Well, look who just went Red Carpet Official: the formerly-known-as-Keeping-It-Kasual, Kourtney Kardashian and Younes Bendjima. Last Friday, the couple attended the Syrian American Medical Society’s Voices in Displacement event in LA. Unfortunately, they chose to wear the outfits above to make their debut. Kourtney is wearing a very traditional Kardashian look – showing as much skin as possible with the pretense of it actually being a dress. The only unique thing about this look is the “dress pieces” are outside the netting. I’m starting to see a minimal jewelry trend in Hollywood and it’s making me sad. A necklace could have done wonders here. However, I actually dislike Younes’ look more. The jacket’s buttons run too high for him. If he was going to button all the buttons, he needed some sort of neckwear. Without neckwear, the shirt’s collar is too structured for being unbuttoned. And don’t get me started on the shoes. I don’t care for sport shoes with suits, anyway but If you are going to do that look, at least do an unadorned sneaker or Van, not a running show with contrasting brand labels.
Following the gala, Kourtney loaded Younes on their private jet and flew him away for a special 25th birthday trip. The kicker was, he had no idea where they were going:
Well, that’s fun. As we know, the couple is pretty fond of their vacations. One might casually wonder if they actually do anything else? So, I guess this is a perfectly appropriate birthday gift. Younes was surprised and posted his own Snapchat of the excursion:
Oh, I’ll bet Kourtney was really happy when she saw that shot of herself. Kourtney, the little prepared party planner, even arranged to have take out from Jon & Vinny’s on the plane to tide them over until that got to wherever it was they were going.
Not going to lie, that looks pretty tasty. As for where they actually ended up – we don’t quite know. The only clue is a photo of the Colorado River that Kourtney posted, but that runs through four states and into Mexico. Sister Kim was in Las Vegas at her high school reunion this weekend so I wonder if that’s where these two ended up as well. Apparently, they had a few destinations. The important part is that they had fun, I guess. Enough fun to earn us a shirtless Younes blowing out his candles:
For his part, Younes posted his birthday gratitude by thanking… his mom! That’s awesome. He posted to his Instagram stories a message in which he said, “On this special day, I just want to thank God for the priceless gift of life that he has given me, my being alive, healthy and for the wonderful people he has put in my life. My journey so far in life has been amazing. El hamdulilah [sic] always. Also, to my queen, my super hero, mom, I promise to live a life that will do justice for all the sacrifices you’ve made.”
Ah, that made me all warm inside. That is, until I saw this on his Instagram:
Gah! He didn’t wear socks with his running shoes?!
I guess the only thing left is to speculate where this relationship is going. They spent the last year letting us know how casual they were but things seem to be getting more serious. I like them together so I hope they stay happy. He must have adjusted to the other-wordily Kardashian lifestyle by now (he certainly seems to have benefitted from it.) My guess: Kourtney will get pregnant in the next year, I think she wants another kid. Younes seems fairly relaxed, he’d probably be a fun dad.

When I start to worry, or doubt myself in this new world of dating (after many years in domesticated captivity) I think to myself, would this man be Kardashian dating material? If there is even a hint of yes, I remove him from the equation.
