Claire Danes & Hugh Dancy are expecting their second child

The Met Gala 2017

Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy are one of those celebrity-couples that I tend to forget about in general. That’s not a slam: I actually like them separately as actors, but whenever I do see them together, I’m like “oh right, they’re married.” I think part of this is because Hugh seems to be a bit uptight and British and he doesn’t seem to be into the whole “let’s be a celebrity-couple-brand” thing. Which means that I’m always left wondering if they’re doing okay. They have a son, Cyrus, who is 5 years old. I always wondered if they would have another, and as it turns out… Claire is pregnant again! So I guess they’re fine.

Claire Danes is pregnant and expecting her second child with her husband, Hugh Dancy, the actress revealed on Howard Stern‘s SiriusXM show on Wednesday, April 18.

The Homeland actress, 39, said that she’s deep in her second trimester.

Danes and the Path actor, 42, met on the set of the 2006 drama Evening and tied the knot in 2009. They welcomed son Cyrus, now 5, in December 2012.

In case anyone was wondering, Homeland is still on? The show just aired its seventh season, and the eighth and final season will air next year. I stopped watching it when you-know-who died, but I remember the season where Claire was pregnant with Cyrus and they tried to hide it with bulky clothes and weird sex scenes. I wonder what they’ll do for the final season, if they’re filming it right now? Anyway, congrats to Claire and Hugh. I hope their marriage is solid as a rock!

PS… I totally forgot how orange she was at the Emmys a few years ago!!

I quit when you know who died, too.

#same.. he should’ve gotten his own show or something instead. I think about his haunting portrayal of a chemical weapon victim still to this day (unfortunately)

I wanted to be just like Claire Danes in the 90s. My So-Called Life, Romeo + Juliet, To Gillian, Forget Me Not. I just thought she was the prettiest ever.

I loved the first couple seasons of Homeland but it started to get too soapy for me after that and I bailed. Has anyone here kept up with it? Is it worth another try?

I wanted to be Angela chase because I loved Jordan Catalano.., swoon

I watched the first 4 or 5 seasons. They moved to Berlin and I really liked the peter Quinn character, maybe more than Brody. But last season we realized that it had really jumped the shark and I was sick to death of all these people. I do have friends who like this season and she is back in DC again. Seems like it should have ended after 3 or 4 seasons, they just flogged every character and their quirks over and over. I do still love the Americans and am watching every show of their last season with bated breath.

The current season is soooooo good! So many parellels to the current political climate. Really big twist too which caught everyone off guard. That episode was one of the best since the first season

Me too! I love this season. It’s so good! Claire is still completely killing it as Carrie.

Yas! This season started a little slow but I’m loving it! Tons of parallels to our current pilots climate.

I also loved Hugh as Will Graham in Hannibal. I’m sad that’s over.

Idk, just because they don’t engage in the celeb couple stuff doesn’t mean we should question whether they’re doing okay. Aniston and Co. and Brange played that game and lost. And pregnancy doesn’t mean things are good either! Band-aid babies are real. There are dozens of us!

I wonder if she went orange to combat the gold of her gown? Idk enough about colours, but could ithave washed her out if she hadn’t?

I am kind of confused why people would believe or assume this to be a band aid baby.

I like Hugh, he did amazing work in Hannibal and the art/film direction was superb…so sad when they cancelled it. Anyway not a fan of her ever since I found out about her banging Billy Crudup while he was with his pregnant gf. Everyone apparently got over it but I m still not over it as she still just claims she was “young and in love”…. hopefully her husband doesn’t fall for some young lovely thing. When she broke up with Billy that did make me laugh tho…

    • tracking says:

Yeah, I wasn’t too fond of her after the Crudup debacle. Of course, he had primary responsibility but her lack of empathy or remorse was astonishing to me.

    • melanie says:

True that. However they have been together for 10 years or so and this is their 2nd baby…sooo…..

People can’t help but tell Stern everything. He’s such a great interviewer.

  7. ValiantlyVarnished says:

They have always been a low-key couple and I respect that. I don’t automatically assume that just because a celebrity couple isn’t taking pap strolls or guahig about each other constantly in interviews that their marriage is in trouble. Hugh and Claire have always been private people so I dont know why that would suddenly change. Congrats to her and Hugh on the new baby! PS – I loved him as Will on Hannibal and I still mourn that show on a regular basis!

First Hoult than Dancy. Is today the “Handsome British Actors Having Children Day” ?!
