I feel like I’m hallucinating with this Brad Pitt-Neri Oxman story. Many outlets are running the story like “Brad Pitt is spending time with brilliant MIT professor” or “Brad Pitt’s new lady is an accomplished architect.” But within every story, some Brad-source insists that Brad is not in fact dating Neri Oxman. All anyone really knows is that Brad met Neri Oxman last year, when he visited MIT. They clearly met, and they clearly know each other and perhaps they’re even friendly. But the stories actually make it sound like Brad is openly pursuing a woman who currently has a billionaire boyfriend. Which isn’t the same as “Brad has a new lady!”
Anyway, People Mag is milking this to a crazy level. They’re so eager to help Brad reclaim his image as their Golden Boy. They have the same story that LaineyGossip had last week: Brad met Neri Oxman after Thanksgiving last year:
Looks like Brad Pitt and new friend Neri Oxman have known each other for a while. The actor, 54, was spotted at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology back in November where he seemingly dropped by one of Oxman’s classes the week after Thanksgiving. Several students posted pictures of the actor posing with the class, including one where he is standing next to Oxman.
“She’s genius and gorgeous,” an architect, who has seen Oxman lecture and knows her work, tells PEOPLE. The actor kept it casual in an all-black outfit as he happily smiled along with the students for several pictures. He also stood next to Oxman in another picture with his hands behind his back as the larger group beamed at the camera. That photo has since been taken down.
Page Six first reported last week that the two had struck up a friendship based on their shared love of architecture. Pitt reportedly met Oxman, 42, through an architecture project at MIT, where she works as a professor of media arts and sciences at the school’s Media Lab.
We already knew this – we knew that Brad visited MIT and that’s how he met Neri Oxman for the first time. What we don’t know is whether Brad and Professor Oxman have spent much time together since that first casual meeting. And I think it’s a bridge too far to claim that “Brad has been dating Neri Oxman for SIX MONTHS.”
A few more things – E! News wonders if all of this means that Brad is “leaving Hollywood.” Considering his next project is Quentin Tarantino’s movie about the Sharon Tate murder, probably not? Oh, and now people are trying to make this into another Uncool Bermuda Triangle, like Jennifer Aniston is “crushed” that Brad is “dating” Neri Oxman. I like how no one is even bothering to manufacture gossip about Angelina Jolie being “crushed” – Angelina clearly doesn’t give a sh-t. But Aniston? Please. I doubt she gives a sh-t either.

Angie was still making comments about how she and Brad fell in love and how she couldn’t wait to show their kids the film where mom and dad fell in love and she did that knowing full well what kind of press coverage it would get.
And Brad still milks it. Aniston is the one who recently put out that she hadn’t seen him in 13 years. He refuses to clarify because he wants that out there to make himself look desirable.
You know who else milks it? The media. They figured out long ago the public prefers Brad and Jen to Brad and Angie. That’s why they’re on all the magazine covers.
Really. Brad made precisely TWO comments about Jennifer. The last one was in 2011. Angelina made ONE comment about how their children can see where their parents fell in love, got married (they were not even engaged let alone married at the time), and tried to kill each other. Ergo, she was talking about the CHARACTERS Mr and Mrs Smith. She NEVER said anything about her and Brad themselves falling in love.
Nice try though. We’ve heard it all a thousand times before, and it is no more true than it was back then. Aniston is the one who held pity parties, she is the one who said ‘I was shocked! The WORLD was shocked!!!!’ Aniston is the one who did the round of talk shows for at least 3 years. Aniston is the one who did the ‘5 years after Brad!’ cover story. Aniston is the one who had spent at least 11 years making passive-aggressive digs at Brad and Angelina. Aniston is the one who laughed at a cartoon of her shooting Angelina. Aniston is the one who talked about carrying Vivienne and Knox on each hip (while promoting Marley and Me). Aniston is the one who hired Chelsea Handler to make vicious attacks against Angelina and racist attacks on her adopted children, whilst Aniston walked on stage on cue, GRINNING like a Cheshire cat. On TWO separate occasions no less (so the first time was no accident and she didn’t direct Handler to knock it off). Aniston is the one who signed a ‘Team Aniston’ shirt, and fanned the flames.
It was all Aniston coat-tailing, stalking and harassing the JPs in the media. Brad mentioned his marriage to her TWICE. Angelina never referenced Aniston or Brad’s previous marriage at all. EVER. So stop your delusions and twisting and manipulating the facts.
Neri is being used to improve Brad’s image. I hope she figures it out and shuts it down.
This is really bothering me a lot and has completely ruined Brad in my view. He’s more obsessed with the slow roll of a new girlfriend it seems then mending his relationship with his 6 children. That tells me everything about the type of loser he is.

I will say this: My partner works with Neri, knows her well, there is NO truth to this, and everyone at MIT pretty much loathes Pitt and all of these stories right now. I believe his PR people are just using his brief meeting with Neri (he visited her class) as a convenience, to keep his name out there, and to promote his overweaning ego. Neri is very sweet and endearing, and was very gracious toward him no doubt (as she is to everybody– including me!), and THIS is the PR stunt he pulls. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. I hate Brad Pitt. May his dick shrivel and fall away right now. If I ever see him on campus again, I will bite him. I am not alone in how I feel.

Honestly, it doesn’t seem the kids are that close to their father, and it’s very clear he considers making himself happy far more important than having a loving father/child relationship with his 6 children.

Brad is looking really healthy again and that can only mean he’s happier. I often think big names in movies do better if they marry outside the business. Less of an ego clash maybe…. and conflicting schedules.
Looking healthier probably because he sobered up (got clean). It happens to a lot of addicts. Also in marriage men and women reach a point where they don’t care how the look to the opposite gender since they are already taken. Brad is doing the role usually considered by divorced women: start getting into shape again, go for beauty treatments and facials, new clothes. They are signs you are available and ready to date again.
Correction: divorced women with no children. If you do have children you are supposed to stay the same or look worse from all the child care responsibilities that are now left totally to you.

BF, immediately: “Who, Oxman?” he actually saw her present back in the fall and was very impressed with her but had the same reaction we did – she’s very smart and working on a lot of cool stuff but why mess around with an actor??

This is going to sound way ruder than I mean it to, but… Is Brad actually that smart or does he just fancy himself an intellectual? I never really thought he was particularly brainy, but is he? Is this just a narrative they’re trying to push? I’m so baffled about why they keep linking him to such intelligent, established women who seem out of his league
I think he’s business smart, which is different from intellectual smart. I think intellectuals like to play around with ideas. Business smart people care about the bottom line. At least in my mind, that’s how I distinguish between the different types of “intelligences.”
His choice of friend in Neri Oxman is a good sign. Not that he will get together with her, the first woman he’s been connected with that he didn’t deny, but if that is the quality woman he is looking to spend time with, looks like he’s truly moving away from his past.
She shares a similar chin structure with Jen and Brad. In China, they believe the more resemblance with facial structure the better the relationship. Like attracts like. Opposites attract but similarities bond. We naturally pick someone who mirrors our facial features.
So there’s one photo of them meeting in her lecture, and…nothing more? No one has seen them hanging out together, on a date, nothing? She apparently is in a steady relationship. And yet “someone” is pushing this story awfully hard.

Does anyone else think BP’s PR team is kinda selling this setup really hard?! Like his time as a bachelor will expire soon? lol. Of course, this is textbook CAA’s PR 101 at its best. They do this for all their top clients once the marriage is kaput. The agency tends to parade their clients to all available bachelor or bachelorettes to anyone who would match their clients ‘needs or desire. BP had done it with his first ex for the setup so he’s well versed in this regard.
If you notice how these articles are painting him in glowing terms, you could almost forget that his on-going divorce was a result of his alteration with his son and the cause was his alcoholism. Nah, none of that were mentioned in any of these stories like they never existed. He’s the nicest guy in the whole world and is looking for a new love now that he’s available once again.
