Here are some photos of Lena Dunham and JJ Abrams at the Athena Film Festival Awards Ceremony at Barnard College a few days ago. Lena was on hand to present an award to JJ – she presented him with the Leading Man Award for being an ally to women, basically, because men need to get a cookie for writing roles for women. Of course, Lena being Lena, this was part of her speech:
“I think it’s pretty generous you even agreed to let a dude in the building, all things considered, at this moment in time. In a year in which so many men have been called out for being f–kboys at best and despicable predators at worst, it is such an honor to support and recognize the man who has used his power and prestige to support and advocate for women in the entertainment industry.”
Just a reminder: Lena publicly defended a man accused of being a “despicable predator.” She publicly defended Murray Miller when she learned he was being investigated for the rape of a then-teenage girl, Aurora Perrineau. She’s still never apologized to Aurora for basically accusing Aurora of lying about being raped.
Meanwhile, Lena wants you to know that no matter what, she and Jack Antonoff are totally cool following their split. From Us Weekly:
Together or apart, he’s still standing by her side. Jack Antonoff continues to be an unwavering source of support for ex-girlfriend Lena Dunham amid her health issues.
“Lena and Jack are in a great place, not in a romantic way. Jack has been really supportive,” a source exclusively tells Us Weekly. “They aren’t hanging out or talking every day but he’s being supportive and they’re in constant communication and being friendly with each other.” The insider added, “Lena is really focused on her health.”
I hate to say this because I genuinely believe that Lena’s endometriosis and hysterectomy issues were profound and devastating for her, but I also believe that she’s trying to use public sympathy for her drama to “come back.” Like, she’s making some public appearances and the vibe is “I’m ready to be your beloved drama queen again!” Is anyone buying it?
As for Jack Antonoff and Lena and Lorde… Lorde publicly came out and said she loves Jack but they aren’t dating, despite the fact that Jack was in New Zealand to spend time with her. Is anyone buying that sh-t either? I don’t really care about the Lena-versus-Lorde/did-Jack-cheat-on-Lena-with-Lorde debate. I just don’t care. Should I?

Ok, but to be fair to JJ, I believe he’s a true ally for women’s causes. More so than Lena, honestly.
Came to say the same about JJ, many men aren’t willing to do what he does, so yeah I think he deserves some type of recognition. Hopefully one day it will be the norm and we won’t have to pat them on the back for doing what they should though. 😄
While I find her writing about her health troubles a great read. My initial thought reading this is “Yawn” – she will screw up again in about 3-6 months – rinse, lather, repeat.
She’s the worst. I’m sorry for her health issues and I hope the surgery brings positive long term results for her but she’s a garbage person who created an extremely mediocre show and can’t think beyond her own little bubble and about other people. She should’ve been cancelled years ago.
Also, Jack and Lorde.. just stop. We’re not idiots. At the very least you’re sleeping together.

She is a sexual predator. Her own words, via the book she wrote. Why they chose her to speak leaves me dumbfounded.
I am also not surprised that she would defend her own kind. She is gross. Why is she still a thing? I don’t think I’ve ever read a positive thing about her, ever.
Wow. I just looked it up. She’s a total weirdo. Why would she ever write about that? She obviously does not see what she did as predatory or she surely wouldn’t have written about it, right?
apparently her sister asked her not to publish it, and she didn´t care, went ahead and told the world about something that is really disturbing, she is not ashamed, and wants everyone to know what a creep she is, against her sister´s wishes. I suspect her parents told her how special she was from a very early age and her antics were perceived as adorable quirks rather than destructive behavior.
Forgets that she IS a predator.
Couldnt care less about her and her health issues. Cancer, death and about a million other diseases and ailments don’t care if you’re a good or bad person, they don’t discriminate. Aholes don’t stop being Aholes just because they got sick and their history does not get wiped clean. I’m sorry I don’t subscribe to that bs..Lena is a gross trash person and will always be a gross trash person.
I just can’t with this one. She is vile to me.
She’s just a terrible human being. She’s shown that literally countless times. I feel like I could write ten paragraphs about all the awful things she’s said and all the awful ways she’s behaved and still not even scratch the surface. So, I’m sorry she’s gone through some health problems, but can we finally just be done with her now?
As far as I’m concerned, she as well as anyone who chooses to associate with her are cancelled. And she’s absolutely using her health problems to try to win public sympathy. GROSS and fortunately no one seems to give a damn.
I wish she would just stop. I don’t want to hear anything until she’s given out a few apologies.
I do think that she is using her health trouble as a way to garner sympathy. She’s a really selfish person and I don’t think she cares about anything but her agenda.
The blinds say that Jack Antonoff blew up close friendships because they “knew” he was having an affair with Lorde. I myself think he is a star-fu**er who trade up at any opportunity.
Does anyone watch The IT Crowd? Jack looks to me like the musician Jen falls for in that episode. He and Lena look perfect together.
The “sources” sound like Lena, trying to make it seem like Jack didn’t just ghost her completely. So I’m thinking that’s porobably what he’s done.
In that last picture, I’m so confused. How are her shoulders so white and her face yellow orange?
