s her LOL but Is a SOUND career move for her, 100% that’s where she belongs, on TV, Subgenre Action/Beauty, possibly selling me work out clothes like the other girl or maybe Hair Products
Yeah…her “too beautiful” works best and is more…”serviceable (?)” on the small screen. No hate. She just is underwhelming on the big screen (like, you know you’ve seen her in *something,* but can’t remember what and as who almost as soon as the ending credits roll).
And as far as this look goes: there is too much going on and ain’t none of it notable (except the bod, of course)…

I can understand it, but it does Biel’s sensational figure no justice.
And the shoes/lip colour combo don’t go with the aesthetic.

Yes to her being on tv. No to the dress. Last time I saw her was as a guest on New Girl and she was very good.

I like the dress, but I would like it more if some of the ruffles weren’t so huge. I also think she needs eye makeup. She’s pretty but tired looking. So glad that enema-hose of a husband isn’t there.

I was expecting Justin to pop out of the car and start jumping up and down making noises. But that outfit does nothing to flatter. She had/has a killer bod (she use to anyway, looks very thin nowadays) and this dress is a big NO.
This dress is off to me, maybe a little overworked. But that’s Self-Portrait’s thing, I think, all the ruffles, etc. Makeup is a no go too.
I’m not a ruffle person, so I’m not one to comment on that. If she’s going to have bold pink lips I think she should have stronger eye makeup.
I agree! It looks like they didn’t have enough time to finish her makeup and shoved her in the car before they could do her eyes. Don’t get me wrong, she is gorgeous but this look is not good.

I think she is a very attractive woman, but like all of us (or at least, most of us) styling, makeup and wardrobe can make or break you. I’m not a Biel fan or hater, but every time I see her she gives me those “I could look great if I made better choices” vibe. Does anyone know, does she work with a stylist? If so, that person should be fired. They aren’t doing her justice.
She seems to lean toward foufy marchesa esque overdone dresses and they don’t go with her look. It’s like me and Free People. I love the hippie Kate Hudson look but when I wear it I look like a pregnant Woodstock reject and it isn’t a good look. Lol.

The trailer doesn’t look half bad, maybe Biel just fits better for TV. Anyways, I will watch anything with Christopher Abbott.

She needs strong eye makeup here. The pale complexion just makes her eyes disappear and makes her look really tired.

Not crazy about the dress, or the hair, but I do like her makeup! Her face looks so… fresh. I think she looks best with some colour to her lips. She’s beautiful, but often her makeup is unbearably uniform in its Beigeness. Makes her look sort of anaemic.
